Blimey it is humbling to read what others are coping with. It very much puts into perspective our sleepless night with wind and constipation.

GT I reckoned I would wait until P was about 6 to 8 weeks old before introducing the next size of dummy.

We have the health visitor today so I will mention the rooting followed by gagging.

rowingdowntheriver · 28/11/2012 11:04

Exactly what dh and passme said.

rowingdowntheriver · 28/11/2012 11:05

Oh, and does anyone know what happens to your waters when you have a cs? Do they just flood out or do they Hoover them put or do they just stay where they are and get weed out?!

PetiteRaleuse · 28/11/2012 11:15

They break your waters in the CS - when I had mine I heard a kind of whooshing noise. Didn't hear a splash so I guess they kind of siphon them out somehow.

Tongue tie - both mine have had it and the snip was done on day two or three. Tey were back with me in less than five minutes showing no signs of any pain whatsoever

Sophiathesnowfairy · 28/11/2012 11:42

Gosh DH a stone is fab, I have two stone to loose and as I am not bfing I can't think of Any reason not to start today, except all the stuff in the house is not really ideal. So tomorrow it will be. It will be a long slog. Sad

Christmas clothes wise, I thought I would get a couple of nice sleep suits from JoJo that can be worn from now, one has reindeers and one has snowmen, they should keep us going for the whole of the season!

In other news we had a SICK FREE NIGHT. I was still in the same pjs when I got up that I went to bed in. Grin

I am just now attacking all the washing that has accumulated since the 4th Nov when I bailed out of normal chores, we have only being doing the necessities.

TheDetective · 28/11/2012 12:02

I feel much better this morning. I think the lavender made things worse. Note to self.... No more lavender!

Just feeding now, sat in bed. DP got up and I asked what he was doing... Making lunch for me he said! Yay :)

PetiteRaleuse · 28/11/2012 12:07

Thanks Stunt. I sent a request to join :)

YellowWellies · 28/11/2012 12:16

Hey thereis great to hear how well your twins are doing. 3 months - wow time has flown!!

Alamaya fingers crossed things start going your way x

GT noooo to tape unless you want to irritate his skin! His ears will sort themselves out. One of J's ears was bent down like a puppies - but its fine now. They can get misshapen in the womb - it's normal xx

We're doing much better today - my fat piglet slept from midnight to five!!! He's upped my milk supply massively this growth spurt - I just pumped off 150ml in 10 mins. Am trying to build up a supply so we can go out for dinner for DH's birthday sans enfant....

glendathegoodwitch · 28/11/2012 12:45

Afternoon ladies

Wow I've finally made it onto here - Dottie is 16 days old and the days have flown by way too quickly!!! She is a complete milk monster and feeds all bloody day but she does let mummy sleep for 5-6 hours at night and she is bloody gorgeous so I'll forgive her!!!

Hubbies gone back to work so just me and Dots during the day then school run at 3 - I forgot how much hassle and need to get better with my timings as I always leave too early then Dottie goes nuts waiting in the car for 20 minutes when she could be feasting lol

Love love love all the gorgeous photos on the fb page - what beautiful babies we all make!!!!

Hope everyone is well xx

blonderthanred · 28/11/2012 13:08

L had only put on 60g this week so still not at birth weight. My heart sank but the mw we saw said that he looks well and healthy, is clearly going to be tall like his Dad, and to just keep going with the breastfeeding as some babies are quicker than others. We still have to go back next week but hopefully he will have a little growth spurt this week.

He has suddenly come on developmentally in the last few days, it's like he's woken up and seen the world for the first time. So maybe all his calories have gone into that.

Elizadoesdolittle · 28/11/2012 13:46

blonder You've had a similar ride to us with weight gain, or lack of it! What is L weight now? Ella isn't back to her birth weight either. She's currently 7lbs 7ozs and was 8lbs 2ozs at birth. I had her weighed on Monday at the pre natal hospital clinic and she was 17 days old. They've done a urine test to make sure there isn't an infection but I saw a lovely mw who said E seems happy and healthy and just to carry on breast feeding as I am doing. Subject to the results of the test I've been signed off and just have to go the clinic rather than the hospital for weigh ins. Don't be disheartend, our little ones will get there. In a couple of months when they are piling on the weight we will wonder what all the fuss was about!

Passmethecrisps · 28/11/2012 15:06

The constant trials and tribulations of weight charts!

We have just had a HV round - piggy here has put on 13 oz in a fortnight.

DonnaDoon · 28/11/2012 15:08

blonder I think ive said before but just a reminder my dd took 4wks to get back to birth weight bfeeding alone...it was and still is a slog.

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/11/2012 15:50

sophia let's hope we both lose the stones fast! Xmas is not an easy time to lose weight though.

All I've done today is go to tesco, so bloody lazy! I was going to take ds to the park but its soooo cold and I was worried about keeping dd warm in a sling.

YellowWellies · 28/11/2012 15:58

I need to shift some pies too. My new 'fat' jeans arrived - and are tight!

Passmethecrisps · 28/11/2012 16:04

Yikes YW! I totally misread your post. I thought you were saying you has to shift piles. I was wondering just how bad your piles could be that they were making your jeans tight!

I am almost exclusively wearing mat jeans. Can't face getting pre-preg jeans out just to discover that they are too small. Have lost a stone but have one to go to be back to pre-preg. Was pretty much relying on breast feeding to help shift it so it looks like I am going to have to stop scoffing

TheDetective · 28/11/2012 16:12

Well I decided to get him weighed today - I had said I wasn't going to. But given he was technically what is known as IUGR as his weight was normal but low for his gestation. I decided I should make sure I'm doing the right things with him. 5 days old and he's gained 30g. Just hope he keeps it up! He is long and skinny, I can see he needs to gain weight.

I had a look at DS's weight chart last light, he was 8lb5 at birth, and 11lb5 at one month Shock.

They will all gain weight eventually, sounds like we are all doing the right things! As long as they are alert and healthy otherwise then this is acceptable, yes?!

We succumbed to the dummy this morning. It's a god send. DP actually made the decision not me. Glad he did as I was dithering. He likes to suck. Once settled he pops it out and sleeps! Phew! Much better day today!

We are giving up on pampers nappies. He has leaked out the back of them far too many times now. Just picked up some Sainsburies own brand ones. Wanted asda ones but DP took us to Sainsburys d'oh!

Now I have 5 packs of Pampers d'oh! I'll stick em on a Facebook selling group!

PetiteRaleuse · 28/11/2012 16:20

Detective i'm not brilliantly impressed with Pampers. Never had a problem with them for DD1, but there been a couple of leaks with LO. Am gong to try the local own brands in Germany (cheaper than France an only about 10 miles to the border). Anyone got an opinion on Aldi or Lidl?

Chunkychicken · 28/11/2012 16:39

Aldi nappies are raved about by people I know, but never tried them myself.

I used Pampers exclusively with DD but Huggies have been great this time around. Never like Asda's own - gave DD nappy rash as a newborn, whereas Sainsburys active fit ones were great later on.

Haven't actually had the tongue tie snipped yet but am led to believe it isn't painful & breastfeeding straight after helps it heal. They won't do it at my hospital, we're going to have to travel to Kings in London. They also won't do it unless you are ebfing.

I've lost about 1.5st & got about 18lb to go... Can't stop eating with the b-feeding & tiredness, so figure it'll go evrbtu

Chunkychicken · 28/11/2012 16:43

Bloody phone Angry

Eventually!!! Have ordered a couple of breastfeeding dresses in a size bigger than normal, to wear over Christmas & at a wedding in Jan, so it doesn't matter if I don't slim too much.

Still in my maternity jeans cos they're comfy!! Haven't dug out my pre-pg clothes yet, as most are in the loft (packed up thoroughly when we moved) and quite happy with the longer line pg t-shirts.:)

daisychain76 · 28/11/2012 16:55

I use aldi nappies, as only have 8 reusables small enough to fit, l find them really good.

YellowWellies · 28/11/2012 17:03

Tesco own brand nappies are good too. We'll be in reuseables after Christmas (my sis has a set we'll be borrowing) but couldn't be arsed in the early days of pooplosions - am loving reuseable wipes though. Cheeky wipes rock!

horseylady · 28/11/2012 17:04

Aldi were ok, they just didn't seem as absorbent as huggies or pampers. We got given some free ones which i put in my changing bag and they were fine.

Had a leaky poo and a couple of wees in the nappies. No idea which brand as I just buy whichever is on offer!! Both leaks I would say were my fault. The poo I'd not put it on tight enough, the wees I'd left his bits pointing up!! Saying that I always seem to be changing nappies!!!

Had a lovely day so far met my cousin and we went to the petting farm near the horses and had a very long coffee morning!! Heard some very sad news from someone else about a suicide leaving wife and child :( life's so precious I wonder why sometimes :(

Just about to cook tea!!

YellowWellies · 28/11/2012 17:04

When I say 'we' - I mean Jonas Blush I'm now risking life sans tena lady!!!

horseylady · 28/11/2012 17:16

Yw we've had another day of gigantic poops. One in the coffee shop. One at home. Little stinker!!

Good luck without the tena ladies!!
