Thanks horsey I'm only venturing sans tena in dodgy period pants though. can't fit any nice ones yet anyway

Our pooplosions seem to have died off now and he's progressed to one epic shite a day as his bowel has matured. I try to leave that one for DH. Grin Is it mean to leave him sat in it for ten minutes until DH gets home from work? He's asleep and quite happy. (how can anyone expel poo so vigorously asleep????)

After five hours sleep in one stretch last night - I have to say I'm feeling quite human again. Any episiotomy ladies braved DTD yet? My DH has been soooo lovely these last few weeks - would like to thank him fnar fnar.

That's v sad news about the suicide horsey - my second cousin killed himself as a teenager - his younger brother found him - was heartbreaking - and noone really ever knew why. It's torture for the family - poor lady to be on her own with kids and so many unanswered questions :(

Passmethecrisps · 28/11/2012 17:23

I wish we could have a poosplosion. Poor wee sausage is very unsettled today thanks to nasty constipation. HV reckons it should pass in a day or so and is just a result of moving from breast to formula. We also moved from one brand to another so there is a fair amount of tunmy settling to be done. Lots of massaging and cuddles happening.

Passmethecrisps · 28/11/2012 17:29

Sad news horsey. Worst moment of my career was attending the funeral of a child who commited suicide. The saddest thing in the world must be a child without hope.

Lol @ DTD YW although I do know what you mean about wanting to be nice back! I was watching my DH sleep the other night and he looked so like P sleeping I had a proper heart swell. I might need another week or so before I can consider any action. Still pretty tender two weeks on.

No Tena lady usage here - go me!!

Another thing HV mentioned is that P has a strawberry birthmark thing on her tummy. I thought it was where the tab on her body suits wa rubbing so I have been turning them inside out. Glad it's nothing which will cause her pain though.

GTbaby · 28/11/2012 18:34

pass are there any signs to usi g a higher flow teat? LO drools milk when drinking so is teat giving to much milk? Confusing

yw I have Blush. Lol. It took a few goes over two days. Felt uncomfortable at first so kept giving up. But perseverance paid off!

Also tape irritated LO skin. So not something ill suggest to anyone else.

Sorted LO clothes today. His nursery is basically a dumping ground for his gifts so far as his crib is in our room.
Most his current clothes (new born size) r snug now, he has a 3-6 month grow on ATM, so much easier getting it on him, so decided I'm going to skip 0-3 clothes lol. Gona pop into tesco tomorrow n buy some basics.

horseylady · 28/11/2012 18:58

He called her before hand, she raced home, found him, he was barely alive :(

Pass it's only recent the poop incidents. He was really struggling to go.

I think I'm ready. I actually want to which is good as throughout the entire pregnancy I had no desire!!

horseylady · 28/11/2012 18:59

Ooo pass what did you swap too and from?!

daisychain76 · 28/11/2012 19:25

Re constipated babies ~ with ds1 he once went 6 days without pooing and l ended up taking him to drs (pfb!). He said give him a bath, put baby bubble bath in and slosh it up his bum. It worked a treat!

Evilwater · 28/11/2012 19:28

Sorry to hear about the death horsey

I've bought grip water and used it twice, so far good. He has some wind that won't shift. We also went for a nice long walk, in the sun.

Was weighed, and is now 10lb at 8 weeks. Grin

TheDetective · 28/11/2012 20:54

I'm feeling sorry for myself! I got home after visiting DP's relatives. Put baby down and was about to take his outdoor clothes off when the piss literally came pouring out. I screeched my way to the toilet with my thighs clamped together. Stairs were interesting...! I'm gutted! I have a strong bladder usually! Not had any problems before now! Thank god I had 2 maternity pads on to soak it up! I didn't do a big wee either Confused. And I haven't drunk much this afternoon. Also it was about 6 hours since my last wee. Which is nothing for me. I go longer over night!

Going to have to get doing extra pelvic floors, since I have been doing them anyway!

There is no dignity in the life of a new mum! Hmm

TheDetective · 28/11/2012 20:58

I forgot to add DP's aunt who we visited has lent me her very expensive air cushion, which moulds to your bum! I am sat on £150 worth of cushion. I am scared Grin.

It's bloody good though! Wish we had visited them 5 days ago Grin

Passmethecrisps · 28/11/2012 21:08

detective that is weird I was going to post about a wee incident earlier. I was on the loo havig a wee and when I went to wipe I realised I was still weeing. I was weeing but had no idea. I ended up with a handful of wee. Very odd.

horsey the hospital have us mini-bottles of aptimal. We used those then bought some mini cartons of Hipp. We are now using powdered Hipp. Poor wee sausage has had breast milk, two different types of liquid formula and then powder in a few days. I have spent all day cycling her legs and massaging her tummy. She did a normal sized poo about an hour and a half ago and looks peaceful now.

daisy that is funny about the bubble bath. This is totally TMI but I have done that to myself before - accidentally. Like in the shower and being too vigorous with washing. It does lubricate the area that is for sure!

We have a 4 hour drive to see my aunty tomorrow. I have barely left the house so goodness knows how I will manage!

Chunkychicken · 28/11/2012 21:09

I didn't need tena lady at all (pelvic floor of steel Grin) and have actually gone pad-free today which seems quite early, at only 17 days post delivery.

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/11/2012 21:10

We haven't dtd yet and it's been nearly three weeks and I didn't have any stitches or anything! It's not that I don't want to/ feel tender, we don't have the time! Once ds is asleep dd wants feeding all evening long, then once she's asleep I'm way too tired for anything. He can sort himself out for a while yet Grin also I'm a bit scared to risk it before starting the pill again which I can't do for another three weeks.

I feel more human generally nowadays, still v tired but not head spinning, bone crushing tiredness (unless its been a particularly bad night) she only wakes twice for feeding which considering she's bf is quite good going. It'll prob all go to pot soon and she'll be up every hour. My body is finally getting used to 1am and 5am feeds!

Chunkychicken · 28/11/2012 21:12

Had no dignity whatsoever during the birth however... didn't get a hat trick of bodily fluids as didn't vom, but did wee AND poo myself when pushing.Blush

TheDetective · 28/11/2012 21:18

It is quite common to have wee issues after birth. So I don't know why I was surprised! I blame the forceps... maybe things just aren't as sensitive down there yet. Ah well, at least I was home thank fuck. I think I'll pack some extra clothes FOR ME! in the changing bag!

I'm going to have to make a trip to John Lewis in the next few day if my arse can handle it. The sheep skin liner had its first wash yesterday, and we followed the washing instructions to the exact degree, even going out and purchasing specific washing liquid! Yet it has come out shrunken, and nowhere near soft and fluffy as it was! I'm raging! And mostly gutted! I loved it, but if I can't wash it, what is the point in having it? It was £50 so hardly cheap! I don't know whether to accept an exchange or just get my money back? I really want one, but its a trek to JL and if it does the same thing again, i'll probably have a temper tantrum!

horseylady · 28/11/2012 21:19

Detective that happened to me on day 5 and 6 I sobbed. It's fine now.

Tonight I did a little workout!! Yay!! Just toning stuff. Was good, core didn't feel too bad, stronger than I expected. Just need to start running again. Still just walking a lot ATM. Will do the running in a couple of weeks. Very gradually.

Passmethecrisps · 28/11/2012 21:20

Did you chunky? How did you know? I've just asked DH if I wee'd or poo'd and he says no. No spew either. When my waters broke I did burst into tears and cry 'and now I've wee'd myself!'

TheDetective · 28/11/2012 21:22

Chunky I vommed as I was transferred from the theatre table to the trolley. And again in the recovery bed. I was lay down flat too. Caused a lotta mess Grin.

Worst thing was, it was my subway sandwich that DP had been specifically dispatched out to get while I was waiting for my waters to be broken! He arrived on labour ward 3 minutes after I had them broken, and just as the contractions started... was eating it in between contractions! I loved those sandwiches not any bloody more!.

TheDetective · 28/11/2012 21:23

I did my poo about 30 mins after waters breaking Wink. Good timing body, good timing!

DP also informed me there was no poo. I knew there wasn't... I'd of smelled it Grin.

Passmethecrisps · 28/11/2012 21:24

horsey I take my hat off to you. I am a lard arse. I am barely walking the length of myself.

Chunkychicken · 28/11/2012 21:26

pass I was on my knees & could hear/feel the wee. Then I felt the MW discretely wipe my bottom area...

kirrinIsland · 28/11/2012 21:27

What awful news horsey - what an awful thing to have to cope with :(

We've spent the day in the hospital. N was being observed as her breathing didn't look so good. They've let us home now, luckily, and she seems much better.

Good luck with the drive pass I've hardly left the house either. Yesterday was the first day I had to get them both ready to go out in my own - it did not go well!

YellowWellies · 28/11/2012 21:29

I vommed every contraction for the last 8 hours - bile and chocolate croissant. Classy!

Chunkychicken · 28/11/2012 21:31

detective that sucks about the sheepskin, esp if you followed the instructions!!

Passmethecrisps · 28/11/2012 21:36

Oh god yw you deserved a wee vom after what you went through. Hell's teeth.

Hmm, I think I had a wee wipe down as well. Also when I was on my knees. Ach well, I have list any pretence of dignity.

I love that detective was eating subway during contractions. Was too busy crying!
