Babies and I went to sleep at 10:30, awake again at 1:30 until 3, awake again at 4 and no sleep for me since then :( It's moments like the photo I just posted on FB that keep me going! Especially since I just woke DH up (who has slept soundly all night) and he's blundering about in a huff, trying to find socks and generally feeling sorry for himself because it is morning! Ffs, I think it might actually be years since I slept in until 8:45am!

Glenda - different guidelines but I sterilised it twice a day. Not after each express (every three or four). Bottles etc i did sterilise.

Nervous - only I had the bug last week thankfully. How are you getting on looking after both of them? Is he recovering?

4 am feed here, then projectile vom so outfit change for me and him.

Think were hitting 6 week growth spurt?! Blonder/vq/cc sound about right?

Morning ladies - last night was soooo much better dots went down at 11 until 5 this morning which was heavenly then woke up all smiley so we went downstairs rather than disturb dh

Does anyone know lots about expressing??? I want to try to express 2/3 times a day so I can drop the ff at night and give her 6ozs of ebm - do I have to sterilise the breast pump bits every time or can I wash in hot water? The bottles I sterilise just wondering if I can get away with not sterilising stuff 3 x a day also if I express 3x a day can I pump into the same bottle or do 3 separate bottles then put them in to one when I come to give it to her?? Anyone know of a book/website that covers all expressing questions???

Hoping to take her to get weighed today fingers x'd she's passed her birth weight which would let me relax a little more. Then I'm taking Tallulah to horse riding so fingers x'd again she's a good girl!!!

baby did not like moses basket in the beginning either but I cuddle (hard) for 30 mins after feeding - making sure his skin touches mine (that puts him into a deep sleep) then its into he moses basket - day 16 for us

MM, I've been saying the same re not going in basket. MW just said it's to be expected while feeding established. It's getting better slowly, I just keep putting him down, let him cry/grizzle a bit, sometimes it doesn't work and end up having to start feeding again, others it does. Last night we managed about 3 sessions down in Moses, last one was about 2.5hours. Just keep trying, Tilly will get there in the end.

Yawn... first time ever joining the night crew with a wee man finally asleep on my arm. He's been crying in pain since 3am :(. NHS 24 prescribed an age and weight adjusted dose of calpol which got us 4 hours sleep earlier - figured as my niece had it as a 4lber in the NICU that there would be a safe dose for a 9lber (it's tiny!!!) the doc said it was better for him to take it to feed as otherwise there was a risk of dehydration. From about 5am till now Jonas would only settle on his daddy - as I'm the evil milk bar of pain.

Am waiting up for the docs to open so I can get a phone consult to get a scrip for me so I'm not passing the thrush back from me. Any tips on treatment? Flucomazole?

What about expressed milk - should I chuck it? Am so fecked off with our shitty GP....

MmOlly was like that for the first couple weeks. We made him nap in his Moses basket in the day too to get used to it. Some nights we still have a prob but is getting better.

We have had two weird nights. Feeds normally at teA time dozes off, go to put him down, cries, cries on and off till aby 8:45 when I give in feed, then can't put him down till around 10 ish then last night slept till 5. It is really hard to tell if th tears are wind or hunger.

Am keeping DS1 at home today as his nursery teacher has a sickness bug and we would rather keep him off for 24 hours and see if it turns into an epidemic obviously would like to try to avoid Olly getting it.

How to turn Sainsburys into a fun activity? Hmm

missmummy I had this for first 4 days. Got him used to Moses basket when sleeping during the day and starting using it at night for short chunks. Now at 13 days he sleeps in it happily. The first 4 days lying on the sofa with him all night were hard though!

wowzers 15mins is good going! neither of us can sleep with her on us so it's tough going - thank god for iplayer! we obviously wont be able to maintain it beyond dp going back to work so need to think uo a longer term solution. any advice greatly appreciated! cuddling her for longer after feeds and letting her get into a deeper sleep doesnt seem to make much difference Sad lucky for tills she is very cute and we are still high on birth hormones to care too much! 15 minute feed?!

I don't know what to do! Be grateful? Or worry that he will wake in 30 minutes and feed forever!!

Help!

mm try leaving it a little longer before making the transfer. I had same issue so waited until LO was in deeper sleep and he went down. Now I put him down straight away which works most of the time.

I'm convinced my mind is playing tricks on me. I'm sure I did a feed at 1 and he just work at 5.30 for feeding. That would be great. However my brain is such a fuzz I'm not sure if that is right. Must stop MNing n sleep as soon as LO does at night time!

Yup MM that seems to be standard for us all lol! Oscar goes in after 30 min of cuddles once he gets in to deep sleep. Drives me mad! Lucky you DP taking her! Mine won't sleep with him on him because I don't trust him and he doesn't trust himself to remember he is there!.

So I've just managed almost 2 hours again. Thank god. He woke at 320, and just now at 6. See how long he guzzles for this time!! Hmm Boobs and bits are feeling good, thank you canesten cream!! Grin

Cat I don't know how you bloody do it! Wonder woman!

So Tilly HATES her moses basket. Feeds like a dream with me, doses off on my chest, can be handed to daddy to be placed in her basket and as soon as she's in screams blue murder. Sad DH and I been working as a tag team all night letting her sleep on each of us for 2/3 hours a time after sleep. I'm too scared to attempt proper co sleeping.Confused

I'm on third feed of the night, but they've been feeding for twenty minutes and are definitely slowing fown and thinking about going to sleep again. Hope so, I've been feeling uncharacteristically sleepy during the night feeds for the last few days.

I do a 'baby load' every other day, or thereabouts. I have a 9kg washing machine and it's on AT LEAST once a day. I too separate their stuff from tne rest of the family's for now, but that is because I wash their stuff in Fairy, as well as 20 degrees hotter than any other load.

May have spoken too soon about the babies going back to sleep.....
