hubbard it's great to hear your sounding so positive that you made the right decision re: exh, and wowsers to dropping 5 dress sizes - how incredible.

Those watching homeland - we've series linked it and won't watch it till a day or so later than everyone here, so could I please ask either you don't talk about homeland plot lines or write a huge bold warning note before you do so I don't read and get things spoilt? Thank you

deb how close is that coat to fitting now?!

blizy can't be long to Las Vegas now can it?

Quick advice asker - Alice is getting very naughty indeed and does things she knows is naughty and just thinks the naughtier it is the better it is to do, she just laughs and baby signs 'naughty' Hmm . So, how do I handle it? Things like flinging her food around the room (and I mean ALL over the room). I tell her it's naughty in a strict (but not shouty) voice and try ignoring her afterwards for a minute, so she knows she won't get attention from it and then explaining what a good girl would do (e.g. Alice needs to give the plate to mummy when you've finished and say finished - she knows that's what she needs to do as she's responded to that before). I wonder if it's as she's just learnt the sign for naughty so thinks it's great fun to be able to use it Hmm . Anyway ladies - what do you do in such situs?

Hubbard- I'm do glad things are finally on the up for you.Smile

Reastie- I would remove Alice from the situation, if she starts throwing food around remove her from the table.
6 weeks to vegasGrin!

We were at our friends wedding yesterday, it was a fab day. We are lounging about in bed today, recovering from yesterday's over indulgenceWink.

Hope everyone is well. X

Blizy Alice is incredibly messy at the table, if I got her out before I got industrial style cleaning on her and taking her bibs off, she will just get food from her hands etc all over the room Hmm .

Went to a new music group with Alice this morning, in a church hall on the naicest private road in town - was full of bugaboos in the hall and porche 4x4s in the car park Hmm , bit too naice even for me Wink and no great chit chat opportunities, have managed to join only on a pay as you go basis (which I'm not suppose to I'm just sneaky ) so I don't have to go every week.

Thanks reastie, it is a dress, just a simple black one with a shrug and brown bow belt. It was second choice as Alfie ripped the dress I boughtAngry.

Hey everyone,

Been stupid busy here so just checking in before I hurl myself back into the madness that is RL Grin Hmm

Coat still doesn't bloody fit reastie, my size 14 and 4 inches shorter sister tried it on and it's only a bit too big for her. Am cross. Angry

Christ, I'd thought youse had all fecked off to Facebook Grin

hubbard lovely to hear from you, am sure you are doing a fab job and we too have had some just charming tantrums Hmm

debka loads of clothes in the same size or even a size bigger from different shops never fit me. Mr W bought me a coat from Zara a few years ago and it will never fit me even though I'm much thinner now than when I first got it Hmm I keep trying it on in vain, its too pretty to get rid of.

reastie take the food of her as soon as she starts - A puts food in her mouth then lets it drop out [shudder] She does it once, she's told off, twice - the food is taken off her until she stops.

blizy yesterday sounds lovely Envy Grin

Right will catch up later, off to try and get organised for curriculum evening in the girls school, have to try and put an effort in - some of the P1 parents are very serious about education - imagine Grin

Hi all, just posting from the garage as my car packed in today Angry In fact it's been a crappy day in general, A didn't sleep last night so ended up in with me with dp on the fold out bed, then the car broke and I spent this morning waiting for rac and getting it into the garage Angry now forking out for new tyres and more. An trying to stay positive... Um, at least it's not raining Grin

Hubbard wowsers to the weight loss, well done! Glad you and the 2 little'uns are soon well, and that Tom sounds like he's doing better?

Reastie good advice from wiggles there, A still lobs her food sometimes so we say 'no' and take it from her, however she finds it hilarious Hmm

Blizy agree you look lovely on that pic and I am Envy of your nice relaxing sounding day Smile

Better go, booking Car back in for Wednesday grr.

Hello Monday! Well done on keeping it all together and losing all that weight Hubbard! You have done a fab job.

Blizy - you looked lovely in that photo with dh!

Go and add the voice of common sense to the curriculum evening wiggles. Your input will probably be the most useful.

You have also done brilliantly with the weight loss debka. I'm in awe of how well you have done. I haven't lost a thing, no matter how often I walk to school/shops. I bought the shred which you were all raving about last year but it's still in the cellophane at the moment!

Samuel also likes to throw food on the floor reastie. We just take the plate away from him, then take him away from the table if he persists after a second chance. Or I distract him and then he forgets what he was doing and starts eating properly again. Smile

So sorry about the car Ponyo. Being without can be such a pain at times. Have you taken A on the tram yet, or the buses? Does she think it's an adventure? Hope you get it all sorted soon.

S is doing a great version of head, shoulders, knees and toes at the moment. He does make me laugh!

Hope your Monday evenings are going swimmingly. Smile

Hiya

I had grannysapples window man come over today to give a price for new windows. He asked how I had heard of him and luckily he didn't ask the name of the recommendation, I would have looked a bit random saying 'yes, my 'friend' called grannyapple' Grin

ponyo how's the car (dare I ask) ? What a rubbish day. I hate days like that.

wiggles curriculum evening?! What does that entail?

deb H&M sizes are mad. I've said it before but it's true, they are the worst for odd sizes IMO - I have always varied in there by about 3 sizes whenever I've been in, it's most frustrating as I have to take so much into the changing room as I never know how it's going to come up. I have an H&M mac which is size 20 which only just fitted when I was a size 16.

Went to gym and burnt over 460 kcals today . No idea if this is much for fit types but tis good work for me.

Hello, well after my crap day yesterday I have had a good one today, I have news.... I had a job interview and GOT IT!! I only told dp, my mum and one friend as I thought I'd jinx it if I told lots of people Hmm but hooray! Its working with children affected by domestic violence so will be working closely with social services (ledkr) It is nearly full time so means more nursery for A but is a bit more money which will be good when A is at school.

reastie I got my car back this afternoon, I missed having it but it did mean I've done a lot of walking, no wonder I used to be skinny before I started driving Grin I think 460 cals sounds a lot too? Well done!

deb agree with Reast about H&M, the sizes are weird Confused Good luck tonight. You'll be in that fecking coat before you know it!

tadj A likes the tram Grin and can now say "tram!" excitedly when we see one. I took her on the bus once when she was small and it was traumatic (for me, bloody pushchair and unhelpful people) so have never taken her on again! I like taking her on the tram into town now, I don't bother with the pushchair so she walks or I carry her. Once she nearly ran off the tram as the doors were closing with me sat down inside Shock Love the image of doing head, shoulders... A loves it but just laughs when I sing it, she s quite happy to watch me do it by myself Hmm

Ooh reastie A had a massive strop this morning and chucked her full bowl of crispsies on the floor, milk and all, because she asked for 'bix' (weetabix) instead. My face was like this Angry. I just ignored her and cleaned it up then gave her some bloody bix which she ate. She'd been awake since 5.30 so think she was tired but god its beyond annying isn't it, I was pleased to drop her off at nursery!

Off to clear up then get ready for the great british bake off, night all!

Congrats ponyo on the new job...well done!

Not been up to much here...just on the treadmill of N, work, home etc... Got family down visiting next w/e for 4 nights...nice to see them but means N in with us during that time & he is a complete fidget a**e in his sleep so might be a tired grumpy zombie by the time the go!

Oh & ledkr I get on well with MIL but could not stomach a holiday with her...& would prefer to keep it that way!! Time is precious esp in holiday so spending it with them would not wash with me tbh...

I'm a bit in shock - someone I was at school with (we weren't great friends but she was a lovely person) died today giving birth Shock Sad . Just puts everything into perspective really.

granny quote was about £14/15000 for all the windows. We aren't sure whether to go with him or the other guy but her certainly seemed pretty good. No rush to decide as we don't have the money to pay for it yet (getting it in the next month or so)

Thanks for the nice comments re: my gym session (no I didn't eat a mars deb). I'm there an hour and work bleeding hard!! I can only get there about twice a week at the min so have to make it count!

Oh reastie, how awfully sad Sad. That's what happened to my mum when she was giving birth to meSad.

Remember I said my friend was in hospital with a possible tumour/blood clot? Well, she has the all clear (thank god), however she has some sort of brain malfunction that will need surgery. It is not life threatening thankfully. what a relief!

Sad that's so awful reastie. Her poor family too. It definitely gives you pause for thought. Thanks

Glad your friend is ok on the one count blizy. Fingers crossed for the surgery.

Hello Granny, hope all the visits go well!

Glad A likes the tram Ponyo I'm still a fan myself we only have 3 minibuses here!

Hope you are all having good evenings.

ponyo congratulations on the new job, lovely news Grin

reastie that's very sad, how heartbreaking for her family.

A curriculum meeting is exactly what it says on the tin Grin, all the parents head into their childs classroom and get a run down on what the kids are doing for the school year/how you can help them and the teachers Grin. S is moving on from dinosaurs later this month and onto WWII and evacuees in particular. Mr W was actually free for the meeting - he usually avoids them like the plague, afraid he might bump into some sketchy characters he has met via work, but he sucked it up and went to the P1 talk - which consisted of reading to the kids, reading some more and then when you're fed up with it read some more Grin

Nice brother-in-law is coming home for Christmas (yay) - he has never seen Anna, so he's staying with us from Christmas Eve to New Years Eve (Mr W is working over Christmas so I'm doing the entertaining Shock - just going to ply him and his wife with lots of drink and let them get on with it)

Completely forgot to congratulate you on the job, Ponyo - well done!

Sounds like it could be fun over Christmas wiggs, hope you enjoy it!

Good luck with the year end stuff granny and hope it calms down for you soon.

Hi all, I'm just heartbroken by the death of the girl who I was at school with. I didn't even really know her that well at school but she always seemed so lovely, and, let's face it, we've all given birth, it could have been any of us. Just found this article about her and am now in tears Sad . Sorry not wanting to lower the mood to ponyos new job but it's just so sad.

ponyo massive congrats - is this the start of onwards and upwards to new things and a new house?!

granny you MUST let me know how the windows go next w/e - I need to know if they are still good Grin

blizy glad about your friend (well, not, but glad it's not the worst IYKWIM)

Had to do a fasting blood test this morning - was so hungry!! At least it's done though. Have to wait a week to see if there's anything wrong with me Confused

ponyo well done on the job, that's marvellous :)

blizy what a relief about your friend. When does DH get his results?

Imogen had her first Play Date today, I think S did more playing than she did, Imy can be a right whingeing Mummy's girl. Then cried when we had to leave! She nearly put her tooth through her lip yesterday, has a massive black lump on her lip now with a black bruise on her chin too, looks awful!

Had a lovely lunch out with himself today, went to Wagamamas in Canterbury and pretended to be students Grin
