Giddy1- can offer some reassurance on the weight bearing front i know loads of babies who have shown no interest in it until they were passed the 1 year mark - have to say i'm Envy! thinks it a case of the grass is greener syndrome! right now i'd love a baby who justs sits there rather than one who can get spot an open baby gate in secs and then is up the stairs before you can say A-n-n-a-l-i-s-e!

we still have major sleep issue in the katz household, dd2 goes down at about 7 then wakes for a feed soemtime between 11pm and 2am and from then she can wake upto 3 more times before our day starts at 7am! i'm pretty sure its because she is soooo active, she seems to need the milk, if she sleeps through one feed, then i know about it!

sfx, no teeth here! Perhaps we should have a prize for last Junie to get a tooth, I think Coop's dd2 was first ... Doesn't sound promising if one of your deputies is leaving from stress, there is no way I could cope with a stressful job at the moment. Hope things work out for you.

Katz - you must be shattered, I thought our babies' sleep was meant to be improving as they close in on one! Argh.

katzg · 25/04/2006 09:04

i would offer to run a sweepstake but my dream job has come up at work i have to pull together a fantastic all singing all dancing CV and somehow cover up that i only have 18 months well 2 years if you count 6 months maternity leave! experience when in fact 5 years would be better! i want it and i will sulk big time if i don't get it, the worse bit if i don't is that the job is where i currently work so i will have to be nice to who ever does get it! its s permenant contract, which can be part time in the first instance but as the course grows so can the job into full time which should coincide with DD2 going to school - see its just perfect!

hello good morning, today its a holiday in portugal so i will celebrate freedom day! out with the fascists long live the revolution!Grin sorry!

anyway katz i hope you get that job its sounds ideal.

my job saga, well have been in touch with colleagues who tell me things are hard lots of cuts (so whats new?) and two who asked for flexible working got very little. so i have resigned myself to the fact that we will be poorer and i will be working fulltime in a very stressful job. i will still ask for job share option to be explored. dh is resigning and will stay at home he will probably be doing some e-learning and other IT related jobs, hope it works - thanks for indulging me i know i have had more maternity leave than most and we are refusing the paid chilcare option but still i am finding this hard.

we have been spending a fair amount of time at kew gardens, now that the weather is better. dd has developed a passion for flowers and wildlife, she wants to throw herself at the pidgeons, geese, ducks and swans, gets really excited throwing them food. we cant walk more than two paces because she wants to touch every tree, shrub, etc
have a nice day all

Hi Ladies,
I wanted to have a pop in to say hello. I am a terrible Junie and I am deeply ashamed. Hope you are all well. I’ve been lurking on and on off when I have the time in a poor attempt to keep up.

Well, DS is coming on in leaps and bounds. I also get the “big fat porker” type remarks. He’s not fat, just very “solid”. Looking at his dad, it’s not a particular surprise. He has a grand total of 3 teeth, doing lots of cruising, shouting, getting into everything he shouldn’t. We are trying to teach him “no” at the moment. He turns round, gazes at us, then carries on with whatever he was doing.

I’m still working full time, its still going well, although my line manager, who I get on really well with, is moving on Sad. Not sure if its going to be as enjoyable with him gone. We’re such a small team (basically 2 of us) that its really imperative to work with someone you can work successfully with.

Katz, good luck with the job.

Trib, could you do me a favour on the stats page. I know it’s a silly thing, but stupidly, I put my surname on there. Could you take it off for me, cheers my dear.

Hope you are all well and happy and your little ones are still thriving. I cant believe they’re nearly 1!!!!!

katzg · 26/04/2006 14:00

ahh i'm tired and fat!

nothing more to add really just wanted to moan!

has two bottom teeth that she has had for a few months now but her fangs have decided to appear before her top front 2? iyswim?

feels like she is forever falling or bumping herself and hurt her mouth this morning Sad she will turn out to be a right bruiser/tomboy i think . just how her dad wanted her -footie mad Smile

katzg- what can i say hospitals are bloody useless and i hope you get things sorted soon. sure your not as fat as you think and i know all about being tired but im lucky that i dont have any sleep problems with dd3 hope you get your job hun x ((hugs))

giddy - i really wouldnt worry too much about dd1 , my dd3 is very tiny too and is on 25th centile , she weighed 17lb 4 weeks ago but is putting on roughly 3/4lb a month , i was getting worried too but some babys arent big .

sfxmum - hope you sort your work saga out x

Hello all
Time for a quick catch up. I hate not having a cleaner as I now have no Mumsnet time Wink.
Giddy - dd2 only gained 4oz in 6 weeks. HV said to feed her more solids. I tried and she has caught up a bit now. I hate those charts. They can make you feel so crappy. Also my friends baby was hardly crawling by 12 months but was walking by 18mths. She was just not bothered and more than happy to sit and watch everything. All considered 'normal' what ever that means.
Kat - Can't believe crappy hospital. Grrr.
DD2 was up four times again last night, having good b/feeds every time. I can't get anymore food in her during the day to stop this although I have to say that I believe teeth are the culprit again.
DD1 will not go to bed at the moment. I think it is too light outside. She is being such a tinker that we totally lost it last night and dh threatened to put all her toys in the garage if she didn't stay in bed........so all her toys are in the garage.....sigh. How ridiculous. Tonight I am putting dark paper over the glass and standing outside and putting her back in bed without speaking to her a la Supernanny. Fingers crossed. It is awful not to have our evenings as she has always been so good about going to bed so it has come as a real shock. And she is tired as I am having to wake her in the mornings....
Anyway, have to dash as dd2 is awake again and I will have to collect dd1 from nursery soon.
Take care all.

Hi all,

Another one doing the occasional lurking but not posting much at the moBlush.
Hope everyone is well and enjoying their babies-can't believe they are nearly a year old already.Where has the time gone!
I'm really enjoying being a SAHM-feels like I haven't "worked" in ages,hee heeGrin.
Ds is absolutely wonderful, has only 2 teeth(which his had for a couple of months),and is still very nearly crawling. He gets into the right position, then just rolls over.If he really wants to get to something,he drags himnself across the floor. Was a bit worried at first with him not crawling as I thought it might have something to do with his Talipes, but I've stopped worrying-it'll happen in all good timeSmile.Haven't had him weighed for a few weeks. He was 22lb's about 6 weeks ago, then he had Gastroenteritis and lost loads of weight,so I've no idea what he is now. Will be taking him to the clinic hopefully on Friday, after I've been weighedGrin.
I'm doing really well on my diet and have now lost nearly 3 stone.I tried on my entire wardrobe yesterday and have 68 items of clothing that are all too big for me....and will be EbayedGrin.
My brother is getting married in 3 weeks time, and I haven't even bought my outfit yet,as I don't know what size I will be.Also got to get Oscar a little outfit tooSmile.
Lots of love to you all.xxx

when i think of summer i just think of festivals goood all glasto and reading but these days they have Kylie!!!the world is doomed!

hope you are all well hugs

JonahB · 28/04/2006 11:13

ooh Katz, I would love to go and see Take That. You'll have such a good time there.

I've just been for a pain killer/steroid injection into my shoulder this am. Currently contemplating working, but can't as I'm as high as a kite, randomly giggling to myself and trying to kid myself that I'm not loving every minute. So, this is why people get addicted to painkillers is it?

Best try and straighten myself up. Good job i work from home.....

welshmum · 28/04/2006 11:16

Hi Junies,
I haven't posted here for ages - I just couldn't keep up anymore. Back on mumsnet a bit more now.
Hope you're all doing well with the lovely babes. Ds is such a treasure, cruising, desperate to walk and trying to say words too. He's wonderful. Love to yours xxx

teabelly · 29/04/2006 20:42

Evening ladies Smile

Welshie Shock welcome back sweetie, lovely to hear from you again. Good to hear ds is doing well, hope to hear more from you from now on Wink

Just a flying visit, in the middle of packing bags for hols next week, and desperately trying to clean house so it's nice for when we come back, but I got sidetracked and spent the last two hours with a glass or two (well ok three Blush) of wine looking back at ds's baby photo's and comparing them to dd's - my word but they're the spit of eachother Grin... so if I ever finish the packing I shall be away until 17th May, be good and have fun Wink and I'll catch up with you then Smile x

tribpot · 30/04/2006 19:26

Picture the scene. My ds is happily amusing himself in the room next door, I am popping my head round every few minutes to check on him.

I think "hmm, I can hear he's near the door but I can't see him" and go in ... to find him on the third or fourth step on his way up the stairs ... HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?! I have no idea how he learnt it, but it was seriously scary! We tested him later to make sure it wasn't a one-off, and sure enough, he can get up on to the next step like nobody's business. I'm thinking a stair gate or two might help ...

2Happy · 30/04/2006 20:40

Lol, Trib! We had a similar situation a bit ago! Now we have stairgates, so his current games are safely on the ground floor (posting toys through the cat flap or putting them in the bath - caused dh some surprise one morning to find the bath full of bits and pieces!)

katzg · 01/05/2006 08:16

stairs are a fun actvitiy in our house too! although dd2 likes to climb 2 stirs then turn round and smile!

Well sleep has gone completely to pot and was all set to start tring the no-cry sleep solution and then we go and get another cold and high temp!

DD2 is quite different to DD1 when ill, a slight snuffle and DD2 has a temp of 39°C, where as DD1 rarely has a temp, i must make a note of these things to bring them up at the childrens hospital next time we are there not sure if they are related to her skin condition, which is actuaky a whole body condition just manifested at the skin. Just wish there was another mumsnetter with a baby with this thing so we could chat about it!

sfxmum · 01/05/2006 20:37

hello all hope you had a nice bank holiday weekend

pretty glad i don't have stairs, enough dangers as it is around hereShock she is just so mobile.

dd now has 2 teeth, both sprouted at once, not much hassle just some dribbling, sleeping fine i am glad to report

katz i hope you find someone to share your concerns with, i would certainly feel the same.

have meeting at work tomorrow wish me luck
take care all

amyjade · 02/05/2006 10:14

I ladies have some good news for you all.

I'm Pregnant !! Just over 9 weeks.:)

Dd2 will be 17 months when this baby is born not that i'm worried it will be so nice to give her a brother or sister to grow up with after the loss of her big sister Freya.

Any other June mums expecting or thinking of trying for another baby?

mcmudda · 02/05/2006 10:20

Wow! Amyjade - congratulations!!

THere are 17 mths between dh and his brother and they got on fine together. Dont' know how I'd cope washing 2 lots of nappies though Grin

Dh and I are not allowed to even mention having a third until dd is at least one. I got pg with dd the week ds turned 2 and that's been a good gap for us. I'm only 29 so don't have to panic too much yet I guess.

Bubbaloo · 02/05/2006 10:28

Congartulations Amyjade-really pleased for youGrin.xxx

MrsWednesday · 02/05/2006 10:35

Brilliant news Amyjade, congratulations!

katzg · 02/05/2006 10:44
