sfxmum · 21/04/2006 15:20

hello allSmile
after quite a nice easter am back dealing with returning to work stuff. gosh its depressing!Sad
they are making noises that it will be difficult to accommodate my request...'someone at your level...yada yada..difficult..yada yada...maybe lower rank yada yada...'
have meeting on 2nd of may to settle whatever may be possible. god it depresses me! i must do extra running to keep me from sinking

sorry about the self indulgent rant just got off the phone with them.

hope everyone is OK, sorry mumma3 that you having a difficult time with ex hope it works mostly for dd1 sake.

eym - blessing sounds nice any excuse for a good get together, would that be along with his birthday?

take care all

tribpot · 23/04/2006 11:05

Just a quicky all, hope you are having a good weekend.

The latest arrival in the tribpot clan put in his appearance on Friday - my oldest SIL had her ds3 at 9 p.m.

A first draft of our Junie birthday stats is \link{http://homepage.ntlworld.com/phancy/Junies.htm\here} - was thinking about taking off the due date as I am not sure that's really relevant any more, what do you think?

MrsW - since your ds2 likes soil and my ds likes eating leaves, we can start shopping at the garden centre and then share the produce out Grin Hoping to see you all again soon, your ds must like my ability to carry on a conversation with him despite having no idea what he's talking about half the time.

sfx - hope it works out for you, why employers can't just get with the programme and accept they have to deal with working mothers (and indeed fathers) is beyond me.

Should our next northern Junie meet-up be sans enfants as MrsW suggests?

katzg · 23/04/2006 11:59

hello

trib - could we on the stats list as you suggested get rid of the due date but maybe add there weights at 1 year. just out of interest!

Well the trip to the childrens turned into something boardering on a farce! we were sent for blood tests which the blood testing unit couldn't do so told to see GP who you guess it referred us back to the childrens hospital! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh no closer to getting rid of the red blotchyness and what will happen in the future. but have been given some antihistamines if it flares up, which is doesn't do it just always like that!

OP posts:
tribpot · 23/04/2006 12:18

Yup, thought about the weight thing katz, we could have a sweepstake on which baby had put on the most weight over the year :) Will busy mummies be able to get to baby clinic, or shall we use home measurements if need be?

Your trip to the hospital sounds ghastly, how on earth could they not perform blood tests which the GP supposedly could do?

katzg · 23/04/2006 18:09

crazy isn't it! can't believe that there wasn't someone available at the childrens! guess we will be going back again!

Home weights will be fine, although we might struggle with either!! baby clinic is on my work days so will have to send DH!

teabelly · 23/04/2006 22:06

Hi there fellow junies Smile

just a quickie...

Katz Sad at the hospital, grrrr. Hope you get more statisfying help/results soon!

SFX - good luck with the talks with work (I know they're not this week but we shall be away when you have them).

Trib - hope your hospital trip was ok?? Thanks for the update on the stats - where have they all gone?!Sad. Bet my dd has to be up there in the greatest weight gain stakes !! Grin

Had better go, I need to get ready and dd will be stirring soon (are we the only ones still having to do a 10.30 feed??) DD's better than an alarm clock with regards to feeds - and also never misses a feed she thinks she's due Wink. Hope to catch up better during the week when I'm at work and actually have time to myself, he he he Grin

Sad my baby is going to be the smallest I think!!!! can we have loads of "LOSER" prizes in chocky buttons so that I can fatten her upfrom 16lb 6oz

HV told me off for not coming to see her earlier as Jess had only put on 4oz in 8 weeks. I explained that I am really struggling to get her to take any milk at all..... blah blah bloody blah I thought.
On the plus side she loves her food. All home cooked meals are demolished . I just need to add in a few extra cals and make sure she is getting plenty of fat and calcium etc.
Sleeping all night for the last 3 weeks or more. Now that is heaven.
I even have a great sex life again yayyyyyyyyyyyy Grin
Yorky ...Hi hunny. We did a flying visit to Tadcaster to see Lees old chums and family etc. on saturday . We are deffo coming back for a holiday (going to rent in the centre of York near where we got married) so if you can get to york or somewhere near or maybe we can come to you , will catch up with you babe. I want a hug!!!!!
lots of love to you all
xxx

giddy1 · 24/04/2006 10:16

oops mentioned his name Blush

giddy1 · 24/04/2006 10:18

oh and when is the blessing yorky?

teabelly · 24/04/2006 11:19

Giddy my friend's little one is also very small for her age, and her HV advised adding butter to veggies to add calories as ovbiously per ounce butter/cheese have tons more calories for lo's than plain veggies - and to me it tastes better Wink mind you that may have something to do with being a cheese monster!Grin

lua · 24/04/2006 12:25

Giddy - Just thought I should mention that my DD was that small at one year, and continues to be tiny! She eats as much as every other kid at nursery, and is as smart as can be!
As my DH always like to said: - 50% of the populations has to be bellow average!
Don't worry as long as she is healthy!

Sfx - Good luck with work and with running! Truly impressed with you! I am weak! Just decided I'll never get my butt running, so am trying the "chemical" way now, IYSWIM....

giddy1 · 24/04/2006 16:21

Thanks for that Tea and Lua.
Even though I have been really impressed with her development, I couldn't help being preoccupied with the notion that I was going wrong somewhere. Everyone gasps and says "Isn't she tiny"
My friends daughter who is 17 and has a baby herself of 4 months even said "Aren't you feeding her? My baby is only a pound lighter" Blush
I am really pleased with her though and she is a smart little cookie Grin

2Happy · 24/04/2006 16:24

Hum. I think the last thing ds could ever be described as is small.... But he wasn't small when he was born so I doubt he'd break any records for weight gain. He has currently decided that a marvellous new game is, rather than shove everything he can find into his mouth, much better to shove it in my mouth - fistfuls of soil, paper, the remote control. Tasty Wink

2Happy · 24/04/2006 16:29

x-posts Giddy! As you say, surely if she is happy and developing well and you have no concerns that's the most important thing? Why make you panic because she happens to be small, you've said she eats well. Small is beautiful etc etc (and besides, if she was big then you just get the endless "my, isn't he big, what are you feeding him, gosh he looks just like his daddy..." comments!Angry)

katzg · 24/04/2006 18:16

DD1 was tiny she was a 25% baby but is now huge and a 90%

OP posts:
teabelly · 24/04/2006 20:22

Katz, both my dd and ds were born on the 25%...and both are giant 98'ers now ShockGrin...dd's new game is rolling away during a nappy change and then crawling all over the place to prevent the application of a new clean nappy, and today as she did so I caught sight of her derriere and I have to say, bless her, that I wasn't sure where the folds of leg stopped and folds of bum started Shock sometimes small is very definitely best Grin lets hope for her sake she burns some extra calories with all that vigorous crawling action Wink

tribpot · 24/04/2006 20:39

I get loads of comments about what a big porker ds is, and he's only on the 60th Shock

Some babies are big, some babies are small, the whole range is normal! Remember (as I have said before) my poor half-starved adopted nephew and niece were not even on the bottom centile when they were adopted. That is a very different affair.

However, giddy, just for you, we shall have a "smallest weight gain" prize!

sfxmum · 24/04/2006 21:21

hello allSmile
my so far toothless dd seems to be sprouting a toothGrin just felt it while rubbing her gum.
(is she the last Junie to get teeth?)

tea - dd also usually has a night feed, anytime between 10.30 and 12 or so, otherwise she sleeps quite well, most of the time.

lua - thanks for encouragement. i remember when i had clinical depression, all those years ago, chemicals help. although since i am prone to falling down the dark deep pits i do what works to keep me afloat and running/ exercise is it.

tea, lua trib thanks for support regarding work, lets see how it works. just had email from one of my deputies saying he is leaving soon, too much stressSad

giddy - my dd is on the small side too, long and lean, would not worry if otherwise she is doing well. all shapes and sizes really.

katz - useless hospital. complete waste of time.
my sister is a nurse and she keeps ranting about how nhs managers make the service delivery so inefficient

giddy1 · 24/04/2006 21:27

I know Trib {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}
I think it worries me because DD1 was way below the normal range but it was all associated with her underlying condition.
Jess has fallen from the 25th then stayed on the 9th for quite a long time which I presume is normal for her. She has now slipped off a bit so is on the 2nd centile.
I am still worrying about her lack of weight bearing too. Does anyone else have a baby who won't stand or straighten their legs?
I think I am just a bit oversensitiveBlush
She really really is smart. So I am not in the slightest bit concerned about cognitive delay .
