had a look at the lovely shoes but £30! oh lordy.
think dh will start having fits, he has no idea how much girly things cost quite touching really.

he says we need to have another baby in order to get the best value out of all the stuff purchased
bless his little scottish wollen socksGrin

may your afternoon go fast now

katzg · 10/04/2006 15:03

Skyler · 11/04/2006 10:23

Hello all. I am stil here.
Cute shoes Katz.
SFX - is that your dd? How cute!
We had a fabulius weekend away seeing Mamma Mia and leaving the children for the first time. Eeek! Was great. Left at 1130 for lunch out and was back by 1930 to put them to bed. The grandparents were exhausted but had a great time. My boobs were like rocks though.
Still no joy on the sleeping here. Seems to be getting worse as she isn't getting back to sleep like she used to. Have to dash. Bye for now.

Skyler · 11/04/2006 10:24

Sorry for typos. Must learn to preview now I have broadband and it is so quick.

giddy1 · 11/04/2006 10:38

Hi everyone.
DD1 was sent home from respite care with seizures and vomiting at 7 a.m and all because she said "no" to her medication. She says no to me all the time but I still make her take it (otherwise she would be having fits all the time ) GGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
I love the baby sfx in the window. That is an amazing picture!!!!!
Skyler. Glad to hear you enjoyed your date with your DH. I am itching to go out now. I have been the otherway and not wanted to be seen.
I had a new fancy hairdo on saturday...allsorts of chocolate browns with copper sections through it. It has made me feel loads better.
Actually while I was at the hairdressers (1 minute walk from my front door)I rang dh to tell him I was going to be another hour as I was being spoilt and pampered with head massage and a free tanning session etc etc and he announced that I had a wonderful cooked breakfast to come home to. Bless him he had taken the girls shopping to buy it all in , made bread in the machine and fresh coffee and was really dissapointed that they had to sit and eat it without me. Then just as I was paying he walked up with the girls to meet me and little Jessy was beaming because he had pushed her there in her little bubble car thingy...aaawwwwwwww
DD1 has been a lot easier to manage with all the extra support we have had and DH is on a week holiday now. Just a shame DD1 was sent home from respite care.
Havent done anything with the bathroom now ,too difficult under the circumstances.
lots of love

lua · 11/04/2006 10:47

Sfx - I am sorry to break the news to you DH, but the second one could be a lad....

THe moment my DH found out we were having a boy he immediatly stop buying anything pink for DD, poor thing! Now, it turns out they are already just about the same size Shock so hes has given up the whole idea of passing clothes and bikes down....

Lummox - We are a bilingual family, but I am also being too lazy lately. DD understands pretty much everything in portuguese, but only speaks little and with a horrible accent. The problem is that I am the only one speaking in the house, and She knows I can speak english because that is what I talk with DH....
In your case should be really easy to keep one language at home, and one outside. Have lots of friends like this and they do brilliantly!

Skyler - very Envy of your day out! but happy for you! you certainly deserve it!

Katz - Echo! Echo! Smile

katzg · 11/04/2006 11:19

Hello Junies. All is calm in the Wednesday house so I'd thought I take the chance to catch up with everyone here.

Skyler, so pleased you are back online.

2happy, sorry to hear about your dh's grandpa.

Had a lovely mini Northern meet-up the other week with Trib, KVG and their lovely babies and DHs. Perhaps next time we could do it without the kids, we'd have more time for nattering! Even though it was a bit chaotic (caused especially my two DSs, sorry Blush) it was really nice. DS1 is quite taken with Trib, keeping asking when he's going to see you again Grin Mamatuks, hope everything is ok and that you'd just got lost in York?

No walking here yet (love the shoes Katz) but DS2 is a speedy crawler...particularly towards a plant that we've foolishly placed on the floor. His taste for soil is unabated but the cheeky bugger has taken to shaking his head when presented with some home-cooked offering. Perhaps I should make life easier for myself and just give him compost?

EYM, so pleased things are picking up for you. Are you on for another Northern meet at some point, would be lovely to see you?

Giddy, as always I'm so completely in awe of your energy and strength.

Sfxmum, that picture is absolutely brilliant.

Well I really should go to bed but I'm enjoying having a night off from cleaning, decorating and general chores - have had far too much wine for a school night!

sfxmum · 12/04/2006 08:14

hello juniesSmilefeeling weirdly sunny today, most unlike me these good moods!

mrsW - the eating habits of the near toddlerGrinmust say those northen gatherings sound nice, hope we manage a decent turn out for london zoo in july

katz- enjoy your easter break with your cute little walker in her pretty shoes(i can't wait to go buy some for mine)

lua - we have bought mainly unisex clothes, besides i don't think dd's colouring suits pink. we leave the pink and frilly purchases to family and friends.

giddy- enjoy your dh's break. you are just so strong!

skyler - glad you enjoyed your break, i am yet to leave the child, not quite sure when or even how to do that

2happy- hope things are more settled in your family. how is gran?

eym- its great that you feel better, just take it easy and enjoy. might seem glib but really better weather helps with general uplifting of spirits

lummox-how goes the cup training and imparting of french?

been out for my little morning run. hope to spend most of the day at kew gardens with my sister and her teens, that is if she manages to haul them out of bed/playstation/pc (apparently my 15yr old niece is a moderator at an artic monkeys fansiteShock)
must groom them for babysitting jobs in years to come.
have a nice day all
oh yes cheers for nice comments on my little monkey, she spends ages at that window these days

lummox · 12/04/2006 08:41

Hi all,

sfxmum and lua, interesting to hear how you are going about the language thing. We don't really speak any French at home, but it is all ds hears when we are out and about. he has started to look surprised when me or dh speak French to people (which I have chosen to put down to him learning the difference between the sounds of the two languages rather than shock at our poor accents). we're assuming/hoping that when he goes to school, which will be at about 2 and a half he will pick up French and not be at any disadvantage after a while.

cup training is going very slowly as we've had an attack of teeth (numbers 7 and 8 - aarggh) so I've not really wanted to deprive him of his bottle. am just a bit worried that i will keep coming up with excuses.

giddy - sorry to hear the respite ended early.

Mrs W

Katz - dead cute shoes. i've just ordered some Daisyroots ones which someone recommended on another thread. we tried ds in leather ones but he hated them and dedicated his life to getting them off.

Skyler - glad you enjoyed your trip.

2happy - glad that it was ok having the baby at the funeral and wake.

teabelly · 12/04/2006 13:35

Afternoon ladies Smile

Mrs W - te he he at ds2's food of choice Smile dd has an affection at the moment for baby wipes Shock can't open a pack near her without one being speedily grabbed between podgy fingers and stuffed into her open mouth with a triumphant giggle! Grin

Quite agree with SFX the northern meets sound fab. We (the teabellies) are still definitely coming to the zoo, hope lots of the junies can make it Smile

2Happy, glad you decided to take ds in the end. Hope you're Gran's recovering. He he he re the comments about size of ds, at least you have an excuse, both dh and I are average size - our two have both been huge babies, the other day I had a lady ask 'really, she's only 10 months old?!' 3 times like she was just checking incase I'd got it wrong WinkGrin

Lummox, your ds's surprised look sounds like the look either of my children give me when I sing to them. I am very aware of the fact that I'm completely tone deaf and sounds like a farmer (thanks to my oxfordshire twang) but really it's awful when children that can't even speak yet are imploring you to shut up ShockGrin

Skyler - mama mia is just fab isn't it? Despite my complete lack of ability (see above) I sang my little heart out all the way through Smile. Glad you had a good break away from the girls.

Giddy oooh your pampering session sounds fab. The image of Jess in her little car is so sweet Smile

Katz have a good break away. DD2's shoes are lovely, Amber keeps trying to put hers on when she thinks it's time to go out, and failing that she's decided that they make a tasty alternatve to baby wipes Grin

SFX - fab piccy Smile I know nothing about these things but my niece says your niece has good music taste! Wink

Ought to go now - should be working, but the boss is away, so I may have to just check out some of the other boards...Wink

giddy1 · 16/04/2006 11:06

2Happy · 16/04/2006 15:01

Happy Easter everyone. Smile
dh, ds and I just got back from grandma's house - she got out of hospital on thursday and we went down on friday so that my aunt could get away for the bank holiday weekend. It was pretty tough going. I don't mind the looking after her side of things - can cope with bathing her, getting her to the loo, getting up in the night etc, but just seeing the physical and mental deterioration in her is really sad. She kept asking where my grandpa was - he died 15 years ago Sad It was hard with ds too as he refused to sleep; dh had to drive for miles at every nap time just to get him to drop off! So we're glad to be home now, and I think I will tuck in to my easter egg to unwind! Diet begins tomorrow... Actually, I really must lose weight, lots of weddings this summer and the first is only in 6 weeks! Either I have to lose weight or I'll be wearing a cast iron corset Grin Tooth number 7 is pushing at ds's gum now - it's relentless isn't it?! Oh, and ds is also obsessed with nappy wipe bags, though thankfully he's never managed to get hold of an actual wipe yet lol!

sfxmum · 17/04/2006 23:20

helo all hope you had anice and quiet Easter.
all good here, just been posting some pics of dd on photoalbum.
quite tired now need my bed. in laws coming tomorrow or maybe wednesday, dh not sureShockoh well...
night all

katzg · 18/04/2006 09:46

DD2 has now learnt to clap - yeah, she loves to do if your happy and you know it!

We also had our most sucessful nursery drop off today where she was sat on the floor and just gave me a huge grin and waved goodbye, its so much nicer than leaving a screaming bundle.

OP posts:
sfxmum · 18/04/2006 14:05

hello allSmile

katz - isn't it lovely? dd loves clappin dh spent ages teaching her this, and now she starts clapping when he gets home. and now a round of applause for daddy for managing to find his way home yeah!

in-laws not here yet, apparently driving into london today, may or may not drop in on us todayShockcue frantic tidying up,or has it is known in our house, shove the c*rap out of sight wherever it may fit.
honestly fun busy easter with zero time or inclination for housekeeping.

dd now holds her arms up to be picked up with vigour and intent, dh just goes ah everytime and promptly picks her up. i can't really do the same but its really cute.

take care all

muma3 · 18/04/2006 14:12

mumatuks · 18/04/2006 14:22

wow! I just saw this thread and realised my message must've never got through on the York meet up day.
It all went horribly wrong, my toddler had a turn in the car and was sick everywhere. Sicky smelly car seats. We made it over to York to our friends but I was a mess. had left everything inc. my mobile and the meet up arrangements at my dads house. Luckily I had someones phone number (sorry I can't remember who) and I text. We eventually made it into York and my new shoe type trainers cut into the back of my ankles from walking so far, then it poured down on us. We didn't have the raincover for one of the buggies and ended up buying a brolly from the £1 shop!
I'm so sorry I didn't make it, I was disappointed you must all think I'm so rude! Maybe next time hey?....
Very sorry to all concerned!! oh yeah and my ankles are just about ok!

muma3 · 18/04/2006 15:28

less then 7 weeks til dd3 is 1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ShockShockShockShock

tribpot · 18/04/2006 19:10

Ah, mumatuks, it was me whose phone number you had, I didn't get a message, argh! Glad you are all okay anyway.

And thank you muma3 for the timely reminder I need to get our stats page updated for the upcoming birthdays. Bero's ds will be 1 in a month I think!

Skyler · 18/04/2006 21:33

OMG! How can some of our babies nearly be one? I have to admit dd2 is one of the later Junies born on the 22nd June but even bearing that in mind I can hardly believe it.
We have had a hectic but lovely Easter with visits (overnight) from both my Dad and stepmum and pregnant (step)sister and BIL.
DD1 has been a total monster though. Amazing and spectacular temper tantrums and not wanting to go to bed. Still these things are sent to try us. DD2 seems to have worked out how to get herself to sleep at last and is also at that rocking stage while standing like she is building up to a step before bottling it and collapsing to her knees to crawl. She has started mimicking us in earnest now copying facial expressions and claps and covering her face with her clothes to play peekaboo. Aren't they just gorgeous at the moment?
Hope you are all well and got lots of chocolate over the weekend. I have just bought some Clipper Instant Hot Chocolate and it is delicious. Much nicer than any Cadbury's stuff.
Take care all xx

lua · 18/04/2006 21:42

Hiya skyler! Have been thinking about you the whole easter! Wasn't you our official "easter egg taster" last year?! Now, that I am diabetes free, I decide to follow on your footsteps! I give thumbs up to galaxy egges, and the lindt mini egges! Keep hoping hotel chocolat will have theirs on sale soon...

Hiya everybody else!

katzg · 21/04/2006 08:05

just a quick hello -

we are back at the children's today to see the consultant dermatologist for the second time with DD2's rash, it has got worse so hopefully we will get a more positive answer this time ad hopdefully a treatment.

OP posts:
tribpot · 21/04/2006 08:29

Best of luck, katz, hope you get some good news.

We're off to the hospital as well today, it's all go! (Not for ds although he is a leading expert on Leeds hospitals, the relative merits of the waiting rooms, which nurses make the most fuss of him, etc.)
