Here we go again...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 19/07/2012 13:53

Yep that's the worst thing about this age. I'm quite lucky in that mostly he won't nap at home and goes to bed fairly easily. I let him sleep for 45 mins at nursery though. But only because I don't have to deal with the trauma of waking him up after 45 mins Wink

I would also love someone to take my children off for the morning chul. Although they've been pretty good today in all honesty. Toy Story 2 got me through some housework this morning and the rest I've just done around them.

Showered and dressed for a birthday party now which we will leave for in about half an hour. Unless we walk, which I'm tempted, but then worry about them being to tired for the journey home...I think it's safer to take the car, even though it's only a 15 minute walk.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 19/07/2012 13:55

Oh bollocks to it, we'll walk

Chulita · 19/07/2012 14:57

I'd walk, wears them out more and if the worst happens you can always carry W. B had a mammoth nap yesterday and I let the older 2 jump on my bed while I sorted and cleaned, I got 45mins of stuff done. Still easier if they're out of the house though :)

memphis83 · 19/07/2012 17:27

I cant iron if L is in the house, I iron upstairs and he is iron obsessed so I normally do it on a weekend when dh can occupy him! the whole of the upstairs is tidy but I really need to sort the airing cupboard and the spare room I need to sort out 3 boxes that have no home since moving here as I have a new sewing machine and I want to make the corner of it a sewing corner! My junk drawer has now turned into 2 cupboards...We had nothing to put in it when we moved so I have dumped stuff in them and also we have a storage thing with Ls toys on and the 4 boxes at the top are stuff that have no home tomorrow I mean business!
Been so busy today, a regular customer showed me some dresses she made for her niece they are adorable and I was telling her if we had a girl then she could make me loads or teach me to make them, they were so gorgeous!

Consultant phoned, he is trying to get two bigwig specialists to see me and they cant make next week so they are re arranging for the week after...also has anyone had water infections that didnt go after anti bs, although I feel I lot better my pelvic floor seems temporarily shot to bits and im still in pain!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 19/07/2012 18:13

We walked there at a snail's pace and dh picked us up at the end. He's now gone running so as soon I get the kids to bed I have peace until around 8.30 Grin

I had a water infection once which I thought had gone away without antibiotics but a few days later I wAs almost hospitalised with a kidney infection. Pain to rival childbirth, seriously. I was crying on the floor and having horrendous spasms every 7 seconds and I couldn't even keep water down...remember like it was yesterday!

Chulita · 19/07/2012 19:24

Mine cleared up with antiBs so can't help you there, sorry! I'm a bit envious of your sewing corner, I'd love one of those but the only space is in the dc's playhouse!

mlisc that sounds awful

All of mine are in bed, S hasn't had a single tantrum all day. Seriously, not A Single Tantrum. We've not had a day like this since he was about 11 months old, he's always either whinging or tantruming. Today he was an absolute delight despite not having a nap. Fingers crossed he sleeps later again tomorrow cos I reckon it's all down to that. DH is away (again) so might put a crappy chick flick on and ignore the washing Grin

viksam · 19/07/2012 20:41

chu i really hope you have ignored the washing...........im betting you havent though!
memphis i seriously hope your feeling better.
mylife do you walk W everywhere now? Does anyone else walk their dc's? I still put D in the double buggy, he does walk a long way now but its the coming back thats hard work.
F is still really really hard work and the soya formula doesnt seem to have made any differance yet.........i have a bad feeling that its not going to. He was constipated this morning and i changed three nappies in the space of half hour all weirdly almost white poo, something very odd going on in his tummy i think. He hasnt finished a bottle today. Its really hard to know what he wants, he screams if i approach him with a spoon and has a little go at finger food but mostly cries at that too. I have managed to get a bit in today but not much. I really have no idea what could be wrong.
Im going to my dh's work tomorrow to have my hair semi permanantly curled by the hair students! hope they dont wreck it!! D's last day at the childminders tomorrow so i have to take F with me, hope hes not difficult like he normally is, i naerly didnt go because of how he is but i really want it done. I havent brought anything for the childminder or for D to take with him, i feel really bad now, might have to go to the shop before i drop him.

memphis83 · 19/07/2012 20:50

vik just get her a bunch of flowers?
mlic the doc was concerned it was my kidneys because of the blood but have no kidney pain, I have a friend coming tomorrow who I havent seen in ages, and she is having the day off work for it so cant cancel.
chul im sure it wont work out, I bought the £50 JL machine so that there is less that can be tampered with (and it was cheaper than servicing my other one with a billion settings) and my plan is to leave it set up but I know L will be playing with it within hours!

Chulita · 19/07/2012 21:23

I second the flower idea and a bar of chocolate, who wouldn't happy with that? I did ignore the washing, it'll be so crumpled in the morning though! I should've had a shower but was too tired to do anything other than flake out on the sofa.

Memphis I hope you feel a hundred times better tomorrow so you can enjoy seeing your friend.

Viks poor F, it sounds horrible! Are you getting anything into him at all? He's not on gaviscon is he?
I let S walk a bit or go on his scuttlebug which he loves but keeping track of the buggy, L and him does my head at times so he only ever does half the journey til I shortcircuit then he's back in the buggy. I'd love him to walk more but haven't got the brain power at the mo.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 19/07/2012 21:38

Poor F vik :(

Yes he walks. He will not get in the buggy and hasn't for months. Probably since Easter. He just screams and screams if I try and does the 'rigid back' pose, then if I manage to strap him in he screams all the way to where we're going...it's not worth it! I took it with us to Centre Parks and he dudn't go in it once! It's in the garage in case of emergencies but I don't see me ever needing it again. E went everywhere on his bike by 2 and a half so I predict W will be the same. At least then I'll get where I'm going a lot quicker :)

Woodlands · 19/07/2012 22:44

J still goes in the buggy if bribed with food. I tend to let him walk if it's somewhere within about five minutes walk at my pace (so 20 mins at his pace!).

J has been so happy and cheerful today. My mum brought him a load of cars for his birthday and he just sat and played with them and his new garage that we bought him for absolutely ages, chatting happily to himself. He opened all his presents from my mum with suitable wows and ahs and oohs. His main present from her was a mini micro scooter - lucky boy! He can't really scoot yet but it won't be long.

Hope you feel a bit better tomorrow memph.

DesperateHousewife21 · 20/07/2012 17:00

D loves his buggy so much it's the reason I'm buying a double buggy for when this next baby arrives.
He'll often ask to sit in it, he does love walking/ running around too though he's not lazy he just loves having his own space too and if he walked everywhere it'd take me ages to do anything.

Dh and I are off to the cinema tomorrow to watch spiderman, my parents are looking after D. It'll be during the day but it's still nice to have some 'us' time. I'd rather be watching anything else a different film but never mind, I'll just drag dh round the maternity section of new look afterwards!

memphis83 · 20/07/2012 17:50

L loves his pushchair, but you have to keep moving, as soon as you stop he is out, he can master any harness and get himself out in seconds! but now we have the micro scooter we go down the village on that as he can glide while sitting on the seat, hopefully wont be long until he can navigate his balance bike!
L woke up screaming at 11pm last night, we had ran out of Soya milk too, he had stomach ache but at mums he had been munching on pears and tomatoes from the fridge all day, he has never eaten these two things before (apart from puree as a baby) and I reckon they gave him belly ache due to the sheer volume of tomatoes he was taking, mum didnt even realise until he brought in the empty bowl they were baby plum ones the size of grapes! Shock
My friend came today, she is so clever and been promoted and it made me feel like a stupid nobody, I really want to learn to be something for after L has gone school but dont know what, she really tried to boost my ego doing all the old 'you can be whatever you want to be' hmm really, not once you have kids and your dh goes to work too early and back to late to help with childcare!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 20/07/2012 19:36

What does she do memph? I always feel like that

Maybe theere's something in the water woodlands; W is being very funny and cute tonight. They have come home from nursery (where they have a snack tea at 3.30pm) and eaten a punnet of strawberries, some cheese, some cauliflower cheese and new potatoes (but didn't like the pork) E has had birthday cake and W a yogurt...I think they'll sleep tonight!

memphis83 · 20/07/2012 21:28

She works in engineering in the wind turbine devision I think for Rolls Royce or she used to work for them but she got promoted really high. So proud of her she has worked so hard for years and my longest standing friend and I felt stupid back at school! But only because next to her I am actually stupid!

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/07/2012 06:50

Well after being smug ( never ends well) saying S has been having great lie ins, he woke at half 5 this morning. He had a short nap yesterday so don't know if that had anything to do with it.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, we're off to the cinema for some 'us' time.

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/07/2012 06:50

D not S!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 21/07/2012 08:09

I know the feeling dh - after telling you W never fell out the bed, he did it that very night...and after telling you he'd had no accidents for three days he's had an accident every day since! He's still doing really well though and nursery are also really pleased with how well he's doing.

It's a beautiful morning here. Might cycle to play group in a while.

Vik, what did you decide to do wrt a bed for D? There's always that slim possibility he'll prefer a bed to a cot and sleep better

Spirael · 21/07/2012 08:41

Definitely must be something in the air... M woke at 5:30am too but did go back to sleep without me needing to move. Maybe they can smell the approach of summer? Wink [optimistic]

Anyway, gotta go and get my house immaculate! Open day today. Fingers crossed all please that we find a lovely cash buyer who offers above our asking price! Grin Though a ready to proceed chain buyer offering slightly less would be ok too...

WhatSheSaid · 21/07/2012 08:51

Can I just say 4 fucking 30 am

Luckily it is 7.50 pm here so they are both in bed.

Spirael are you still planning a move to Canada? That was you, wasn't it?

viksam · 21/07/2012 09:44

4.30 wss oh man thats BAD, Did you have to get up then?
mylife we didnt do anything to D's bad because he was having such bad nights we decided to wait, also chu said to wait and i thought i'd better do what i'm told or i'd face her sleep deprived wrath!! We went back to the osteopath on tuesday morning and tuesday night was bad but the last three he has slept through again, no coincidence, it really works i think, she said she could feel that he had tightened up again and he may need to be seen once a month for a few months so we will possibly do that. F has only been waking once for a feed and going back down straight away too so sleep has defo improved here. We are up between 5.30 and 6 though usually with F who has filled his nappy (with vile poo!)
mylife you have a play group on a saturday????U lucky thing! All the groups have stopped now for the holidays, there are other things on but no regular groups so thats it for groups and me cos i'll be back to work when they start up again.
Not got much planned today its meant to be hot hot hot!! Boooooo, id almost rather it rain, the boys arnt goot in the heat! I know i shouldnt moan but its seems to be too hot, too wet, etc theres no middle ground!

WhatSheSaid · 21/07/2012 10:26

I left her till 5 when it became obvious she wasn't going back to sleep so I got up with her then. She'd fallen asleep on the sofa at 6 pm the night before so I think that's why she woke so early.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 21/07/2012 13:15

Yes we do Vik, it used to run term time only but back in my non-working days when I had time to stick my nose in everywhere was a parent rep for Sure Start I asked them to consider running it all year round and they did implement that so it only now doesn't run when there's a bank holiday weekend.

Good news about D

Wss I would be in The Worst Mood Ever if I was woken that early for the day. E woke W up at 2am and then went back to sleep but W wouldn't Angry So typical when I'm going out tonight, but nevermind. He asked to go to the toilet when he woke up so I took him, yet E woke up and had leaked through his pull up all of the bed! Like chalk and cheese at times.

I really wish I had lazy children at times. W now will not go in the buggy, kicks off about going in the car and we just had a row because he wouldn't go in the bike trailer :( I tried to have a stand off with him about it but he won we were getting nowhere so I had to let him walk all the way home. It was either that or manhandle him into it and listen to him scream all the way. Couldn't even be bribed with chocolate. Stubborn, stubborn boy.

WhatSheSaid · 21/07/2012 23:13

I was in the Worst Mood Ever for some of the day! I did go back to bed for a bit when dh got up though. I took them out to the park for a couple of hours in the pm and I actually felt much better after that, the fresh air must have helped.

Today dh got up with them and I slept in till 9! Lovely but I feel sleepy still, my body mustn't be used to this much sleep.

Spirael how was th open day? Are houses selling quite slowly in the UK? I guess it depends where you are.

Rainy Sunday here, will prob take the kids to the library later just to get them out of the house.

Anybody going to any of the Olympics?

viksam · 22/07/2012 07:17

wss i suppose it makes no odds wether you had to get up with her or not you were still awake at that time and that sucks.
mylife i suppose this is where having them so close in age is showing its self, it must be hard when W is behaving older than E (asking for the toilet) not to say anything to E. God did you have to strip the whole double bed in the night?
chu whats sleeping going like there now?
So help me with this conundrum..............am i supposed to be happy that BOTH OF THEM SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!! or pissed off at the 5.15 wake up??? F keeps pooing early in the morning, im convinced he would sleep longer if he didnt. I changed him and tried feeding and rocking and he was falling asleep in my arms but couldnt/wouldnt stay asleep so after almost an hour i gave up and came down. I have left D up there though even though i know he is awake he's quiet so he can stay till the groclock changes.
He is the BIRTHDAY BOY today though so its all about D, we have some stuff for him to open, some pens and musical stuff and a little train and what not. I really cant believe they are all two, im feeling a little emotional!
