Grin spirael do you ever iron anything, what about smart clothes or if you went to a party? im so glad that dh's uniform is t shirts, fleece and utility trousers/shorts.
chul the wet weather front is supposed to shift early next week so we should all get some sunshine.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 18/07/2012 16:26

I won't even sleep in unironed pyjamas Spirael Wink

I took the kids to the playground. Everything was going swimmingly until W stepped off the roundabout and cried. He had sandles on and was holding his foot up so I toolhis shoe off thinking he must have a stone i under foot, but he had a great big blister :( So we came home via a quick stop at Asda for a couple of things.

He is now asleep on my knee [couldn't be more unhappy about that emoticon] But I suppose it's better than listening to 'I poorly mammmmmmmmy' every 5 minutes Wink

Chul that sounds hideous. Have you tried a gro clock? W got up before the sun came up but E who had woken him up in the first place told him it was still night time and they stayed in their bedroom until the sun came up.

Spirael · 18/07/2012 16:51

DH and I only iron under sufferance for special occasions. So for example if we're attending a wedding or something he'll iron his suit and I'll iron my dress or such (if appropriate). Rest of the time, nothing gets ironed at all! It just gets dried carefully so it's flat...enough. [slattern]

We have a gro-clock for M. She sleeps through it changing. Confused Strange child...

OP posts:
MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 18/07/2012 17:06

That's e great thing about them, if they sleep through it it doesn't wake them.

I like the idea of an ironing person...but in the same way I don't think I could let someone come in and clean my house, I don't think I could give someone my clothes. I know. I'm odd.

memphis83 · 18/07/2012 17:11

I could let someone iron my clothes but I would vet it first, like if I had a cleqner I would clean the toilet before they arrive.
I wont hang out my underwear, dh hung it out once and I flipped a lid! Dont want my neighbours seeing my undies

Chulita · 18/07/2012 18:05

I don't hang my knickers out either, we have 4 foot fences.
Mlisc L has a clock and she shouts that it's not morning yet but he doesn't listen. We often wake up to "s the clock's not greeeen, it's not morning yet " swiftly followed by 'mummmmmmyyyyy I want to sleeeeeeep and s turned the liiiight on' poor L, she sleeps til 8 if I get S out before he wakes her so 5.30 for her is shockingly early

Chulita · 18/07/2012 18:12

spirael I'm exactly the same with ironing, if I really need something ironed I try and hide it in DH's uniform and hope he doesn't notice (at least I would if I ever needed something ironing).

Oh, and I asked the HV yesterday at S's check whether she had any suggestions for his sleep and she said 'put him to bed later'...what? later than 8.30pm? so that means 9pm? 10? with how long to sort the house and relax before I need to get to bed to get through the 3-4 night feeds and the inevitable 5am start? He's in their room at 6.30/7 but won't stop running around most nights...he's a loon.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 18/07/2012 18:20

W has tonsillitis again :(

I don't know what to suggest chul to be honest.

One thing I have realised recently though, is that W is not too young to be disciplined. They were having a real humdinger earlier over a toy and they both got told off, sat in different spots and told to stay there until they apologised and learnt to play nicely together. W did it within a minute, got up said sorry to me and sorry to his brother whilst his stubborn brother sat it out for a good few minutes and I honestly hadn't expected it to work. Lesson learnt for me, I think

memphis83 · 18/07/2012 19:01

Mlic thats good that they listened I havent done that yes with L but I have done the go to your room line if we are upstairs!
chul would he have a horlicks or something like that? I also have no advice, L has been begging to go up since 5, he has just said thank yo when I said we could go up to bed!

DesperateHousewife21 · 18/07/2012 19:43

mlisc sorry to hear W has tonsillitis again :(

I don't iron ever, not ever :)

I bought D some new shoes from the Clarks website, £14 down from 28 and they're soooo gorgeous! here

memphis83 · 18/07/2012 20:29

dh L has those they are so nice, they end up wet every day as he fonds puddles everywhere, I love them!

viksam · 18/07/2012 20:38

Nice shoes dh also i went to lidl and brought that shelf thingy, its ace, dead colourful and D can get to all sorts of toys that were put away before.
Ironing, DH has lots of work shirts that need doing and i do stuff like jeans and tops and my work shirts will need doing soon too (hurahhhhhh cant wait to go back to work!!) (bad bad mommy!!)
memph Not much change yet in F he has seemed a bit happier this afternoon and hes eaten a bit more today but only had a few Oz before he went to bed which clearly means he will be up more than once for a feed in the night and/or awake at stupid o'clock in the morning, great.
D's waking was really bad last night, he woke at 4am and continued to chunder on until after 5. F woke at 5.30 so i tried to feed him and put him back down but he wasnt having any of it so just after 6 i gave up and came down. Im so upset that hes doing this again and have no idea what to do about it. I think me and dh have decided unless he is distressed we need to ignore it as much as we can. Its so difficult though as we can hear everything.
chu S clearly does need more sleep but you are providing the right circumstances so what more can you do??

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 18/07/2012 21:01

Absolutely agree with ignoring it vik

Been to nursery parents' evening tonight and feeling wonderfully reassured about ds2's behaviour. As upsetting as it is to accept, he is just like it with me. Nursery sang his praises and said what a lovely little boy he is. And it seemed very genuine, not at all said just in an appeasing way. Which is a relief. And I think realising that he just does it to me on the same day that I realised 'time out' worked... I feel a lot more in control and like I have a plan to curb the bad behaviour.

Those shoes are cute dh. Unfortunately they're too summery and would be ruined in 5 seconds flat round here. You should see his navy blue shoes after a trip to the park yesterday, I don't think they're salvageable!

DesperateHousewife21 · 18/07/2012 21:02

memphis glad to hear they're nice in rl too, can't wait for them to get here.

vik yay! Glad you like them I love the colours. Argos has something v similar for a couple of pound more if anyone's missed them in lidl.

DesperateHousewife21 · 18/07/2012 21:02

Chulita · 18/07/2012 21:48

I agree wrt discipline, I think cos S doesn't talk I treat him younger than he is, he knows this and completely takes the piss.
Mlisc that's great that W is fine with them. I'd love a parent evening at L's to hear what she's like but they don't seem to do them.

memphis83 · 18/07/2012 22:09

mlic I suppose it is reassuring that he isnt like it with everyone, L is a nightmare with my mum, he tries to throw wobblies with me (but they dont work) but with my mum its all eyes lash fluttering and sweetly spoken 'Nanny Nanny pease, thankyou...peeeeaaaaaasssseeee' as he knows if he uses fantastic manners with mum she cant refuse him!
dh do get some of the protector spray as the white toe does scuff....he has only had them a week...but as they dry quicker than his others (his wellies took 3 days to dry as he went swimming in a puddle) he has worn them every day though!

Chulita · 19/07/2012 06:45

memphis L sounds like such a cutie!

S is still asleep, i'm going to spend all day trying to work out what we did yesterday and attempting to replicate it

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 19/07/2012 07:29

that's fab chul!

I slept like a log last night. And I'm off today too so no rushing around again, yay.

DesperateHousewife21 · 19/07/2012 07:50

D has been having amazing lie ins recently, don't know if it's because he's basically dropped his nap or the warmer days means we're out doing more but he's been sleeping til 7:15 even 7:45 a couple of times!

memphis they manage to flog me the show protector spray when I got his first ever shoes and I've never used it so will start now, I want to keep these ones nice!

Spirael · 19/07/2012 09:56

Maybe he heard us talking about his peers having a lie in and realised it might be fun to do the same, Chul? Wink

Love the shoes, DH! M's feet grew again recently, so we had to fork out for new trainers, slippers and indoor shoes for nursery. Managed to get them all in the sale though at Clarks, so wasn't too bank breaking. (Would have been catastrophic without the sale!!)

Back to laundry; I don't hang underwear up here, either... Mostly because it all gets tumble dried! Along with the towels. Always hang clothes to dry though. However we don't often get a chance to hang clothes outside, no time before work and it inevitably rains at weekends, but they cook dry very quickly on racks in the conservatory.

Got some minor good news here. I entered a photo of Mindy helping make sushi last weekend in Lakeland's 'i can cook' competition, and she's apparently won a runner up prize of a whisk and spoon! Either that or they're giving out whisks and spoons to everyone that entered. Wink But still, she'll love having her own child-sized whisk and spoon!

I love it when unexpected nice things happen. Grin Makes a change from the unexpected catastrophies that seem to happen the rest of the time -!!

The Queen is apparently walking around Leeds today... I might see if I can spot her at lunch time. I don't think I've ever seen her in person before!

OP posts:
DesperateHousewife21 · 19/07/2012 10:16

Aw well done M winning a prize!

The Olympic torch is going through my area today, right in front of my friends house who im meant to be going to see so I'll have to get there a few hours before I don't want to get stuck in it.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 19/07/2012 12:08

I have cleaned two bathrooms (ignoring dh's bathroom I cba) moved the bed in the smallest room seeing as though nobody sleeps in there and put some stuff back in there now that I can treat it as a spare room again. Put all the toys back in the bedrooms. Thrown some clothes and a couple of toys away and dusted/hoovered the whole house and cleaned the couches. Aaahhhhh that feels better Grin Now for lunch.

Oh and I do hang everything on the line, underwear included because (a) I don't care and (b) only one neighbour can see from their upstairs bedroom window, nobody else has view of our line. Speaking of which, the washing machine has just finished...

Chulita · 19/07/2012 12:38

S isn't napping which shoots the idea of replicating yesterday down in flames. :(

Back on in a bit when B's asleep and I can get on the laptop.

Chulita · 19/07/2012 13:10

spirael good luck! We saw her last week when she popped by the local park :)

mlisc I'd love someone to take my 3 off for the morning, I'd get loads done!

So yesterday S slept from 11.30 til 1 when I woke him up then he went to bed (and to sleep) at 7pm. He woke once at 3am just wandering the house til I put him back in bed then woke at 7am. I think possibly he doesn't want to nap since he was up 2 hours later than normal. I have to go to the shops this afternoon, guaranteed he's going to sleep in the pushchair no matter what I do. I'm going to have to do an early tea or he's going to be too far gone to eat it then will be up early cos he's hungry...ARGH! I hate the way their sleeping patterns just take over my life Angry
