Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Great! He's frigging fast asleep now Hmm

hawthers · 19/05/2012 09:52

Hmm that is my plan!

Potty 2 floor 1 but he is refusing to sit on it every 30.mins a la the potty boot camp. Am hoping that he'll want to go later so will be keen when we suggest it....

hawthers · 19/05/2012 09:54

Live potty training updates today? not sure it will have as many followers as musicals live birth updating...

Biscuitsandtea · 19/05/2012 10:15

Potty 2, floor 1 = great Grin

Go DS1!!!!

And my auntie's plan didn't involve actually potty training my cousin while at home. He was just in nappies at home, put in pants for play school - then just 'Shock another accident? Well I never.....'

DreamingOfPeace · 19/05/2012 10:47

Love it biscuits! Do you think they knew?!

I'll follow the live potty training updates. They'd be far more interesting than if i did live settling updates in the night or something :)

I'm dreading both transition to a bed and potty training... 20 months, I can leave both for a while, right?!

Biscuitsandtea · 19/05/2012 10:57

Yes Dream you have plenty of time for both. DS1 went into a bed at just after 2 and that was because we were moving house but moving in with the in-laws between houses so didn't want to have to move the cot as well as potentially a bed if we had to swap him while we were homeless iyswim. And he was / is good at going to bed so it was always an easy thing. I would have left it later if he'd been troublesome about bedtimes. And he was over 3 for potty training, although I appreciate that is at the older end of 'normal'. It was the same age for 4 out of the 8 children in my NCT group though.

Although it would give you something to do in all that spare time you must have around looking after the twins? WinkGrin

DreamingOfPeace · 19/05/2012 12:19

Yeah, I'm.so bored, I need a hobby... Wink

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 19/05/2012 12:39

I have stopped potty training as Dd kept pooing herself and I know it is for attention and I just reached my limit with it! Disappointing as she was so good for ages.

Biscuits I haven't tried the nursing position, I guess it just takes a bit of practice. I haven't had a problem with clothes, sounds like they didn't have it on properly/tight enough. It is a dream honestly I was so wary as I have spent ££s on slings but I am pleased with it. I bought mine as new, second hand so if I didn't like I could sell and not lose much money. :)

NCer is name changer, wasn't sure if Mythical is a new face or in disguise. I just got up I was so tired, I find a sleep in at the weekend sets me up fior the following week as if I don't have the lie in it is tough! I do feel a bit of a slob, but if needs must!

hawthers · 19/05/2012 14:00

Hmm pants have taken a hit with two wees and a poo. Not much potty action since this morning. Nearly running out of trousers.....

Biscuitsandtea · 19/05/2012 14:27

Hawthers have you tried bare bum? We did for the first few days until he was a bit (!) reliable at that. I found pants confused him a wee bit and he was better with nothing. Then we had another 'adjustment' period with the introduction of pants.

Just a thought xx

hawthers · 19/05/2012 14:28

And another wee and poo. This is not going well

hawthers · 19/05/2012 14:30

Will try after his nap. Got to deal with a load of pooey pants now. Feeling like I'm pushing him too far as he just hadn't told us once when he needs to go or is that expecting too much for day one?

DreamingOfPeace · 19/05/2012 14:33

Oh blimey hawthers, poor you with the laundry!

quick rant- What does everyone else do with all the baby clothes?! I'm drowning in black plastic bags filled with clothes- outgrown newborn babygrows, bag still knocking around as they're still wearing the up to 10lb ones, 0-3 month babygrows and clothes ready to go, bags of hand me downs which have come in in bigger sizes, stuff DD is outgrowing... Part of the problem is me wanting it all sorted in the right age/ weight but just argh!!! Was bad enough staying organised with just DD. Boys have one chest of drawers between them and no wardrobe... Hopeless storage in this house...

jaggythistle · 19/05/2012 16:43

Totally drowning dream. new stuff not even washed ready to wear, storage bags of DS1's old stuff, piles he's grown out of already. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. DH doesn't seem to get it either and thinks I'm just making a mess I think.

DS2 has one drawer, DS1 has 2 and a shared quite big wardrobe.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 19/05/2012 17:26

Have totally given up on washing new clothes before she wears them. So far no rashes, so feel vindicated in ignoring the advice. I have a massive Ikea bag of adorable Tiny Baby and Newborn clothes that were worn about twice each. Blush Went a bit mad on the Newborn clothes front. There is also a huge pile of clean clothes waiting to be sorted into mine, hers, DH's and clothes that no longer fit. Hawthers, eek with the laundry - Biscuits' bare bum option sounds good (coupled with a carpet-free room!).

Am at my parents being spoiled. Stepdad is currently playing with M and being vommed on - someone else catching the vom, hurray!

Grin at Dream needing a hobby. Oh, and Angry at the nanny for coming when she was ill. Much Brooking for none of the kids to get ill - or you either.

Purple, am liking that sling.

I'm a geek and every time dd started to grow out of clothes sizes created a bag labelled with that size abc stored in nursery wardrobe. Pre dd2 went through 0-3 and 3-6, binned stained ones and washed them...

All the 0-3 that are now done with are either going to a friend or the salvation army collection on Tuesday. That does make me feel a bit Sad

hawthers - go you for continuing. We gave up after two wees and one poo on carpet...

DreamingOfPeace · 19/05/2012 18:13

I've got the bags pomme, just nowhere to put them and no time to sort out their drawers etc...

Tandem screaming is driving me round the twist.

I have not yet dressed the boys in anything that's not a babygrow

musicalmrs · 19/05/2012 18:23

Hi all! Thanks for the welcomes (a couple of nights ago!). I have been foolishly forgetting my phone - madness! - but I'll be sure to keep it nearby so I can properly join tonight! Having a few problems getting DD to settle in the moses basket at night - ended up sleeping in bed with me last night just to ensure we both got some sleep. Will have to work on that...

Hawthers, I didn't really 'live update' much! I should have got my DH to! I still had quite big gaps between contractions at 8-9cms, which is how I managed it.

Not too shattered yet, although looking forward to a quiet day tomorrow after lots of visits today and yesterday (and more to go later today)..

Will catch up with the thread properly soon! Hope all brookers, babies and potty trainees are doing well.

pommedechocolat · 19/05/2012 18:39

dream - you have my utter admiration. Today I tried to put A down for a nap at 4pm. Two hours later I was still going and it turned into putting her down to bed. She's still muttering to herself up there...

Biscuitsandtea · 19/05/2012 22:12

Yay!

I've just become an auntie for the first time Grin

hawthers · 19/05/2012 22:19

I feel a bit broken by the first day of pt. Score was potty 4 floor 0 pants about 11 including 2 large poos. Tomorrow must ne better right?

DreamingOfPeace · 19/05/2012 22:29

Yes hawthers, tomorrow will be better

I am being broken. Desperate for the duo to stop crying and feeding and settle. Not looking likely. Dh got diarrhoea and feeling ill, so maybe D&V bug, Seb has ? diarrhoea too, he's going all the time which he hasn't been for the last week at all. So far I feel I'm, just tired. Dh and i are snapping at each other, just to make things worse. Gah.I think its going to be a looong night.

At least there's some good news, congratulations biscuits! Boy? Girl? All the gory details please :)

DreamingOfPeace · 19/05/2012 22:33

Oh, and musical, if you've been in the womb for 9 months why on earth would you want to sleep in your basket?! So think all many babies IME. Though jaggys Ds2 likes his crib, what a good baby. Hope feeding is going ok and you are enjoying your snuggles

Biscuitsandtea · 19/05/2012 22:36

Hope it's better for you tomorrow Hawthers Smile I think I've read somewhere that you have to give it at least 3 days for them to get the idea (not to crack it though!)

Gah! Not happy about D&V at Dream towers. Not good at all! Hope that doesn't get to anyone else.

Baby girl, born by EMCS. Don't know a lot more yet but v v pleased about the whole situation Grin
