I know what you mean about the DS 1 thing Scarlet - my ds1 has also been so little trouble but when ds2 is demanding he really misses out and has such a blast if someone else takes him out. I just wish I was operating at full capacity in terms of taking him places. Mind you the CP knocked us off there as we couldn't go anywhere. And we seem to have had / be having an unending run of hospital / doctors appointments.

I'm sure it will be better once you can drive again. Is it worth checking with your insurance co re the time limit? You wouldn't want to inadvertently drive uninsured? The leaflet I had from the hospital mentioned the emergency stop thing. It suggested you try one on your drive to see of it ached.

Enjoy your time out in the garden Smile

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 24/05/2012 11:40

Okay, I know DH is off because he is depressed and ill and can't cope with going to work, but it is bliss to have someone around to talk to all the time, and to make hold the baby when I want a poo, and to bring me breakfast. It's an ill wind, right? He's signed off until next Tuesday.

Oh no, Jaggy, more poo! Hope DS2's wee bum is on the mend. And Sad for the sniffly coldy JaggyThistles today.

Yes, the hot weather seems to mean one grumpy cross baby. She doesn't (or didn't) want to feed, but she just grizzled a lot, so we decided to bath her in case she was just a bit hot and sticky. She loved the bath and lying naked on a towel afterwards, but now DH is dressing her and we have full-scale howls again. It is 23 degrees inside with no heating on. Confused That's in an old stone cottage which is usually on the cool side.

Oh and I think you're right on the Matt Willis thing Scarlet - but which one was he on the TOTP YouTube video? I thought he had dark hair?

Any takers for the third member of Busted?

scarletfingernail · 24/05/2012 12:12

I think he might be wearing the blue t-shirt in the middle Biscuits He looks the most similar facially. You're right he does have dark hair now and I guess the celeb Grin lifestyle must have taken it's toll (see below)

Biscuitsandtea · 24/05/2012 12:54

Man, the years really have not been kind to him have they! Confused

Watching that video again I'm sensing that he struggle to occupy his arms a bit while the other more talented? two play their guitars. He has some odd arm spasms going on around the 1:20 mark.... Hmm

DreamingOfPeace · 24/05/2012 13:27

scarlet, I've been driving since 15 days after my section. It's fine. The insurance company said its fine, as did my consultant. If you can (once documented by gp which I did) emergency stop in your driveway and its ok then drive away! Saved me :)

I had a hospital appt today. I rang up to ask why, they said request of the ward, no specifics that they knew though, so I went. Total waste of time, clinic ran 90 minutes late, had the dts screaming if they weren't feeding, just for a change (I was on my own with them) so i was tandem feeding on a hospital waiting room chair which was a nightmare or walking and jigging both til my arms nearly dropped off. The consultant then said she couldn't remember why she'd wanted to see me. Cue bursting into tears in the carpark, both babies absolutely screaming like they're about to die, I tried to feed both together in the front seat (only just possible and forgot comfort for any of us) . Just argh!!!!!!!!!

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 24/05/2012 14:10

Oh no, Dream, how horrible! I would have been sorely pushed not to lose it in the consultant's office. Sad What a waste of time! Poor you.

Scarlet, for you too! Keeping bf for a few more days at a time sounds like a good plan. I am the total opposite, though, and would find ff a total faff.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 24/05/2012 14:30

Poor little M was totally exhausted earlier. She howled and howled and wouldn't feed or be comforted. Eventually we decided to go for a walk, DH put her in the sling and she conked out before we'd even left the house. DH hadn't fastened the head rest part of the BabyBjorn and she was asleep with her head flopping backwards looking really uncomfy. I managed to refrain from screaming at him and gently suggested that he should support her head because that couldn't be good for her spine. Hmm I think hot weather is hard on babies. She woke up briefly for a feed and is now snoozing on me.

Biscuitsandtea · 24/05/2012 14:31

Oh Dream what a nightmare! Hope you're all home and more comfy now? Dare I even hope for you to all be having a rest? Xx

jaggythistle · 24/05/2012 14:33

dream - grr at your consultant!

Exciting news - My slings arrived from www.victoriaslinglady.co.uk they are v nice and soft.

Seem to have got it almost right first go. DS2 was v grumpy but he is now happily snuggled in asleep yay! I have hands free for MNing Blush

Biscuitsandtea · 24/05/2012 15:04

Jaggy how warm are the slings? I tried DS2 in the moby on monday and was just about melting by the time I'd walked up to the nursery to get DS1.

Haven't even tried it since then as I just know it would be too hot!

jaggythistle · 24/05/2012 15:22

well i confess I've only tried it in the house for half an hour, will report back when I've had an expedition- might go to toddlers tomorrow if we're all any better.

the one i tried was the lightweight summer one, DS2 certainly didn't get too hot in it, not sure how I'd be!

what sort of material is the Moby? these are stretch T-shirt type material.

pommedechocolat · 24/05/2012 15:24

A is another grumpy, dozy, feeds baby. DD1 still bonkers, dh has come back from his trip and his blowing up her paddling pool for her. Am eternally grateful he's here - feeling slightly wiped out by lack of sleep and af. I'm filling a super tampon every hour and a half currently.. Yuck!

dream - post dd my periods were a bit heavier but not as heavy as yours. I do remember the first period being an absolute b*tch though and it appears to be happening again. Being on warfarin doesn't help things like this :(

pommedechocolat · 24/05/2012 15:24

Loving the busted research by the way!

jaggythistle · 24/05/2012 15:28

I'm freaking out a bit about the hot weather actually, I'm at the awkward stage of being too small for maternity stuff to look right, but too big for normal clothes. feel kind of fat and gross and awkward whatever i wear.

must eat less rubbish!

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 24/05/2012 15:31

Grr, none of my summer skirts fit very well. Stupid baby weight! I'm wearing a skirt that used to sit on my hips and was knee-length, and is now tight on my waist and a good few inches above the knee. Hmm

Yay for the new slings, Jaggy!

Yy to slings being hot, Biscuits. Don't know if there's a way around that, though.

OP posts:
pommedechocolat · 24/05/2012 15:32

oo I'd do anything for a magnum. Yum yum.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 24/05/2012 15:36

Oooh, cross post Jaggy on the summer clothes thing!

For the AF thing, maybe for this once, pads would be better than tampons, Pomme? I stuck to leftover mat pads for my first AF after DD1, and it was heavier than usual. So far, no sign, thank God.

hawthers · 24/05/2012 15:43

Miracle of miracles both nous asleep but I can't go to bed as f asleep in the kitchen and I wouldn't hear him if he woke. Was dozing in the shade in the garden but annoying life next door now running riot on their trampoline. Grrrr still really grumpy and tired. There hasn't been a single minute where both boys have been awake that one of them hasn't been crying. pomme I wish DH was home but he'll be stuck at work until late again. I'm done in

scarletfingernail · 24/05/2012 16:25

I've still been wearing maternity clothes which are huge on me. Stupidly I got DH to put all my normal clothes in a suitcase in the loft and only remembered this morning after he'd left to go to work. My 4 maternity t-shirts are all in the wash so I've been left with 3 jumpers and 2 pairs of jeans to choose from today. (I can't get into the loft without him sorting the ladder out)

So I've had to wear a pj vest type thing with some plain short pj bottoms all day. Good job I've been housebound!

Dream Angry about your hospital appointment. I hope you told them how much you'd been inconvenienced. Thanks for letting me know about the driving thing. I might give the insurance company a call just to check before I get behind the wheel.

DS is home. He's had a lovely day and is thoroughly worn out. I'm not looking forward to getting him sorted for bed on my own, this is usually when he has a mega tantrum if he's shattered and DH isn't here to do it.

scarletfingernail · 24/05/2012 16:29

FFS DS has just told me he's done a poo poo in the dining room Shock

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 24/05/2012 16:33

Sorry, Scarlet, but Grin at doing a poo poo in the dining room!

OP posts:
jaggythistle · 24/05/2012 17:13

woo while both boys asleep (DH cuddled DS2 as he has temporarily run out of bits to DIY) i finally managed to cut my nails for the first time in about 3 weeks.

also finished the lasagne we started the other day. tub of bolognese was in the fridge waiting for cheese sauce. I'm just waiting for DS1 to decide he doesn't like lasagne today just to cheer me up. it was so hot in the kitchen even grating cheese was effort.

none of us have much appetite cos we can't really taste anything. DS2 is saving me effort on nose drops by having milk and snot come out of his nose when he feeds at a certain angle. glamorous!

hawthers · 24/05/2012 17:35

DS1 just threw a building block at my head and hit me and ds2. Sums up the day really. He has spent a lot of time in time out today. He has been vile.

Biscuitsandtea · 24/05/2012 18:38

Aw Hawthers - the day is nearly over and tomorrow is a new one. xx

Scarlet hope the poo wasn't too hideous to clean up Sad

Jaggy that's an impressively productive spell - well done. Hope the lasagne was enjoyed by all - sounds delish Smile
