Well, although a broken night for me- I fed DS at half 12, then he had a bottle at half four from DP, without incident- I feel grand.

DP, on the other hand..... let's just say he looks like the world's fish stocks have landed on his head Grin

aethelfleda · 23/04/2012 07:55

Good luck to mrnorthern!

well, he didn't make it back into the cot- we tried, he woke up, I caved and put him in with me- but then he did sleep for another hour. At least he slept well in there to start with. It's all extremely cramped in our room though, we had too much furniture in there to start with, so now I've got to change him on our bed as the cot is where the changing mat was.
Ah well, it's a good incentive to sort out the girls' room so we can have a switch-around in a few weeks.

It's all change for everyone at the moment, isn't it! Has anyone's little one got their teeth through yet after all this dribbling?

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 23/04/2012 08:11

Good luck to MrNorthern today.

Sky slept incredibly well last night - could be because she barely slept in the day yesterday. Fell asleep between 5&6 I kinda dream fed her about 7:30 - she woke at 12:30 & 4:30 & drank 14oz of milk last night so 2 bottles down 3 to go - now if only I could get the 2 over night bottles into her during the day! Hoping the more days I add to her having baby rice she won't wake at night.

housework day today - my house looks like a bomb has hit it Sad

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 23/04/2012 08:14

ps seeing the Ante-natel Dec 2012 thread bring back memories on when we all first found out we were preggers Smile

OiMissus · 23/04/2012 08:16

Morning,
I got out of the house at 6:15 as planned. fed him at SILs, and left there for work at 7:15. Stage one of the military operation: complete. :)
Have now put on a smidge of make up, had rice krispis, and got a coffee.
BOi slept from 11 til 2:45, but was pretty restless from then on. So I caved in and brought him in with us. So at least DH could sleep, I half slept. He's chesty and rattly - MIL says its related to teething. ?
Good luck with the cot Aethel, we need to do the same. He flails his arms in his sl;eep and hits the bars of the crib, then wakes up grumbly. He likes to sleep with his arms outstretched, the crib isn't bog enough. (Listen to me, when he's a toddler I'll be getting him a king size, super-lux, ZX, turbo, big bed! Pathetic!)
Congratulations to Octoboy! Let's hope he enjoyed his long sleep and will repeat it often!

OiMissus · 23/04/2012 08:20

A friend of a friend had only ever heard the phrase "a bomb's hit it", and thought people were actually saying "it's like a bomzy tit". He never understand the phrase, but used it anyway. Me and DH say it all the time now, Bomzy Tit! Grin

NorthernChinchilla · 23/04/2012 08:23

I have passed on your good wishes aethel and DSM, and he says thanks! At the moment he's trying to encourage DS to settle, and I'm being good and just giving tips, not saying 'aaaargh, do it this way!' Looks like he's gone down too.

That sounds like an excellent start with the cot aethel, and a good night's sleep for you DSM.

It is all change at the moment, can't believe I'm going to have to pull my work head on and go and prod significant buttock again... but it'll be lovely to be met off the train by both my boys!

OiMissus · 23/04/2012 08:24

(Is this what 20 weeks away from a keyboard does? bog, understand,....! )

NorthernChinchilla · 23/04/2012 08:26

And missed your post LMF, yay for the tentacled one! Hope he's not lulling you into a false sense of security for some world domination plan later on.

Know what you mean about sleeping with his arms flung out, although Mini-Chinny's favourite trick was to get his whopping chunky thighs legs caught between the bars of the cot and, understandably, scream the place down. He did it a couple of times, but I thought they were designed so this was impossible?

Hope the rest of the day goes well Oi.

mopsytop · 23/04/2012 08:59

Hi all! Sorry missed a c

mopsytop · 23/04/2012 09:03

Oops didn't mean to post! Missed a cpl of days-tried to post on the boat over but lost the wifi just after writing a massive post grrr

It's lovely being home! But minimopsy got a really bad chesty cough last night, she was v upset. It sounds really scary but j think sounds worse than it is cos she seems fine in herself now, took her bottle fine, no temp. But she's snuggly and wheezy and the cough sounds dreadful so I'll be keeping a close eye!

Hope all moving to bottle issues are resolving themselves and first days back at work are ok. It's v v v v hard! Big sympathies.

And just general hello to all, I miss you onthe thread when I'm away a few days!!

Figgygal · 23/04/2012 10:41

Good luck today working ladies!!

I have a friend coming round this
Morning and then baby group this afternoon. It's pissing down here again Sad

MissRee · 23/04/2012 11:30

Good luck to MrChinny from me too!

And so the big cleanup starts... the bath is now installed, as are the vents, fan, sink and light!just finishing off with the shower screen, flooring and giant cupboard to house the washing machine and boiler. I can't believe the difference - it looks amazing Grin I can't wait to have a bath!!!

Sorelip · 23/04/2012 11:52

Morning all! All is cool here. DS is being very cute, although he can probably read my mind and will be a little sod for the rest of the day, just for the hell of it. I need a high chair!

aethelfleda · 23/04/2012 12:40

First trial bottle of lunchtime formula - many complaints that This Was Not Boobie- he settled a little, took maximum 5 mls then fell asleep.
I think that classes as a non-bottle!!: but that's OK, it's
given him a taste of the milk, he'll get used to it and I'll try again tomorrow. It would be lovely if he did take it and give me just one real nap during the day, but hey. Those teeth are still giving him gip, but we'll see.

jigglebum · 23/04/2012 13:06

Hi all - tried to post last night to wish anyone back to work this week good luck but by the time I had read everything and posted i'd been logged out - hope it is going well for you all

jigglebum · 23/04/2012 13:18

I need another haddock (or three) for my dh too. Last weekend he was away mountain biking, this weekend was sailing and it all ended up a bit of a disaster really. BIL was sailing too so SIL and all the DCs and I stayed at the in laws. It was really windy and dh broke part of his boat (250 quid down the drain) , didnt get back on sat till 7pm and then got annoyed at me as I was fed up he had just lost us 250 quid (although I know it was an accident). Then my nephew kept us all awake screaming half the night and freya woke at 545am. dh was more useless than usual as he was fed up and tired. I agree with whoever said their dh was harder work than the baby. I find my dh is selective with his parenting, choosing to just do the fun parts like playing with ds but never the sorting out of things - feeding, nappies etc and leaving all the night time get ups and house work to me even at weekends. If it wasnt for the dcs I think I would have left by now to be honest

Sorelip · 23/04/2012 13:23

Oh jingle here's an extra large soggy haddock. What is it with useless DHs at the moment?!

Ellis had his first try of food, banana and peach breakfast rice thingy, and he liked it. Chucked it straight back up, but he did like it :)

HoneyLovesCake · 23/04/2012 13:50

Hi Ladies,

It's been a while so I thought I'd post. I've been lurking but too tired to write anything comprehensible due to sleep regression here too; did we ever get to the bottom of whether or not it's just the boys regressing?

I'm finding this stage quite hard as it's coincided with lots of rain here so I'm feeling pretty restless & housebound :( Really need to start exercising...next week maybe Hmm

I'm amazed that some of you are back to work already; time really has flown! I hope you're enjoying it. I can't imagine trying to use my brain to that extent yet; I get tongue-tied trying to put together the simplest sentences...baby brain does pass eventually right?

Sorry for all the useless OH's...mine irritates me on a daily basis. We're on pretty shaky ground tbh although as he is the most incredibly self involved creature I don't think he's even aware of it...not sure if this is a good or bad thing meh

Right, gotta go, Rocco's finally woken from a very long nap...maybe he's nocturnal Hmm

jigglebum · 23/04/2012 14:06

Can't believe how useless the OHs are being - sorry to hear that yours is irritating too HLC I am going to try hard to raise DS as a considerate and helpful male and ensure he knows housework is for both genders. He already helps out more than DH on general stuff (though DH is very good at DIY and car stuff - ok that sounds so sexist - I will have to ensure Freya learns DIY and car maintenance too as I am rubbish at both)

Re sleep regression - Freya seems to have resorted back to 12 hours a night pretty consistently. Given that it took DS 10 months to get to sleeping through and 18 months to sleep 12 hours a night I think girls are better sleepers! Most of my friends have found the same but of course that is only a small sample!

As Freya is still a good sleeper and not yet 15lbs I am holding off weaning at the moment - she is 20 weeks on Sunday - I can't be arsed with the hassle and mess till I have to tbh.

Rubbish day weather wise here too. DS is being great but will need a run around soon - might have to resort to soft play - not my favourite place!

AnAirOfHope · 23/04/2012 14:07
