Marking place while eating chocolate biscuits!

MissRee · 11/03/2012 19:44

Place marking!

Had a very sleepy/grumpy Little Norse goddess this weekend following her jabs on Friday... thankfully she hasn't been restless at night tho Grin

Xiaoxiong · 11/03/2012 19:53

Positive thinking - me likey. I shall post my highs at this very moment:

stuffed shoulder of lamb in the oven, and a glass of Haut-Medoc in my hand
DS kicking about without a nappy on a towel laughing at DH playing him Scarborough Fair on the mandolin
DH has finally got an appointment to see a counsellor about cutting contact with his father
only two weeks of term left (thank god)
my parents and godfather were all in town for the weekend and doted on DS (and took us to dinner here and it was amaaaaazing
went to a coffee afternoon to look at adorable and ethical clothes cut for cloth bums by frugi
my incision has closed and is healing up nicely
the wind is in the west, and spring is coming!!

Figgygal · 11/03/2012 20:46

Marking place,

Am still full of cold, DS has runny nose and is asleep already which means he'll probably be up 4ish in the morning....wonderful Grin

NorthernChinchilla · 11/03/2012 20:47

Trapdoor and Dangermouse rule- I even have a D-M hoodie!

Back from Devon, place marked and hope to post soon...

NorthernChinchilla · 11/03/2012 21:09

Right!

Love the new name; in the truffle vein I am going to bake a cake for DP. Although a half-decent cook, I always stay away from sweets as DP has a sweet tooth and would be the size of a small state if I didn't enforce healthy eating (I'm not a total 'zilla, he did actually ask me to make him healthier!). But got a good recipe so will give it a try this week.

Journey to Devon was crazy: nighttime, major detours through winding roads in the dark that we'd never done before, wibble.

Weekend in itself was good; however, my Aunt has started with Slimming World, and won their 'Biggest Loser' award Confused, so not only did we have to hear all about it, we had to eat the food too. Given that my uncle is a truly wonderful cook, this had the potential to be awful, but he'd modified some of the recipes, and she just didn't join in on some bits!

Was lovely to see my Gran, but it always churns me up a bit when I go as I wonder if it'll be the last time I see her Sad.

But soooo good to take the wee man over; however, he wasn't at his total best. Sounds like you had similar MissRee, as he's been far grumpier than usual, but I think a lot of it is down to teeth, so having the jabs on top as it were was not great.

Tell me- how can something so small produce so much drool?! I mean, really, how? It was just falling out in long strings, non-stop; apart from when it just soaked his clothes and the Bjorn...poor little sod.

We managed to stick to a simulacrum of the routine, which helped, but it took an hour and a half of screaming to settle him on Saturday which is unheard of.

Do hope your DS isn't too bad hawthers, and sorry you've got a household of sniffles and snot figgy.

So glad you're back tyel, but sounds like you're still having a bit of a time of it! Can't believe the wound opened after that length of time... I've just got a bog-standard glass of (Fairtrade) Chilean Sauvignon Blanc, but I raise it to you- cheers!

I have all the Bramley Hedge books MsB, they're such a lovely part of my childhood.

MissRee · 11/03/2012 21:13

Freya had the first of her "Baby's first year" photoshoots yesterday... I think we managed to get some good ones before she decided to scream the place down Grin

bennybenbear · 11/03/2012 21:56

Marking place. Still with VERY sore wrists. banned from using iPhone so can't post v much so sorry will have to stick to me me me posts for now! Thanks to those with advice for the tendonitis, will get to docs this week and push for a referral and keep wearing my splints in the mean time.

I really want some truffles Envy

seven77 · 11/03/2012 22:04

Checking in with a tub of Ben and Jerrys.

DS was a little bugger again today, especially when my mum popped in. She knows we're home educating but informed me he's being naughty because I don't send him to pre-school Hmm. Eva has been grumpy too, she's normally easy to put to bed but kept crying when I put her down tonight.

Off to check out retro DVD's on amazon.

hawthers · 11/03/2012 22:06

figgy my ds went to sleep at 5 si god only knows what time he'll be up tomorrow...

Don't know what is up - he has a temperature, was sick a couple of times, watering eyes and has a bit of a cough. Dh is panicing as we don't seen to be able to have an illness in this house without a trip to the icu. Please dear bob let it just be a bug like I have been telling him it is.

BJR · 11/03/2012 22:20

Back from lovely holiday and marking my place! Will have to catch up on the old thread to see what i've missed.

Another year older today and had my first card that said Happy Birthday Mummy :o

YBR · 11/03/2012 22:35

tyel my DH plays mandolin also - do you play anything? I'm violin and occasionally guitar myself.

We went for a walk with BabyYBR in the carrier this afternoon. I only carried her a short distance but it really doesn't suit me. I might try again when she's old enough to go on my back but otherwise my sling is much better.... which is good because we can leave the carrier adjusted to fit DH and not keep messing about!

Was is something I said?

aethelfleda · 12/03/2012 03:52

it's a bit quiet on the Nights which I'm taking as a good sign for people. I've only just got here as instead of going from 8-1!DAvsuddendly kicked off at 10 justvas I got to bed, and demanded an extra feed.. Then he slept til quarter to four. I'm just feeding him and am torn between changing his bum so that he'll take the ither boob and sleep longer, or leaving him...

Ps mandolins are cool! I've got a variety of musicky thingies, my folkiest ones are an autoharp and an ocarina... Am going to be a pushy mummy on the music front cos I love it myself, planning to try to get DD1 some piano lessons later this year....

OP posts:
hawthers · 12/03/2012 06:03

Not too sure how ds1 is doing. Only daddy will do so DH was sleeping on the floor the last time I checked. Today is going to be tough and I'm knackered already. Thanks for asking aethelfleda.

Night shift def quieter - no sign of mopsy either. Hope that just means that everyone is getting some lovely sleep.

Hey Ladies,

So I will try to be a better poster from now on. Sorry again for all the mememe posts.

Tv favourites are Button Moon, Any Disney films my Darcie's favourite is Treasure Planet Grin

Also Dora, Fifi & Peppa Pig

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 12/03/2012 07:10

Agree Dangermouse Rules Grin

OiMissus · 12/03/2012 08:20

Morning all, marking place, celebrating *darcie's improved behaviour, and also wondering where all the drool comes from.
There are no signs of teeth yet, but buckets of drool and occasional red cheeks.
LO woke loads last night. 00:10, 01:30, 02:20, 03:30 -then he wouldn't settle for ages, then 05:40, 07:00 - and still awake. Sad I may have to get up. Sad
Positives:
He's absolutely amazing so who cares if he keeps me awake?
Baby massage later today
I may put an offer in on the house we saw yesterday (2nd viewing)
Back to mat leave with no work this week!

CherryBlossom27 · 12/03/2012 08:30

Morning everyone,

Well I'm not sure what has happened to DS...he's still snoozing away right now! DH did the 10pm feed last night, and DS slept through til 5.20am so I gave him a feed and he went straight back to sleep! Very happy as I've been wishing for a decent sleep :-) Hope this continues!

hawthers · 12/03/2012 09:08

Oh po that sounds so tough. Any idea why Ali was up so much? Teething is probably a good bet. I found after nights like that getting swine fresh air helped all around.

DS1 seems brighter this morning but on the look out for more vom. Watching cars 2 and a gentle trip to the playground on the cards today.
