Bleurgh

LO just inhaled 7 oz and now chowing down the emergency 5oz we had in fridge .......why does he have to fall asleep on his last bottle Sad

Need a mega catch up !!

CherryBlossom27 · 13/03/2012 05:10

Morning all!

Well DS has been sleeping noisily from about 3am onwards and gave two little cries, but je actually woke up at 4.40am and I've just finished feeding him. DH did the 10pm feed again whilst I went to bed at 9pm so feeling good for 5am :-) I'm going to annoy DS and change his nappy I'm a minute and then hopefully get him settled again in his cot!

NorthernChinchilla - I namechanged as only posted a couple of times and mainly lurked, but gling to make more of an effort now to post!

LittleMissFlustered · 13/03/2012 06:13

Just when you thought they has fully mastered the ejecting of bodily fluids they learn a new one... The inhaler has loosened his chest so much that he's bringing up mucous. Lovely

OiMissus · 13/03/2012 06:46

Hurrah! Only one wake up last night! Last feed at 10:40pm, hevwoke at 3:30am, then slept til 6:15am. He's now kicking about and farting like a... like something that kicks about a lot and trumps. Grin
Yep to hair coming out lots. And yes, mopsy the gums have stopped bleeding. And no, Sad my nipples aren't that wonderful, sexy, brown colour anymore either.
And we have the hand and foot finders too, they didn't seem to work so are now stapes around the playmat arches and he is really attracted to the faces.
He started trying to roll over 2 days ago. He's only getting part way so far.
Yesterday I had him stood up by the fish tank with hands on the coffee table, so I'm going to encourage this more too so that he learns to use objects for balance. His legs are so strong. Smile

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 13/03/2012 06:53

MrAethel Congratulations on the new job Grin

LMF Sorry Octoboy has been poorly again. Hopefully his inhalers will help clear his chest asap.

Oi Conspiracy Wink I can't stand an untidy/unclean house. Most of my housework is done before the school runs in the mornings so I have the rest of the day to do as I chose Smile

Sky slept all night again - however, I had a bad dream Sad so was awake alot - will be shattered later.

Aims for the day:
Get my girls & me dressed, fed & watered for school run.
School Run
Meeting a friend for coffee
Nipping to bank
Dropping off Wedding Invite to my cousin.
back for lunch.
Sort out washing
Sort our Room out.
Scrub the kitchen bin, now been bleached.
School Run
Playzone
Swimming
Home.

aethelfleda · 13/03/2012 07:09

Ooooh, DS just woke up and weed all over both dady and the wardrobe (a good foot away from the changing mat). Good party trick.

OiMissus · 13/03/2012 07:23

lmf sorry, meant to post that I hope your LO makes a speedy recovery. Bring on the summer!
Plan for today:
Get LO weighed
Make 3 sensory play baskets (silk scarves, ribbons, scrunchy shower things, loofah?, etc)
Go to SIL's later as other SIL is visiting from Hereford with her baby (about 8 wk old).
Give 2 baskets to 2 SILs (other baby due in 8 days)

OiMissus · 13/03/2012 07:25

...and get offer accepted on the house and then make mortgage appt and put them wheels in motion!
And research nurseries in Altrincham.

mopsytop · 13/03/2012 08:01

Hope octoboy improves soon lmf. You're really having a hard time, you poor thing as is he. Hopefully be all be more positive now.

Plan for today:
go get smear test :( not looking fwd to it, am sure will hurt.
Get out old ww books and start counting points properly. Sisters wedding in six weeks and want to lose a stone. It is very possible if I count points properly and walk walk walk!
Hoover and clean bathroom.
Hang out and play with minimopsy
Try and get a nap if at all possible
Go for a walk

AnAirOfHope · 13/03/2012 08:44

Plan for today:

Get dressed
get air dressed
have coffee
feed hope
go to softplay
sort/work out finance so DH can only work 3 days aweek for 6 months (he is down to 6 stone now and is not great, he is not wearing his splint at night and is not sleeping well, so needs a break)

LMF hope Edward is better soon

NorthernChinchilla · 13/03/2012 09:30

I'm searching for a word.
I think the word is... glaaaahgh.

Yay DS- he happily went through the day in his little routine (which now it's been mentioned is the 'Easy' one, which he just fell into, joy!) and then we put him down about half seven and he slept til 11, when I got him and we went to bed.

However...
We'd spent the evening tending to an ill chinchilla. This one had been horribly neglected (I've been sort of 'adopting' unwanted chins for about 15 years) and last night we were clipping all the fur which had gone into dreads under his chin. This morning I find he's holding one of his legs up like he can't walk on it... He's already got the teeth problem that is common to chins, and ends in death, so this isn't looking good.

After a great day, 'D'S woke at 1, 2.30, 3.30, 5.30 and 6.30, whereupon I discovered he'd done a mahooosive poo and there were no nappies upstairs. I changed him and gave him to his father for an hour... He was like this when we came back from visiting rellies last time.

I have to go to the doctors today with a lump. TMI alert. It's in my natal cleft top of bottom crack and is related to a fistula. I've had this for years, but when they gave me a GA to sort it out, they couldn't find it. So I've been left with the problem. I have a horrible feeling a-bs await, which will be great for DS.

DS was grizzly for several days MissRee, and I'd second giving Freya the Calpol to settle her.

Hurrah for MrAethel!

The weird thing I've found with hair mopsy is that it's not grown back... Around the scar, and then all the bikini line stuff I did with cream as a post baby tidy up, it's just not come back- it's really weird!! I was due a smear too, but they put it back as you're not meant to have it until 12 weeks after birth?

Sorry Octoboy is still unwell, and that he's mastered a new trick. I have my fingers crossed for you that he doesn't make the mucus projectile Confused! But very glad you're back and posting!

And OMG at all you musical people- I am so jealous! And you're not the 'can play Wonderwall on the guitar badly when drunk' types, but proper musical types! I am soooo bad, I used to be able to change key when singing without realising, and my friends would compete NOT to stand next to me when we went to Church with school. Go, push your children into musical things, it's wonderful Smile

DS now woken and feeding (and is really fussy on right boob only, why?) and loins are being girded for day ahead- apologies if anyone has been put off their brekkie by the whinge above!

BJR · 13/03/2012 09:59

Plan for the day - off to visit a friend from work this morning and major house cleaning this afternoon.

I'm glad someone else has noticed hair not growing back, I thought I was just some weird freaky person!

DS currently having growth spurt which seems to be going on forever so we've been up mutiple times in the night recently, i'm hoping he's almost done so I can go back to sleeping! He's sitting in his bouncy chair squealing with joy at some really appauling kids TV i've put him in front of, hope he has better taste when hes older.

plutocrap · 13/03/2012 10:26

Sorry to have fallen off the radar. It's been a bit busy, with trying to sort out more car repair quotes (trying and failing, as it's such a hassle to get out of the house! Shock, also needing to do the MOT, which may need to be re-done after the door is repaired (?), and worrying a bit about DD for not having grown much. She was re-measured a month after her 8-week check, and measuring by one leg, she was actually half a centimetre shorter than at her 8-week check! That was how we discovered one of her legs is a bit less mobile in the hip than the other. It's only very slight still, but of course we don't want it to get worse, and we also want her to grow! We have started some gentle manipulation, and are due to go back to the GP in another month, to have her re-measured.

In other news, I've ordered a Samsung Galaxy S II (get me!), which arrived yesterday! I'm fed up of DH's maundering about iphones, since he hasn't bothered to sort out a new phone for years. I got him his last handset through ebay, after his old one broke, and he's been paying a contract tariff (without upgrades) instead of sim-only tariff ever since, which is a ridiculous waste. He's also had a camera on his phone for years, but does he ever bother taking a photo? I have hardly any photos of myself with the DC Sad

Sorry, rant over. Now I can look forward to HD videos and video skype on the phone! - wheeee! The only downside of the package was that it was with 3...

Will try to catch up properly: DD is getting a bit cross now in her carrycot - not a good daytime sleeper!

EasilyBored · 13/03/2012 10:29

Gah, apologies for the total lack of response to all PMs about FB group, squeaky man is cluster feeding and husband is away. Will sort it out this afternoon though, promise!

LittleMissFlustered · 13/03/2012 11:00

Morning!

Hope Monday is being fabulous:)

Today I shall be making a bacon sandwich, having a bath and finding the sling in order to leave the house as I had to leave my pram at the hospital when we were transferred to the other hospital >_

mopsytop · 13/03/2012 11:28

northern, it is 12 weeks yes. Minimopsy was 12 weeks yesterday! Time is flying. She starts nursery in two and a half weeks eeeeeek!

Re: hair growth, I am VERY jealous of you ladies! I was like the hairy gorilla lady of nightmares until I got waxed a cpl of weeks ago!

KateM77 · 13/03/2012 11:29

Congrats to MrAethel

Roll on summer LMF Sorry you and Octoboy have been having such a hard time

Oi Fingers crossed the offer is accepted

Bee I can?t complain too much. DD goes to bed at 7pm and is now waking at 6 or 6.30am rather than 7 or 7.30. She has one nap at lunchtime for about an hour or 90mins. It?s an idea to drop that, but she really seems to need it or we just have lots of tantrums.

Northern Hope all goes well at the doctors

Welcome back plu. Sorry to hear about the lack of growth. I?m surprised they even measured her at all. My health visitor won?t measure length until the 8 month check because she said it was so unreliable due to wriggly babies.

Thanks easily I look forward to seeing you all on FB too!

Bad news: I?ve been up since 5.30am today
Good news: That?s when DS woke for a feed having gone to bed at 8pm Grin
He then went back to sleep until I woke him at 8.30 so that we could drop DD off at nursery. Shame that DD woke the instant I climbed back into bed after the 5.30 feed, but I can?t complain about 7.5 hours sleep in one chunk!
At 5.30 DS drained left boob nicely, but then had hardly any from the right, which meant that by the time he had the next feed at 9am the milk was flooding out. At one point I was just squirting it into his open mouth like we were footballers celebrating a goal Blush

Oi and the rest of the NW contingent. Let me know if you?ll be having a Trafford Centre meet up next Fri 23rd. I?ll be in the area and would love to join you if so.

aethelfleda · 13/03/2012 12:35

went to do some PTA photocopying and ended up taking nearly 3 hours as the other mum i was doing it with has a 6 month old and they both needed feeding/settling while we did it so it took ages and I felt awful but we had to get it done so the stuff could go out. It just did not occur to me that DS is in the habit of a big feed after the school run as last time Indid this job i was bumpy rather than babified! Baaaad mummy.

plu try not to worry about the length thing, there's 5 cm error between operators/measurements so I'm sure it's just that: it's like when the MW measured our bumps (3cm error).

AWomanCalledHorse · 13/03/2012 12:55

LMF, hoping things improve for you & Octoboy soon.

DH has finally earned his first , DS is (touch wood) sleeping through atm (goes down at 7pm until midnight, then from 2am until 7am), DH doesn't think this is enough?!?! That we're having it rough (we probably have one or two 'bad' days a week) & is complaning about how tired he is all the time.... Which is making me feel like shit because even though I know DS is getting enough sleep, having DH whining all the time is getting to me.
It's also making me Hmm about ttc2, as I don't think DH could cope with a v.colicky/unsettled baby.

Pluto, hurrah for phone! How are you finding it? Have you gotten snap happy with DC yet?

Is/has anyone used a Bumbo? DS sits in his fine, but if he wants to get out, he streches his legs out (effectively 'stands up' with suport from bumbo) and tried launching himself out of it...should I just stop using it? Or is that normal?
If I should stop using it...does anyone want a purple bumbo & tray? Grin

Plan for today; Buy Mothers Day cards for mine & DH's mum.
Buy some more dummies (we had 9, we're down to 3?! Think Sock monster who lives in the washing machine is branching out).

NorthernChinchilla · 13/03/2012 14:38

Aaargh, computer ate my post!

BJR- so glad someone else has it, thought I was the only too!

Plu, sorry the car's not sorted yet, they're such hassle. Did the nurse/HV give any indication if they thought the hip thing would be a problem?

I am now on yummy amoxicilin Kate, so just hoping it doesn't upset DS too much.

And there are many on this thread who could correct your OH's misconception re sleeping AWCH. In fact most would give their right arm for it! And a couple of grumpy days for a DC is normal to good...sorry it's giving you food for thought re. no. 2 though Sad.

Have friend coming round and big pile of cakes to greet her nothing to do with the fact I'll eat the remainder, oh no Grin

LittleMissFlustered · 13/03/2012 16:42

Persevere with the bumbo AWCH as it'll come into it's own when the point if chunky bum/legs arrives and they can no longer escape:o

Xiaoxiong · 13/03/2012 18:03

DS is cranky as hell today - after a meltdown at baby music class this morning, and hours of feeding, fussing, jiggling, walking up and down in the sling etc I finally got him off to sleep this afternoon by letting him scream it out Shock I was nearly in tears so I put him down in his crib, went into the kitchen and told myself I would go back in 5 minutes to pick him up and he fell asleep after 4 minutes - if I hadn't been watching my iPhone I wouldn't have believed it, it felt like an hour!!!

Anyway he has woken up once with a heartrending screaming wail - as if his heart was breaking - but it must have been a bad dream as he appeared to be asleep and went quiet again when I rocked the crib.

Xiaoxiong · 13/03/2012 18:08

By the way - I think I missed out on these things when I got sick and dropped out for a while - is there a facebook group now? And a gallery of our LOs? What happened with that?

MissRee · 13/03/2012 19:02

Tyel freya does a sleepy wail on occasion that is so totally different to her normal cry, it breaks my heart but she GPRS straight back off to sleep! Would love to know what she's dreaming about.

MissRee · 13/03/2012 19:02

GPRS? I meant goes!!
