Evening all! I thought the same sassy that dp had broken his knee!! Grin. Hope you managed to get it sorted!!
Brain is a but frazzled so will try remember off top of my head..
sch yay for the carrots (Obv not the choking tho!). Remember gagging is normal, just their way of learning that they need to chew first before swallowing. cheshire loved the photos of P and her yogurt! How is she doing with the feeding? bub glad to hear its going well with L! Food still going down a treat here too. She amazed me at dinner time by eating everything from a loaded spoon! I would put her veg onto it, then hand the spoon to her, she poped it in her mouth, took it off then handed back to me! I was Shock. So happy with how it's all going. It's funny though, rough things like toast she isn't keen to hold and so sits open mouth waiting on me putting small bits in for her! She's like a little baby bird Grin
mrsh poor L Sad hope she is feeling better soon
jnice mama hope your both doing ok. I know it's been rough recently.

I've had a bit of a crazy wkend. Best friend who was due to marry in April decided to calm off the wedding today Sad. Things had happened and she just couldn't face going through with it. I'm truly gutted for her. Can't think of the right words to say to her. Sad

Right, battery is about to go on phone. Fingers crossed for good nights all round x

LittlePebble · 12/03/2012 07:43

Morning all.
Cheshire how's the boob?
MrsH is L any better poor little mite?
mama are you feeling any better?
Jnice I hope you have a good night another couple of 4hr stretches would be good!
I'm going to work today Sad really don't feel like it but I'm sure I'll be ok once I get there.
Tomorrow we're doing a sponsored 5km buggy wall to raise money for a lady from my pregnancy yoga class. Her little boy (7 months) has cancer Sad it's just awful he's having to have chemotherapy.
Really makes you realise how lucky we are....

LittlePebble · 12/03/2012 07:43

Walk not wall! Blush

Scheherezade · 12/03/2012 08:22

Oh that's so sad lp :( good luck with the walk x

How do people keep their babies entertained during the day at home? C seems to get bored v fast and starts screaming till I move him. It's a constant playmat-summer seat-bouncer-pram in garden circle! Or is that normal? Ideas of things to do would be good, I know I should start reading to him in the day more.

strawberrypenguin · 12/03/2012 08:33

hello ladies I'm back! Not had chance to catch up yet, just checking in.

LP hope work isn't too bad, good luck with the walk, what a lovely thing to do

scheh we do playmat, bouncy chair, sofa sometimes if I'm sat with him so he can't fall off, out for a walk if really cranky, reading (we've got a few books that we do a lot and he's started to recognise them) and nursery rhymes with actions seem to be a good distraction and sometimes half an hour in front of the tv.

Hope everyone is doing ok, will try and catch up :)

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 12/03/2012 09:48

scheh generally I only talk to M when I'm feeding/changing or if she's siting facing me on my knee. If she's not doing those things she's in summer seat, bouncy chair holding toys or couch holding toys or in playmat but tbh she still sleeps for about 40 mins every 2-3 hours. But really she loves sitting watching C run wild play.

Mhairi has started biting quite hard while feeding Confused

CheshireDing · 12/03/2012 10:37

Scheh we are constantly doing a round of things with P, I do try and leave her until she properly complains (rather than just yelling - which is usually at the toys) before doing the next activity. Hence I have asked my Gran to babysit tomorrow so I can just get some business stuff done at home because it's impossible! Grin

Boob is feeling better today thanks Pebble, still a bit sore but nothing like yesterday. Although my nips still look more battered than they ever did, I need to buy more Lanisolin (can't be bothered checking spelling).

Hope work is okay Pebble. Poor baby, good luck with the buggy walk.

How are the poorly babies and Mums?

Scheherezade · 12/03/2012 11:43

C is so demanding today, I can't get any of the 1001 jobs I have done. I lost my temper and shouted at him Blush :( and he got really upset :( :( so I picked him up, gave him a cuddle and he's asleep on me now.

I just feel like such a crap mum. I don't know how best to play with him, he's the first baby /child I've ever been around, only child, no close family. He's 6mo in 2 weeks and still not rolling :( he pushes up with his legs but just can't go over.

FuzzzyDuck · 12/03/2012 11:57

Just a quick note to ed and mrsh, my friend who runs the Creation Station in Gladgow is havin a free class at 'kidsworld' (big indoor soft play area, just off motorway near the fort) on Thursday, all ages!! I was at her baby discovery class this morning with S. lots of painting and making mothers day things. Think it's 10.30am but I'll share her post on my fb page. Worth poping along if you are looking for something to do Smile

MrsHende · 12/03/2012 12:04

Thanks Fuzzzy.

I've got Lizzie's tummy bug. Feel like death warmed up. Thank goodness my mum and dad are going to come thru and help.

Yuck Sad

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 12/03/2012 12:06

scheh don't worry we all lose our tempers at some point, and C missed rolling completely went straight to sitting/standing.
fuzzy what day?

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 12/03/2012 12:09

Ash thurs thanks

FuzzzyDuck · 12/03/2012 12:27

Aww mrsh that's rubbish Sad. Hope you manage to get some rest. Great ed hopefully see you there! Grin

FuzzzyDuck · 12/03/2012 14:25

Quick question.. When does 'sick' become more than just milk? S usually brings up a little after her milk but she was fed at 12 and still bringing some up! Seems ok, maybe a little warm. Just confused with the sicky bit. Not known her to bring so much up Sad

Scheherezade · 12/03/2012 14:56

Fuzzzy, could she be full from solids and not have room in belly?

FuzzzyDuck · 12/03/2012 15:26

Hmm, sch I don't think she is. She had bottle at 7.45 then has her porridge at 8.30am then that was her till bottle at 12. It's been since then. She had little bit of veg at 2 then I left her with my mum as I had to go out. My mums just text to say she's had a terrible nappy so thinking she maybe has wee bug Sad

Hope did you ok x

sassy34264 · 12/03/2012 15:47

fuzzy what you just put is completely normal to me. i have lots of memories of them being sick hours after feeding, obviously there will be exceptions and it could be something else. ( i always seem to put that! its cos in the back of my mind, im thinking what if i say its normal and then it turns into something serious) Hmm

i think being on here can be a double edged sword scheh it helps enormously at times but it also highlights any differences between the babies and has you thinking- shit! my babies older/same age and they're no where near doing that. i really think you should cut yourself some slack sweet. you are doing a fab job. he is clean, fed, smiling on pictures on fb, wearing nice clean clothes (count mine up and see how many sleepsuits eva is in Blush ) and i seem to recall he is sat up unaided on one. the little buggers do everything in their own time.

i dont really have a circuit thing going on. she sits in her bouncy chair for ages, watching twins playing and sometimes the tv. if she cries and i want her to go a bit longer i will put the bar with the dangly thing over it, or pass her one of the lamzee things. if she still doesnt stop i know its hunger or attention so i just pick her up and hold her or feed her. i once timed how long she went for just sat in the bouncy chair and it was an hr and 10mins before she whinged. i honestly forget she is there.
i see people with dangly toys hanging off car seats, prams etc and i just think they are playing their hand to soon. mine have nothing. i dont give them anything when we travel in the car either and they just sit there looking out the window. went shopping to a different supermarket the other day and its at least a 20min drive there and back and they didnt peep once.
if they do start whinging, i usually give them a drink,. and then leave it, when if they start whinging again, a banana etc. then wait and if its a particulary long time in car or pram a book. if you start off giving them a toy/ book and they play with it for 10mins and then get bored- where do you go from then? they need to learn to be contented without constant stimulation i think- for MY sake!!!!

speaking of comparisons though, i had eva weighed today and she iz 16lbs 7oz. she was 16lbs 4oz during the feb hols about 2/3 weeks ago. i knew there was a reason why i never weigh them. im all simmering worry now, as i dont think thats a lot of weight gain at all! Hmm

repeats mantra style argh

FuzzzyDuck · 12/03/2012 16:14

Thanks sassy. Prob is nothing. I've noticed she is a little more constipated since starting on food (I honestly thought the fruit and veg would have the opposite effect!!) so think she needed to have a 'clear out' and I'm guessing that's what that last nappy was Grin. So glad my mum got it and not me!! She is taking sips of water from her cup which is good. Has Eva been doing anymore standing? It's funny, since I had S at HV about it, she is doing it far more now. Legs are getting stronger and I think grandad is treating her to a walker Grin

sch agree that it's a good thing but also bad about groups like this as you do start to compare, I know I do! Looks like C might skip the whole rolling/crawling bit and go straight to standing/walking! Just go with the flow. Your doing a great job! Have you got a highchair? How about cooking some pasta and putting it on the tray for him to explore. He will enjoy the texture of it all (plus if he eats it, no big deal!) Smile

CheshireDing · 12/03/2012 16:23

Aww Scheh I second what Sassy says cut yourself some slack women :)

I can't second what Sassy said about the bouncy chair because P would NEVER sit in hers for that long but as you know from that list I wrote ages ago I probably entertain too much so am trying to let her find her own way as per mn, as I have no small person experience either.

He is putting on weight, dirty nappies and as already said looks respectable and in clean clothes in his pics so don't worry and chill out. I shout at the dog a lot Blush poor bloody thing at the moment because he is sooo whingy it drives me crazy.

Have you been swimming with C? that might knacker him out Grin

I think P's weight gain has slowed Sassy but her feeding is not as frenzied either.

sassy34264 · 12/03/2012 16:23

fuzzy yeah, eva has stood on her legs practically since i posted on here that she didnt! grrrrrr but yeah!

had her 6/8week check up today- hence the weighing.

be careful with walkers. im not a fan, read too many stories of them tipping into fires and down stairs. plus i tend to think there is a reason babies dont move that fast yet............to keep them safe. they can really motor in the walkers.

sassy34264 · 12/03/2012 16:31

cheshire i think dd1 gets the brunt of my wrath. she is at that age though were she makes it so easy! the attitude on her is at least 4 yrs too early. i wouldnt dare have spoken to my dm like she does to me. Sad Angry

i have bought some baby rice ready, but dont think she will be interested yet. i will give it to her after the 19th as she will be 5months then. she hardly slept diring the day yesterday and has been down in her cot since 12pm- think im going to go and wake her now, to give her my milk and allow her to sleep tonight. im going to the gym later, so really need her to play ball!

FuzzzyDuck · 12/03/2012 16:46

The baby walker would be kept at my parents who live in a bungalow so no stairs! It would only be to keep her upright and entertained really. Glad to hear Eva is standing more now. Little buggers eh?! I was so concerned!!

My mums just txt to say she only had half her 4pm bottle and is sleeping again, 5th nap of the day when normally now she is down to only 3 naps. Says she can hear her tummy gurgling away. Heading to pick her up soon. Can't wait to give her a cuddle Sad

FuzzzyDuck · 12/03/2012 16:48

cheshire out of curiosity, what does P weight? There is only about a week between her and S and I think P was 2oz lighter than S at birth. S was 14.4 when weighed 2 wks ago

strawberrypenguin · 12/03/2012 16:48

scheh go easy on yourself, it's hard sometimes I know. Like you W is the first baby I have any experience of and DH has been saying recently that he thinks hes too clingy. I can't help but take it as a bit of a criticism of what I do with him during the day. I do give him time on his own (on may etc) but he also spends a lot of time with me. He's a fairly attention seeking baby though, always has been. Sorry that was support to be cheering you up Blush anyway I'm sure your doing a great job and C is doing well as long as he knows your there for him you can't go too wrong at this age I think.

strawberrypenguin · 12/03/2012 16:50

fuzzzy hope S is ok
