MamaMaiasaura · 11/03/2012 00:59

Dream feed at 11 then I threw up Sad and first feed of might. I need sleep and not toilet hugging.

Jnice · 11/03/2012 03:39

Oh no mama - food poisoning? Pregnant?

Be well soon x

CheshireDing · 11/03/2012 04:09

Aw Mama hope you managed to get to sleep.

Have you got a bug?

LittlePebble · 11/03/2012 04:28

Oh Mama hope you're ok x

Scheherezade · 11/03/2012 05:06

Oh mama, how has your night been? Hope you've had some rest!

Well this is Cyrus' first feed of the night since he woke for one at 10!!! He was awake and making noises at 12 and normally I'd have picked him

Scheherezade · 11/03/2012 05:11

Urgh stupid phone!

Normally I'd have picked him up to feed, but I'd had a drink so DP went to make a bottle. Cyrus was back asleep by the time he brought it up! Didn't stop me being wide awake at 2.30 thinking "this isn't right...." Hmm

So now we have to do the exact same things with him every day as we have today!

sassy34264 · 11/03/2012 07:59

mamma oh no. hope you are ok/better soon.
scheh eva has done that a few times too. its really good if they wake, dont get milk and then go back to sleep. its the start of getting a full nights sleep cos they arent asking/expecting/habitually wanting milk.

jnice i know when bfing how important it can feel to do it properly and not give formual cos it feels like failing (i felt like this with twins) etc. not sure that you feel this way or not, but for the sake of your sanity, have you considered giving him a bottle before bedtime? we have one off ready made cartons of formula here, not sure about canada- assume they prob do- so you wouldnt have to buy a full tub.
it might not even work to be truthful- if he is just waking up and so use to being fed, he may still do it. have you tried not putting him straight on and seeing if he self settles? i went through somethig similar with the twins and my mum told me to give them water instead, but i thought 'well, wont they just get use to waking up for water instead of milk though' so in the end i use to just leave them a bit and see if they went back to sleep. they were slightly older than eva is now, but eventually they stopped waking up.

MamaMaiasaura · 11/03/2012 09:33

Not sure if food poisoning (had mussels and fish pie yesterday, everyone else ok tho). My tummy actually hurts/feels bruised. Not pregnant Grin

scheh Envy of your good night but Smile for you too

jnice how was your night? Saw you posted on that other thread, it's befn worrying me Sad. Actually figured in my (limited) dreams.

Dh and ds1 at rugby training and ss2 playing on other iPhone cuddled up to me as I'm feeding J. All curled up as germ like I've befn kicked in tummy. Had some bread and coffee and now wish I hadn't.

Scheherezade · 11/03/2012 10:14

Ooh that's promising then sassy he did it twice this morning again between when I put him down and when he got up at 7, woke up and babbled a bot, usually I'd stick on boob but he just went back off.

PenguinArmy · 11/03/2012 11:31

mama how you doing now?

MamaMaiasaura · 11/03/2012 13:42

penguin I'm ok thanks, avoiding food ( not bad as I am carrying a bit of extra weight anyway). Sun shining, always makes me feel better.

Jnice · 11/03/2012 13:58

mama glad you are a little better. So sad about that other thread - I wish in a way I didn't read it as I am terrified for the DC Sad

sassy not against a bottle of formula I'm just worried it will make the reflux worse and mess things up. Not really sure what to do.

Last night at bedtime he threw up what looked like all the milk, soaking his miracle blanket. Do he was hungry and unswaddled! You can imagine how well bedtime went after that! He finally went to sleep at 11 for a 4 ht stretch (yay) and awake twice to feed - not bad really Smile

Anyone else still swaddling?

Jnice · 11/03/2012 13:59

-does happy dance for sassy and scheh- Smile

MamaMaiasaura · 11/03/2012 14:13

jnice me too. I usually avoid them tbh as I care and it bothers me when the dc aren't being protected. I alerted mnhq and there is nothing they can do.

We use a sleeping bag still here, is part of routine. She's been unsettled today, hope she's not got bug. Dh taken boys out to beach now. I wish I was with them too but J asleep on my arm and dh nagged me to rest. He's lovely, and I really don't tell him enough.

sassy34264 · 11/03/2012 14:14

jnice not sure about how it would affect reflux. sorry.
i read somewhere that you're only supposed to swaddle for the 1st month. never read why though, just assumed it was a trade off between making them feel secure and not stopping their motor/muscular development etc. but i could be wrong!

mamma glad you feel a bit better.

i was all excited this morning as my new wardrobes were being delivered from ikea. i have had 2 temp rails from agros for over a year and there was/is clothes, shoes, bags all over the bedroom. the wardrobes are floor to ceiling, wall to wall massive and i have picked all nifty storage solutions etc. so no more mess/living like a squatter. right?

Nooooooo.

dp has hurt his knee at wrestling, tried to stand one of the wardrobes up after assemblying it and his knee has give way and it is broken. FFS!
i was nice to him about it, as it was an accident but im all pissed off.
what can i do though - no point making him feel anymore shit than he prob feels. going to try and mend it with batons and brackets . sarcastic great!

BB3 · 11/03/2012 14:30

Sassy any chance you could say that bit is faulty and get a replacement?

sassy34264 · 11/03/2012 14:43

probably not. I said to dp, type what you have done into google and see what solutions there are, as im sure you're not the only idiot to have dropped a wardrobe! ( that was me being nice, as i could have said fuckwit! ) Wink
and low and behold someone has done the exact same thing, so im pretty sure ikea would know. laughing as im typing but im still.......grrrrr.

sassy34264 · 11/03/2012 14:52

ok jnice had a brief look into reflux and found this out:

If breast feeding- what you eat can make it better or worse. Need a food diary to find out.

After feeds it can/does seem to make reflux worse if the baby is put into the upright position.

If formula feeding or swapping from breast to formula and the baby has a milk/lactose intolerance you can make it worse.

You may know all this already- apologies if you do.

Jnice · 11/03/2012 17:54

Thanks sassy Smile

I eliminated dairy and soy for 2 months and that didn't help, they are the most common culprits I believe. The pediatrician we saw said we just had to wait it out. We were prescribed meds by one dr but the specialist advised against it in our case do its sitting in the fridge untouched!

MrsHende · 11/03/2012 17:57

Grin for Sassy and Scheh!

Mama I hope you feel a lot better - well done to your DH!

Jnice, sorry but I don't know whether it will make things worse, it's a confusing old business this motherhood lark.

Had a rotten weekend. L was really sick on Saturday and we ended up at the OOH doctor, she's got gastroenteritis, poor wee soul. On top of that she's also teething really badly. Combine the two and we've got horrendous nappies and a very unhappy girly and mummy. DH has taken her for a wee walk in an attempt to calm her down a little then we'll start the bedtime routine. Fingers crossed she feels better in the morning Sad.

Jnice · 11/03/2012 17:59

Sorry about your wardrobes sassy - so frustrating Angry

Jnice · 11/03/2012 18:00

Oh no MrsH what a terrible combination - you must be exhausted Sad

Hope L is all better soon.

Bubalie · 11/03/2012 22:17

OMG! It took me ages to catch up! Hello everyone, been really busy so couldn't post much. Yay for the rolling babies, L has also started rolling from back to front! Has also discovered how to put his foot in his mouth and is constantly doing it, tonight he was trying to do it while i was giving him bath! We are also progressing with the solids, he has baby cereal in the morning and then yesterday had some banana and today some pureed carrots, all going down well and he is all smiley while feeding :)! Sleep at night is good, but he sleeps on his tummy, so he sleeps well but i don't as am still paranoid although have the monitor etc. daytime naps are still a nightmare, I have to rock him to sleep if at home :(! He hates car seat and I have had to stop a few times and get him out to calm him down :(.
MrsH hope it gets better, we ended up on OOGP a few weeks back with the same thing and I remember how worried I was :(.
Promise to catch up properly tomorrow, hope everyone is well :)

CheshireDing · 11/03/2012 22:18

I thought you meant DP had broken his knee whilst building the wardrobe Sassy Grin

How are you feeling now Mama? Better I hope, did the bread and coffee stay down?

Jnice how about a Grobag if L needs to feel secure? We used to swaddle but P was always getting out of it. Can you have rice milk (or is that not good for L)?

Gosh that sounds terrible MrsH, it must be so frightening to have a poorly LO.

I have MEGA boob agony,it's all bruised feeling and lumpy, having been making P feed off it and done a hot towel and expressed still agony :(

Fx for good nights sleep all round :)

Scheherezade · 11/03/2012 22:43

Ouch Cheshire - hope you manage to sort it before mastitis sets in!!

Jnice I found C's reflux to be a lot better on formula, I guessed it was because it is thicker and sits heavier so doesn't come up as easily? Doesn't come up all smelly and curdled either!

Steamed some carrot sticks for C to munch on today, he broke a chunk off and choked on it :( not too keen on BLW now!
