Well I don't look my age, I look older, I am the youngest of three but am always accused of being the oldest (I like to think it's because I am so mature for my age Wink and did the moving out, marriage and baby thing first). I have wrinkles laughter lines too.

MamaMaiasaura · 08/03/2012 15:05

Omg. J just had first proper poo of week and it went everywhere! she is however now sleeping happily Smile

FuzzzyDuck · 08/03/2012 15:12

Silly me, laughter lines, not wrinkles!! That's a much better way of putting it bb3 Grin

MamaMaiasaura · 08/03/2012 15:14

Interesting re sleep www.parentingscience.com/baby-sleep-patterns.html

Scheherezade · 08/03/2012 15:51

That's a great article mama thanks for the link. Am currently laid down with c laid next to me giving me the best cuddle, he's got the emotional manipulation down Wink

Jnice · 08/03/2012 17:06

Shots today Sad at least this time they can't ruin our schedule! 6 feedings last night Confused

mam that article looks interesting - will give it a read when my eyes can focus again!

Will be buying some formula at the weekend if things don't improve - but don't want to introduce that for the first time when he's having shots - he will want to comfort feed for sure.

zzzzzzz

TallyBear · 08/03/2012 18:24

Mama thanks for the article. There is one thing that doesn't apply to Seb; at the end it says that one thing that might effect sleeping through is late afternoon or early evening naps. I'm not sure what age this is referring to but Seb often has a nap early evening about 60-90 mins before his bedtime. I do find that, by that time of the day, even if he's had all his naps, the sheer effort of the day means that he can't go 2 hours at the end of the day. If he is awake for that long at the end of the day he is overtired and screams.

Jnice sorry to hear about your night time feedings. Hope the shots went OK, we've got ours next week.

Engelsmeisje · 08/03/2012 19:44

Hallo all, just checking in before bed. It's only 8.30 here but I'm shattered. M managed to sleep through til 5am. An improvement ont he 2 nights before but still a pita when I had to get up for work at 6.30!

Not only did I manage to survive the day at the chalkface, but DH also seemed to do pretty well with M. Even had enough energy to go for a run when I got home but totally done for now Grin

Nice to see you back tally and sassy - we missed you!

Welcome back hobnob!

Jnice the Dutch always seem to be able to say everything in so few words, so as the Cloggies say, Sterkte (wishing you strength!).

FuzzzyDuck · 08/03/2012 19:45

Shock one of my friends had her baby this afternoon!! Waters and contractions started at 2pm. She called her mum and partner to get to house. Was coming on strong so her mum phoned ambulance, baby was born an hr later at home, all by herself!!! I'm stunned!!!! 8lbs7, little boy Grin. A story to tell when he is older!!!

MamaMaiasaura · 08/03/2012 19:51

Aww lovely fuzzy. My Friend had her first baby yesterday. 34+3 I think as due 16/4z little girl called Matilda rose 5lb4. Great weight for age. I believe all is good. So excited for them Grin x

MamaMaiasaura · 08/03/2012 19:55

Right ds2 asleep in one arm and J the other. Now extraction manoeuvres and hopeful bed to cot transfer for J. Cabin fever kicking in. Fingers x Samuel better for preschool tomoz and J has photo shoot.

FuzzzyDuck · 08/03/2012 19:56

That is a great weight for being early!! My friend was due in a few days anyway. This is her second so I guess she knew what to expect, but must have been such a panic. I've not heard anymore so not sure if she is at the hospital to be checked over etc. an hour! I can't quite believe that!!! Grin lol

Scheherezade · 08/03/2012 19:59

wow fuzzzy thats quite some story!

Good luck mama

Am shattered. C asleep in bed, I'm having a sneaky glass of red with MIL as long as she shuts up about SIL

MamaMaiasaura · 08/03/2012 20:24

fuzzy an hour is blinking quick! Missed that bit. No idea what happened with my friend, but she messaged this morning announcing her motherhood Grin.

Extraction - success
Transfer - failure

On sofa in dark with Jessica plugged on and a cuppa. I'm all shivery and weak kneed, with banging headache. didn't want to stay in bed as ds1 had parents evening and did really well. Aceing math and science (81-% in chemistry test) and didn't want him to go to bed without us catching up. He also got his grade 1 in guitar today, bless him.

MamaMaiasaura · 08/03/2012 20:25

scheh drink enough wine and you won't care Wink

MrsHende · 08/03/2012 20:35

Welcome back hobnob! I've been wondering how you were - we were in labour at the same time. However, I ended up with an EMCS only 6 hours after I got the first pessary of being induced so Lizzie was born on the 10th Nov. What is your DS called? How is he doing? And you?

We had a rather early start today. 3.30. Yes, 3.30AM!!!!!! I am shattered! Fingers crossed she is too and will give us a break tonight. (Well, when I say 'us' I mean me! DH had bailed to the sofa by 3.45!)

Went to view a nursery today. Judging unemotionally it was lovely! Emotionally though I was heartbroken at the thought of leaving L there instead of having her with me Sad. I need to man up!! Unfortunately they don't do four day contracts, only two, three or five so it's off the list. Grannie and Grandma have agreed to do alternate Mondays so that L is only in nursery for four days a week.

On the subject of looking your age I can whole heartedly confirm that Ed and Fuzzzy do not look their ages! A pair of yummy mummies! I felt quite ancient beside them Grin.

Wishing all our babies and mummies a peaceful night!

Penelope1980 · 08/03/2012 20:53

Hello everyone, apologies again for going AWOL - I have been trying to use the computer less recently as my tailbone still hurts from labour and the sitting at the computer chair isn't ideal. Ga. Does anyone else have sore things from labour still?

On the above topic I think I look more my age than ever since being pregnant, have found a grey hair (boo!) and am sure have some new wrinkles. Oh well. He's worth it!

Mrs I've been looking at nurseries as well and we are trying to decide what would be best - 3 long days (8.30 - 6) or 4 short days (9.30 - 4). What would you guys recommend?

MrsHende · 08/03/2012 21:16

Pene, I think if I had those options I'd go for the three long days. That way your LO is at home for 4/7 days i.e. the majority of the week.

So jealous of people able to go part time Envy!

PenguinArmy · 08/03/2012 21:33

pene I am seeing a physio regarding my pelvic floors from DD (so labour 2 years ago)

I thought the wrinkles around my eyes were due to DD, but looking at pictures of childless friends the same age I think they were just co-incidental. I think I have more cellulite though, despite weighing less Confused

Scheherezade · 08/03/2012 21:41

pen unfortunately I only got to 1cm dilated before being whisked off for an EMCS once labour was confirmed, however i do still get pain in my scar, and my SPD still hurts a LOT when I over do it. Last weekend a horse tried to take off with me in the middle of a very deep, muddy field, it twisted my legs and felt like my crotch was being ripped apart :(

Anyone else still with SPD pain? I'm not telling DP so he doesn't try to stop me from riding

Jnice · 08/03/2012 22:02

mama congrats to ds1 - what a star!

L had his shots (2nd set) and is now fighting naptime. All rules are out of the window and I'm desperately trying to feed him to sleep.

He still doesn't weigh 15lb, now 14.13. Seems very low to me for his birthweight (9.6). I spoke to the nurse and she was very concerned about the sleep and my wellbeing. She wants to refer me for weighing L before and after feeds to see
If he's getting enough milk. His weight gain and night feeding suggests not.

PenguinArmy · 08/03/2012 22:13

Jnice what's the centile change? Night feed aren't a thing in their own right. If bf is quite important then there are things to try e.g. switch feeding

Scheherezade · 08/03/2012 22:47

Hope you feel better soon mama and well done to DS, are you rewarding him in any way?

Scheherezade · 08/03/2012 22:50

Thinking of you tonight Jnice take care of yourself. You shouldn't have to be up so much, hopefully things will change soon for you
X

CheshireDing · 08/03/2012 23:05

Wekcome back Pene and Hobnob, I thought you had gone on holiday again Pene Grin

Congratulations to DS Mama Smile. Shame about the transfer.

Jnice 6 feedings - could it be a growth spurt or a Wonder Week?

I don't want to leave P in nursery either MrsH Sad. I want to stay at home with her, I used to care about work, not really fussed now.
