Yay! Great work C! Here's hoping L dies the same although he's already been up twice do it doesn't bode well.

Engelsmeisje · 02/03/2012 07:51

Last night I went running, as usual with my 2 sports bras to strap my chest up properly. I fed Max before I left. When I got home found my nursing pads were wet, not from sweat but from milk. So have discovered a new way to express Grin

That's what you call multi-tasking.

emmazed · 02/03/2012 08:20

sch well done c
Pa great news about rolling
engles that expressing story at work is so bad! Hope they give you the nice room from now on.
I am trying not to think about going back in oct, but I guess I can't ignore it. I was thinking a childminder may be the best option (so there is just one main adult, not lots of different people) do think cant sort it to closer to the time. I don't even know if I have a job to go back to... I want to work part time, and my boss doesn't know if that will be possible. I suppose i need to arrange a meeting in the spring

Went swimming again, j seemed to really like it

I haven't had any contact from the hv since 5 or 6 weeks (only came once) guess the support is v different for each location
Hope lots of you got good sleep last night

Scheherezade · 02/03/2012 09:00

Emma, I think the HVs leave you alone unless you contact them for support.

FuzzzyDuck · 02/03/2012 10:21

Morning all! Hope the baby's all gave you plenty sleep!! I have a black out blind in my room but unfortunately the light mornings are causing S to think 6am is time to get up Hmm. I gave her dummy and put mobile on, not sure if she went back over, I know I did Grin! She is good though in that she will lay nice and quite till 7.30am then that's it! I really need to get my sleep sorted, must make it my mission to get to bed before 11pm!!

enj Sad about your work and expressing!! Fingers crossed its sorted for next week. Grin for multi tasking! Just shows why we are the better sex Wink

We are just on way to Jo jingles. Planning to park a bit away and walk but it's suddenly got a bit dull and I'm not wearing a sensible jacket!

Have good day everyone Smile

Engelsmeisje · 02/03/2012 15:34

Quiet on here. How are we all doing today?

M has been making me laugh by trying to sit up/pushing his upper body off the ground when he's lying on his side. He's wriggling around like a little worm right now.

I don't think he's going to last much longer in his pram...it's getting way to small for him. Now I have to work out how to put together the pram Hmm

Scheherezade · 02/03/2012 15:35

Omg I've been asked to do a full day at the yard tomorrow which I can't really turn down, so I'm going to have to take my pump with and express in the house there!

What happens about it all being sterile?? I'll sterilize it before I go, but it'll be 3/4 hours before I use it. And what about the storage bottle?

PenguinArmy · 02/03/2012 15:55

it will be fine sch

the main thing with washing/sterilsing to wash away any left over milk which provides the breeding ground for bacteria. You are not protecting from air/water (not in UK anyway). The milk itself can do 8 hours at room temperature once pumped. If you have a fridge then no need to worry about anything. Just keep it all in a bag not that I always did

Breastmilk is packed full of antibodies and antivirials which gives extra protection to say stored formula milk so an extra safety net

BB3 · 02/03/2012 16:42

Hey ladies

Just popping in fairly quickly to say hello

Sche, clean off the milk and run it under a kettle to steralise the best you can, although it should be fine.

My doctor told me with Ibruprofen you have to assess whether the risks (minimal) outweigh the benefit, so only to use it if you felt you really need it but so many people have different advice I think you just have to go with what you feel.

It's manic here, work is AWFUL but getting there I suppose, the week has been manic with kids and guests so I have to spend my weekend catching up on what I couldn't get done! Angry.

Sassy, good luck to DH

Hope everyone is feeling stronger and more positive - I must get the girls in their own room! MUST MUST MUST!

Bubalie · 02/03/2012 17:36

Hello everyone, just popping in to say hi - been really busy last couple of days. Hope everyone is doing well and managing to get some sleep. Will try and properly catch up tonight!

MamaMaiasaura · 02/03/2012 18:32

Sobbed at 3am. So bloody tired. At least it is now weekend.

Scheherezade · 02/03/2012 19:21

Oh mama big hugs! It's tough isnt it.

CheshireDing · 02/03/2012 19:39

Aw Mama it's 'cos you're bloody knackered. P is through the wake-every-90-minutes phase but it was a killer at the time. Hang in there, it will be over soon.

Liking your running and expressing Engels. I keep mean to do more so DH can try and get P to take a bottle again. At the moment I cannot see how I can get to the gym we are getting P in bed for 7.30pm-ish but I cannot guarantee she will not wake for feeding whilst I would be out.

I don't want to think about work in October either Em. It had gone horrid before I left and I want to work for myself and I don't want to leave yummy baby Grin.

I went to see another nursery today and it was more expensive than the previous one and nowhere near as good. Also the staff were REALLY fat - clearly not that I would base my choice solely on that!, there were a few things which made it not so good.

BB3 did you enjoy your job before? I didn't sleep in the nursery at all last night, fed at 1.30am and 4am and whinged at 5am (but I shushed her through the monitor) Grin. Not sure if that was just a fluky night. Has anyone noticed their babies asking for a lot less daytime feeds?

CheshireDing · 02/03/2012 19:41

Enjoy riding Scheh, very Envy

PenguinArmy · 02/03/2012 21:07

mama :( However I'm sure you remember that it only takes one good day to make you feel on top of the world again.

I was in tears earlier as well, but that was due to a sudden severe headache. Had to get DH to come home so I could sleep most of it off. Went to playgroup fine and then was struggling to walk home.

Scheherezade · 02/03/2012 21:25

Hah! No riding for me Cheshire , not with 30+ horses to change rugs, turn out, feed/water/haynets/muck out all by myself...!

Scheherezade · 02/03/2012 21:26

Pa- are you bf? Make sure you keep up on the fluids because I get headaches if I'm not drinking enough.

PenguinArmy · 02/03/2012 21:29

yes mam Grin

It wasn't a dehydration headache, I am guilty of getting a few of those Blush. I am still a bit spacey, so about hit bed. Good luck to everyone for tonight

Scheherezade · 02/03/2012 21:45
Grin
Scheherezade · 02/03/2012 21:46

P.s. night! Hope you have a better day tomorrow after a good nights kip

MrsHende · 03/03/2012 02:42

This is my first feed of the night! Woo hoo!

Hope the other restless babies are giving their mummies a break too xx

LittlePebble · 03/03/2012 07:00

MrsH yay hope the rest of your night went well.
Mama hope you had a better night?
PA how was yours?
BB3 how many days are you back at work? Sorry that it's so horrid Sad
Scheh 30 horses!! Sounds knackering make sure you take loads to eat and drink
After four really tough weeks we finally seem to have turned a corner and it all coincides with the start of baby rice. Doctor told us he's so big he wouldn't sleep until we started it and that we should start from 16 wks but I wanted to wait as long as possible. Now he's so ready and it's made such a difference he's slept through for two nights. Can't quite believe it...

FuzzzyDuck · 03/03/2012 08:14

lp yay, well done little E Smile. Are you going to start introducing more now or just stick with the rice?
mrsh yay for little L too Smile
sch 30!! Hope you get a nice day for it!!

We had another good night. Just woke and S had done a 180 turn and had her head at wrong end of cot. Started doubting myself thinking I must have out her down that way. Went to get bottle made and clean nappy and she had turned back 90 and so was stuck half way Grin. She is some girl!!

Engelsmeisje · 03/03/2012 09:08

cheshire lmao at "REALLY fat" nursery staff Grin

Engelsmeisje · 03/03/2012 09:11

have totally jinxed myself by saying that M was sleeping through. He woke up at 2.30 and 3.30 and I ended up feeding him as he wouldn't settle back to sleep.

Bought him his first toothbrush yesterday. Time to start polishing those gnashers Smile

have a good weekend everyone.
