It's good to hear you sounding more positive bubalie!

Well we have some progress today, C is trying to crawl! Only, on his back Hmm . He's arching his back and pushing off with his feet. Still not interested on his front. His playmat is quite padded, so I think he might have rolled were he on a harder, flatter base.

Ooh, you'll have to show us the photos Cheshire ! What was the shoot like?

LittlePebble · 28/02/2012 19:30

Bubalie glad to hear you're having a better day. It's hard I tend to post when things are ok and go quiet when I'm struggling as I don't want to moan/ find it hard to summon energy. But I do find when I post sharing experience with everyone does make me feel better.
Scheh E does same on playmat, crabbing motions with legs as if he's trying to push himself along. Still no rolling yet unless you count rolling down me on bed today but think it was more of a fall.

LittlePebble · 28/02/2012 19:31

Mama hope you get some sleep tonight, don't have other DC to shout at but did shout at the dog a lot Blush

Engelsmeisje · 29/02/2012 07:23

hey y'all. haven't caught up properly yet but just had to share....last night M started properly laughing and chuckling at DH saying "Boo!" to him. It was so sweet (up until now he's been making a squawking sound when he laughs so we were about to rechristen him Eagle Boy). It really lifted both of us and made our day.

Work was shattering. I so much prefer staying at home with M Sad but guess it's always hard the first day back (especially when you have to run to lovk yourself away to express during what seems like every breaktime!).

Will catch up with the thread this morning, just wanted to share the big smile I still have on my face Grin

CheshireDing · 29/02/2012 08:20

Aww how lovely Engels.

The laughing that is not the work Grin

I have been shouting at the dog and the cat Pebble :( Feel bad but the cat is really demanding about sitting on your knee, I think it is because I cannot pick him up as much now as usually am holding P and the dog is moaning probably because the house is not as quiet as it used to be and he has not been listening to me, he's 3 years old he should know how to behave by now

Okay, please someone tell me there are as absolutely fooked slightly as sleepy as me. Those of you working from home please tell me how the hell you are managing it, I cannot get any of my shit act together at the moment and am starting to panic.

Off to baby class and nursery viewing now, yawnnnnn!

Bubalie · 29/02/2012 09:19

Hello everyone! Finally I have had some good sleep. And when i say good I mean brilliant, the best since l was born. I let him sleep on his tummy in his cot all night and he didn't wake up at all. i had to wake HIM up for feed around 2am. After that feed I tried him on his back and he wouldn't have it, turned him on his tummy and he went straight to sleep. He woke up at 6:30 this morning, I got him in bed with me for cuddles and we both fell asleep until almost 8am! So in total I had around 8 hrs sleep. YIPEEEEEEE! I hope everyone else had a decent night?
Engles lovely news, it makes my heart melt every time L does it!
Cheshire good luck with the nurseries, let us know how you get on.
We're off to our 'Baby Signing' class today and lunch with the friend, I feel so positive today Grin :)

Bubalie · 29/02/2012 09:22

Oh, and it's L's 5 month 'birthday' today! :)

Scheherezade · 29/02/2012 09:28

C is just screaming this morning :( doesn't want to sleep or feed. Might try dosing up on calpol and bonjela.

FuzzzyDuck · 29/02/2012 09:29

Yay that's fab bub Smile!! Glad you were able to relax and get some sleep too. Happy 5 months to L! S is 5 months old today too. Time flys eh?!
enj Sad about work. I bet you can't wait to get home for cuddles from M. What do you do for childcare? Apologies if you've already said, my memory is like a sieve just now Blush
Good luck with nurseries chesh

I'm planning to take S down to be weighed this morning. She is def feeling a lot heavier!! Although I weighed myself then picked her up and there was only a 12lb difference, she was 12lbs12 4 weeks ago so I'm hoping my scales are just out Grin. Feel like I need to get out and about, sick of being in the house! Might go to shopping centre and have a wander.

FuzzzyDuck · 29/02/2012 09:31

sch I had an hr of that yesterday. She just screamed and screamed. Eventually feel asleep but was sobbing in her sleep Sad. Can you feel any teeth coming through?

Bubalie · 29/02/2012 09:34

Scheh I hope C settles soon. Try some Calpol it can't hurt. Is he chewing on things and dribbling?
Happy 5 months to S too :) - time does fly! happy shopping Fuzzy!

Scheherezade · 29/02/2012 09:37

Sorry x posts bubalie. That's fantastic news! So happy for you, and happy 5 months little man :) I'm very Envy of baby signing! I'd love to do it. We just have toddler group once a week, and now a new baby group coffee morning on Mondays. My HV is sending me some info on what's on, but there's not going to be much as we're out in't sticks!

Calpol seems to have helped (that, or he's exhausted from screaming) so we're both off for a nap.

Bubalie · 29/02/2012 09:40

Thanks Scheh, glad C is settling and hopefully you can both get some sleep. There is a lot to do around where we live, so we try to do something every day. L does enjoy baby signing, although he can't sign as yet, too early I think, although he definitely knows sign for milk :)

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 29/02/2012 09:41

Cheshire I too am totally exhausted I think it's really starting to catch up with me. Sad

I'm in doc's ATM waiting for smear [great fun]
I had a few really busy days last week and put C in nappies while we were out and ended up being out all day so he has now completely regressed and I need to start from scratch this week. Sad

sche and fuzzy mhairi also has been crying constantly for 2 days and fighting sleep, here's hoping today is better for us all.

Buy yourself something nice fuzzzy! I have a fun day cleaning today, we have guests staying tomorrow and this house resembles Kabul.

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 29/02/2012 09:44

Engels how does expressing while your at work, work? If you need to do it more than once do you take steriliser and everything in? How do your work feel about it?

I might need to go back to work in june and am So scared my milk will dry up, with DS I started mix feeing at around 3 months and my milk dried up within 3 days Sad

Engelsmeisje · 29/02/2012 09:55

fd at the moment I am only working 2 days. One day MIL is taking M and the other DH has parental leave so he's at home. They didn't have any spaces til later in the year at the nursery we want to go to (unbelievable since we went there about a year ago to sign him up!) so in August when the new school year starts M will go there 2 days a week (it's opposite our house) and DH will be at home one day a week (I'm going up to 3 days next school year).

In Holland employers are legally obliged to allow you 25% of your working time to express milk/go home and feed your baby but working in a school that's not always practical ed. On Monday I pumped twice, once during a free period and once at lunchtime. There's a meeting room that you can lock from the inside to use, though was still paranoid that someone would come bursting in! Milk went straight int he fridge and I just washed my pump in very hot water (I don't sterilise it at home any way).

oops, M is awake and hungry....

Bubalie · 29/02/2012 17:51

Scheh hope C settled today and you both had some rest? Do you know which 'Baby Whisperer' book to buy - I just had a look on Amazon and there are a few of them? There's one for sleep but it's called something 'How to get your baby to sleep through the night'?! Is that the one?

strawberrypenguin · 29/02/2012 18:12

bub glad you got some decent sleep :)

Wow 5 months for some of the babies - where does the time go!

We have had a nursery place book for W for ages (hard to get round here) he's booked to start in sept :( we can't afford for me not to work though

eng hope work gets better

Jnice · 29/02/2012 18:59

bubalie so glad you got a decent rest Smile

Bad night again here. Just surviving the days at the moment and forcing myself to exercise. Into the last 3 weeks of the couch to 5k program and just start the shred too.

CheshireDing · 29/02/2012 19:13

We viewed one nursery today and have one booked for Friday and one for Monday. I have nothing to compare it to at the moment but so far it seemed nice. It's £801 per month full time :( You provide the nappies but they provide the food - they have a cook on site. It all seemed organised and calm too, nothing like Daddy Daycare! The babies get buddied up with their own staff member too until they are more confident.

There was a little girl who was there for 2 hours to get her used to it. She looked like she had probably been crying earlier but had got over it by 9.30am :(

P has had her hands and feet in jelly today, she didn't really care and some of the others were crying!

FD did you have babies at your nurserywho were ebf? The lady who showed me round only talked about formula so I am just wondering how that works.

CheshireDing · 29/02/2012 19:17

Are you nervous about W starting nursery Strawberry?

Jnice very impressed you are exercising, how the hell have you got the effort or time?

MamaMaiasaura · 29/02/2012 19:23

Cheshire Shock didn't realise how expensive nursery was. Strange the jelly thing. Must be hard trying to decide who will look after P. I am aware how lucky I am to be sahm at present.

CheshireDing · 29/02/2012 19:39

I know Mama, if they were full to capacity with full timers they would be making £58,000 per month!!!

Scheherezade · 29/02/2012 19:58

Sorry bubalie no idea, was just told it was called 'the baby whisperer' - maybe just go off the reviews?
