does anyone else feel like they have lost too much weight?

Engelsmeisje · 26/02/2012 14:56

Not my problem PA. Am still 4.5kg off my pre-pregnancy weight, but when I got pregnant was the lightest I'd been for a few years. Reckon I should aim for another 2kg (preferably from my saggy tummy Grin ). Hoping that it shouldn't be too hard as long as I keep up my running (and I always lose weight when I'm working as well, running round my school like a headless chicken).

PenguinArmy · 26/02/2012 14:59

That's the thing I was back to running I'd be happier. I was also the lightest I had been pre-DS. Normally 55kg (which is a little too much for me really but am/was fit so didn't mind) Pre DS 52kg, now 51kg, lost 4kg this month but 3 was when I was ill. Although I'm happy at this weight it's like I haven't got there properly so feel a bit uncomfortable with it.

Today's weather has made me miss running, naively hoping the physio will sign me off in three months to start light exercises.

PenguinArmy · 26/02/2012 15:00

if I was back to running

FuzzzyDuck · 26/02/2012 15:44

pa I lost a lot in the 3/4 weeks after having S and managed to keep it off but over Christmas I put it back on and now im struggling to get it under control again!! Got a shock when I went on scales this morning Blush. Back at the gym big time next week. Got my bridesmaid dress fitting at end of march and she was fitting me for being a stone lighter than what I was when we first tried on. I have a lot of work to do Confused

Jnice · 26/02/2012 15:52

Smile boys are much brighter today after antibiotics - what on earth would we do without them eh?

Thanks for all the support.

I sympathize with all the night issues, hang in there! L had one good night then back to usual last night. At 1am I had to top him up with the milk I had pumped for this evenings bottle. He's a hungry monster right now.

Penguin - I hope you can run soon. When you do I recommend the nhs couch to 5k program for going slowly to prevent injury. I'm finding it really helpful as I am very injury prone and tend to overdo it.

BB3 · 26/02/2012 16:22

PA how tall are you? Blimey I'm like a fairy elephant next to you!Blush I'm still 6kg off pre pg weight and had a crappy few weeks food wise but back on it next week!!!

BB3 · 26/02/2012 16:22

Jnice glad boys are picking up.

LittlePebble · 26/02/2012 16:40

Eek at 51kg PA I just worked out what I am in kg and it's a lot more than that and I'm short so don't have the excuse about height.

I was losing weight about 1-2lbs a week up until DS got ill two weeks ago followed by my fall - haven't been out walking dog/ doing as much and he hasn't been feeding as much (but my cookie consumption hasn't gone down) so need to start keeping an eye on it and now he's better to start getting out and about again.

I do think with a toddler as well it must make you lose weight quicker as you're constantly having to run around after them.

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 26/02/2012 17:06

I thought the same about Having a toddler and a baby would mean the weight would fall off but I find it's the opposite as your that much more tired you turn to biscuits sweets etc to stay awake. Plus you can't really get any decent exercise as when taking baby for a walk etc you have to walk ata 2 year old pace.

PA im Envy @ your weight! I'm currently around 78kg Shock and 5"6 I lost all my weight within the first 3 weeks then I've put it all back on and then some.
I lost 2lb at weight watchers this week though so I'm on my way to correcting it.

oh yes, I meant to say I'm only 5'1". I would like to see a sports physio before I run actually but not sure the best way of doing so.

Feel bad for complaining now, DS is down for the second time today. DH saw I was emotionally struggling and has really stepped on, which is good as DS has fed hourly today. I got some park time this morning and a general walk this afternoon with DD today :)

and there goes DS waking up

CheshireDing · 26/02/2012 17:20

I don't know what I weight but am quite confident I will never say I have lost too much Grin. We don't have any scales and I only got weighed when pregnant when I went for the NT Scan. Near the end of the pregnancy I was getting very disturbed by the look of my thighs though Grin. I can get in to some jeans I haven't worn since I was travelling so that's good enough for me. Am starting to think I need to get properly going on the exercise though and eat less now as P starts weaning soon, plus I have a 10k in May.

Glad things are improving Jnice Smile

Profound comment from DH today about P "She is very demanding at home isn't she" Grin

emmazed · 26/02/2012 17:25

mama just so sad I have no idea how I would deal with it. Things like that make you even more grateful for all we have

jnice hope things get better soon. Spring will be here shortly and all being well all the illness will be a distant memory

I am 3-4lbs more than my pre-preg weight. Seems not a lot, but really difficult to shake off. I have a few good weeks then just eat loads of cake. This weeken my pils were here and all we did was eat massive meals!

J now rolls to his front several times a day. He still can't quite get his arm free but is not far off! He hasnt put it together with rolling from his front to his back but as soon as that happens I won't be able to leave him for a moment! Need to get a stair gate I think....

Scheherezade · 26/02/2012 18:05

Oh, so many posts!

Glad Ds's are better Jnice how are you doing yourself? Have you got any supper from your hv/outside agencies? I've been told if I ever need it to just ring and I can go back into the mother/baby unit when I want. But I just couldn't do it to DP, he does C's bath every night, and he wouldn't be able to visit every day if I went back in as he'd have to get back from work for the dog.

I definitely haven't lost too much! I've toned up a lot though, thanks to working at the stables on weekends. Now nights are lighter I need to take the poor dog out more often. I'll also be riding more often with the better weather. I'm surprised I'm not heavier, I just chow down on shite all the time. I'm 5'7 and 63kg (10st).

FuzzzyDuck · 26/02/2012 22:31

Sorry need to moan, burnt all my hand filling a hot water bottle Angry. Hurts like hell!! Second time I've burnt my hands in a week! Last time was a steam burn from the sterilizer. Ouchhhh!!!!

Engelsmeisje · 27/02/2012 06:19

ouch fd!

Off to work now, wish me luck.

CheshireDing · 27/02/2012 06:56

Good luck Engels. Have a brew when you get there to ease yourself in.

FD a hot water bottle! Did you put it at the bottom of the bed like my Gran does to warm the foot area in advance? Grin

strawberrypenguin · 27/02/2012 07:03

Good luck Engels

fuzzzy ouch! Hope you are alright. I don't use hot water bottles (they freak me out a little, always worried about them bursting) so I have those ones you just pop in the microwave for a few mins. Much safer and stay warm longer too.

jnice glad the boys are getting better :)

Re weight, no idea how much I currently weigh,I know it's more than pre preg though as in up a size in trousers (not tops though)

W had a strange afternoon yesterday only managed to get about 5oz down him between 2pm and bedtime he point blank refused to take anymore. Just got a 6oz feed down him now though so hopefully whatever was bothering him has eased over night.

Scheherezade · 27/02/2012 07:03

Ouch fuzzzy hope you ran it under cold water afterwards

So I think my baby hates me. Woke at 1,3,5 and 7. He didn't really feed, can only think he's cold? Has 4 layers of thick cellular blanket, l/s vest and sleepsuit on. He usually has a sleeping bag but the only 2 that still fit are in the wash.

Scheherezade · 27/02/2012 07:05

Definitely not too hot, I felt his tummy and if anything he's cold.

Scheherezade · 27/02/2012 07:06

Oops, x post strawberry

strawberrypenguin · 27/02/2012 07:07

scheh just goes to show how different all the babies are W would melt under that! He's got his dads internal heating system :o not sure what to suggest though, maybe uncomfortable if used to a sleeping bag (love those btw)

strawberrypenguin · 27/02/2012 07:09

:o scheh I've just done it to you too. Morning :)

Jnice · 27/02/2012 07:35

I'm doing ok scheh - I am in a support group (weekly) and the facilitator calls me every other day to check on me - I have an appointment with reproductive mental health on march 15th so just hanging on on there.

How about you? Do you feel on top of it?

LittlePebble · 27/02/2012 08:20

Ouch FD hope burn is better this morning.
Engels good luck at work
Scheh rubbish night here too. Not sure what to do with him at the mo Sad
Jnice hope things are better and you're getting more sleep?
