MrsA where online did you order your dribble bibs for DS from? I definitely need to get some for Caitlin! The dribble is of epic proportions!! I would love recommendations from anyone tbh, I just know you've ordered them online before!

busyboysmum · 27/02/2012 20:39

Somer - this is the website for bibbles:

www.bandana-bibs.co.uk/

When I typed in bibbles in my search engine it must have thought I was on drugs cos the first thing that came up was Talk to Frank!!

Hope all are well - Luke is totally gorgeous at the moment, so contented and smiling and giggling, total joy.

busyboysmum · 27/02/2012 20:43

Also these:

Somersaults · 27/02/2012 21:56

Thanks Busy :)

Will have a browse later - just watching Big Bang Theory with DH at the mo while he laughs like a girl!

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 27/02/2012 22:11

Somer I got them from bandana bibs. I'll have to get more - Matthew is teething and so we get milky dribbles and teething dribbles so i need more than 4!

I'm back to the trafford centre tomorrow - mum and baby cinema showing of 'The best exotic marigold hotel' at 11.30. It's a film I really want to see (and it has some great UK actors in it) and DP wouldn't want to see it, so hopefully it'll go ok. If he cries, it won't matter cos it's just parents and babies.

Somersaults · 27/02/2012 22:40

Ooh ooh ooh! I know the editor of that film!! He's my fake uncle!

Caliphora · 27/02/2012 23:15

I'm getting some of those on Child Benefit day!

Thanks Ali hee eye seems to be clearing up on its own.

I got some dribble bibs from bubba bibs, good price. Also picked up a couple from Tesco as they are a little bit smaller so don't look so silly on E.

Just doing second feed of night so still all good here. We tried loosely swaddling her last night which was a disaster, she woke every 2 hours, so back to the faithful swaddle pod tonight.

Hope all are well

Clarabelle77 · 28/02/2012 08:06

alicat my little boy had chicken pox too so feel your pain! He was only 8 wks at the time. Hope things get better soon. As for your dress I ordered one for a wedding from Bellamama but all I can say is don't do that! Had to send it back as it was awful. Are u bf'ding? It's hard to find a dress for that. I just went for a wrap dress in the end.

Does anyone else's little one chew their hands? Sorry if this has been discussed already. Not sure if it's teething as he has done this for a while now. He keeps scratching his beautiful face though so anyone any tips for this? Tried scratch mitts but he gets them off

TreacleSoda · 28/02/2012 09:15

hi Clara yes, my DS is an epic hand chewer, he gets his whole fist in his mouth like some sort of party trick. He is teething too, but has to be different and its his side and back teeth that are coming through, no sign of any front ones at all Grin

Caliphora · 28/02/2012 09:41

clara Abi is another "party trick fist in mouth" baby. She makes these funny grunting noises with it, too, probably trying to eat her hand properly.

Don't cover his hands up though, it's a natural and important part of their exploring! I cut Abi's nails almost daily to avoid too many scratches, but inevitably there are a few - I think I'll just have to bear with it!

In other amazing news: my grandmother woke up from the coma yesterday, and they've switched the life support off - she's breathing on her own and having kidney drainage put in.
She's got stage 4 bladder cancer, so there's little they can do apart from palliative care. I just pray she'll hang on in there for another three weeks so she can cuddle her great granddaughter!

alicat10 · 28/02/2012 09:49

Cali that's great news that she is doing so much better Smile

Clara 8 weeks is so young, poor lamb. We ate looking pretty scabby here so nearly over. I am bf but going to give an expressed bottle at the do so I can wear something with a bit more scaffolding to shove by boobs closer to where they ought to be Blush & a normal dress - pepperberry ones are looking good so far - have a full price one now that fits as a back up bit hoping the cheaper eBay one will be ok when it arrives

Clarabelle77 · 28/02/2012 10:48

Thanks treacle and Cali glad its not just my little boy! He gets his hand so far in sometimes he gags! Glad to hear your grans a bit better Cali hope she hangs in there.
Ali you're right to give a bottle I ended up feeding all the way through the wedding I went to! I've not tried my DS on a bottle yet which I should have well before now. Had a lot of trouble with feeding so never really got round to it. Glad the pox is getting better DS got it thanks to DS1's nursery class.

TreacleSoda · 28/02/2012 11:46

Cali its such good news about your grandmother, it will be so special if she gets to meet Abi. I hope your gran is getting well looked after.

Caliphora · 28/02/2012 12:00

Clara It wouldn't be a day in our house without Abi gagging at least three times!

So, third round of jabs today - three bloody needles! Abi howled and howled, the nurse tried cheering her up after but Abi (rightly so) just howled right back at her!
She's passed out in her pram atm, and I've got a bottle for when she wakes up - here's praying that she doesn't decide to recommence food refusal...

Afternoon all,

Cali, glad to hear that your grandmother might have the chance to meet Abi, such an important meeting for both of them, will be thinking about you guys in the next couple of weeks.

Clara, J is a terrible scratcher, more so at night, so have bought him sleepsuits from Sainsbury's, they have stratchmitts built in, he stratched himself so badly that he has a scar on his cheek.

Ali, hope your wee one is feeling better and the pox is really on its way out! Am sure your dress is lovely, I have gotten so fat nothing fits anymore, try to diet but boredom and a love of baking is getting in the way of the weight loss.

We have all gotten the cold in this house, so the calpol is out, although not sure the wee man likes it, he spat some of it out and not sure how much he actually got down himself, still looks like his tongue thrust is getting weaker and weaker.

How is everyone today? I feel like there is a bit of a routine in place now, so that I can get some housework done and have some time to myself during the day so have been feeling a bit more relaxed, good thing as there seems to be a bunch of us having babies and I need to get two baby blankets done in the next few months as presents, so long as someone makes a decision on what colour they want.

neverinamillionyears · 29/02/2012 20:30

Couldn't let a day go by without a post on here :)

twojacks hope you are all feeling a little better today. E has long talons, I try to nibble at them but she hates it. Ho hum.

Having a little trouble bf in the evenings. When I feed her just before bed she fusses and cries. It's as if there isn't any milk left :( she keeps trying but gets frustrated. I've been giving her one little of formula at night anyway but I seem to be giving her that big more now. She feeds really well during the day. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm going to our bf cafe tomorrow after a taster baby sensory session so will speak to someone there but thought I would ask on here.

We are also going to try her in her own room on Friday. I think that we really do disturb her at night. She is now 3 months, hope it works out well. I'll still only be about 8 feet away from her. Going to be hard for me. I'll miss her!

TreacleSoda · 29/02/2012 21:09

oooh never I know what you mean! When we moved DS from the moses basket right next to me to his cot, which is all of six feet away, I almost cried because I missed him so much. And when he was really little, DH tried to help by taking the moses basket round to his side of the bed one night to let me get more sleep, and I made him bring it back as it was too far away. DH was all Confused because he was only trying to help Grin.

Good luck with the move to her own room!

neverinamillionyears · 29/02/2012 21:30

Hopefully it'll stop me waking in the middle of the night thinking Shit ooops did I forget to put her back in the cot!

I'm such a twonk, that I'm going to miss her but if it helps her sleep more then I'll try it. She still isn't sleeping much during the day.

Having a mini photo shoot on Saturday, a present to myself on my first mothers day. Hopefully we will get a lovely mum and daughter pic. Still sounds weird saying mum and referring to myself Blush

sasamunde · 29/02/2012 21:31

Well here I am typing with two hands (hence long post!) because for the 9th time in a row both kids have gone to bed! It just feels WEIRD. Know what you all mean about missing the babies. I keep popping upstairs and staring in disbelief at Blake sleeping all by himself! So independent! We are building an extension and the nursery is still under construction so no fear of leaving the moses basket just yet :)
So yes in line with the rest of you, a routine is emerging. Blake has always fussed over his last feeds never, might be for different reasons, I've decided he is just tired and doesn't want it as if I give him his dummy he settles and sleeps 4+ hours. Maybe move her bedtime forward?
Blake is also overflowing with cuteness right now. He will do a goofy giggle if I attack him under the chin so I do that a lot..
Hi Clara. I also have a scratchy baby. Also trying to nibble down his nails but they are just so sharp. Every morning DH peers into his basket and says "who won last night Blake, you or Tyler Durden?" I have been recommended a glass nail file but haven't got round to finding out what that means yet!

sasamunde · 29/02/2012 21:34

Ohhh and I know what you mean about waking and wondering where baby is! I do that all the time - I wake up propped up in bed as if bf'ing but Blake is back in his basket! Weeeeird.

neverinamillionyears · 29/02/2012 21:58

That's exactly what I do sas. I actually look around my bed first thinking I've left her there or something.

She was in bed just before 7 tonight so not too late, I think?

I love it when Erin does a real hearty laugh when I do my horse neigh (full on with head shake and lips you know) and laugh just as much every time she trumps. Especially at night and she gives a little relieved groan after. Grin

busyboysmum · 01/03/2012 09:04

Well wish me luck guys, we are trying our first caravanning trip of the season this weekend, seeing how Luke gets on in his travel cot. Not going too far, we have passes for Alton Towers' Splash Landing Waterpark so we go to a camp site a mile away so only about an hour from home. Should be interesting. He's not going to be able to go swimming though as he's got a cold poor lad so I had to postpone his jabs this week as well. Missing all the fun!

I'm also supposed to be having a girls night tonight out drinking wine and everything but the last couple of evenings Luke hasn't been settling well, might be something to do with his cold I guess. He's not been going to bed until 9pm and I'm knackered after that so not sure if I can then cope with getting glammed up and going out for the evening - sofa then bed sounds so much more tempting.

busyboysmum · 01/03/2012 09:06

Oh, and we did the baby cinema and bumped into MrsA, really enjoyed it - you can only go if you have a baby with you, and all of the babies cried at some point so you wouldn't feel all stressed if yours did. Great idea, will be going again definitely.

Clarabelle77 · 01/03/2012 10:33

Thanks girls nice to know its not just my little one. He had now started sucking his thumb which is very cute but he shredds the skin round his eyes doing it! He has a bad cold now too so second lot of jags canceled today.

Best of luck with the holiday busy we are off to centre parcs on the 12th only think I'm worried about is how we will fit everything we need into the car Grin
