OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
busyboysmum · 15/03/2012 09:09

Cali - great news.

What was the film like Mrs Arch? Am thinking of taking the boys at the weekend as it looks like the sort of thing they'd enjoy.

Think we have hit the 4 month sleep regression here, last night he went to sleep at 7pm then woke at 1am 3am 5am and 7.20am - each time a quick bf settled him. Previously we had been down to one night feed at 4/5am only.

I am well and truly cream crackered!!

sasamunde · 15/03/2012 10:39

Joining the cream crackered group! Last night we woke almost hourly. Fortunately I'm at my mum's so she took the kids for a bit this morning so I could catch up. How long does this 4 month thing go on for again?

Poor Blake has a nasty itchy rash on his head, looks like eczema or something - nurse gave me a steroid cream to treat it but I forgot to bring it with me. I think some of his wakings were because it was sore Sad He's still bf twojacks, he has had a few bottles of formula but they seemed to make him constipated so I stopped them for a bit. Wouldn't be amazed if he does prove to have some allergies or something - his poos are fine tho!

Good news about the heart murmur Cali and very happy for you poppet!

busyboysmum · 15/03/2012 13:56

Sas - are you on the facebook group? There are about 5 others going through the 4 month sleep regression on there. I've no idea how long it lasts but I'm hoping not too long xx

TwoJackRussellsandababy · 15/03/2012 17:31

Sas, I understand that cutting dairy out might help? Jacob is FF so no practical experience but I know Poppet is dairy free aswell as some others, they might help.

Second the facebook group, pm me if your not on and i friend you, everyone seems to have migrated there...

hadak · 16/03/2012 18:17

Hi Ladies.
Hope you are all well.
Cali great news about Abis heart murmer.
Poppet Exciting news about your sister.
twojacks How do I join facebok group?
Well all ok ish here. Went to docs with the spot (oh the shame of booking a GP appointment for a spot on a baby) but doc was fine and agreed he needed antibiotic cream. Also took opportunity to ask if we could get our hospital appointment brought forward as he is really goiing mad with his stomach/ bowels/ wind or whatever it is. But as he is putting weight on there is no rush. GP did notice how uncomfortable he was though so at least I know I am not imagining it!!
Sas I think Poppet has found cutting out dairy has helped willow and although I have been dairy free what seems like forever now no such luck for my little one.

Busy are you getting the caravan out this weekend? Our site opens beginning of April so OH and DS1 will go over and set up ready for us all to go the following week (weather permitting)
Hope you all have lovely weekends and happy mummies day to you all for Sunday

TwoJackRussellsandababy · 16/03/2012 18:47

Hey guys,

Hadak, I've sent you a pm about the facebook group. Glad that the docs sorted you out about his spot, hope it gets sorted out soon.

It is a funny thought about Sunday being our (some of us anyway) first mother's day, not sure how I feel about that really....

Nowt exciting happening here, had a day at home sorting out the guddle that is our house, strange how it has to get messier to get tidier, there are four baskets of dry laundry sitting in the living room waiting to get put away.

Still its the weekend and Daddy gets to take over the night feeds, guess who is most happy about that one!!!!

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 16/03/2012 20:57

Cali that's fab news about Abi - brilliant.

Busyboys film was great but only cos DS had a bottle then conked out on my chest for the WHOLE FILM!!!!! It was lovely and the bestest of snuggles. The film itself had great special effects but the storyline was weak, was very difficult to follow all the subplots and it was a weensy bit boring - probably perfect for small boys! Grin
To be honest, I find the films a great way to force myself to just hold and cuddle DS so I'd go and watch more or less anything. if I was at home, I should be cuddling DS but the myriad of things that need doing would get in the way and as he's so placid, it's very easy to pop him in the bouncer and he sits there happily watching me do stuff. At the cinema, i can't see the washing or ironing, so we can just cuddle and it's no worries if he cries!

I can't believe DS is 14 weeks old - this is going too fast. I have a keep in touch day at work coming up - basically I get paid to meet my boss in a hotel with DS and have lunch and a catch up, plus discuss my request to work 4 days from 1 oct to 31 aug next yr and go back to full time in sept 13 once DD starts school. The 18 Sept, when i return to work, is coming around far too fast.
Today he did something which I think is amazing but I'm not sure cos DD was so late in doing everything. He's not keen on sitting for any length of time as he is often sick so tonight i pulled him up to standing on the bed and instead of putting my hands under his shoulders, I held onto his hands and, well, he stood and took his weight on his legs. Is this normal or do i have super strong baby?! He was a bit wobbly but locked his legs and laughed and laughed.

And finally..... DP, myself, DD and DS are doing the sport relief mile next weekend. DD is walking it cos she's 3.5 and I'm carrying DS in a stretchy wrap, so I'm a bit nervous that I can do it as he's so heavy now. I'm using a Moby or a Close wrap and both stretch a bit after a while - any wrap users moving onto a more supportive wrap as their LO gets older?

Have a great weekend all (we have football club for DD tomorrow, followed by a party for her friend so an early start) and those having their first mothers day, have a blast and put your feet up with your gorgeous baby while DH/DP does everything else!

sasamunde · 16/03/2012 22:52

Blake is also very keen on standing straight up - doesn't quite take his own weight though, that does seem very advanced! I think it helps his digestion to be a plank :)

Somersaults · 17/03/2012 09:38

Hi guys. Sorry I've been quiet but we don't get online much here! Caitlin will stand if I hold her hands but she's only done it the last couple of days. She loves it though so she keeps trying to straighten her legs and push against anything she's got the chance to!

MrsA I tried a woven wrap instead of a stretchy wrap and whilst Caitlin didn't like it they do seem to be the wrap of choice for older babies. Worth looking at especially if DS does like being in a wrap.

I'd love an invite to the facebook group too :)

busyboysmum · 17/03/2012 10:37

Somer - how do we invite you? Let me know and I will do so, there is a lot more chatting on there now than on here and lots of lovely piccies of all the babies.

Any TC mums fancy a Starbucks meet next week sometime? I can do Thurs or Fri if that's any good, or most days the week after?

alicat10 · 17/03/2012 13:05

Somer think you need to PM TwoJacks to join the fb group Smile

TwoJackRussellsandababy · 17/03/2012 15:01

Anyone who is a member can add others, just have to be friends with one of us on facebook.

TreacleSoda · 17/03/2012 18:55

TwoJack could you PM me about the facebook group too? Its all a private group, isn't it, all top top secret? Grin

Ladies, my wee man is not wee at all. I have had to move him into age 6-9 month clothes and my heart is broken, its just so sad packing away all the little things. When my DD was this age, she was still in 0-3 month clothes! Although I do take some consolation from the fact that he is so big and healthy, which is a blessing obviously. But they are little for such a short short time Sad.

TwoJackRussellsandababy · 17/03/2012 19:00

Anyone who wants join, pm me with your facebook info and I'll add you as a friend and then onto the group :)

Jacob has just gone into 6-9 month clothes too, it's a bit sad I agree, but hoping that they will have another outing on a second baby....

busyboysmum · 17/03/2012 22:22

Luke is in 6-9 as well, can't believe it. So have packed away newborn, 0-3 and 3-6 already. They get big too quickly - half the stuff is unworn!

Somersaults · 18/03/2012 10:08

Happy Mother's Day everyone :)

Mine's almost over here in Australia and it was lovely so I hope all of yours are just as special xxx

PerishStorm · 18/03/2012 22:06

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Have turned into a complete lurker as not really much to report this end. DS is now 19weeks old and 16lb3oz. Loving baby massage and bumps and baby group, especially flirting with the girl babies! Unfortunately, the little guy seems to have a tummy upset today and seems generally under the weather.

Love reading about all your LOs and I am also well and truly on the Bumbo train - DS loves his! Hope you've all had a lovely day.

PamSco · 18/03/2012 23:23

Marking place. I'm guilty of having been on fb more. Mainly because I use my phone and mn loads badly. Hope you all had a fab mother's day.

sasamunde · 19/03/2012 14:47

Hope you all had a lovely mothers day, especially if it was your first! I didn't get any special treatment but we did all go skiing indoors with real snow and it was ace! DD loved playing in the toddler area and I loved wiping out dramatically in front of grandma...

Well day 6 in the Baby Brother 4-month-sleep-regression house and we've had 2 bad nights (1 or 2 hourly wakings), 1 good night and 3 "normal" nights where Blake sleeps till midnight then wakes every 2 hours. My eyes have sunk into puffy holes... Yes please to TC coffee on Thur! Can do next week too.

sasamunde · 19/03/2012 14:52

Oh and packed away, busy? You contemplating a fourth? Grin
Blake has also outgrown 3-6 month stuff cos he is so long. Trouble is my 6-9 month babygros don't seem to be any longer, just wider at the neck, so he scooches out of them! Might have to change brands.

busyboysmum · 19/03/2012 19:36

No, I meant actually packed up and given away, boo hoo. I am too old sadly, my joints all ache, my back has gone and at the moment I've got a trapped nerve in my leg! I am pathetic - I was walking past pregnant ladies today feeling gutted cos I won't do it again, what is wrong with me?

Thursday coffee at Starbucks at 11am? Will post on facebook in case anyone else can make it.

chipmonkey · 23/03/2012 11:05

Ladies, your Roses finally arrived here in work today. They are in a rather impressive tall box which I haven't opened, I will need to wait until I get them home. So it will be wellies and spades this evening! Thank you all so much, I will think of you when I sit in my little arbour in my Sylvie-Rose garden. I really do appreciate all you have done for us and for keeping us in your thoughts. I do peek at your babies from time to time on FB, especially Willow, as I imagine what my little angel should be doing and I hope she is doing with my Dad and Nana. I'm sure they have Bumbos in Heaven!Smile

TwoJackRussellsandababy · 28/03/2012 17:38

Guys, have you all managed to get onto the facebook page? It's definitely busier than here, I can see the tumbleweed blowing through....

Bluetinkerbell · 07/04/2012 23:38

Hello you lovely ladies... it's quiet on here Wink hope you are all busy with your lovely little ones!

I am very pleased to tell you that I am expecting another November baby! :)

TwoJackRussellsandababy · 09/04/2012 07:24

Blue, such good news, congrats!!! We have pretty much all gone off to our facebook group, do you want to join us there, cos you will still be having a November baby, it'll just be a little younger than the rest!!!
