Welcome back everyone!

If I don't let him nap in the morning he'll sleep on the way to get L which is at 3pm and far too late for him to be sleeping. Even today he was trying to fall asleep on the walk cos I'd not let him nap his full 2.5 hours. He walks some of the way but essentially it's a buggy ride cos he's so pigging lazy. I'm seriously pissed off at the mo though, he creams in every day at around 4pm and is whiny/clingy and wailing til bedtime when as soon as I close the curtains he's bouncing off the walls. ARGH!

memphis83 · 28/05/2012 20:40

chul hoping its just a phase, L has never been like that, im hoping he doesnt change once on a bed though. he was crying at 5.30 for bed! we dragged him out til after 7 and hasnt moved, he was up at 5.30 today.
L never shuts up I think he said 'where are you' about 200 times on a loop before we even went downstairs while he was sat next to me this morning!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 28/05/2012 20:57

2.5 hours? Shock Shock

If W sleeps at all it's 30mins to an hour otherwise my evening is a distant memory.

He's settled into a bed brilliantly too, really pleased

memphis83 · 28/05/2012 21:45

L naps fot 2.5 hours, today he only had 1.5 ands thats why he was a Pita all afternoon.

Chulita · 28/05/2012 21:46

I don't let him have 2.5 hours obviously but on the odd occasion that I forget to wake him that's what he'll have, but then he doesn't sleep til 9.30 and i'm kicking myself.
At least he doesn't talk yet so i'm spared that for the moment.

Chulita · 28/05/2012 21:49

Stupid thing is L would still have a 2 hour nap and sleep 7-7 if only s would let her.
Memphis, s is a pain with no nap too but it's a juggling act. Roll on the next 6 months or so...

Woodlands · 28/05/2012 23:01

Urgh that sounds tough Chulita! I hate having to wake J from his naps but I have to or else he'd sleep at least 2 hours and then never sleep at night. Tonight I really struggled to get him to sleep as it is so damn hot. He's just in a vest and nappy but I'll put a blanket over him when I go to bed shortly.

Sorry I haven't been on for ages! We had a lovely holiday, really relaxing, and J slept through every night and every night since! I just can't believe it. Maybe tonight will be the night it goes wrong again. He had a pillow in his cot on holiday so we've given him one at home now and he seems to sleep really well with it. It does seem a bit odd to have him in a sleeping bag with a pillow, but I'm a bit reluctant to buy a cot-sized duvet when he will only be in a cot for another six months or so. I think I'll keep him in a sleeping bag till he moves into a bed.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 29/05/2012 06:42

W had a sleeping bag with pillow from about 1yo. Then he had a cotbed duvet for a little while but for ages now he's just had a single godawful Thomas the Tank Engine duvet. He doesn't need anything for his birthday so instead I'm going to do his room up with the Next 'digger' set.

When W sleeps at nursery he wakes up himself after somewhere between 45 mins and an hour. They're both in bed now, I've been up doing my weights :)

memphis83 · 30/05/2012 11:29

So quiet on here! weather is fab again, L grazed his knee and is telling everyone oh nooo, my Nanny broke it! We have just had to enrol L into primary school! seems crazy, 2014 seems so far away yet im having to plan things that far away, but better to get him in now, I moved back here to get him into that school, would hate for him not to get in! A friends DD has been turned down for a place as she applied too late (12 months ago!)

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 30/05/2012 17:18

E and W's names have been down for the primary school (where they go/will go to pre school respectively) since they were 5 months old. And if they don't get a place I'll be furious as I'm a parent governor Wink

Morning of washing/housework and afternoon of softplay. It's definitely easier to go to work Grin

DesperateHousewife21 · 30/05/2012 19:26

Hello everyone!

Trying to keep up with this thread as much as I can.

In glad it's not just me having nap/ bedtime issues. D now has about 30-40 mins otherwise he's up til all hours.

Except recently (and I think he's getting his last tooth through) he's been taking 45-60mins to go to sleep and even then I have to lean over his bed so he can hold my arm Hmm and then he'll only sleep 20 mins and he's crying again with a hot sweaty head.

In other news, my preg is going ok, I find out the sex next sat. However my blood tests show a low level of hormone which can make the placenta not work as well which can cause growth issues with the baby so I'll need extra scans.

Hope everyone is well and had a nice week of sunshine.

Chulita · 30/05/2012 20:41

Well, S had no nap at all today and we were out this morning and spent the rest of the day running around the garden and he was still pratting around til 8.30. I reckon he'll suddenly start talking or shoot up 3 inches cos otherwise I can't work out what the game is.

Glad all's going well dh hopefully the hormone thing will settle down, lovely to get extra scans in :)

I've not thought about L's school, I don't even know if we'll be here or moved. I also don't want to think about her being big yet!

B's got his first jabs tomorrow I hate taking them to get stabbed with needles [big wimp emoticon]

WhatSheSaid · 30/05/2012 20:42

I cant help on the school issue of course - it seems crazy having to apply so early. I phoned up the school we want A to go to in November and they told me I don't need to enrol her till the end of August! If a school here has a catchment area and you live in it, they automatically take you. If it doesnt have catchment area they take anybody who wants to enrol.

Dh is flying to Wellington for two days for work stuff today. I am about to walk to pre school with the dcs. All is well except G s temper tantrums which are reaching new heights - she screamed for 20 mins yesterday because I took her coat off. They just make me laugh though which infuriates her even more :)

dhglad the pg going well, hope all the extra scans go well, I had a few extra ones - high blood pressure - they were worried about insufficient nutrition getting to the baby from the placenta. All was fine.

memphis83 · 30/05/2012 22:17

mlic it just seems far away! My half brother was on list before he was born as only 8 per year at him school!

Been for a gorgeous meal, owners gave us a bottle of champagne DH doesnt drink it so it was all mine
There were 2 couples on next table one married, the other just engaged they talked weddings the whole time and have visited 20 venues! The poor bloke sat in silence, they fried my brain, yet dh was listening haha!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 31/05/2012 10:31

I envy you that you can laugh at it wss, I get sooooooo annoyed and I can't help myself!

WhatSheSaid · 31/05/2012 10:42

It's 8 years of working with under 2s. If I'd got annoyed every time one of them had a tantrum I would have spent a lot of time being annoyed.

I feel a bit mean saying I laugh at her. But I just feel like saying Really? Because I took your COAT off? Relax!

Chulita · 31/05/2012 13:04

I find my two's tantrums very funny too, DH blows his top but that just fuels the fire. S is awful and I end up sticking him in an unobtrusive spot and playing with B or chatting to L til he's stopped. L tantrumed from early on but absolutely NOTHING like S, he's a little Tasmanian Devil!
He's also down for a nap again, I've decided he's overtired. The nursery nurse I was chatting to today said boys have hormone spikes around 2 and 4 years old where they go crazy for a while, maybe he's just hitting his!
memphis I loved chatting weddings, dh not so much but hey ho, ours didn't take much planning sadly - it all just fell into place without much thought even though I'd have loved to have thought it all through and planned it. It was the perfect day though so maybe that's just the way it works for us!

memphis83 · 31/05/2012 14:11

chul I will do lots of planning nearer the time but will just book venue now, i just dont get bridezillas, dhs friend spent 3 years planning, thats most weekends doing something ! Iwill be cake tasting at every wedding fair i can get to though but go on to get an m and s one and decorate it myself

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 31/05/2012 18:48

We were married 9 months after dh proposed so didn't have time to over-plan iyswim. I loved every minute of planning my our wedding and would do it over again happily (with dh of couse!)

That hormone she was talking about kicked in when W was 3 weeks old chul Wink

I am amazed - I cooked a curry tonight and made a spicy madras. W came along asking for some and I was all 'haha yeah go on then, you'll soon change your mind when that hits your mouth'. Oh no. He demolished half my tea! Greedy little monkey.

viksam · 01/06/2012 08:36

HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!
im sorry i havent been on here for ever, i have really wanted to and have missed you all.
Re tantrums, D has been very trying this last week, he lost it big style on tuesday morning, he wasnt eating his cerial so i took his figures off him and he went NUTS!! for ages, i put him in the conservatory and went about my business, but he was in a right state in the end it was awfull, it really upset me, i need to grow a thicker skin! he is also doing this really annoying squealing thing when he gets frustrated, it infuriates me beyond reason and i just see red, i think i need anger management!! will post more later, off out in a bit. xx

memphis83 · 01/06/2012 09:06
