Welcome back everyone!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
DesperateHousewife21 · 12/04/2012 08:17

Hello everyone, just caught up on posts.

trudy sorry you're having such a rough time atm, really hope things settle down for you. Even if the children are well then things seem easier to cope with.

mlisc I was debating whether to get fish, D likes them too but then they are quite pointless and you don't get much back from them. I might wait til we have a garden and get a rabbit (dh not keen but I love them!)

Feeling quite sick nowadays, had my mw booking in app yesterday, so strange to be doing it all again! I've got to go to the hosp to get my blood taken (mw did it herself with D)

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 12/04/2012 08:21

Yes my boys love the dogs. W especially. I almost bought a tank yesterday but thought better of it. As much as I'd like some, and W would Love some, I think I have enough on my plate to be honest. I will ponder it a bit longer. Steam fair is today, we didn't do much yesterday apart from buy ds1 a new game for the ds but don't tell memph Wink

Good luck at the doctors

dh how are you feeling? What are you now, about 7-8 weeks?

Anything exciting going on your side of the world wss?

kk has business picked up? Hope you had a great birthday.

I watched Shutter Island last night and thought it was excellent.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 12/04/2012 08:22

x post dh Grin

viksam · 12/04/2012 13:58

I watched the notebook yesterday, omg i really could have done with a comedy tbh, its the saddest film i have ever seen, i absolutly blarted my face off, poor F, he was watching me intently and his bottom lip came out in a propper gib!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 12/04/2012 17:23

Really? See I thought it was ok, but not that sad. Although Ryan Gosling makes any film watchable imho Wink The last film I cried my eyes out at was Sarah's Key. Two 'lighter' films I have watched and liked recently are Hangover 2 and Crazy Stupid Love (Ryan Gosling again...mmm...)

memphis83 · 12/04/2012 20:35

The notebook is voted the saddest film of all time, I cant face watching it!

mlic I dont see a problem in a DS but that bloke let his kid that was only a couple of months older that L play for a minimum of 3 hours a day, I wouldnt trust L with one as he is too young. and its mine
dh glad all ok with you!

Had a sill manic day at work, L has done nothing but shit all day, we came home at 7.15 and in 1 hour 4 nappies! my sister said his tonsils are red and swollen, he seems happy but wont eat still and it calpoled up constantly, I said to go docs tomorrow, but IL's all think its a waste of time as its teeth? WWYD? I know they will say calpol and fluids but he is shitting to high heaven all day since Tuesday and feel bad for him.

WhatSheSaid · 12/04/2012 21:10

I've never seen The Notebook. Am trying to think of sad films I have seen but can't think of any at mo.

Not much happening this side of the world Smile. A is on Easter holidays from pre-school so we have been catching up with friends, playing at the park, etc. Today I think we will have a little stroll to the nearest park followed by an exciting afternoon waiting in for the online food shopping delivery. G has been waking really early again since our clocks went back (nearly 2 wks ago), we're having 5am starts again. Try to ignore her but she just gets louder...
memphis he may need the doctor if it's tonsilitis or something?

memphis83 · 13/04/2012 11:39

At 11.30am L had filled 12 nappies! at 6.15 he woke...he had done 5 by half past, and im talking so much the nappy cant soak it up quick enough! ychanged him before docs, outside docs when we got there and by the time I had filled in the form he had leaked over his trousers again, we both sat in the corner stinking the waiting room out, he has swollen throat and ears, he has a bug and they have given him rehydration drinks.
just sat down for first drink of the day, he has gone down for a nap!

viksam · 13/04/2012 13:38

Oh no memphis poor boy, what ashame, do they think the bug is making him poo? Or is it making the existing problem worse? U need to look after yourself too!
I have an issue with F, hes only taking part of his feeds at any one time, hes already on gaviscon and infacol. I just cant get him to have a whole feed which means he doent take in enough milk in the day and has started waking twice at night again, around 2 and 5ish, when HE thinks hes awake for the day! he also is posseting really badly, i would say hes bringing up a third of what he has taken?? The Doc didnt seen to think it was a problem and didnt want to refer me to the peads, which i can understand but its not right and i really wanted to be getting into a nice routine by now and its not happening. This sleep deprivation is getting HARD now but i cant say anything to dh as he is struggling too.

Chulita · 13/04/2012 14:07

I'm still here and reading but cba to post. I haven't got my head around organising 3 so I don't feel I've got much time. B still won't settle in his basket so during the day I have to carry him around all the time or he screams and at night he'll sometimes do an hour on his own but then sleeps on me. He's also got the most horrendous cough that he's not shifting, I'm a bit worried tbh but the GP said there's nothing you can do at this age.
Youngest brother's wedding went well, S was up at 4am on the day though and wouldn't resettle and we drove home afterwards so didn't get in til 11.30pm...was a looooong old day. I've promised other brother 50 fairy cakes for next Saturday which I'm sort of regretting. I really want to make them but I'm sooooo knackered at the mo.

trudy sounds awful round yours at the mo, does anyone have any idea what's wrong?

viksam I find at the moment both the older ones are sleeping relatively well but B's a nightmare. I know the one night he sleeps well the other two will be up all night!

mlisc I hated Shutter Island, made both of us sob our eyes out and we had to stop it for a break. Steam fair sounds great!

dh fingers crossed your sickness goes fast, not easy looking after a little one when you feel like shite.

wrt pets I'd love a cat but we move so much it wouldn't be fair on it to drag it around the country and it's so much easier to go away without sorting pets out.

L won't stop chattering, I'm tired and grumpy and she's doing my nut.

viksam · 13/04/2012 15:03

chu u can have my cat, bloody thing!! All that carrying sounds knackering! How are u feeling in yourself, are u healing ok, hows the scar? Have u considered cranial ostiopathy for B? Im going with D on tuesday, £31 but i decided i have to go down every avenue available. Do u have a swing for B? F likes the swing its a lovely padded one so he can stay in there for as long as he likes. Re my msg above, Just changing F's nappy and he had a really hard poo in there and as i was doing it more hard poo came out and its really grey as well. Last time he had grey poo the doc said it could be a virus, he did have a cold at the same time. Maybe thats whats up with him and we just need to ride it out. DH has had the afternoon off and gone to meet the childminder and D at a bugs ctivity afternoon at one of the sure start centers, they have been much longer than i thought they would so hopefully they are having a nice time. Its the first time DH has done anything like that with D.
cake where are u?? Isnt it time for another survey soon??
memphis did u say u were meeting Needles or did i dream it?
tsc hows ur ds baby? and how is F doing atm?

Chulita · 13/04/2012 19:22

The scar's ok thanks, still sore but then this last week I've been lifting the other two more just cos you have to really. B's got a swing and a bouncer but he just wants to live in someone's arms. I'm dreading next week, it'll be my first week with all 3 on my own and I can't drive yet so not sure how I'm going to get L to nursery. I tried pushing the buggy the other day and it was really painful, just hoping my neighbour's able to sit and watch S while I walk L with B in the wrap...goodness knows how I'll get everyone ready to leave the house at 8.00am though!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 13/04/2012 20:44

Was thinking about you and yours today chul - have you heard anything about a hearing test for S?

We didn't go to the steam fair in the end, we went to a big children's farm instead. The steam fair was £35 to get in, plus a hefty drive to get there and I wasn't sure how much the boys would et out of it. Next year maybe. They loved the farm anyway :)

Been bowling with ds1 today. He loved it (first time he's been) and I struggled to get him out of the place! He was desperate to play again.

Hope L has been better this afternoon memph

Vik I feel for ya. It doesn't last forever though it just feels like it

CakeandRoses · 13/04/2012 20:49

right, i'm just gonna post now then read properly (have ben dipping in and out) and then try to post again otherwise it just won;t happen!

God, I;ve missed you lot. life's been rather trying of late - 6 or 7 weeks of bloody children's illnesses... Aurelia's now got chicken pox. work is crazy busy and dh and i have been tag-teaming to cover nursery exclusions every single flipping week and then having to work late at night to catch up.

the good news is that A is now fine with just having a bedtime bf. it's been bloody hard work as she was coming down with chicken pox when i was weaning her so she obv felt ill and wanted to comfort feed but i didn't realise Sad

and she slept through for one of the first times ever last night (shame I was working til 1am tho so still woke up knackered! grrr!)

dh away this weekend so i have the further joy of a weekend of quarantine home alone. my father's having F tho so at least he won;t be crawling up the walls.

sorry, didn't meant to make this such a moan. i'm actually fine, just fucking tired!

i know poor trudy's having a far worse time of it. really hope things get much better soon.

will post this and then read back again.

WhatSheSaid · 13/04/2012 22:39

memphis, I was going to say, he'll be getting dehydrated if he's filling that many nappies! Glad you've seen the dr.

chul I'm v impressed you offered to make any fairy cakes let alone 50 with 3 small dcs! I'm not surprised you're knackered. Do you not feel up to driving yet? I drove 4 weeks after 1st c section and 2 weeks after the second - I found driving much easier than trying to push a pram tbh.

vik the sleep deprivation is awful, I remember it well. Just get through one day at a time was my way of surviving it! I think it all started getting better when G was about 4-5 months.

cake all sounds full-on with work/illnesses. Did anything come of dh's possible new job?

Saturday morning here, dh has taken A and the dog for a long walk somewhere so I should really do something about the state of the house instead of MNing. Then A is going over to a friend's house this pm. Another friend has invited us over for tea so that's the day full up.

G has been waking at 5 every day and not going back to sleep, today she woke at 4.45. I decided I'd had enough, gave her some milk in her cot, said "It's still night time, go back to sleep", went back to my room and turned the baby monitor off (she's on a different floor to us so normally have monitor on). Next thing I knew it was 7.45 am, dh was up with A and G was just getting up. So it must have worked.

Woodlands · 13/04/2012 23:15

Sounds like some pretty rough times again here for lots of you! Are those of us who aren't having such a bad time put off from posting?

Cake, sorry to hear about all the bugs - hopefully they'll all clear off soon.

Viksam, poor old D - can't believe all the dreadful nappies you're having!

Chulita, you must learn to say no... 50 fairy cakes! You're mad!

MLISC, liked your photos on FB!

Trudy, you poor love - so hoping things improve for you soon.

Things is OK here - am about to jinx J's sleeping by saying that if he sleeps through tonight it will be a whole week of him sleeping through, for probably the first time ever. Of course now having said that he won't sleep through tonight... Our horrible neighbour has now moved out so now would be a great time to do controlled crying if we needed to - so maybe J will carry on sleeping through for the time being just because it's sod's law!

He has been healthy for the last couple of weeks too which always makes life better - he was lovely and cheerful for my family over Easter, and loved staying on the farm and seeing the lambs/cows/tractors at least twice a day. I have now caught the conjunctivitis he had last week, and it's pretty uncomfortable! Ah well.

Had a fab night out with some of my mum friends last night - I got quite drunk (and am a bit embarrassed as half the group was pregnant so they were all fairly sober!). My friend got her bag pinched in the pub though which sucked. I was sooo hungover at work this morning - am not cut out for school-night drinking these days...

Chulita · 13/04/2012 23:48

I have a smartphone :) currently in bed, dh is snoring and I'm trying to convince b to sleep.
Wss glad b listened to you! I'm still bruised from the cs so not keen on driving yet. Might have to tho
Cake, it's great that a took the bf changes, bit jealous at you getting cp over with. Hope you start getting some sleep soon!
Woodlands i'm totally rubbish with late drinking nights too...my teenage self would be ashamed.
I don't blame you for not steaming at that price mlisc, at this age the farm's deffo a bettet bet.
Can't wait til b starts sleeping

DesperateHousewife21 · 14/04/2012 07:51

Bit late with replies but I think the notebook is a v sad film, I remember watching it (for the 100th time) when preg with D and I was blubbing my eyes out by the end.

mlisc I'm nearly 10 weeks now! Have my scan on the 11th may when I'll be just over 13 weeks, feels like aaaages away!

D is sleeping better, 8-4:30 in his own bed last night. I even managed to leave his room while he was still awake.

Hope everyone is well and all dcs behaving!

OP posts:
viksam · 14/04/2012 13:47

Jez chu it sounds like hard work....but sometimes its better to be on your own, i find that i get on much better on my own and i bet you will once you have got into your stride. How far is the nursery? If your leaving S could you leave B as well, i know you wont want to but it might be better for a few days if your not going to be long.
dh that sleeping sounds loads better just shows he can do it if he wants to.
Much like D, he did the crying thing last night, stop start on and on for two hours, i went in three times once initially, once to medicate and once two hrs later because i really thought there must be something wrong, he felt slightly hos so i took his sleep suite off and told him very firmly, and he settled then. I was gutted though coz F didnt wake till 3 so obviously i thought he wont wake again now till sensible O'colck but noooooo not my child, he wakes again at 5.40! WHY man!! Im gona have to do some serious settling coz i cant have this its madness.

memphis83 · 14/04/2012 18:12

Hello just dipping in between shitsville, L is so bloody ill, he wont drink the rehydration srinks, pharmacist has said dairy will feed the bug yo starve it and he wont eat so what am i suppost to do? literally starve him?
DH was up with him all night, he filled 8 nappies in the night, vommed over himself and his bed over and over, in the past 24 hours we have used nearly a pack of nappies over a pack of wipes and about 15 vests and had him in the shower loads
im.so.over.this.shit
and dh is at work all day tomorrow, I want to cry at the prospect of it

DesperateHousewife21 · 15/04/2012 08:07

memphis that sounds awful :( must be hard for everyone but esp you doing it on your own. If he's drinking water then he won't starve, no child/ baby/ person I know would not eat if they were literally starving.

OP posts:
Chulita · 15/04/2012 09:25

Memphis dh is right, try everything to get liquid down him and leave stuffike cheerios or weetos around in case he wants something. Sounds like a mega awful bug

memphis83 · 15/04/2012 09:39

He was up all night, dh sat on chair in his room all night then went to work at 5am! but he didnt fill any nappies, has done 3 today so far, he is drinking squash and has had some smoothie.

dh I bet your dying to tell everyone, everyone around me seems pg at the moment!
chul what did you wear to the wedding in the end? did you get hold in pants?

Chulita · 15/04/2012 15:33

I wore a purple dress with an orange cardi, sounds hideous but the colours go well in the shades I've got. I found some hold in pants from post L that fit but they rounded me off rather than sucking me in. I'm still too bruised to wear serious suck-ins!

WhatSheSaid · 15/04/2012 21:37

How's L been today memphis? It sounds horrendous. By some fluke we have never had a vomiting or diarrhea bug with either of them.

Sunny day here and we have another week of holidays so not sure what I'm going to do with them today.
