Welcome back everyone!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
kkfairybrains · 09/03/2012 10:15

Chul you need to get to the docs. They might just give you something and if they do it'll have the 3 or 4 days to kick in before the op. can't believe how close it is now! And by the way you are an ace wife making cakes for dh and his workmates!!
Mlic I would have been livid if that was me! I wouldn't be as nice as to just go to the couch I would have made dp go! Grin
Vik poor little F. Wish I could give some advice. I've heard sleeping on the front helps too or else you can get some sort of contraption for the cot that elevates them or something. I think it was stac that got one for R.
Busyish day ahead. Been very quiet the last 2 weeks apart from last Saturday. I feel a sale coming on! Sad it's better to have people here paying fuck all less anything than having nobody I suppose. And I'm not feeling great either. Really really tired and a bad pain in my eyes and no energy and I'm getting sleep so can't understand it! Was in bed asleep before 10 last night and still had the pain in my eyes this morn.
Glad Clara's tests are ok tsc. can imagine that would be very scary seeing her like that.
Woodlands that sounds terrible about J's nappy! Did you enjoy your night?

Chulita · 09/03/2012 10:40

I can't get to the doc's, they're fully booked til Tuesday afternoon. She said she'd ring back but hasn't yet. We have a drop in nearby I might go to once DH gets home assuming he's early.

L woke up at 4.45 crying/fever/cough and has spent the whole morning dozing on the sofa, face grey as anything, fever and not wanting to eat/drink anything. Seriously, we've not had 3 days in a row where one of them isn't ill since before Christmas. S is finally picking up a bit and she goes down like a lead balloon.

mlisc not a great night for you. I hate it when DH stays up late, he comes to bed around 1ish and wakes me up, takes me ages to get back to sleep while he's snoring away! Mind you for the last fortnight he's been in the spare room cos I was keeping him up coughing.

Ack, posting while sitting in the garden so S can run around and it's starting to rain. He needs to go out really but what with me and L both needing duvet days it's not going to happen!

Hope work picks up for you fairy, must a nightmare not having any customers!

CakeandRoses · 09/03/2012 12:12

chicken pox here - will type more once i've got a mo

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 09/03/2012 12:12

Chul that is ridiculous. Their practice policy is dreadful, booking appointments in that manner. Isn't there even a nurse practitioner you can see? Ring back and that's an order and request a telephone consultation. Then hopefully you can stress the importance and they will fit you in as an extra.

Agree with you kk, less profit is better than no business at all. Sorry it's quiet for you though :(

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 09/03/2012 12:14

x post cake - nightmare! Hope they're just spotty and not too poorly.

Trudyla · 09/03/2012 13:05

Sorry about all the poorly babies and mums. WTF is going on? So far 2012 has just been an utterly shite year.

Things are shocking here. Had treatment on Monday which was OK but must have overdone it straight after so have had blood pouring out of me for days now, literally like from a tap. Keep having to go back to the doctor to put styptic stuff on but it keeps coming back. Sad Am hardly allowed to move now which is putting a huge strain on DP. We are hardly talking anymore. He told me last night to stop being a victim after I contemplated which hospital I would have to go to over the weekend to stop the bleeding since my doctor won't be there Confused Really not like him to be like that.

Anyway, the good thing is that the results came back and it's not cancer. It's the very worst form of pre cancer cells though, which is very scary. I had a smear at the end of 2010 that was normal, so these cells have developed scarily fast.

Kids are OK. F has still the last bits of a cold and M seems to have ear ache but they are both cheery enough. F's giggles are just hilarious and M is being super cute playing with her dolly, pretending to burp it and walk it around in the dolls pram, just like we do with F.

Hope everything picks up for you all soon. Spring can't be far off now. Laters.

Woodlands · 09/03/2012 13:16

Eeek Trudy that sounds dreadful, poor you! Hope it stops quickly and your DH stops being an arse.

Oh no, Cake, bad luck - hope neither of them is too poorly with it.

Hope you get to see a GP today chulita!

CakeandRoses · 09/03/2012 18:40

oh heck trudy that sounds awful. poor you. really hope it stops soon. and thank god you caught it early.

did you get to see a doc chul? your gp's system, is shitastic - they should have a same-day system for urgent stuff.

what a shame re work kk. have you tried doing anything special to lure people in - eg brazilian blowdries or whatnot?

sorry i'm so quiet. bloody knackered. only A's got it, i think F had it before tho not certain as it was mild if so.

the poor baby has 3 spots on her tongue which are obv v painful and stopping her eating. she just bf all last night.

altho the doc confirmed (by phone) that it's prob CP, I'm a bit suspicious that it might be hand, foot and mouth now - only because she has it so bad in and around her mouth, very slightly on her hands and nowhere else.

pics online make cp and H,F & M look identical. anyone's DCs had both?

tbh, loads of children we know have cp so it is more likely, i was just expecting more spots everywhere. or will that come?

when F had it, he had very mild spots too so maybe she will too?

was supposed to be away this weekend for my mothers 60th but have had to cancel not least cos i don't fancy bf a toddler non-stop in front of extended family Hmm

memphis83 · 09/03/2012 19:22

mlic I too hate going bed without dh because he wakes me up, you should have kicked him to the sofa! Grin
chul hope you have been to the drop in center and they have sorted you out with something?
cakes poor A that sounds so sore, hope she gets better soon.
trudyla glad your back on here, and hope the bleeding stops soon, you need to rest to try and stem the bleeding, my mum used to have to lie on her front for 90mins a day when I was a new born or 3 weeks as she heamorraged (not sure if lying on your front would help but thats the advice the gave her?)

We had an absolutly amazing day, L was a joy, was a bit freaked out by the giraffe when it put its head into car, he actually climbed off of my lap into his carseat! we are about to have a chippy tea (dh got given the choice of any takeaway and picked this!) then tomorrow we are having a curry and indoor skydiving sunday, he is so happy with his gifts!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 09/03/2012 20:06

Glad you had a good day memph! Happy birthday to MrMemph Wink

Cake E had hand, foot and mouth which the fucking idiot of a midwife had never heard of when I was pregnant with W. In my experience, cp spots come pretty thick and fast and cover the body within 24 hours of first breaking out, so if she hasn't got them anywhere else I'd say there's every chance it is HF&M.

If it's any consolation, and it is that, E was over the worst in a couple of days.

Good news on the results trudy. Sorry you are having a hard time with dp at the moment.

Chulita · 09/03/2012 21:21

trudy glad it wasn't anything worse but hope you can take it easy and stop the bleeding, sounds awful and it's no wonder you're both feeling the pressure.

memphis Grin at L being scared of the giraffe, don't blame him though, they've got huuuuuge tongues!

cake fingers crossed it's all over quickly round yours.

I got a phone appt in the end and they prescribed some more inhalers cos the 2 GPs I spoke to reckoned the length of time I'd been ill had inflamed my asthma. I agree their system is rubbish, they do have an emergency doctor but I never feel like any of my stuff is urgent so maybe I didn't push it enough. Anyhoo, they said the steroidal inhaler should kick in within 5 days...I have 3 so hope it's quicker than that!

Off to bed now cos am knackered, haven't been on all day cos L's had a temperature of 40-41 all day so I've been on snuggle-duty and not pottering around online.

kkfairybrains · 09/03/2012 22:42

Fingers firmly crossed that sorts you out chul! Poor L hope she picks up over the weekend.
Cake all I've done in the past is sales and they always seem to work. Don't really want to go down the root of Brazilian blow dries or extensions because they take up such a big bulk of your day and there's only me here. It would be the type of thing I'd be interested In if I had someone working with me. Don't get me wrong I have enough to keep me going- just about - but realistically I need to be busier. Then again it's the first 2 weeks I've been this quiet so maybe I need to stop over thinking it. Busy again tomorrow so I'll focus on that for now.
Trudy sorry things are tough there. Tiredness takes its toll on people and people can say horrible things without meaning them but still not nice to be on the receiving end of it Sad. No advise on the bleeding but so glad it's the right result. That reminds me my repeat smear is due now.

viksam · 10/03/2012 04:56

Gosh lots to read, great its really taken my mind of both night feeds!
Tsc hows things there?
cake my friend and her DS has hf&m and they were quite poorly with it, Dr didn't give them anything for it though as its a virus.
chu I really hope things get a little easier now dh is home and I hope u four have a nice few days before baby comes, hows L finger crossed its a very short lived thing.
Memphis poor L and his sore bum, must be awful, glad ur dh had a nice day and he liked his presents.
kk f seems a big better with the gaviscon and is asleep on my shoulder straight after a feed, the last two days he's just cried and cried after feeding. We have elevated his moses and he seems happier on his side. Hope buisness picks up soon.
dh where are u?
Trudy sounds like things are tough for u still, the bleeding sounds horrid and u do need to at least not pick m up if u can help it. Ur dh is probably feeling helpless and worried but still its not a nice thing to say. Its hard when u keep falling out but its probably just a phase ur having to go through. Its a huge adjustment going from one to two and then everything else u guys have had to deal with its possible the most difficult time u will have for a long time, I do feel for u all.
mylife I'd choose the sofa if I'm honest due to paper this walls and d's chatting, which incidentally I can hear now on the monitor, ace! I have to go back to bed to listen to that! Tut!
What's everyone doing the weekend?

Chulita · 10/03/2012 06:47

viks I'm really dreading the next few months, S just can't seem to sleep beyond about 5.45 at the latest, usually more like around 5.00. We have to get him so he doesn't wake L up. I can see me in a couple of weeks once DH is back at work doing 4-6 night feeds and then being up all day from 5am :( Nothing we've tried gets him to sleep later.

L's still got a high fever, DH and I were up at 5.30 with S cos he'd wittered so much we were both awake. Hopefully with a bit of Calpol and lots of sleep L will get over this before Monday!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 10/03/2012 08:38

Vik, why do you have a monitor for the kids if the walls are paper thin anyway? I have never had a monitor in the bedroom for either of mine, only a monitor for when they were in bed and we were downstairs. Which, come to think of it I only used first time round and didnt bother at all second time round.

Poor L. And poor you chul. Would you consider putting them in separate rooms again for a while? Just until they get a bit better?

Another night on the couch here. Ah well. DS2 up at 6am and have dozed in bed until 7.50am as dh brought him down but everytime the boys argued (which is A Lot) they woke me.

CakeandRoses · 10/03/2012 09:06

Poor L chul she sound so rough Sad

reflux is horrid vik sorry i missed when you first said it. are you keeping him raised/upright all the time? and does he have a dummy?

shit here too - A still unhappy and wanting bf all night rather than sleep.

awaiting call back from docs as she still only has spotty mouth and hands. mlic did E have it on his palms? anywhere else? she only has it on the tops of her hands whereas the online stuff always says palms.

kkfairybrains · 10/03/2012 09:32

Aw poor A cakes Sad. E had pox in her mouth but she also had them all over the rest of her body. The poor thing. Is there treatment for HF&M or is it the same as CP?

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 10/03/2012 10:01

I can't really remember cake. It was mainly in his mouth and iirc he had none/next to none on his feet. So yes, I reckon it sounds v much like hf&m. She'd have spots all over by now if it were cp. It's a pretty contagious virus but then so is cp alledgedly and we've avoided it so keep an eye on F developing it too.

I bought a new cheap as chips coral top from matalan yesterday and have it on today - am feeling very 'spring is sprung' like today now Grin

CakeandRoses · 10/03/2012 11:18

cheers mlic spoke to another doc and they agree it sounds more like H, F & M now. she's now got a few small ones on her feet but again only on top.

the good news is we don't need to quarantine for this

Trudyla · 10/03/2012 12:11

Thanks guys.

chul Man that sounds rough around yours. M had a virus and high fever when I went into labour with F. The good thing about that was that it was out of her system by the time we got home. Hopefully all the sickness and bugs will have cleared off when you come home with your yummy newborn. (I was so sure that I was done, but thinking about your tiny, tiny baby is actually making me quite broody). I've never really felt broody before. With M it was more DP's call than mine and with F it was because I've always wanted children close together. Hmm Nevermind, it's not gonna happen anytime soon
I hope things will pick up quickly for all of you. I second the put the children in different rooms again suggestion. Anything to get you through this with as much sleep as possible.

cake Poor A. Doesn't bf hurt her then? I would have thought that's more painful cos of the effort than eating a yoghurt or ice cream? Hope she's not in too much pain.

memph That sounds like a fun packed weekend. You all deserve it. Have fun. I'm only a little bit Envy Grin

mlic Why did you sleep on the couch? Because of snoring? I used to use earplugs, pre F, cos DP snores. Might start that again when he's a bit older. I can still hear M through them, so not a worry. I could hear F too but am still a bit worried cos he's so tiny.

woodlands Anymore explosive poos from J? F normally goes once a day these days but hasn't been since Wednesday. Me and DP are getting a bit nervous and try and hand him to each other after a feed Grin It's gonna be maffis, a poonami.

kk I hope things will get busier for you. It is a very depressing time of year though, isn't it. Everybody has spent their Xmas money but it isn't really time for a spring spruce up yet. I'm sure things will pick up soon.

viks How are things? Is D still up all night? M has just started to take ages to go down, then get up really, really early in the morning. It seems she goes through phases of just needing less sleep. Weird.

Me and DP are speaking again, but things seem a bit weird between us. You're probably right, it has been one of the most stressful times of our lives lately so no wonder it's a bit hard at the moment.

The bleeding seems to be not as heavy anymore, so I didn't go to hospital yet. I really hope that the worst is over now and I can just move on and forget about this horrible episode.

Not got any plans for the weekend as I shouldn't really move much, but we'll problaly manage to go to a caf. Weather is miserable so being outside is not really an option.

What are you all up to?

Chulita · 10/03/2012 14:19

Funnily enough I suggested to DH that we separate the dc again just for a bit but my mum will be in the guest room for a while so it wouldn't really work. She could sleep in the living room but then she feels obliged to tidy everything away first thing in the morning so it'll be easier for her to have a room she can shut the door on.

I wanted a nap at lunch but S took forever to settle and I feel like it's a bit late now. Grr!

memphis83 · 10/03/2012 16:28

Yesterday was clearly a one off, we have done nothing but argue today, he has smashed up a laptop Shock I feel so guilty I want to walk but I cant do it to L or my poor mum :( cant stop crying, such a shame L is being a joy again now his tooth is through, sorry for me me me, I just needed to get this out as I cant stop crying and have no one I can talk or go to.

Chulita · 10/03/2012 16:54

memphis sorry things are so rough with you, I just logged on to say I thought of you as I loaded the washing machine with teeny tiny bumgenius nappies ready for Tuesday. Is it stress from his long hours? or just lots of things? Thinking of you, really really hope things get better. Sorry I've got nothing helpful to say at all.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 10/03/2012 17:38

Oh memph :(

Sorry things are so shit

No advice really as we don't know what's gone on/what is going on, but you know we're always around to talk to.

memphis83 · 10/03/2012 17:52

cheers mlic im sure it will be fine, just had a stressful week and its got to me now
