No snow here sadly. It is freezing though!

bb3 Yes yes to sock ons- you can get them online in lovely bright colours rather than just pink or blue.

Our conception story isn't very exciting- we were trying for 3 months and had just got to the 'we must have sex constantly because we're worried its not working' stage and it obviously did the trick. I knew I was pregnant from 5dpo (yes, I thought it was impossible too) as I had to leave a friends early as I felt so sick. Got a positive a week before my period was due, when my parents were coming for lunch in 3 hours. We were going to wait to tell people, but DH was so excited he blurted it out the minute they got through the door. I would have been obvious anyway, I spent the next 8 weeks throwing up. :-)

Eleanor is in her buggy, has been for weeks. It does lie totally flat, but usually we have it a bit reclined. She loves to look around and see everything, so hasn't let me put her in the carrycot since she was about 12 weeks, she'd just scream and flail until she could see again. We still use a sling most of the time though, I've made a mei tai as she was getting a bit heavy for my ring sling- it's no trouble to carry her all day now if i need to.

supergirl1 · 03/02/2012 18:12

is it just a normal buggy sow? and she seems comfy?

BB3 · 03/02/2012 19:14

Oh ed poor c, ds did that in our old house and I immediately took the spring things out the door so it wouldn't happen again and just closed like a heavy normal door (when I say I took them out, but by I, I mean dh!).

Is c ok?

Yeah I've seen sock ons just haven't got round to getting them yet! Adds to to do list!

The twins are hard but it's getting easier as they get older. I'm very thankful I've got them. When we go for dc number 4, I'll be worried it will end up in 4&5 but I think the chances are slim! Not that it would stop me! It's amazing how I've changed my tune, after the twins came I was adamant that was it but I know it's not now (fingers crossed). Although we are definitely not having the 6 dh wants!!!!

BB3 · 03/02/2012 19:15

Oh and send the snow to me so I can get away with not going to work Monday Grin

FuzzzyDuck · 03/02/2012 19:59

I would love a big family. It's only me and my brother and a 5 year age gap between us. All my cousins live down south or over the atlantic so never had that 'big family' feel when younger. We did get on great though when we were young, but as we got older, the age gap became far more apparent.

Right time to get my little lady to bed so I can enjoy my dinner and lots of catch up tv Grin

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 03/02/2012 21:29

Yes he's fine BB3 I said to DH to take the chains out and he doesn't want to invade the house goes on fire Confused
If he hasn't done it by Monday I'll work it out and do it myself!

MrsHende · 04/02/2012 07:54

Morning girls! How are we all this morning?

We had a night of ferocious feeding, followed by dramatically bring sick over me and the bed, then explosive nappies! I'm shattered from the clean-up jobs! And DH snoozed happily through the lot!

We're going out for a girls' lunch today and to a Jack and Jill Market tomorrow where they sell nearly new baby things. (fuzzy and ed, it's in Bellahouston leisure centre from 10.30-1.30, have you been to one before? I hear they're great for a bargain.)

So, what are everyone's plans for the weekend?

strawberrypenguin · 04/02/2012 08:04

Ed glad to hear C is OK.
MrsHende that sounds like a tough night, we had the opposite here W slept through for the first time! He really does seem to like his cot a lot more than the Moses basket we noticed an improvement in his sleeping straight away.
So jealous of all the snow we don't have any here.

supergirl1 · 04/02/2012 08:09

morning mrs hende. ferocious feeder here also. that + sick husband + light sleeping ds1 who wanted to get up at 5 = one very tired mummy! having lunch with a friend today. hope you get lots of bargains!

fd, i have the same 5 year age gap with my little brother and find it the opposite - have got closer as weve got older. suppose all families are different.

i want another three! realistically maybe one. never thought i would be saying that either but seem to have fallen utterly head over heels in lovr with babies since e was born! it all seems so much easier second time round. dh will need convincing. though am a bit worried he may not have a choice... been feeling a bit sick over last week. too scared to take a pg test. as much as i love babies i could not dealwith a 1yo and a newborn!

BB3 · 04/02/2012 08:36

Ooooh super please poas!! It's so wrong that I'm sat here with twin babies a little bit Envy that someone might be pg again! I'm not telling dh, he'll fly back home so we can start the process and a much as I want another, not yet!!!

Ed as long as you close the doors yourself when in bed etc they should work just the same in a fire just without the automatic closing!

Edie has an upset tummy, all the kids jaw colds and our tenants called last night to say the heating in the house is broken! So I've got a day of sorting out bums, bogeys and boilers!!! AngryGrin

LittlePebble · 04/02/2012 08:57

strawberry yay for W sleeping through!
MrsH tough night here too E doesn't like his travel cot and has bad wind so wouldn't settle.
BB3 Does your DH want lots more children? Lol at bums and boilers.
Super ooh yes please poas! Grin
We're off to wedding in London today hoping Elijah will behave.... Have a good day everyone.
Mrsh/ Edward/ fuzzy is it really snowy up there?

OP posts:
Engelsmeisje · 04/02/2012 09:04

The sun is shining here in Dutchland. It's stopped snowing but it's still well below freezing outside so I'll be staying indoors today. Up further north it was minus 21 last night!

fuzzzy my brother is only 15 months older than me and we're not close at all, though we used to be when I was younger. But then I'm one of 4 and I'm closer to one of my sisters than the other. I wonder if it was just me and my bro if we'd be closer.

BB3 · 04/02/2012 09:10

Lp - he wants 6!!!!

I'm one of three sisters all two years apart but older two only one year apart at school so they were close growing up but not me really, now we are all really really close x

MrsHende · 04/02/2012 09:28

Not a single flake here lp! Have a lovely time at the wedding.

Well done W for sleeping through! Hope you were able to sleep too super? Go on - poas!!

SIX??? BB3, you're made of sterner stuff than me Grin!

Does anyone else struggle to get back to sleep after doing a night feed? I seem to tune into every noise - including next door's baby or downstairs' baby! (3 babies born in 8 weeks in our close! There is a battle for pram space in the hall!) Any tips for getting back to sleep?

Scheherezade · 04/02/2012 09:42

Only child to a single parent here, so I definitely want more than one!

So cold outside, I'm off to warm up by mucking out a load of stables Grin need to find my gloves though....

BB3 · 04/02/2012 09:53

Mrsh - he wants six, unless next time I fall pg with triplets he won't be having 6. I physically only have one more pg in me i think as the twins took it out of me quite a lot!

I have trouble falling asleep, I become a bit obsessed with watching their breathing and noises! No tips here sorry, do you get out of bed to feed or feed in bed?

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 04/02/2012 10:28

Thanks mrsH there's a similar sale in strathclyde park I think near end of feb? I'd love to go to them but I know I don't need anything for either of the kids so I'd end up just buying lots of clutter I don't need spending money I don't have Grin
no snow here either though I think it's forecast today and tomorrow.

MrsHende · 04/02/2012 10:59

I feed her sitting up in bed, she falls asleep and I pop her back into the crib. Like you, I tune into her breathing and then can't drop off myself!

FuzzzyDuck · 04/02/2012 14:39

mrsh poor you (and dd!) for the bad night Sad. I'm like you, I lay listening to her breathing, then struggle to sleep myself! I can't go to bed early anymore, lucky if im sleeping before 1am every night!!

Still no snow here either. I'm the west end of Glasgow, but it's not half as cold as it is down south. My car was saying 3 degrees. It's kinda sleet/rain just now

We are off to Dublin next weekend for my friends hen weekend!! Only 3 of us going, we have another hen night planned for middle of march for everyone, but this is just a weekend she wanted us 'best friends' to have. We are minus 1 friend though, she is due her baby in few weeks so didn't think it was a good idea to be out country!! The bride has no idea where we are going Grin. She will find out on sat morning at the airport!! I can't wait!! So tonight, me and other bridesmaid are getting everything sorted. Bride wants us to go out 'fancy dress tacky' on the Saturday so we have planned neon! Planning to make t shirts tonight and hope that all the tacky stuff ordered from eBay comes early next week. if anyone has any suggestions for hen night shenanigans, please throw them my way! My sil hen night was a week before I had S and other friend who got married may last year had hers end of march when I was still early preg and had morning noon and fecking night sickness so really wasnt up for a whole lot!! Just really worried how much I'm gonna miss my baby Sad. I'll be away from 5am sat morning and not getting home till last thing Monday night. I know she will be fine at my mums, but I think it's gonna be hard Sad. Will just need to drink plenty to try forget Grin

FuzzzyDuck · 04/02/2012 14:40

and perhaps pull a hot Irish man GrinWink

PenguinArmy · 04/02/2012 15:58

BB3 will be back full time or is this a keeping in touch day?

This was when I went back with DD, well I say back it was a brand new job in a different country.

Scheherezade · 04/02/2012 16:08

Ooh that sounds fun fuzzy!

I was 5hrs at stables, so just pumping off now as I'm pretty full up! I don't want to completely empty though as I'll need to feed in a couple of hrs, so if I just do 3oz from each side?

TallyBear · 04/02/2012 16:15

MrsH, sorry for your bad night. Ours wasn't great either if that's any consolation. As it was Friday it was dh's 'shift'. Seb woke at 1.30 for a feed (unusual) and then was sick all over himself, dh, the spare) bed, carpet etc. Dh had to change his underwear and was not happy! I heard him stompinh around and went into help and ended up finishing the feed... Plus Seb did an explosive poo at bout 6pm and i forgot to rinse out his clothes last night...

Fuzzzy Have fun in Dublin - went there years ago and loved it. At one hen do we wrote a load of dares for the hen and went with a bag of wrapped cheap/tacky/funny goodies (novelty undies, rude chocs, bubbles etc) and she got to pick a present everytime she completed a dare - things like kiss a policeman, swap hats with guy, find out the colour of 5 guys kegs etc. I'll be thinking of you with all the hot 'oirish' guys! And as my friends mum used to say "if you can't be good be careful"!

BB3 6, wow... and i hope you get the bums, bogeys and boilers sorted..

Super any poas news?

It's coooold here and we have snow. It's finally settling. Showed Seb out the window but he wasn't bothered. Dh wants to take him out so he can feel it but it's too cold.

MamaMaiasaura · 04/02/2012 16:29

What age is this sleep regression ? J had another wakeful one last night. I don't remember how many times after 3.30am.

Dh off now till half term week starts. Off to centre parks on Monday. Been packing but so much stuff to take!
