MamaMaiasaura · 02/02/2012 22:41

^ed* have you got a pumpkin patch near you still open? They are on sale and lovely fit, Aldo online. Think they were from 1.99 to 3.99 for 2 pairs. Next do them too

MamaMaiasaura · 02/02/2012 22:43

Ed it might be she is getting more out each feed and then able to go longer. J been a pickle and only just dropped off to sleep again. She woke shorty after my last post. I'm cream crackered and in bed now

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 02/02/2012 22:56

Thanks mama had a look on pumpkin patch but the ones I like have lace or organza frills and they're a bit bigger and quite 90s but I like them, I also like the to have a ribbon/bow/flower on with colour to match whichever dress

Re feeding my main concern was that she would only suck for 2-3 minutes then would come off and refuse to go back on but I suppose if she is taking more maybe I'm not letting her get hungry enough?

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 02/02/2012 22:58

like these

BB3 · 02/02/2012 23:24

Ed is she still bunged up? I'd see how she is tomorrow and if she's not eating give your hv a call, that's what they are there for.

Thank you - he is gorgeous (takes after his daddy in the looks department) but he knows it! He has the cuteness, I'm going to wrap you round my little finger, face down to a tea!!! Grin.

We buy socks from tesco or sainsbury's as they fall off so many times we lose them at lest once a day!

Scheh Confused Angry Envy at ss treatment, at 21 I was driving a rover metro!!!! It was like a go cart on wheels x

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 02/02/2012 23:32

I'm also Envy of the range rover as a birthday gift! For my 21st my dad didn't even get me a card Shock and I don't remember what my mum got me Confused it wasn't a memorable
Birthday though TBH and I did give the whole family 6 months notice for a reasonably big wedding that year oh well.

She doesnt seem too bunged up today though she did last night, I've still been using saline spray anyway, and she doesn't seem upset/grumpy
Etc she's still quite happy to sit up and plan worl domination watch everything

FuzzzyDuck · 02/02/2012 23:59

Grin go cart on wheels!!! That's crazy though Shock. I can't complain, I had a lovely 21st not quite to that extent though

LittlePebble · 03/02/2012 05:23

Scheh Shock at range rover for 21st!!
Edward has Mhairi been feeding any better? If you're worried I'd take her to hv / GP as they say it's better to check with babies as they can change so quickly.
BB3 love the pics DS is gorgeous and I'm also Envy of the twins I've always wanted twins. How are you getting on without DH? (1 day nearer to him being back!)
mama hope you get some sleep.
Eli has just slept 8hrs Grin x

She took a good feed at bedtime last night and 2 during the night so I think she's ok. I'll leave her till she actually moans/crys for a feed today rather than when I think she should be hungry.

Got the fright of my life this morning DS jammed his fingers in bedroom door, I didn't see it happen but he was literally screaming and shaking historically I thought he was having a fit Shock
We are in a new build house and apparently building regs now state that ALL interior doors should be fire doors which are really heavy and swing shut pretty fast. Think I'll need to replace them lucky DS didn't break his fingers

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 03/02/2012 07:53

I'm another who's Envy of the twins i've always wanted twins too although I'm not sure I could cope with the work that comes with them Wink

FuzzzyDuck · 03/02/2012 09:09

ed that sounds sore!! Poor wee C Sad. My living room door is like that, iv got it wedged open, hate that it can swing shut so easily!!

Well sleep here seems to be back on track. Past few nights, she has been down at 8/8.30 and awake at 7.45/8ish. Iv gave her dummy and put mobile on and she has been happy to lay for another 30/45 mins. Im not ready to function in the morning till at least 8.30am Blush. Thank goodness she is co operating!!

Don't know what our plans are for today.. Very cold here so I'm guessing not much!!

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 03/02/2012 09:46

I'm doing housework and picking up ironing exciting Grin think I may try and offload DS to mil to give me some time to get it done lol

LittlePebble · 03/02/2012 09:48

Oh Ed hope DS is ok?

Ok I need advice please we're going to London for a wedding this weekend (first big trip!)
Firstly do I take the carrycot attachment for buggy (E is getting big for it and recently keeps trying to sit up while in it so not sure he'd be happy) or the buggy bit with cosy toes (It says from 6 months but he's so big...?)
Also can you just put whole buggy in black cab or should I take car seat?
Argh this is before I've even started on what to pack....what do I need for 2 nights?

Just catching up. Loved reading all the conception stories.
DD & Seth were both conceived in the first month, of "practicing." It's supposed to take 12 months on average, but it's couples like us that skew the figures.
With Seth I realised when I was at work. I'd gone into a clients room in the morning, and the smell had made me feel sick, then I took another client out for the afternoon. The client is non-verbal and doesn't like people in his space, so I had a lot of thinking time. I was feeling dreadful, sore boobs, stomach cramps wishing my period would hurry up and start, then realised it was 6 weeks since the last one.
Before finishing the shift my friend started talking about babies again, she knew we were going to start trying in the new year. Apparently I went very red and she guessed. I phoned DH and told him my suspicions and bought a test and a bottle of wine on the way home. The lady serving me grinned and I said "One is to see if I can have the other."
I had a glass anyway :)

With DD I was again in work when I realised, again sore boobs, stomach cramps, lots of thinking time and google. I went through the rota looking at when I'd last been swimming as that was my last period, and it was 6 weeks.
DD was probably conceived on the morning of DH's 30th.

Oddly, with DD I realised the day before I was going to my parents as it was my Dad's birthday. With Seth I was going there the next day as it was my Mum's birthday.

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 03/02/2012 09:57

You can take whole buggy in black cab so wouldn't need car seat, if you think he'd be sleepig a lot in it I'd take carryot, if your finding he gets bored in it now you can get a toy for ELC that turns carry cot into sort of baby gym
buggy arch
and to keep packing as light as possible I'd buy nappies etc when u get there just take enough for the journey

Fleecy · 03/02/2012 09:59

Gah! DS is ill again with a cough, cold and high temp so I have kept him home from playschool. It's only been 2wks since his tummy bug. Is making it hard to get work done too. We're supposed to be seeing elderly relatives tomorrow and giving them a meal too but I can't see how Sad

How awful about your DS's fingers. Scary stuff indeed! Poor soul.

I am in awe of any mother of twins. I had wanted twins first time round but struggled so much with DD1 that I was glad I hadn't got two of her!

ed L has suddenly sped up her feeds to the extent that I cant believe she's full. She'll come off and I'll be able to get her back on but after a few sucks she comes off again. I try again and the same thing happens so I leave it. Yet she still goes around 3hrs between feeds and does lots of wees so I guess she's fine.

How's it going with you jnice?

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 03/02/2012 10:00

I'd just take 3 lots of clothes & pjs, are u FFing?

bilblio · 03/02/2012 10:15

Ed Poor DS! I hate those doors. We've had to put them in at work, which means half the clients can't get around the house as they're too heavy to open, so they're wedged open all the time rendering them useless as fire doors. Stupid regulations.

BB3 Gorgeous pictures. I'm also envious of twins, but totally in awe too, I'm not sure I'd cope. I have a friend with twin girls DD's age. She says they're great, but hard work as it's like a continuous party with their best friend round to play. Another friend has 12 year old triplets which is great now they're oolder and can gook, make her brews etc :)

Pebble The whole buggy with go in a black cab. I'd take the carrycot because it will lie totally flat for him to sleep in, although I know what you mean, Seth has about 4" of space left in his. We need to get the cot out, he keeps waking because he's slipped down and can't stretch out.... or try him sleeping in the buggy bit when you're at home and see what he's like.
For 2 nights, I take double of everything when I go to my parents, becasue you can be sure when you've no way to wash things they'll have multiple exploding poos! :o

Right really must get dressed and take DD some lunch to school. DH only remembered he'd not made it as they were about to leave the house. They have inspectors in at the moment because so many children are late in the morning. We're only across the road, but we're guilty of it too. Blush In our defence the teachers don't open the doors on time and I'm not standing in the cold with Seth.

TallyBear · 03/02/2012 10:35

Hmm, baby toys and cat toys appear to be interchangeable!! Might need to sterilise Seb's mini-maraccas after the has just cat discovered them!

LittlePebble · 03/02/2012 11:00

Thanks guys, think carrycot and baby bjorn so if he gets bored in ceremony we can plonk him in that.
Fleecy hope DS gets better
ed no ebf so don't have to worry about sterilising etc thank goodness.
Bilblio Grin at a month both times.

I second what bilblio said pebble. At Christmas we ended up staying over at my parents unexpectedly on Christmas day and even though I had 2 sets of clean clothes in the changing bag, M decided to do 2 exploding poos so ended up romperless (with me praying that he didn't do it again!).

Minus 12 here this morning, think it's settled down at minus 10. I'm staying indoors this afternoon! Going out tonight for only the 2nd time since M was born so DH is on duty.

Grin tally

Re: twins, DH has 2 colleagues who both thought (with 2 or 3 DCs already) "Oh, we'll have one more" and both of them ended up with a set of twins, so 4 and 5 DCs! (why DH would be quite happy to stop at one I think Grin ). I'm one of 4 so I would LOVE a full household!

Scheherezade · 03/02/2012 11:26

My mum is a twin, so me and DP were a little worried! Turns out non-id twins is just luck, not genetic at all, so we were.safe!

Sink is soaking in bleach (this is where I find out you're not supposed to bleach porcelain)

supergirl1 · 03/02/2012 11:59

bb3 - sock ons is the answer to no more lost socks! get them from mothercare in pink or blue. they fit over socks and keep them on. best buy ever!
lp- i have the same problem with buggy. e is almost too big for his car seat ( which fits on for his buggy) but he is too small for the proper buggy. no idea what to do. we were at baby rhyme time yesterday and he is the same size as the 6 month olds.

love all the conception stories. weve had both ends of the spectrum. ds1 was very much unplanned. i wad 20, just about to do final year at uni and had only been with now dh for a few months. was crazy at time but obv wouldnt change it for the world.

waited for 5 yrs to try again and still hadnt conceived after a year. had ov tests done which said i wasnt ovulating which was a big shock at 26. doc was abou to refer us for clomid when i had last ov test, which again showed i hadnt ovulated. anyway, on the day of ds1s 6th birthday party i did a preg test just for the hell of it (which is weird as i had totally stopped doing them due to all the horrible disappointment) and it was positive! 2 days before i was even due period. so dont believe ovulation tests as im pretty sure i did ovulate :-)

i ended up on here as i had bleeding that night and was convinced that i was losing him:-( was frantically googling and came across this. i wonder what happened to everyone from back then. was it arabella who started it? did she drop off or change her name?

bilblio · 03/02/2012 12:05

My digital thermometre outside is reading 17 degrees! Hmm The car is still frozen, it was saying -7 this morning. I'm guessing the sun is shining on the thermometre. :o

I'm currently wearing leggings, tracksuit bottom, hiking socks a vest and a long sleeved t-shirt, but I've taken my jumper off. Seth has a long-sleeved vest, babygro and he's staying in is grobag. I did have the fire on earlier but I'm a bit wary as I've got headache now. Think I may have to get it serviced, for peace of mind if nothing else.

DH has been instructed to make stew for tea so the oven can be on all day. :)

Totally forgot it's MIL's birthday today. FIL phoned to remind us, which means it was our "started going out" anniversary yesterday. (We were together 14 years before we got married.) We are rubbish... and it's not the first time we've forgotten either... we're really really rubbish!
People either shouldn't have birthdays at the start of a month, or they should remind people constantly a few weeks days before... like I do :o
We were going up there this weekend anyway, but snow may scupper that plan.

Engelsmeisje · 03/02/2012 13:44

The snow is really coming down here - Can't wait until M is big enough to enjoy it!
