Grrr damn Flylady need to change my email settings didnt check emails yesterday so got 50 Shock all at once all from Flylady!! (and I've still not started babysteps)

Scheherezade · 01/02/2012 07:44

ed I'd ring HV and give a bit of water.

C just slept for.... twelve hours! With a dream feed at 11. We finally put batteries in the slumber bear, so when he stirred in the night it kicked in and settled him off.

BB3 · 01/02/2012 07:53

Ok am I missing a trick with this slumber bear thing? what is is and how does it work and if it leads to 12 hours of sleep, where, oh where, do I get one?

MamaMaiasaura · 01/02/2012 07:55

Ed ds2 used only poo every 4-6 days when baby at this age (hv wrote in his book about it). When he did go it was a good amount and soft. Hv said not to worry and babies who are bfed can poo less frequently as absorbing all the milk goodies. When ds2 did need to go he'd be really grumbley for day then produce full nappy. We never gave him water as Breastmilk is better and has alot water in it. I remember being worried but it really was fine.

Can't stop thinking of little Bea and Cup. Was hoping to see happy update this morning.

MamaMaiasaura · 01/02/2012 07:56

ed meant to say yay and clever boy for Christopher Smile

BB3 · 01/02/2012 07:57

Ed - yes ring HV, i can't remember what age they can have gripe water from but yes they do get constipated

LP Shock, I agree re perception of FF vs BF. I'm not really sure what difference it makes and surely they are either ok with the weight or not (not that it sounds like it's a problem anyway as he's clearly just a big strong lad).

MamaMaiasaura · 01/02/2012 07:58

scheh fantastic. 12 hours sleep. Smile

Ds2 coughing lots last night, and J keep stirring from it (also stayed up too late checking for updates on Bea)

Jnice · 01/02/2012 08:03

ed are you starting baby steps today? I will be. I unsubscribed from the email lists and just liked her on FB and am following the thread here.

MamaMaiasaura · 01/02/2012 08:03

Got my red book out for ds2 - was on 6/3/08 (he was born 27/12 so about 10 ish weeks but he stayed this was till on solids). "steady et, gain N/F going well. PU (ticked) BO every four says, not hard. No concerns"

I'd speak to hv at well baby clinic but just wanted to reassure you. Smile

MamaMaiasaura · 01/02/2012 08:03

Not et but wt

Jnice · 01/02/2012 08:06

Yes, what is a slumber bear! Must have one!

It's midnight and L just went down - been an absolutely shit day (sorry). Found out my appointment with reproductive mental health will be march 15th and that along with the stress of sick kids has just finished me off. I'm an empty shell tonight Sad

Scheherezade · 01/02/2012 08:20

Sorry to hear that Jnice, look after yourself xxx

I've been harping on about slumber bear to anyone who'll listen, £20 on amazon, it has a recording of inside the womb (plus other sounds) and is motion & sound activated. We take the sound box out and hang it from the side of his cot.

supergirl1 · 01/02/2012 08:37

hi all.
have had a rubbish few nights here, e has been getting up every 2 hours for long feeds°:-( he is one of the youngest on here i think, a halloween baby so cant even blame a four month regression. maybe a three month one? if it is im not looking forward to the 4 month one:O. he was better last night though, and on the plus side has been down for 8 each night. we found a recording of white noise which puts him off to sleep a treat- although i do seem to have to leave it on for most of the night- bit worried about that!
re bottle feeding- i give e a bottle before he goes to bed and now totally confused by the advice! we were told(and its in the ready steady baby book and on the side of the tin) to make each feed fresh with just boiled water and to cool rapidly. i always made in advance for ds1 but apparently bacteria can still grow in the fridge? maybe advice is different in scotland?
pebble, e is a very big baby too, he is on 91st for weight and 98th for height. is eli long as well? my ds1 was 98th for weight, woukd imagine he still is close to that, but he is reaalllly tall and solid, and actually looks quite skinny. i really wouldnt worry. stupid health visitors. dont they know us new mums will worry about anything anyway? dont need them giving ud new fears!

MamaMaiasaura · 01/02/2012 08:37

Sad jnice that's a very long wait, I'm sorry. I hope you get a good night sleep. (hug)

LittlePebble · 01/02/2012 08:38

Oh Jnice hope you get some sleep now and feel better in the morning xx

LittlePebble · 01/02/2012 08:41

super yes he's long as well he's 15 weeks and already out of most of his 3-6 month clothes he's wearing 6-9 month stuff now and have had to buy new grobag as his legs couldn't stretch out in 0-6 ones. He's costing me a fortune lol!

OP posts:
sassy34264 · 01/02/2012 09:13

pebble 6-9 months! wow he is gonna be tall. isobel is 17months and can still fit in 6-9 months vests and sleepsuits. she is a tiny little pixie though! her main clothes are 9-12 months though. i think eva will catch her up soon.
cant bring myself to read cup's thread. its just too heartbreaking and i cry at everything these days. we are all on a knive edge at the minute anyway as it is sil's scan tomorrow to see if the cancer treatment has worked. although, we wont find out for 2 weeks.
its torture for us, so god knows what it is like for her. Sad

managed to bf eva for last week but needed a formula top up again last night. she still woke up twice for a bf as usual. sleeping soundly now.

well done christopher ihave zero recollection of potty training dd1 Blush i remember dropping my phone into the potty and it had wee in it! but nothing else. maybe it was so traumatic, ive blocked it! Grin

FuzzzyDuck · 01/02/2012 09:40

lp 6-9 months!! Grin that's funny lol. S is 17 1/2 wks and still in a few 0-3 things. Had to put her into 3-6 sleep suits the other week as her feet were curled up in the 0-3 ones, but these bigger sleep suit are huge!! Arms are rolled away up ha! Might pop down to have her weighed this afternoon if I can be bothered. It's freezing outside, but lovely and sunny. Maybe some fresh air will do us good Smile

jnice hugs for you Smile

sassy hope your sil gets the good news

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 01/02/2012 10:11

M has really long legs so sleepsuits in any size have never fitted her properly, she is starting to get too long for some 3-6 sleepsuits but sleeves are still rolled up. She is still in a few 0-3 dresses (just a bit shorter than their meant to be Grin

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 01/02/2012 10:15

Think DS and I have the same personality (m takes after her dads nature) C was asking this morning where we are going today when I said nowhere he went through a v long list of suggestions. We've only stayed in for 1 day lol

I gave in with the damn ironing and sent it out yesterday. I figure based on my hourly rate at work it's a lot cheaper to send it out than use my own time Wink £15 for 40 items is a bargain anyway Grin

BB3 · 01/02/2012 10:16

Fuzzy we are the same girls have just moved to 3-6 and it swamps them - they were 13'8 and 13'3 last Tuesday!

Lp - wow he's definitely going to be a long'un. But just think if all those lovely protective hugs you'll get from your teenager Grin

Jnice - Sad hope you're ok, is there no chance of your hv/gp pushing for it to be moved forward a bit? Sending virtual chocolate from the stash!

Sassy, yay for bf!

So I put girls on their fronts this morning - Ayse is up on her toes, bum in air pushing forward! She won't roll but the minx is trying to commando crawl already! Edie still just lays laughing at you like she is mocking me!!! Grin

supergirl1 · 01/02/2012 12:12

yes, another long one here! out of some 3-6 months stuff and i put a pair of 6-9months dungarees on him today and i give him a week or so in those. having said that the difference between clothes is ridiculous. i thought womens clothes were bad but i think baby's are worse. he has a 0-3 month sleepsuit from markies which still fits and a 6-9 month snowsuit from tesco which i cant squeeze him into. and tesco are usually bigger. dont get me started on primark!

Fleecy · 01/02/2012 12:34

jnice that's a long time. Sorry you're feeling so low but you know you can always spill on here.

Cup has just updated the thread and Bea is still fighting. What a girl!

supergirl we had a 12wk growth spurt but L will be 4mo tomorrow and nothing yet. Am keeping my fingers crossed but may be back with bad news in a few days time Grin

MamaMaiasaura · 01/02/2012 12:37

Update on Bea's thread Smile she's one brave little baby with an amazing family
