Our third thread!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

ed believe it or not, it's within normal for a bf baby to go every once every 7 days with occasional 10-14 days happening as well. Whether shes constipated depends on whether she looks like she's struggling. It will most likely smell far worse and be more explosive than normal Grin

I'm constantly updating cups thread :(

I had one seriously large boob last night, as in so engorged it hurt to walk. Still not too sure how it happened but thinking a combination of him feeding less as he's ill and a while since he had eaten off that side (he prefers the other side for comfort)

PenguinArmy · 01/02/2012 13:21

pebble don't be ashamed of your LOs weight. They don't sound like very friendly HVs, that centile jump is normal and I hope they wouldn't naturally accuse FFers of overfeeding without checking amounts, feeding technique first and even then do it on a sympathetic way

TallyBear · 01/02/2012 13:25

Jnice You know you can always vent on mn.

Sassy fingers X for your SiL.

Can I add Seb to the long bus? He's 14 weeks tomorrow and he stretches 3-6m sleepsuits. He's only been in them a few weeks. Mind you, I remember saying that about 0-3m ones and he was in them for about another month so maybe he won't be in 6-9 month yet! Bizzarely he's got a couple of vests and a pair of trousers in 0-3 that still fit! Super I've got a 0-3 Tesco snowsuit that is still too big for Seb. Maybe it had the wrong label on it!

Took Seb to sensory room yesterday. Seb really loves it. He's finally getting the hand of grabbing the led strands. He was fascinated by a pringles tube covered in black and white flock wallpaper with dried pasta in it. Excuse to eat pringles??!!!

Ed I say save your money and wear crumpled clothes!! If you hang them up when damp the worst creases drop out anyway [lazy emoticon].

Woke this morning with a stinking cold; feel dreadful. Poor Seb is having to mainly self-entertain today and there will be no housework done. He's had a mild cold since Sun night. He was very unsettled last night but I think that was mainly due to his injections yesterday. He was crying in his sleep Sad. We gave him some Calpol and that seemed to work.

PenguinArmy · 01/02/2012 13:27

Jnice sorry only just read your post :( {{}}

Scheherezade · 01/02/2012 14:27

Wow those are some big babies! C is 18.5 weeks and 3-6 are still long in the leg on him!

He's on great form today :) think the long sleep has done him (and me!) A lot of good.

Fleecy · 01/02/2012 14:27

Oh yes, forgot to say that L only poos about every 3 or 4 days - but oh my, when she goes, she really goes. She usually cries a little that morning then churns out rivers of the stuff in the afternoon. I bicycle her legs and massage her tummy when I realise what's going on.

Jnice · 01/02/2012 14:42

Aww, thanks everyone Smile

Had a good night. L slept until 6am. I think yesterday evening he picked up in my mood and just would not settle. DH tried desperately hard to give me a break but he cried in his arms until I gave in and took him back.

I have access to a PND support line who have been lovely. It's run by mums who have btdt.

I told my mum about it and now she wants to talk about it every day and it's driving me a bit nuts. Is it normal not to want to talk to your mum about this kind of thing? We have a great relationship but I feel like I want to screen calls to avoid talking about it.

Jnice · 01/02/2012 14:46

tallybear get well soon Smile

First feed finished so going to grab a bit more sleep before the boys wake up.

Scheherezade · 01/02/2012 15:09

Hope you manage to get some sleep Jnice, being tired makes.everything seem so much worse.

emmazed · 01/02/2012 15:53

Having a difficult few days, firstly I have an awful cold and I just know I will pass it to J and feel bad for him in advance. I keep washing my hands, but it is impossible sometimes.

Also he has been feeding really badly for the past week or so. He will take the first part of his bottle ok, but will moan and not take the rest after winding. I am not sure if he is full, has reflux or is distracted and now wants to play. His total amount of milk has gone down loads, and he is not so big anyway. Not sure what to do about it.

He is alert, sleeping well, doesn't seem to be unhappy. anyone got advice would be great. He is v windy & sicky - we use infacol and wind him lots/sit him up after eating. He is not in pain lying down though

I also feel crazy for worrying when I gave a beautiful baby who is healthy. Keeping uptodate with cups posts and feel so grateful for everything. I just can't imagine what they are going through.

emmazed · 01/02/2012 15:55

jnice only just seen your post. Hope you have a good rest x

TallyBear · 01/02/2012 15:59

emm Seb's the same recently. Sometimes he finishes his bottle in no time but at least two feeds of the day are a real struggle. He's been slightly down on his feeds but not too much. We tend to try with the rest after about an hour or so and most of the time he finishes it. I think an hv mentioned that they can be fussy to feed when having a growth spurt, although, like J, Seb doesn't seem to want more Confused...

Scheherezade · 01/02/2012 16:00

Emmazed, could it be reflux? Or he could have become intolerant to the formula, I've heard of that happening

emmazed · 01/02/2012 16:56

Thanks for the responses and so sorry for the selfish me post. I thought it was reflux, but he has no probs lying down and today he was really moaning and I thought he must be in pain. But then I put him in his ring to play and he immediately smiled. Maybe I should go see the hv and see if they can offer advice.

FuzzzyDuck · 01/02/2012 17:25

Hi everyone! Well I took S to be weighed this afternoon. Almost 18 wks and 12lbs12oz! Still in the 9th centile but following it steady so no concerns. Have noticed though the past few days she has dropped from 6 to 5 bottles a day. May need to add another oz to each of these, I'm worried she isn't getting enough! Still been waking between 4-6am but iv just brought her into bed with me where we have both dozed till 8.30am

Her little personality is really starting to shine through now. So so chatty, smiles at anyone who looks at her and is trying desperately to move! When in her tummy, she is pulling at everything and the butt is up in the air Grin. It's so funny. Amazing the difference a few weeks can make in her life!!

Re feeding, ive put the newborn size teats back in her bottles. The free flow were just too fast. The bottle was done in minutes!! Much happier now with them.

Hope everyone is good. Keep frantically checking cups thread for news on Beatrice. What a little fighter age is!!

MamaMaiasaura · 01/02/2012 18:31

Good day here. Took j put twice in sling, first for a walk just me and her while ds2 at preschool, live right by forest so lots of birdsong. It was beautiful. Then to park later with ds2, he was a pickle and wasn't listening at all and nearly got knocked out by swing. I think I looked like a shit mother as o couldn't get him to come to me at all and he knew I couldn't chase him with Jeasica in sling. J has been so vocal and sings away. In bath today she was deliberate kicking her toys and she rea he's and grabs them and stuffs her muzzy in her mouth. She's also been straining to sit herself upright in her rocker chair. It's so amazing all these things she's doing. Seems alot faster than with boys but it might just be because we are so busy.

MamaMaiasaura · 01/02/2012 20:24

Great news on Bea x

TallyBear · 01/02/2012 20:52

Crappy day, not only do I feel like crap, Seb's still unsettled from his jabs yesterday and now I've just managed to cut his thumb trying to cut his nails... Dh had a go at me and the poor thing was crying and bleeding everywhere. Sad

PenguinArmy · 01/02/2012 20:57

fuzzy nothing wrong with added an oz as long as you don't try and get her to eat it with effort. DD weighted 12lbs 12 at her 6 month check if that helps.

DS was a lot better today, even got a couple of play sessions out of him. Mama DS really picks what toys he wants on the playmat and handles them beautifully. Yes the chasing them in the park with a baby in a sling is a bugger isn't it Grin I normally do that now with DS asleep in the buggy with sling on hand just in case.

PenguinArmy · 01/02/2012 20:57

tally cutting them while doing their nails is mandatory I'm afraid, welcome to the club.

TallyBear · 01/02/2012 21:01

Thanks PA. I shouldn't complain really, compared to what Cup and Bea are going through...

MamaMaiasaura · 01/02/2012 21:40

tally I agree Roth PA, I cried when I cut ds1 thumb, been paranoid trimming babies nails since. (hug)

PA the little buggers darlings know when we can't chase them don't they? Wink

MamaMaiasaura · 01/02/2012 21:50

With not Roth?! Stupid me phone

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 01/02/2012 22:55

I'm watching OBEM and I'm broody again! I miss M being a wee newborn already Sad wish we could freeze time and have tiny babies for a bit longer

MamaMaiasaura · 01/02/2012 23:10

Ed broody here too. We may try again in a couple of years (squeeze one more on before I'm 40 Wink 36 now). It was around this time last year magic happened lol, DH proposed to me too Grin (sorry me me me Blush)
