Bilblio that is awful, you poor thing. Fingers crossed that they recover the car with the pram base still in it. What kind of pram is it? Might be worth posting in chat to see if anyone has one they can give you? Lots of mnetters seem to like helping in a crisis if they can.

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 27/12/2011 19:44

So sorry biblio hope ur all ok probably a good thing u didn't hear anything at least they weren't disturbed. groovy is right tho absolute scum to do that on boxing day!!

LittlePebble · 27/12/2011 21:58

Oh Bilblio thats awful I'm so sorry. Hateful people to break in at Christmas. At least no one was hurt.

Hope everyone had good Christmas x

bilblio · 27/12/2011 22:36

Good idea cheekydino. I've just posted on the pushchair section. It's a firstwheels city elite. It's 4 years old and they've changed the design now, t's not a pram you see about much though. It's lovely, basically a cheap (but not that cheap) bugaboo. There are some on ebay for £100, but it's frustrating buying a pram when we have the carrycot, pram seat, car seat... just no base!

Mum has phoned and DD has had a lovely afternoon and hasn't mentioned it, so hopefully it hasn't upset her. I'm just psyching myself up to go to bed. I've drank a very nice but naughty bottle of fruity cider and checked everywhere is locked.

Evil people! I love our house & estate, it's an ex-council estate, not the best reputation lately, but they're evicting the idiots. Our neighbours are lovely, school is fab and we have a fantastic view over the moors. I don't want to feel scared here!

LittlePebble · 27/12/2011 22:50

Bilblio I hope you get some sleep and manage to feel safe again in your home. Hopefully the police will find them and lock them up. Glad your DD is ok and will keep fingers crossed someone has your pram base! X

BB3 · 28/12/2011 07:29

bilblio how awful! Are you doing ok? Like the others have said at least you are all safe, things can be replaced!(although that doesn't take away how horrible it it to have those things taken! I think car insurance should cover your car and things in it so hopefully they will get it sorted soon enough and you can get a new car and pram from the money they send! Where are you based again?

groovy could be Christmas chaos, growth spurt or maybe feeling a bit under the weather! All my three have bugs and are all suffering differently ds boiling, cough and flushed, Ayse-Rose cough and bunged up and Edie flushed and temperature but they were all grumpy and unsettled before it hit them as such!

Penelope1980 · 28/12/2011 07:44

how terrible, being broken in Bilblio!

Hope everyone's christmases were good - ours was nice. I'm at the ILs at present which is actually really nice, they love spending time with A but are still respectful at my need to be alone with him at times as well. He's doing well, was unsettled in the portacot the first night, but seems better now.

groovy is S getting more settled now?

GroovyRach · 28/12/2011 17:52

Thanks everyone. Yes she has been much more settled. Think maybe just a few off days. Still drinking more milk, think I might need to add another oz to each feed and try get back to 2 1/2 hrs rather than every 2!

Headed into the sales today. Got S a nice wee cardigan from next that was on sale. Bit big for now as 3 - 6 but hopefully will fit perfect for early spring!

Spending one more night with my parents then home 2mrw. I've really enjoyed the company from being here but will be nice to get back to normal in our own house. Gonna move cot through to my bedroom when I get back as S has enjoyed sleeping in the travel cot here. Think she is enjoying having more space as she is getting a little cramped in the Moses now. Will be a shame to pack it away. My girl is growing up too fast!!!

Hope everyone is good!

Sorry to hear about the burglary Bilblio :( what a bunch of bastards. It's so horrible when you work hard for stuff and scumbag think it's okay to just come and help themselves. I hope you get some joy with the adverts.

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. Was Christopher super excited in the morning Edward?

On Christmas Eve DH and I had food poisoning and whilst he felt better probably by Tuesday I am still a bit dodgey feeling. We had gone out for a meal and ended up leaving after a hour and not really eating anything, I threw up down the side of a shop (classy!) and had had to leave P in the pram base on the seats next to our table whilst DH paid and I could run outside. Luckily it's a local, small restaurant. We had a small amount of potatoes for our Christmas dinner, sigh.

Off to the GP today too as P still has a cold after 2 weeks and I think she has lost a bit of weight due to not being able to feed as well as usual and not sleeping, currently waking every 40mins-1 hour. Think I have died!! :(

BB3 · 29/12/2011 03:21

Oh no Cheshire poor you and dh - is it worth getting yourself checked out at too whilst you're there if you're not feeling right?

Feel for you with sickness I'm currently led with two poorly babies (ds and Ayse-Rose) who can't sleep with high temp, cold and cough and need to be cuddled - they are lolled all over me - Looks like I'm up for the night though as neither of them lol ready to sleep anytime soon.

groovy glad she is better Xx

BB3 · 29/12/2011 03:22

At drs too (its too early for me to make any sense!!!£

Scheherezade · 29/12/2011 04:17

Sorry to hear about your pram biblio, and hoping you both feel better soon Cheshire!

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 29/12/2011 05:38

Aww that sucks Cheshire hope u and DH feel better soon.

Good news all round at my house Christopher is FINALLY over his cold/viral thing Grin he was ecstatic with his happyland cheshire although wasn't interested in opening anything for 2 hours after as he was still playing with it.
He got up and said "look what daddy built mummy"
Obviously I replied "no silly, Santa built it"
He then said (in funny tone u use when saying something obvious to a child expecting them to agree) "no mummy daddy did it"
So Santa lasted 2 years in my house lol anytime anyone has asked him what Santa got him he has replied with a book! (he got a book at the Santa's grotto lol)

To add to the good news DH appears to be over his mid life crisis (for those that remember the trouble I had before M was brn) he has now quit smoking altogether Grin long may it continue!

I hit the sales today too groovy in EK it's the busiest I've seen it Shock got lots of nice things for M but bought everything in 9-12 12-18 months as it's mostly winter styles so I'll put away for next winter. She got enough 3-6 month stuff at Xmas that she could prob wear a different outfit everyday and still not need to wash anything Shock

Granny Santa bought me and DH one of those massive iron steam generator things its AMAZING can iron a shirt in like a minute!!

Wow massive post from me sorry ladies. Hope everyone else is ok, sick people getting better and hope ur having some luck with ur pram and car and thing biblio

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 29/12/2011 06:04

Oh and I meant to ask how often are everyones babies feeding in the night?
M used to always wake for a feed around midnight then again at about 4-5am so I had started dreamfeeding around 11.30 when I went to bed, but I didn't last night and she didn't wake so I woke up at 4am with boulders for boobs so I dream fed her at that time.

But it seems at the moment it's me initiating feeding with her she v v rarely cries for it do u think that's ok? She is a bit snuffly ATM and just seems a lot more interested in sleeping than feeding.

BB3 · 29/12/2011 07:45

Edward - Ayse-Rose has a feed around 8pm hoes down then wales between 2-3 with a tiny little cry then is in with us til 6-7 ish, Edie-may the little beauty sleeps through (til about 6) I woke her op this morning at 6.30 as dh and I are taking friends to the airport x I'm going to try (when ds is better and I'm not a zombie) to get Ayse to last a bit longer in the night as once they're regularly sleeping through they'll go in their own room x in the day time I think I need to start stretching it out more as I'm feeding every 3 hours and mostly (apart from evening feed) it's me initiating it!

How are babies doing weight wise? Edie is piling it on and is starting to really chunk up but Ayse is a good inch slighter round the waist and her head is so much smaller -maybe they are just completely different builds. Going to pop into hv clinic tomorrow to get them both weighed and measured - hoping it's Edie that's big rather than Ayse small x

Engelsmeisje · 29/12/2011 07:58

Hi everyone, I'm back in the land of the clog (and back online!). Just popping in to say I hope you all had a good Christmas. Going to catch up on the new thread now!

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 29/12/2011 07:59

M hasn't been weighed for 3 weeks and was 12lb 2oz then I'm gonna try and weigh her myself today

Penelope1980 · 29/12/2011 08:49

Amotai tends to wake once a night, anytime between 4 and 6 am, then goes back down for a few hours. I've gotten complacent though, he had a bad night after Xmas and I felt rotten getting up three times, hard to imagine how often I was doing that not too long ago.

Not sure about his size but he's 12 weeks today and pretty much out of his 0 - 3 month clothes now. He's a big baby - was 6kg four weeks ago, not sure about now but am certain he's grown.

Fleecy · 29/12/2011 09:27

L has been settling around 8/9 downstairs with us, having nappy change and bottle feed around 11 when we go to bed then going straight down and sleeping though until 7/8. This has been happening for around four weeks.

BUT... we've had three nights with wakings over the last week - one night at 2am, night before last she woke at 4am and last night she woke at 1am and was inconsolable until 6am this morning. So I have had just over 2hrs sleep. Yuck!

She didn't want to feed much so not sure it's a growth spurt but just wouldn't settle - developmental I guess? DH and I took turns but that just meant neither of us slept! Poor man has to work today and I will be shoving DVDs on for the children.

NO idea how much she weighs as I haven't had her checked since our 8wk appointment and jabs.

Sorry about the food poisoning cheshire - is there a silver lining in the form of weight loss? Grin

LittlePebble · 29/12/2011 10:52

Hi all, Cheshire and BB3 hope everyone feels better soon. DP has been ill over Christmas too and E has been grizzly and snuffly. So jealous of all of you with sleep E is nearly 11 weeks and the longest sleep we've had has been 5 hrs a couple of times but normally he won't go to sleep until 12ish, then wakes at about 3, 5 and 7 then he'll go down again for most of the morning. He's already in 3-6 month clothes as he grew out of everything a couple of weeks ago so he's big for his age (weighed 14lb 12oz before Xmas)
We are wondering whether he's not sleeping because he's hungry and people are suggesting we add a bottle of formula at night but I don't want to muck up my milk supply, and am nervous of doing it. Any ideas welcome I'm exhausted!

strawberrypenguin · 29/12/2011 16:15

Hi everyone, would you mind if I joined you here? I know I'm very late finding you and I will understand if you feel uncomfortable adding a new person to your group now so please be honest if you would rather I didn't, I promise I won't be offended Smile I just would like some other mums with children roughly the same age as DS to talk things through with when my DH and I are freaking!

My DS (William) was born on 27 October after I was induced at 38 weeks due to diabetes, he is our first child (part of the reason for our freak outs) He has some health complications (still undergoing tests so not sure how serious yet) but he has a dilated kidney and very probably cranniosynistosis that we are awaiting a CT for investigation. We love him so much and will obviously always love him but sometimes we get a little worried about wether his is hitting his milestones as he should, ie how awake he is during the day, smiling etc

Anyway that's me, sorry for the long post, please feel free to tell me to go away if you would like to just keep to your original group

Strawberrypenguin

BB3 · 29/12/2011 16:25

Hi strawberry you're more than welcome - I have 15 week twins and they are both doing completely different things, one smiles the other doesn't, one cat naps all day and the other zonks for an afternoon stretch, one giggles the other doesn't and one is trying to sit and roll whereas the other is laaaazy! What are you worried about with ds' milestones specifically?

Penelope1980 · 29/12/2011 21:06

welcome strawberry!

I think Amotai caught wind of my earlier post saying he only wakes once a night, it's morning here now and I am feeling very tired after a terrible sleep lasy night. I think it's the heat - muggy and humid here!

strawberrypenguin · 30/12/2011 06:22

BB3 and Penelope thanks for the welcome :) BB3 it seems a bit silly when I put it down in writing really as he is only 9 weeks and I think we are being overly paranoid because of the issues with DS head, and probably expecting too much of him. He is still a very sleepy baby during the day and I guess i assumed he would be waking up a bit more. He rarely smiles and a lot of the time when he does I'm not sure if he means it iykwim. He stills seems very much a newborn, think I'm probably over thinking it and should just go with it a bit more!

BB3 · 30/12/2011 07:35

9 weeks is still small so I wouldn't worry about it - someone on here is bound to have a link or the knowledge to how much babies should sleep but I think it's about 16 hours a day (ish) although dont know by what proportion it decreases as the kids get older (wish someone would tell my two this though!!). And on sure they're proper smiles, they work up to the big ones! Xx

If you are worried (don't google) ask your mw xx
