Oh I'm sorry awen and edwardoreric Sad We were all ill last Christmas with DH, DS and DD all passing it between them then round again for a second bout. Nobody wanted to see us at all for aaaaaages (DD then got chicken pox and DS didn't so we had to wait out the incubation period in case he was infectious). So lots of sympathy coming your way!

I suppose even if it seems as though the whole feed is coming up, she probably is keeping some of it down. It always looks like loads more liquid than it is when it goes everywhere. Presume you just have to make sure she's still producing wet nappies?

PenguinArmy · 23/12/2011 23:14

:( for all the poorlies

we're now at the ILs

Favourite quotes of tonight

as I go to hand DS to DH
MIL: NO, I'LL hold him during dinner

MIL:'is he still feeding all the time'
Me:'well depends what you mean, obviously not literally'
MIL:every few hours
fuck me, if every few hours is 'all the time' then what the bloody hell is normal

edward dehydration is 2 or less wet nappies a day, dry mouth, etc. (Only because when DS went off food I looked it all up) Is DH off work now for the holidays?

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 23/12/2011 23:48

Thanks PA I've managed to get her off to sleep now with combination of swaddling calpol feeding and thumb. If she has my immune system (through BFing) then hopefully she'll only be down for a day or so as my throat already starting to get better.

I have googled DSs symptoms and think doc should have given him antibiotics, am sending DH out to pharmacy for antibacterial eye drops and some decent advice!! He's seen 2 doctors and I don't think either could be assed with a decent examination both said it was viral infection despite barely looking in his eyes or swabbing and despite the fact that they are leaking green pus constantly, poor boy didn't get out of bed today till 12 as he couldn't see!! (and his idiot father didn't clean his eyes)

Aah that feels better sorry all Fr massive rant!! Cup o tea then bed for me, will deal with housework an Xmas preparations tomorrow.

PenguinArmy · 23/12/2011 23:53

poor little thing

Penelope1980 · 24/12/2011 05:32

Hope the sick babies get better by tomorrow!

We are all packed up ready to drive to the ILs via my aunts, have decided to leave tomorrow (christmas day) to have quieter roads so just having lunch with a sister that lives near me then doing the 5 hour drive after that. Hope it goes well ...

It's hot here at the moment so I am planning on putting the baby in a singlet only for the car trip so he doesn't cook. He's worn nothing but a short onesey for days now, and I am obsessively lathering sun cream on him. Pity I forgot about myself as now have very red, burnt arms Blush

Jnice · 24/12/2011 05:42

I lost you all! I don't really understand how mn works sometimes (still quite new) - I think I have a lot of reading to do.

It has been lovely to see your gorgeous bundles on FB.

How are all the Xmas preparations going?

Jnice · 24/12/2011 05:49

Sorry to hear so many are sick, I hope you all have speedy recoveries. Be kind to yourselves because it's so hard looking after sick children especially if you are also sick.

Get well soon october families!

L was 2months yesterday an appear to be having a growth spurt although I thought the next one was 3 months. He is insatiable and very grumpy. He has started to make a sad whimpering cry when hey boobs don't provide fast enough. Its pretty heartbreaking Sad

bilblio · 24/12/2011 11:06

Oh dear, so many poorly people. Hope you all get better soon so you can have some sort of celebration. We got all our illnesses done with last week. I'm still coughing and snotty but that's the norm now.

We're also having car trouble. Driving home from IL's last night the engine sounded like it was working too hard and it felt like we were driving over the rumble strips. We had to pull over on the motorway and phone the RAC. It was dark & raining. DH was in a panic, especially when I pointed out we'd all have to get out of the car. He only had a jumper on, I had jumper and cagoule. DD was fine in her big thick coat and wrapped in a blanket and Seth was toasty warm in car seat, blanket and waterproof cover. Man came out but couldn't find anything followed us to services, but the rumbling was intermittent so said we were safe to come home and we now have to get it checked at a garage. It had a new exhaust in august and it sounded like that again.

But good news! Seth slept 10:30 - 8:30 last night and 12:30 - 7:30 the night before, and went straight back to sleep after both!
I however kept waking to check him. I need to learn to sleep through now. :o

MrsP81 · 24/12/2011 14:08

Just a quick one as everything has gone Christmas crazy!

I really hope all the poorly people get better soon. Sad

We are at ILs tomorrow penguin and I am not looking forward to it to be honest. Hopefully I am blowing it out of proportion in my mind and it will be a lovely day. Hmm

Our neighbours house fire looks like it was mainly in the garage, so even though it's still not nice it could have been much worse.

cheeky, at the moment I am unlatching DD to let the squirting milk go in a muslin and put her back on when it slows. She's not happy about being removed but it results in a happier feed overall. There's some good stuff on kellymom about it.

Hope you all have a lovely Christmas! Xmas Grin

TallyBear · 24/12/2011 17:28

Hope all the illness goes very soon. Not nice being ill, but especially not around christmas.

Hope everyone has a lovely day tomorrow Xmas Grin. We had a mini xmas today with dh and Seb, as we do every year (although before now without Seb!) and are off to my folks tomorrow am.

TMI alert..... Up until recently Seb has been doing about one poo a day but over the last few days he's being doing two, sometimes more. Not sure if this is normal. ???

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 24/12/2011 19:18

tally mhairi has been the opposite she used to do a poo after every feed :-0 but now is lucky to get one per day (and I'm still BFing) I also don't know what's normal

cheekydino · 24/12/2011 20:06

Sorry to hear about so many illnesses - hope everyone recovers quickly in time to enjoy Christmas.

Re poo (!) I think both sound normal to me. Ds and now dd both reduced to one or two a day from week 6 ish (I think). With dd it seems to depend (as with everything!) with wind. Sometimes she has an uncomfortable day where she doesn't manage and then the next she'll do a couple and be much happier.

I too am at the ILs (Penguin? On phone) and dreaded it, but it is much better than I feared - have just been brought gluwein and canapés as I'm putting dd to bed so can't complain! Hope you enjoy it too.

Anyway - merry Christmas everyone for tomorrow. SmileSmile

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 24/12/2011 20:20

I'm feeding M at the moment and getting shooting pains (like a needle stabbing me) at the bottom of my boob it's toe curling anyone know what thus could be?

cheekydino · 24/12/2011 20:23

Sounds like it could be thrush? My hv said that was like stabbing needles. Hope for your sake it's not and is just random pain (bad latch?).

LittlePebble · 24/12/2011 20:25

Sorry Edward no idea I get the odd strange pain sometimes but nothing for too long or too significant.

Merry Christmas to you all x

GroovyRach · 24/12/2011 22:52

Well it's been a long day and finally heading to bed. Me and Sophia wish you all a very merry christmas. I know she is only young but I'm so excited lol! Xmas Grin

BB3 · 25/12/2011 05:19

Merry Christmas ladies xxx enjoy your dsis with the new (and old) dcs xxx

bilblio · 25/12/2011 08:36

Merry Christmas all!

Seth slept through again. Yay! DD didn't wake until 7:15. I finally finished crocheting Seth blanket (which should have been for his birth) at 11:45 last night.

Hope you all have a great day.

MrsHende · 25/12/2011 11:23

Happy Christmas ladies and babies!

Fingers crossed some of us manage to eat Christmas dinner with both hands!x

Scheherezade · 25/12/2011 13:30

Merry Xmas everyone :) Cyrus is now doing anywhere between 7-9 hours on a night, am so happy! Prince lionhearted slumber bear really is a godsend.

Hope everyone enjoys their first Xmas with little ones, me and MIL can't stop sobbing!

GroovyRach · 26/12/2011 20:40

Hello! Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas!! Me and S definitely did. She was totally spoiled Smile. Enough clothes to last till she is a teenager!! It was all good tho, lovely food, lovely company and a few glasses of wine Grin

S has had a pretty grumpy few days tho. She is coming up for 3 months on the 30th so don't know if that's got something to do with it. When she isn't sleeping or eating, she won't lay or sit in her bouncy seat or play may for more than 5 mins! Then even when she is picked up, she is proper screaming. It's taking a lot to settle her back down! Still going 9 til 9 at night tho so I'm very glad she isn't unsettled then. Is feeding more as well I think. Normally it's around 5oz every 2 1/2 - 3 hrs (first and last bottle are 6oz tho as she is sleeping all night, can only imagine she is starving in the morning!). But today, we have been lucky to last 2 hrs! I'm gonna pop down on Wednesday to have her weighed so I'll ask about it then. Looked online and it's estimates to be that she should be taking around 30oz every 24hrs which is what she is just now. Maybe just having a few wee off days!

Anyway, just finished milk do its off to bed x

We were broken into last night. :(
We were all upstairs in bed, didn't hear a thing.

DH came down this morning and couldn't find his cigarette's was hunting everywhere, then went to turn the laptop on and realised it was gone. Came up to wake me, I came down, to see what else was gone and realised my purse and keys were gone, and then noticed the car had gone.

Thankfully there were no photos on the laptop as we have PC's. Everything can be replaced. We've had the police round, and locksmith's. CSI people couldn't see anything on the house but they might if they recover the car.

I went out about an hour ago to get milk and clear my head. Walking down the road I saw what looked like our wrapping paper, then up the banking I saw the bin bags we'd wrapped up for MIL for Christmas (I have bought her another present too) and a bit further on was everything from my purse, all the cards and £20 still wrapped in a receipt. No car or laptop though. :( I found it quite funny that they pinched the bin bags, and not the DVD we bought BIL. :o

The most frustrating thing is the pram base is in the boot of the car. I didn't take it out the other night because we were late back and with the hassle of calling the RAC I just wanted to get in and get DD to bed.

DD has gone to my Mum's until I get my head round it a bit. I'm just glad she doesn't really get what's happened, even though she knows, and thankfully they didn't take any of her things.

I'm going to post on Freegle now asking for a pram. Seth is okay in the sling...unless it snows, I'm not risking carrying him then. I run our local group so I'm taking advantage. I've already broken our rules and posted an off topic "WANTED:Burglars" message asking people to keep an eye out for the car, and our neighbouring group has too.

bilblio · 27/12/2011 18:06

rach sorry didn't respond, I read your message about 3 times but my brain just isn't functioning at the moment. Maybe all the excitement of Christmas is affecting her. Have there been lots of people around, changes in routine? Seth sometimes has random days when he'll feed loads and be unsettled, usually it's wind. Great that she's still sleeping at night too. We've had 4 nights now where he's slept through. It would be nice if he went to sleep before midnight though.

Right off to find something to watch to distract me from life.

GroovyRach · 27/12/2011 18:23

bilblo oh how awful! Absolute scum of the earth, people who do that!!! It sends shivers down my spine to think of people wandering my house while me and S sleep. Big hugs to u and ur family Sad
