I did BLW with ds2, who is now the fussiest eater ever!

Will be doing it again. With yogurt etc I would dip the spoon in and hand it to DS, soon he was doing that.

mama good to see you Smile

sassy so sorry to hear about sil. I was seeing a bad man (violent) from 18 to 22. At that age it is hard because love is a new experience. It's hard as you don't know what's normal Sad I am so sorry she is going through all that, good that she has you.

Jnice · 15/01/2012 12:50

mama I think L is growth spurting. 1 or 2 wakings at night are usual for him but last night he was awake and feeding from 4am Sad I'm doing the 4am feed now and hoping he goes back down...

You have a great sleeper you lucky thing Wink

FunkyDuck · 15/01/2012 13:00

For those of u wanting to swim, my asda had the baby event on (not sure if all do at same time) and just got huggies swim starter pack (6 swim nappies and towel) for £1! Down from £5.67!! I got a few Grin

FunkyDuck · 15/01/2012 14:13

Oops mistake. Someone had put wrong ticket out and should have been £3, but she gave me them for £1 anyway Smile

BB3 · 15/01/2012 15:16

Funkyduck - your new name reminds me of a drinking game we used to play at uni (fuzzy duck / ducky fuzz) needless to say every time I read it I replace funky with a more inappropriate word and have a little giggle to myself! Oh, those were the days! Long, long, long time ago....

FunkyDuck · 15/01/2012 15:49

Haha, I know what one u mean! I never even had that in my mind. Oh those were the days!!

BB3 · 15/01/2012 15:58

I never was very good at that one... Wink

FunkyDuck · 15/01/2012 16:02

End up drunk before game has even started Grin

LittlePebble · 15/01/2012 17:39

Ha ha BB3 I thought same as soon as I saw it, I was terrible at that game Blush.

Mama nice to have you back Smile

Re: BLW I really like the idea but not sure Eli will wait until 6 months for food so may try a combination as suggested.

Have had quite stressful morning, very little sleep last night coupled by a blocked duct in breast this morning (ow ow ow!) managed to read up and had to put needle through blister on nipple and have managed to get it back to normal now but boob is really bruised. BB3 /fleecy my sympathy for mastitis as this was painful enough.
I have thought it might be why E was pulling of that breast do much so hoping it will make him feed better on that side.

Penelope1980 · 15/01/2012 20:45

haha drinking games ...

Oh mama I didn't realise you were , and had wondered where you'd gone.

I am pretty sure someone in RL knows my name too, but am not going to change as I don't really mind what I've put here, although will be using another name for more personal posts in other parts of MN! Am glad I wasn't outed though before all those TMI pregnancy 'is this labour' posts, and would hope that no-one would have the time or inclination to scroll back to read them!

Scheherezade · 15/01/2012 21:34

Please don't mind my MIL rant.....

Bloody MIL us trying to get me to stop breastfeeding! Just because she only did a little, she's going on about how C needs supplementing, and then last night we let her go to C to settle him when he woke up. But instead of settling him, she got him up to play! So he was completely over tired, and screamed absolute blue murder till gone midnight, which he has NEVER done. He was so so upset and exhausted :(

Even worse, when I discovered she had taken him out the nursery, she had made him a bottle of formula for his night feed, without asking me!! We only have the formula for when he is spurting and my supply has run out, so before giving him a bottle I let him suck on the empty breast for a while to stimulate the flow for the next day. But because ive been doing that, I was plenty full last night, and needed to feed him, else I'd be bursting by morning! Even worse, I had told her this! Am so, so, so annoyed.

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 15/01/2012 22:14

OMG sche how dare she I would be livid!!

My period has returned Sad is this normal? Ive only ever BF mhairi she's never had a bottle

Scheherezade · 15/01/2012 22:38

She keeps going on about how milk isn't enough and he needs more, or that he definitely will in a months time. She's just jealous because she gave in and gave hers bottles and baby rice at 12 weeks. C is now 16 weeks and I've no intention of weaning him. I've managed this spurt by how I mentioned, we're back to exclusive bf, I just find it so rude.

MamaMaiasaura · 15/01/2012 22:44

Scheherazade - so Angry on your behalf. I'd send her home tbh. Absolutely no way would I have her stay and disrespect and undermine me. (sorry ranting) but still!

Just booked break to centreparcs. We are so excited tho only in 3 weeks so got plan what I need to pack. I don't really want to take travel cot as that would mean Jeasica almost on floor level. Apparently cots are really rickety so seriously considering taking our own. Is that mad?

MamaMaiasaura · 15/01/2012 22:47

Scheherazade - you are doing brilliantly and she is taking shit. Also when growth spurt just feed more often for those few days as formula ca interfere with supply and increasing it. told dh what she did and he said she just jealous. I think he is right

Scheherezade · 15/01/2012 22:58

Mama, when spurting I let him suck on empty breast for quite a while before giving bottle to satisfy him. Boosts my supply and fills him up so win win. Hoping it was the 'dreaded' 4 month spurt and we're now through it. He woke in night 4 nights in a row which he's not done in a long time, but all seems back to normal now fingers crossed.

Ed, I'd have thought it normal to have a period by now surely? I can't comment as am on contraceptive injection

Scheherezade · 15/01/2012 23:01

Plus I only give the bottle once a day on the night, no more than that. I just let him have boob every hour in the day! Might not suit some but works for us, 16 weeks and back to exclusive bf again :) just dream feeding now, fingers crossed he goes 8 hours.......

MamaMaiasaura · 15/01/2012 23:12

Fingers crossed for you scheh Smile I've just popped J in cot as she fell asleep feeding too and hoping for 7/8 hour stretch too. Funny how they vary as ds2 always woke in night and J hasn't much at all (tempted fate now!). Wasn't having a pop about giving bottle, just sharing what knowledge I had, which isn't always a lot.

MamaMaiasaura · 15/01/2012 23:14

Es - no period here. With ds1 and ds2 i think it was a year till I have one, might have been sooner with ds1 as he was nursing less. I've got PCOS so very irregular anyway so perhaps I'm not the norm. Poor you with periods.

MamaMaiasaura · 15/01/2012 23:14

Ed not Es

SconesForTea · 15/01/2012 23:27

Ed everyone gets their period back at different times. In my group of bf mum friends with DD1 i was the last at 9m.

Scheh I would be so livid if my MIL tried anything like that. She would not get near LO again for a long long time. Shocked and appalled.

DD2 has been down since half ten tonight, keeping my fx this is the start of a new pattern. And wondering why I'm not getting sleep, instead of MNing...

bilblio · 15/01/2012 23:31

ed no period here yet either, but yes it can return while exclusively bf. Some people just get unlucky. That's why bfing isn't a good contraceptive.

sche I'd be fuming! I am fuming on your behalf!

Met up with brother, sil and nieces today. Youngest niece is 8m, so sitting and trying to stand, but we laid her and Seth next to each other and there's about an inch difference in length. He looked tiny when we did the same thing 3 months ago.

Scheherezade · 16/01/2012 00:33

No worries mama, It's a touchy subject ;)

He woke up :( think it was wind and then he sicked a little, stuck him on boob and seems to have dropped off again, but going to wait a bit....

Scheherezade · 16/01/2012 00:46

And he did a big poo. Bloody typical.

Scheherezade · 16/01/2012 01:57

He's still awake :( dp is giving it a go now, even though he has to be up for work in 4 hours
