New Year - New Thread!!

Hope you all had a lovely festive season!

I went for a nice walk in the park today as it was lovely & sunny. Sneezed violently half way round and realised my pelvic floor integrity ain't what it used to be. Which got me thinking about New Years resolutions!

  1. DO MORE PELVIC FLOOR EXERCISES!!!
  2. Get Toned and Fit
  3. Get pregnant
  4. Sort out the garden

Obviousy number 3 may have an impact on 1 and 2!!

ooh Nik - don't get our hopes up like that - am going to be wondering now . how late is late and is it normal that its late ???? Consider my fingers well and truly crossed !

futurity · 08/02/2006 09:45

this time last year i was in hospital sat around bored as my c-section wasn't booked until the afternoon!
No wild parties here for Sam today as he has got cough and I have got the bug now and have snots and feel very sick so don't know if I will manage any party food let alone the caterpiller cake i bought from tescos! he is having his pressies when older brother is back from nursery this afternoon. feel really bad as he hasn't got much from us (doesn't need anything really being the second boy!) but I may get him the tumble Tigger later I saw in Woolworths as he loves it when we go in there.

gossifer · 08/02/2006 15:10

hello to all and sorry to miss the birthdays

can you give linus and sam a 'happy birthday hug' from leon and me?

we're still poorly here, leons' been sick since last thurs! today, so far, is the first day he hasn't been sick

i just worked 3 days straight (sun/mon/tues) so dad and son did lots of poorly bonding, which was really good for both of them

lets hope leon's better for his party (have 9 days!!!)

sorry for all the poorly ones, keep dreaming of spring and picnics in the park...............

love reading about all the walkers and new shoes, so cute! leon has a new pair of the soft ones, his old pair got so worn out and although he stands for a while on his own, no walking yet

angeliz, that bed sounds great, good on you!

gossifer · 08/02/2006 15:12

oh

and

HAPPY BIRTHDAY nik!, hope your dp gets his act into gear!

have a lovely day

Blondeinlondon · 08/02/2006 18:27

Happy Birthday Sam!

Happy Birthday Nik!

Nothing to report here. Still ill. Failed to leave the house today. Needed to go to the post office which is only at the end of the street but couldn't muster the energy. But the sun was shining this morning which helped

Hazellnut · 08/02/2006 18:53

The tumble time tigger is fab !! DD was given it for christmas and we love it (not sure she's as enthusiastic about it as we are but we get it out any time someone comes round !!!!).

I see you've made it on Mumsnet BiL - a thread on the homepage... and what a thread . Hope you're feeling better soon and Leon, Goss....

Blondeinlondon · 08/02/2006 19:12

Ah I love the glory of a thread on the homepage!

gossifer · 08/02/2006 20:38

gossifer · 08/02/2006 20:40

starlover · 08/02/2006 20:50

picnikel · 09/02/2006 07:36

Hi all & thanks for the birthday wishes. Had a nice meal out last night - nice to sit & chat to DH rather than the usual evening slumped in front of the TV!!

Was getting all excited due to AF being 5 days late but did a test & it's negative so am putting it down to stress. Have had terrible insomnia for a while so am shattered - not sure if it's winter blues or after effects of The Virus From Hell but either way can't wait for spring!

Found your thread HUGELY entertaining BiL. I had no ideas about the pampas grass thing. When we moved into our place last year there was one in the front garden and in the neighbours garden. The neighbour came over to say hello and was really friendly - I thought she was being nice but now I wonder if she was after a deeper friendship IYKWIM !! Anyway the pampas grass got ripped up when we did the driveway.....thank goodness. One wouln't want to send out the wrong signals would one ?

Good luck with the house, SL .

Hazellnut · 09/02/2006 08:53

Sorry to hear about the negative test Nik but glad you had a good evening out !

W0MBAT · 09/02/2006 10:04

Glad you had a good birthday Nik. Shame about the negative test.

As for the insomnia, I have suffered from it on and off for years. I have found that what works for me is having a hot milky drink and reading a book just before going to sleep. I find that the more interesting the book, the quicker I go off to sleep. Another thing is to put a bit of lavender oil on your pillow. I'm sure you know this already.

Well done getting on the home page BiL. Must go and start a thread about something naughty now. Hmmm, I'll have to think about that one...

jolly4 · 09/02/2006 12:57

starlover · 09/02/2006 18:48

nik... you know it is possible to have a false negative! a friend of a friend had negative after negative.
then gave birth! so you never know eh? on the bright side, if it really IS negative though, think of all the fun you can have trying some more!!! lol

jolly4... hope you have a lovely day tomorrow and katy appreciates it all! especially the cake! lol

i have been up in N.London today at Marslady's house, sampling her lovely lemon drizzle cake and generally helping to trash her lovely house! lol
am totally knackered now... no idea how you all manage public transport and little ones!

gossifer · 09/02/2006 18:58

nik, leon is the proud product of a negative test!!! i didn't find out i was pregnant (after the negative) until 8 weeks !!!!!

starlover · 10/02/2006 13:14

oh dear... bad mummy alert here!!!!

Linus fell down 2 steps at marslady's house yesterday and banged his head on the skirting board... so slight bruise there this mroning.

out in town earlier he was walking around Boots, mostly behaving. But when i stopped to look at something he started playing up so i just plonked him in the buggy.
Realised he was going to hurl himself out and instead of grabbing him shouted "Linus... Nooooooo"
just in time for him to fall headfirst onto the floor. Cue screaming and tears and HUGE lump on his forehead which he had managed to hit in the exact same place!!!!
Poor baby... i felt so bad, but also relieved that no-one had seen!!!!!!!!!!!

anyway, he seemed ok.. alert, not woozy at all. eventually managed to calm him down and he sat in the buggy and ate some raisins, so think he's ok!

Angeliz · 10/02/2006 13:33

I LOVE your honesty at feling releived at the same time that noone was watching So refreshing!

Poor Linus Hope he's o.k!

starlover · 10/02/2006 19:37

he seems ok... still got quite a lump which is bruising nicely. But seems fine in himself, nice and perky so think he'll be alright!

Hazellnut · 10/02/2006 20:01

ahhh poor linus - you terrible mother you !! Hope you gave him some left over lemon drizzle cake to make him feel better !!

Glad he's ok.
