New Year - New Thread!!

Hope you all had a lovely festive season!

I went for a nice walk in the park today as it was lovely & sunny. Sneezed violently half way round and realised my pelvic floor integrity ain't what it used to be. Which got me thinking about New Years resolutions!

  1. DO MORE PELVIC FLOOR EXERCISES!!!
  2. Get Toned and Fit
  3. Get pregnant
  4. Sort out the garden

Obviousy number 3 may have an impact on 1 and 2!!

OP posts:

Sorry to hear about so many ill babies and sleepless nights. My dd has still got a cold but has been sleeping well for a few weeks now so I'm really hoping it lasts.

We have denby crockery Hazellnut and it's sitting collecting dust in our dresser, as I've been so paranoid about it getting damaged. Good to know that it doesn't break easily. I will have to test it out for fun.

Angeliz - hope it was just pregnancy hormones getting to you yesterday. I used to feel sad a lot when I was pregnant and couldn't even watch pet rescue without breaking down.

BiL - I have had to deal with quite a few exploding nappies. The worst was after she had baked beans for the first time. Big mistake!

PJsMum - gosh, your kids sound lovely. I can't imagine the kids I used to teach being quite so sympathetic.

sweetbean · 05/02/2006 16:07

Hi everyone

Gave dd some cows milk at lunch and she had about 5oz and loved it so hopfuly no more buying formula

I hope all the poorly babies feel better soon and all the tired mummys get some sleep.

pjsmum · 05/02/2006 18:25

Ok dd is asleep i know its early but we went to a softplay centre this morning, she a ball but is totaly shattered. She slept for an hour (a whole hour) when we got in, thats been unheard of for weeks. Wouldnt have a nap this afternoon but hey cant have everything.
The school children are great particulary when you know that they come from one of roughest areas of Salford and have horrible crap of their own to deal with. Right off to enjoy the silence whilst it last!

Angeliz · 05/02/2006 19:33

Thanks for you concern girls and at more poorly babies.
Well i took aMELIA TODAY AND NEARLY EXPLODED IN ANGER!
She was supposed to have DTP+Polio at 4-5-6 months and Hib+Men.C at 789 months. We just felt more comfy withn that/. We went to Direct Health 2000. So far they've cancelled one clininc due to not many clients! They've let us come back early from holiday to tell us another clinic was cancelled as they'd forgotten their emergency box, they've took the wrong vaccine! SO we went today and i explained that i thought dd wouylod only need 2 Men.C and Hib now as she was nearly a year already. The nurse went to get the vaccines and Lo and Behold, they'd used the Hib for someone else.

I was ranting, 'you are the most incompetent company i've ever come across, if i had any alternative i'd go elsewhere, dd is nearly 4 month late because of your stupidity' i am so SICK of bloody morons. Anyway, who ARE the Docs on here, can i check something with you?

They've booked me in for a March clinic. Amelia will be nearly 13 months so, if she gets her second Men.C that will be enough won't it as she'll be over a year. Also she'll only need one Hib wont she as i've read that on a few Doc's pages.
Am i right??

I am 9 weeks now BTW and i am so tempted to have a glass tonight! I've cryed all day, i had forgotten how miserable pregnancy actually made me!
Hazellnut, Amelia was awake last night from 1 am till 3.30 am. In the end i put her in her cot(we aminly co-sleep) and she was standing up saying, 'baba!'

Angeliz · 06/02/2006 09:28

Starlover, i've posted athread for the face of Calpol entries. I saw Linus this morning lovely++ Please add him as i didn't feel i should without your knowledge!

Hazellnut · 06/02/2006 10:01

ok have voted for amelia Angeliz, that photo is so cute - Starlover, where abouts in Linus, I didn't have the patience to look through 470 but will vote if you point me in the right direction!!

Angeliz · 06/02/2006 10:25

Can't find Linus again!!!

Angeliz · 06/02/2006 10:25

cheers Hazellnut

roosmum · 06/02/2006 19:18

hello all!

angeliz, that piccie of amelia is amazing, i have voted for her she has such a distinctive look (in a good way!), nothing like any of the other babies i saw in my quick look on there. sorry to hear abt your jab hassle, they sound pretty useless!

am trying to catch up with this thread - have just got totally bogged down in that muslim cartoon thread...wow that's hard going!!
hope estate agents gave you the news you were looking for HN. btw, never got round to answering re Mill on Floss - wd stand with opinion that it's a great book & def. a 'classic' & it needs reading. BUT i think Daniel Deronda is far better -- a better read & thematically fascinating. it's usu. viewed as GE's 'best' novel - critically - rather than the more popular/better known MM.

tipex - sleep ? dare i mention?!
roo has a cold so spent last night in our bed, doing some all-night snacking. tonight will be similar i expect!

roo is properly walking now, going to clarks for 1st shoes tomorrow - well cruiser type things anyway. v. exciting! will be thinking of you SL!

ok gotta go, hope all well
will try & post more often on here, slacking i know!

Blondeinlondon · 06/02/2006 19:34

Hi all

Intrigued by the Calpol competition - I had a quick look and is it right you don't get any $$$ if you win? Anyway good luck to those entered

DS is still ill and now I seem to have the lurgee too. We have hung around the house watching Ricki Lake and other trash today.

DS is going for his first haircut tomorrow despite illness. Has anyone else's LO had a haircut yet?

Angeliz · 06/02/2006 19:52

Thats right BIL, just the glory
Thanks Roosmum, she is distinctive isn't she i actually think they'll probably pick a blonde blue eyed child. Amelia is still cruising the furniture but not yrt walking.
Is it Tipex who is the G.P on here? Hope she's pon soon to reassure me of those bleedin jabs.

Angeliz · 06/02/2006 20:46

Thanks Tipex. Well she had one Men.C on Saturday at 11 months so one more in March right?
Also will she just need the one Hib in March as she'll be 13 months? (she's had no Hib so far)

Sleep. What is sleep?
Amelia is sleeping terribly at the moment too!!

roosmum · 06/02/2006 21:19

oooh, tipex 10 days?! that's pretty bad then huh?!
is he taking milk ok? poor little bean...

don't you just feel hard done by - they're 1 now...i really thought roo wd sleep by now

i'm hanging on to what sweetbean said, abt walking LOTS & direct link to sleep. i wish! we'll see anyway, he's getting better at walking every day (got from kitchen, through dining room, into lounge today for 1st time ). still a bit wobbly tho.

on the jab front - & this is mainly for the single-jabbers, AL & SL? - i would've gone for separate jabs BUT i heard (from a friend, but not researched it myself) that the single jabs contain thimerosol (?), the mercury stuff that used to be in mmr & has since been removed. some people think this was the link (if any) between autism/bowel disorder & mmr. now that totally put me off the separate jabs - does anyone know anything abt this?? just wondering.

SLEEP you naughty babies - amelia & babytipex!!

Angeliz · 06/02/2006 21:28

The company we use (Direct Health 2000) doesn't give any jabs with mercury in Roosmum. They are CRAP though, i mean crap with a capital C as you can see from my weekend. If there was any alternative i'd go elsewhere!

Tipex, i missed that, i thought it said he'd not slept in 10 days. Oh poor baby

starlover · 06/02/2006 21:39

if you haven't voted already then do so for Linus here!

bottom left

starlover · 06/02/2006 21:40

sorry, just read and you've already voted! never mind

roosmum · 06/02/2006 21:41

oh ok, that's interesting! whereabouts are you angeliz? i've never heard of thingy2000...
they DO sound rubbish tho. what do you have to do now, go back again?? what a faff!

roosmum · 06/02/2006 21:41

hello SL!!

starlover · 06/02/2006 21:43

hiya roosmum!

sorry to hear about non-eating/sleeping baby tipex Linus has been drinking more milk, and refusing all lumps (including banana!) lately.... maybe it's a 1 yr old phase?????

Angeliz · 06/02/2006 21:44

I have to go back at the end of March for ,i think her second and final Men.C (as she'll be over a year) and her one and only Hib. (I'm waiting for Tipex to clarify this for me though)
They are awful! I suppose if i don't find another we'll have to do single MMR jabs there too but will search for an alternative. (They don't seem to get as confused about MMR though as i think that's what they're more used to)

Starlover, i would vote for Linus too but have used dp's address to vote for Amelia. Can't see how it will ever work as surely some people would have hundreds of people voting! Oh well, it's just a bit of fun!

starlover · 06/02/2006 21:46

i sent the link to bob's work so his office have all voted for linus! lol

roosmum · 06/02/2006 21:49

nice one SL!

there's a LOT of babies on there
(roo-less tho!)

starlover · 06/02/2006 21:52

i know! couldn't believe it when i was faced with 470 odd pages to go through! lol

Hazellnut · 06/02/2006 22:40

after promising to vote for both and then realising you can only vote once I spent ages registering dh (unbeknownst to him) using his unused home email. However, the site still records I have voted so it must be by computer - although I see Angeliz, you've used your dh's address to vote again ... hmmmmmm... So sorry SL, I did try .
