New thread just for you star!

Well, hopefully not just for you, or it could get a bit boring talking to yourself Grin.

HP Grin
When Q decides he wants to watch Power Rangers (which might not actually be a cartoon now I think about it Grin) I suspect you too will discover new levels of "you are NOT watching that rubbish"
That and a terrible programme on Kix (?) with bimbo girls and triangular super hero boys.
Tis a world away from Bagpuss....

Purpleprickles · 05/02/2012 21:58

We are subjected to Krypto The Superdog hereGrin

HavePatience · 05/02/2012 22:02

Q is still good with cbeebies and some milkshake. He loves that show about mist the sheepdog. I dread peer influence.
My students are all into bakugan (sp??) no idea what this is but they pop up in a lot of writing. And there are cards, which are not allowed at school but they try to bring out daily at snak time anyway Hmm

Purpleprickles · 05/02/2012 22:04

I love Mist the Sheepdog, I wish ds did. The one about the lost chicks is hilarious GrinBlush I clearly need to get out more.

HavePatience · 05/02/2012 22:05

Show me show me and Justin's house can occupy his full attention as can peppa pig and ben and holly. I use these when I need to get something done.

Mist on a Sunday morning is a must, though. I honestly can see the draw...
We watch t on the laptop because I can't sort out when it's on tv.

HavePatience · 05/02/2012 22:08

Ok Blush I will admit that I have laughed with mist, I just don't see why Q loves it so much. Totally entranced. Fireman Sam - nothing. He I'll ask to turn it off - weird kid

Purpleprickles · 05/02/2012 22:09

I love it when Ds watches Justin's House because he cracks up laughing and it's so cute to hear. He also loves Peppa and Ben and Holly's Little Kingdong as he calls it. He would watch tv all day if he was allowed too.

Purpleprickles · 05/02/2012 22:10

Mist rocks Grin

HavePatience · 05/02/2012 22:13

Envy if it's light outside, Q gets restless after one show. When he was home sick I just wanted to cuddle up nd watch tv but he gets bored after 10 mins and asks me repeatedly to play with him, until I do.

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/02/2012 22:23

Oh no, do feel free to contradict me pp. It was more of a question based on my experience than a statement of fact.
Star - GPs always tend to test rashes just to be sure that they are not meningitis, as if they didn't and it was the child could be v ill and we might sue them. As long as it passes the glass test then you can rest assured that it isn't :).

pepper - no, dh is still out of work and our mortgage is getting bigger :(.

I must have a telly addict. Ds just woke up, he has a temp of 40.2. Given him calpol again and tried to convince him to get in bed with me but he won't. I hate it when he has a temp at night as I'll go to sleep and won't know it's it getting worse or better. Is that a bit mad?

HavePatience · 05/02/2012 22:30

No, I feel the same, PP.
Why is your mortgage getting bigger, csws? I hope he finds something, soon!
Glad to hear rash prodding is normal! :)

HavePatience · 05/02/2012 22:31

Did you give nurofen? When temp that high, sometimes nurofen works more quickly

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/02/2012 22:34

Mortgage getting bigger because the money in our mortgage account is the money we are having to live off!

OP posts:
Purpleprickles · 05/02/2012 22:42

I have nurofen and have set my alarm for a few hours to do a temp check Blush

CSWS that sounds incredibly stressful. I hope something comes up for Dh soon. Are you looking too? Am I right in remembering you were considering returning to work before ds2?

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/02/2012 23:41

No you are not right in remembering that pp! I was hoping to be a lady who lunches domestic goddess once they are all in school, but I am considering whether I might need to find a job. Though with childcare costs for 3 children (albeit only part time for dd) it would need to be a jolly good one to be worthwhile financially, and a bloody wonderful one to be worthwhile emotionally.
There may be something in the pipeline for dh, but the start date of the project has been delayed, so it might still be another couple of months.

Q has been up coughing and scratching all night. I've now come downstairs for a nap but can't get back to sleep. Sore throat and generally achy Sad I can't take tomorrow off, though as I need to save the sick days I have for him when he's ill. No more temperature, just itchy all over now.
Cough is a normal night time occurrence in this weather.
Pp I hope his fever has broken and you can get some sleep! X
Csws that's great that something is in the pipeline! I didn't know you could use mortgage money in that way Blush. How awful that it's getting bigger, though Sad

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/02/2012 07:58

Poor q.

We can only use mortgage money that way because we have a 'flexible mortgage', meaning that we can pay extra in if/when we have it, and take money back out (up to our original agreed mortgage limit) when we need it.

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/02/2012 07:59

And if you are ill then you must take the day off so as not to infect the children that you teach!

I rang dr and he said to go to work and it will pass in time. Sore throats going around. Yes, yes fever and chills common with it HmmConfused
Q now sounds hoarse (like me). Lovely.

Purpleprickles · 06/02/2012 18:41

CSWS when you are a lady wot lunches please come and have a cake in my shop that I will hopefully have then Grin I know what you mean about childcare costs. If we ever did have a second most of my wages would go on childcare which makes you wonder bout the point of it all!

HP sorry you are ill too. J ended up getting in my bed so I could get some sleep. Dh called dr and dr told him to come in to be checked. No ear or throat infection so just a virus. He seems a bit better but still gets these high temps so I'm having tomorrow off. To be honest I feel like crap myself so am glad to be home. Hopefully he is better by Weds or we hit a childcare crisis.

Hi Myjob- get well wishes to N. Helloooo Ronshar, how is work?

HavePatience · 06/02/2012 19:12

Agree, 2 in childcare would mean we don't get to pay all of our bills. But one of us staying at home also means not enough to pay bills. Not nice. So happy he will be in school ft from August! (well, not as serious as reception, by far).
