Hello everyone!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ILovePonyo · 31/10/2011 19:23

Well we've had a few trick or treating kids, I don't mind when their parents are with them but we also got older kids with no costumes expecting sweets Hmm Grin That house sounds great wandering!

reastie I used to give A milk but now have swapped to rice cakes or fruit as a snack, mostly b'cos thats what nursery do so thought I'd do the same. Why aren't you taking your meds yet lady? Oh and I'm not a weirdo, just a heavy drinker Grin Wink

40 reastie is right, it is choco with the poorly ear. Hope you feel better soon, sounds grim, is M awake a lot in the night at the moment?

emski well done making it half way through the day, hope you made it to the end! Bet it must be lovely being home now :)

A was so tired earlier poor thing, she just fell asleep in bed on her back, normally she rolls onto her front but she was too tired to even do that.

wigglesrock · 31/10/2011 19:30

Evening all,

We've already had most of the street calling already - I bought lots of sweets thinking not many would call and I could scoff the remainder whilst Mr W is on nights the rest would do for any picnics during the week but my supply is dwindling - if it wasn't for those pesky kids Grin

We took the girls to the Giant Causeway this morning, its Sofias' favourite place Hmm, God we nearly got blown away, I got to go to the gift shop but it was good fun. Afraid a lot of the tourists just weren't equipped for the weather, they were coveting the girls woolly hats Grin

reastie I gave Anna a mid morning snack - yogurt, some breadsticks, a bit of muffin (breakfast ones not yummy ones). She loves pizza too.

emski glad work went well Grin

Hope all those having parties enjoy them and those hiding upstairs are not tortured by the doorbell Grin

40Weeks · 31/10/2011 19:39

Oops sorry choc hope the ear isn't too painful, sorry I got confused

reastie I do bottle at 7 then brekkie at 8 like you but then I do his lunch at 11.30 so it's not as long to wait, then bottle at 2.30 ish

chocoroo · 31/10/2011 19:52

Hello all,

Thanks for all the sympathy re: ear. It's still throbbing away but I'm necking painkillers every two hours and I managed to put drops in my own ear earlier. I'm getting really worried about work next week do I think the stress isn't helping. I need a day off!

40 Hope you're on the mend soon.

wiggles Giants causeway sounds fab. I've always wanted to visit NI but DP isn't bothered. My mum's family are from there so I think we shod at some point.

ponyo and wandering am very disappointed in our lack of trick or treaters. We had some little ones early doors (before I bought chocolate) but none since. Will have to eat choc myself (Cadbury, of course). The early ones got raisins instead!

reastie I'm on the same schedule as you, but lunch is nearer 12 (it'll be 11:40 at nursery) so I usually offer water and give a breadstick or rice cake. R has gone funny with food - insists on doing it all herself and glaring at me when she wants her spoon loading.

jane Hope your finger is better soon.

four4 I used to love making dens!

ledkr I could just eat a hot dog!

emski Well done on surviving the morning! I bet you're tucked up in bed already!

Well, boiler was delivered but not fitted so I have to stay in all day tomorrow missing HV and last buggy fit. I'm not fit to join in buggy fit but I was going to o to say hello. So frustrating.

WanderingSheep · 31/10/2011 19:52

Just back from trick or treating! DD1 was more excited than she gets at Christmas [hhmm]

That house didn't disappoint! [hgrin] They'd done it all up again and there were loads more. We've had loads of trick or treaters, I love it! I'll be gutted when the DDs are too old/old enough to go by themselves!

WanderingSheep · 31/10/2011 19:56

Choc the early trick or treaters that you got probably told their mates,"don't go to that house, you'll only get raisins!" which is why you're lacking in trick or treaters [hwink] Hehe.

wigglesrock · 31/10/2011 20:06

choco oh you're one of the raisins Mummys, before you know it you'll be handing out toothbrushes instead [hgrin]. Hope ear starts to ease, horrible type of pain xxx

debka · 31/10/2011 20:26

Hi Deb the Sleb here Grin

OK, you've found me out. I am, in fact, Very Famous. Nah, don't know why you think I'm off the telly! I asked DH who he thought I might look like, he immediately came up with <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=kirstie+allsopp&um=1&hl=en&biw=1024&bih=454&tbm=isch&tbnid=jdq1UTJL99P8EM:&imgrefurl=www.express.co.uk/posts/view/110756&docid=-iosXfND-1HfZM&imgurl=images.dailyexpress.co.uk/img/dynamic/10/285x214/110756_1.jpg&w=285&h=193&ei=rv-uTuGRN8yF8gPs7ZiKDg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=642&vpy=238&dur=5082&hovh=133&hovw=196&tx=140&ty=134&sig=105796713007502188461&page=3&tbnh=105&tbnw=140&start=26&ndsp=12&ved=1t:429,r:10,s:26" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">kirsty allsopp Grin bless him, I don't think I look a thing like her but I'm flattered :)

Everyone was lovely and normal and it was the high point of my year weekend meeting up. Wish I lived closer so I could come again.

Not been on for ages cos we went up for the show, got back late last night and been busy all today. OMG we have Serious PiL Problems... They were there at the show and almost totally blanked my mum, it was though she didn't exist. I was utterly furious at their rudeness. They also had the gall to complain that a) Imy doesn't want to go to them and b) they don't see enough of the girls. (this was via sil). FFS, perhaps a) has SOMETHING TO DO WITH b)???!!! They've visited for ONE DAY when each of the girls were born, and not FiL, he's scared to go over the Dartford bridge (not a problem however when he sells his paintings at the 3 or 4 shows he attends in Kent but won't do it for his grandchildren). We've been married for 6 years and TWO VISITS in that time. I'm not going to any more shows to be treated the way they treated me and my mum, I'll go at Christmas and if they want to see their grandchildren they can damn well visit. Angry DH is also furious at them which is nice :)

I have read the thread but can't remember everything to comment, sorry Blush. Hi to everyone though! xxx

janedoe25 · 31/10/2011 20:41

debka sorry your pils are so shit, you are doing the right thing although I'm not sure I would bother visiting them at christmas.

I had no kids at the door yay! I am such a miserable meany this year but I just can't be bothered!

Emski76 · 31/10/2011 20:46

I survived the day! Woohoo! It was a good day and I honestly feel like I've never been away. I really missed everyone and the banter etc. Noah had another good day at nursery, when I got there he cuddled me and wouldn't let me go. He twists his hands into my hair and climbs up me as tho he can't get close enough, lovely.
We've had loads of Halloweeners, Ben got his mask and devils horns on each time the doorbell rang and him and dh ran to the door. It was going really well until dh managed to close the door on Ben catching his head! He screamed blue murder and now has a purple bump on his head! To top it all off Noah puked after his bottle before bed! I got it, hs grobag and pj top got it and the sofa bed got it! I was strangely calm tho and he's gone to sleep ok so I think hed just been a bit of a piggy.
Finally eaten tea now and watching Oz Masterchef with dh.

Deb, am so annoyed on your behalf re pil. What an awful way to behave! Have they seriously only visited twice?! So, your not famous then? Must just have 'one of those faces'.

Reastie, Noah still has bottle with breakfast, mid morning and mid afternoon. I'll probably stick with it until he's a year old, as we did with Ben. He rarely drinks it all but I always make 150ml.
Yep, I'm exhausted from work but also buzzing!

What do you put on your pizza Reastie? I'm unsure of what Noah would be able to eat?

Oh funny story. Ben was eating a cheese toastie sat on the sofa, after he bumped his head, and Noah crawled up to him, pulled himself up against the sofa and helped himself to some of Bens food. I was so amazed at how much of a piggy he is! It was brilliant!

Thanx all for support today, it was so lovely knowing I had you all behind me. Xx

chocoroo · 31/10/2011 20:47

deb I am fuming on your behalf. Your mum was absolutely lovely (as were you and the girls) and I'm astounded anyone could be so rude. I think it is probably a good thing they never come down south and invade your space. I'm sure you could send ledkr round....

WanderingSheep · 31/10/2011 21:02

Deb your pils sound like wankers and I think I'd be tempted not to visit them at Christmas!

So where did everyone meet at this meet up then? I don't think any of you live near me.

janedoe25 · 31/10/2011 21:03

Meant to say earlier AF arrived today, I thought we were in with a good chance this month too. Ah well at least I will be able to enjoy some champagne at my wedding!

ILovePonyo · 31/10/2011 21:16

Ooh jane at least you can have champers like you say, hope you are feeling ok about it.

deb agree that your pil are wankers, your mum is such a lovely lady like choc said, I hope she wasn't bothered by them and managed to ignore their rudeness? Feel really pissed off for you and your mum actually Angry I still think you are famous Grin well I thought I'd seen you before anyway, you mut remind me of someone I know...

wandering whereabouts are you? We met in/near birmingham :)

reastie · 31/10/2011 21:22

Jane Sad to AF but at least you won't be all sicky for your wedding. Maybe it will be a honeymoon baby (which is what alice has been called several times despite the fact she was conceived 3 months after our honeymoon!)

Just watching apprentice - it's hilarious looking at all the teens trying to work out baby products

deb [sigh] at PILs. At least DH is seeing how awful they are. Can't believe how rude they are. Btw, I may have asked this before but my memory is terrible and I'm nosy but not as much as ponyo , what does DH do at all these fairs? Hmm . I'm assuming he sells stuff or makes stuff or organises things

ems 'twas a v boring pizza as I ran out of time. I just made pizza base in the bread maker on the pizza base setting and then put a bit of tomato puree then cheese on top. It seemed to go down well. I wonder if things like peppers, tuna, fresh basil, courgette etc might work as toppings, or you could get lots of veggies in by making the tomato sauce and pureeing it with loads of veggies in Hmm

tadjennyp · 31/10/2011 21:24

Hello, have tried to flick through the thread to catch up but didn't do too well. The meet-up went really well and you are all gorgeous (and the babies too!); Emski's back at work and is doing well; Wandering has come back to the fold and there has been much discussion of wedding songs. Is this right? Sorry if I have missed out any news.

Had a busy weekend here. My cousin came down and we went out for a few drinks on Friday night; we were at dh's boss' house for dinner on Friday night; went to a Halloween festival Sunday afternoon and to one of Anna's friends' houses for a party in the evening. Feel really run down now and even have a lump on my eyeball. Shock A & E are quite excited about Halloween and S is practising his angry scream. Grin Hope all the trick or treaters have gone home now and bedtime is going well. x

reastie · 31/10/2011 21:24

oh and just to add ems she also had homemade butternut squash and sweet potato soup and then mashed banana for her tea in addition to the pizza to get lots of good stuff in her

wigglesrock · 31/10/2011 21:25

debka Angry at your pils - I like your Mum and I haven't even met her. Do the bare minimum with regards to them, its what I do with bil when I can bear to be in his company. I hate the way he talks to his Mum and rudeness on that scale really irritates me - and you wouldn't like me when I'm angry Envy ----> supposed to be Incredible Hulk impression - well it is Halloween!

ponyo how is As throat?

jane I know platitudes are worth their weight in shite, but it will happen, I just know it and I have spoken Grin, the wedding is probably adding lots of extra stress at the minute xxx

Looks like all our trick or treaters have been and gone or as Sofia called them today trickletreaters Grin and also a bit icky! I am eyeing up the mini Crunchies.

Guess what? yes I've put up a few more photos - what can I say I don't have lots of real life friends Grin

janedoe25 · 31/10/2011 21:39

wiggles I love your logic! fab pictures of the girls, Anna looks so big.

Right I'm off top bed now, night all Smile.

WanderingSheep · 31/10/2011 21:41

I've been munching on the left over mini bags of Harribo horror mix!

Wiggles aww! You've put a few other pictures up since the last time Iooked too. Your girls are lovely, look at Anna's huge blue eyes! She's so cute. She looks a lot like you from what I can see.

Grin at trickletreaters!

Ponyo I'm in Lancashire.

I need to put some pics of my girly on my profile, the ones that are on already were taken when she was about 3 months old! Shock

WanderingSheep · 31/10/2011 21:43

Jane you have so much to think about at the mo, with the wedding and everything. I can only repeat what Wiggles has already said.

tadjennyp · 31/10/2011 21:45

Love all the new photos. Smile

wigglesrock · 31/10/2011 21:53

WanderingSheep people who don't see Anna that often always say she's the double of Mr W but I can't see it! She looks like my sister at the same age, I have a photo of me and my sister and its like looking at Olivia and Anna without the dodgy matching 70s outfits Grin

americanexpat · 01/11/2011 10:56

reastie - how are you feeling? Have you phoned the HV yet? L has a feed when he wakes up then I generally try to give him real food whenever he's hungry during the day and top him up with milk (breast or bottle) when he wants it. Right now, he's having 3 meals and 2 snacks.

deb - what is it with the PILs on this thread? I can't believe (well, I can) how rude they are.

We had 1 trickletreater Grin this year and she seemed confused when I handed her the chocolate - maybe you all do it differently here? Also have put up a photo of L in his costume.

reastie · 01/11/2011 12:56

american love the outfit Grin is it glow in the dark?

Just got back from baby sensory. We had a party this morning Grin and then I went and bought the puddings for the christening on sunday from a local home made frozen food shop (I know I should make them but I just can't be bothered don't have time). Also took a detour trip to jojo maman bebe but I resisted and came home empty handed (besides from 2 rather large cheesecakes and tarts)

I haven't rung hv yet. I feel really guilty as I saw her a few weeks ago and asked how I was doing and I didn't tell her about pnd worries. I just couldn't pluck up courage to tell her how rubbish I was feeling and now I feel bad like she'll wonder why I didn't tell her before when I saw her.

No trick or treaters here last night. Just as well as we had nothing aside from my fruit bars to offer them.

tad I always Grin how you say A&E all the time as I always do a double take and think of the A&E hospital department, no matter how many times I think to myself I'll remember next time
