Hello everyone!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
chocoroo · 30/10/2011 10:04

Hello all,

Thanks for putting the pics up ledkr. For those of you wondering who is who, I am in a blue coat and jeans and I think R is trying to pull one of the other babies over!

I haven't caught up properly as have a nasty ear infection so everything is a bit wonky here. But glad you had a good party wiggles and I'd like to shush those of you discussing all your bathrooms. We only have one. My PIL are desperate for us to get another though too borg.

jane I like your song choices, my friend's have had All You Need Is Love, and Signed, Sealed, Delivered as the song to walk back down the aisle too. I would have the University challenge music (bit of a joke for me and DP) or the music from the rugby World Cup (which I think is actually Jupiter in the Planet Suite and the music to I Vow To Thee My Country). I think I was The Wannadies "You and Me Song" for our first dance. I'd like Take That "Rule The World" but DP would rathe chop his own balls off than dance anyway, let alone to Take That!

chocoroo · 30/10/2011 10:07

Oh. Or maybe I'd have something by The Arcade Fire. You've got me thinking now.

emski Good luck with work, I bet you love it in no time!

janedoe25 · 30/10/2011 10:50

choco i hope your ear feels better soon. I had thought of All you need is love forwalking back up the aisle. First dance will be either of the two mentioned depends what his lordship decides.
Sorry reastie and needto but I haven't heard of your song choices Blush.

emski Im sorry ou are feeling rubbish about going back to work, like you say though in a few weeks you will be wondering what the fuss was for.

Grin.

byronicheroine · 30/10/2011 11:45

Glad the meetup went well and you even got some sun.

Our day out was lovely, walked around a Venetian walled town, ate too much and went to a famous place for gelato icecream! Mmm.

jane I wanted all you need is live, then bloody kiera knightley went and did it in love actually still like the film tho How about Nothing Else Matters, Iris or Falling Slowly by that bloke from the Frames? Ooh or Dice by Finley Quaye? Few of my faves :)

Today we are picking up new for us not proper new sofas. I loathe the one we have and cursed it all through pregnancy, especially at the end! Can't wait to sit comfortably- not that I get to do much sitting around these days, who thought it would be a good idea to encourage crawling? We have zn attack of the 'my dad dressed me's here today, all brown cords and too tight jumpers.....

Deliaskis · 30/10/2011 12:28

Yay can see pics now thanks reastie and also looking at meet-up pics - looks like a lovely day.

americanexpat · 30/10/2011 12:35

emski - I hope your return to work goes well. I think the transition is the hardest part, I'm sure it'll be fine once you both get settled.

jane - sorry, no advice for a song. We had a very non-traditional wedding. My dad insisted we have a minister and DH and I are both atheist, so we had a woman in long robes from Church of the Earth who was technically an ordained minister. [hgrin] Pagan hand-fasting and the whole nine yards.

wiggles - hope you're enjoying the pub. [hgrin]

reastie - [henvy] at your posh dump.

I think L is teething. He was really difficult to settle last night, had to give him some paracetamol as he kept waking, and won't settle for naps during the day. I hope teeth 7 and 8 come through quickly, I don't know how much more I can take. He's always been an all-or-nothing baby and all 4 top teeth came through in about a week. I hope we get a break soon.

WanderingSheep · 30/10/2011 12:49

Hi everyone

I'm [henvy] of your meet up the pics look lovely, although I can't make out faces. Glad you had a good day!

We have only one bathroom Envy and it's upstairs!

Jane we didn't have a first dance but I think if we did I would have liked The You and Me Song by The Wannadies or Nothing Else Matters by Metallica... Or for something really different you could start of with a slow song and then have it change with a scratching noise to Thriller! Make all the wedding party do the dance! No? Has that been done before? Damn! [hwink]

WanderingSheep · 30/10/2011 12:55

American hope they come through quickly! L seems to struggle with her teeth but we had no problems with DD1. We just seemed to notice that she had teeth once they were through! I keep having to take L into bed with us, which I don't like doing as it frightens me and I don't sleep well anyway.

WanderingSheep · 30/10/2011 12:57

Meant to add, Good Luck for tomorrow Emski! Noah will be fine. Hope your day at work goes well.

ledkr · 30/10/2011 14:11

AW ems im going to be the same. Are you full time?Im only going back 2 days for now so will be ok,could you go part time?Good luck.

jane we had Adele "to make you feel my love" at our small wedding,it wasnt popular then but made everyone cry.We then had our fav song cure and the cause by fish go deep-our old clubbing fav,so it made everyone laugh as is quite funky.

wandering nice that you are back and posting like a banshee.

Well Dilly slept until 8.15-old time so have no idea what she will do later.
I was awake at 12.30 with a gall stone attack.Antone thats ever suffered will know how painfull it is.I was screaming for my Mum Shock nearly went to hospital but started vomiting which eases it.I had a slight one on Fri after the meetup too. Im off to gp tomorrow for a referal as it needs to come out.
Am on strictly no fat or spice untill then which is good for the old waist line i guess.

Emski76 · 30/10/2011 14:57

Ledkr, I only ok three days a week, so I only have a short week! Thanx for the good luck wishes gals.
Hope time gall stones get sorted, sounds bloody painful.p

We didn't have a big wedding do, as only had 6 people at our wedding, so never had a first dance.

Expat, L has six teeth?! Wow! Sounds like he's trying to get it over and done with!

janedoe25 · 30/10/2011 15:08

ledkr gall stones sound horrid! Make you feel my love makes me everytime i hear it now - I used sing it to Zoe when she was a bump.

We have finally decided on The remote part by Idlewild, it is "our song" we both realised we were in love at an Idlewild concert and he shouted whispered "I love you" into my ear whilst they were playing that song. Sorry for the mush overload Grin

WeAreBorg · 30/10/2011 15:42

jane I do usually puke a bit in my mouth when people mention "their song" but I'll let you off, it's a sweet story Grin. Annoyingly I can't remember what our first song was meant to be Blush, we had picked a queens of the stone age one but aargh can't recall what it was. Everlong was another choice, we had an instrumental of nothing else matters for the register signing bit. I walked into something quite sensible by vivaldi (I have forgotten what that was too, what is wrong with me?), but walked out to star wars [nerd emoticon].

ledkr oh you poor thing, that's a nightmare, hope you get a quick appointment and surgery. How awful for that young lad, no wonder you left. Although I'd much rather have people like you looking after me, I think you should go back and sort them all out.

expat well at least he should be over teething soon!

wandering nate sometimes sleeps on top of me, I woke this morning and he was balancing on all fours on my chest just staring at me. He has massive eyes and they were really close up, I was a bit spooked.

emski I left N for the first time last week, I really don't want to do it again but have to work from next week, it's so upsetting isn't it?

reastie your house sounds lovely, I'm imagining you in a ramshackle old pile in the country, lovely log fires and antiques, you wafting around in your nightie with your smelling salts. And a butler. You must have a butler. I am so jealous of your posh tip, anything nice round here gets pinched by gypsies.

byronic oh your day sounds lovely, I want gelato.

ponyo I really did think N would be last with his teeth but you have beaten us, he definitely has a second now, doesn't seem to bother him at all but hard to tell with a hyperactive chronic non-sleeper

Grin at you all with your 3 bathrooms and whinging about cleaning them all. Are your diamond shoes too tight as well ladies? Kidding. A bit.

I can't see anyone properly in the photos, can you make them bigger ledkr?

ledkr · 30/10/2011 16:28

how do i make them bigger borgy eh? Grin Dilly once woke me by putting her eye area right on my face.
I was driving and heard the Adele song for first time, the words were just how i felt lovely it was Zoes song too.

NeedToCreepZZZ · 30/10/2011 17:01

ems and Borg good luck for tomorrow, you'll be fine I'm sure.

ledkr ouch to the horrible gallstones, get them out quickly woman! Must be such a nightmare, is there anything else, other than avoiding spice and fat, to ease the symptoms?

Borg that's how I imagine reastie towers too!

NeedToCreepZZZ · 30/10/2011 17:09
ILovePonyo · 30/10/2011 17:14

Hello all, well dds mouth is looking better after a day of meds so thats a relief. She's just woken up from a nap and is being grumpy, think she could have slept for longer but we wouldn't let her

I am loving hearing everyones wedding songs, even though I don't know half of them Blush i think "our song" is lets stay together but doubt dp would know that Grin

jane I am going to google that idlewild song in a minute, would you be impressed if I told you I have painted their drummers nails with sparkly nail polish?! That was back in my drunken teenage days...

emski work tomo Shock good luck, it'll be so lovely when you see N at the end of the day.

ledkr gall stones sound horrible, ugh poor you :(

Right I'm going to go and post properly later b'cos dp is being all distracting Hmm and trying to talk to me Hmm

Grannyapple · 30/10/2011 19:23

Hi ladies...spent this afternoon batch cooking for my return to work on Tuesday...should be interesting going back..just hoping the days fly by!

jane brilliant song choices for the wedding of the year! ponyo our first dances were van Morrison with lately & then al green's let's stay together...still get goosebumps & a tad emotional when I hear it (saddo!). Then we had a ceilidh Smile. Was funny watching lots of English folk up dancing when they don't normally Grin. Al green was dh's choice Smile. But jane Ach, you'll be up there with the rest of them when the loch lomond song comes on...too hard to resist Grin

I too have 3 loos but have thankfully managed to avoid the cleaning of them the past 2 weeks...dh did them, thank god!

emski good luck for tomorrow, keen to hear how it all went. Have to say, we're still discussing the logistics of getting N up & out the door!

N been a bit of a weirdo today...only slept for 1 hour all day...wtf?!?! Hoping he's not teething again..was hoping he got his first 6 out of the way so no more till he's at least 1!

janedoe25 · 30/10/2011 20:04

ponyo I am very, very jelous Idlewild are my fav band!

borg and emski good luck with work, but you won't need it.

WanderingSheep · 30/10/2011 20:13

Urgh, ponyo talk to you? Why do DPs do that!? Mine does it while I'm MNing doing important things. Glad that your DD is getting better with her meds [hsmile]

Ledkr gallstones sound awful, poor you!

Anyone else watching the X factor results? I reckon that The Risk will go this week [hhmm]

Every bastard time Johnny Robinson comes on DD1 says, "ooh look, Mummy, he has a nose like yours doesn't he!?" [hangry]

ILovePonyo · 30/10/2011 20:21

Ahh granny thats nice about the Al Green song :) Hope N sleeps tonight - he has 6 teeth already?! A is still showing no signs Hmm We are also trying to work out how we are going to manage to get going in the mornings and get A to nursery on time - its too daunting though so I'll just ignore it instead Grin

Borg Grin at N and his big eyes, have you remembered your songs yet?! I am being nosy interested.

Its taken me half an hour to write this so sure I've cross posted with people, am so tired so off to bed bods soon. Oh and I am jel of anyone with more than one bathroom, when I stay at my mums I call it my hotel room b'cos the room I sleep in has an en suite - makes me feel all posh Wink

ILovePonyo · 30/10/2011 20:25

Ah yes x posts, fwiw jane idlewild were lovely except Roddy who fancied himself as a bit of a tortured artiste if you know what I mean, much too cool to talk to idiotic teenagers like me haha.

wandering the talking thing is so annoying isn't it, we are watching hugh fernley-whatever and dp is very impressed at all the curry making going on, he keeps saying "look at that" "ooh look" I am mn-ing! Is johnny the benefits cheat?!

wigglesrock · 30/10/2011 20:37

Well I'm all partied out, never mind Olivia (who conked out at 7pm this evening), although she stumbled into our room at 3.30am and said "can I go down and play with my new toys?" Not sure exactly how I phrased the response but it was a negative Grin

ponyo glad A is feeling better.

emski good luck for tomorrow xx, I go back next Monday.

ledkr hope you get sorted out re gallstones, take care.

ledkr · 30/10/2011 20:54

wandering is your nose like that? Grin bloody kids.I remember snapping at Ella when she made yet another comment re my fat belly when she was about 4.The next time i was naked she went to comment again and remembered at the last minute so ended up saying "you've got a lovely fairy belly" Hmm

I cant believe everyone is going back to work,it seems five minute ago that we had all that time off in front of us Sad

grannyim struggling with the whole getting out the door thing too,at least at first ill be leaving her at home with dh. I cant believe i was ever a single Mum of 4 who worked full time shifts and went out twice a week boogieing.

Thanks re the gallstones.Ive been really carefull what i ate today no fat or spice.Ive just eaten a fairly big roast but it wasnt fatty at all but im a bit freaked out as i did read that big meals may bring it on.I honestly have never felt pain like it,i was moving around the room like when your in labour and the pain doesnt peak it keeps getting worse and in between your being sick over and over.Im praying it doesnt happen tonight.

Good luck all you returners.Try and let us know how it goes xx
