Hello everyone!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
reastie · 30/10/2011 21:03

ponyo you know you are going to elaborate please on just how you ended up painting the sparkly nail varnish

ledkr poor you Shock . Hope you can get it sorted soon

borg oh yes, we have a housekeeper, butler, chauffeur, and cook I wish . Our house is very ordinary indeed afraid - none of your 3 bathroom nonsense

needto I know that Lisa Hannigan song Grin . I love cold water - DH says it's depressing but I say it's atmospheric and emotional - the bit Lisa sings is the best bit in the song Grin

ems thinking of you. I'll be exactly the same - so if you can do it so can I Confused

wiggles glad the partying is over (I think). Can we have some piccies please, esp of the girls with the amazing kitchen?

americanexpat · 30/10/2011 21:09

needto - [hgrin] I didn't notice it until you said something. I expect reastie's would be posh (don't shatter my illusions, reastie).

Ditto Borg on everyone whinging about cleaning their bathrooms. We have one and if anyone complains about sharing, they can fuck off to a hotel. Sure, I whinge about having only one but I'm paying for it. [hgrin]

ledkr - fingers crossed for no gall stones tonight. A friend had them and it was absolutely horrible. Sad

WanderingSheep · 30/10/2011 21:12

Ponyo Yup, that's Johnny [hsad]

Wiggles LOL at Olivia! Hope she's had a lovely weekend! Did she turn 4 this time?

Lottie has 5 teeth - 2 bottom front, 1 top right front and the two lateral incisors. She reminded me a bit of a vampire for a bit as it's taken a while for the front top teeth to come through, she just had the lateral incisors. I can now see the left front tooth so I imagine she'll have 6 soon.

Ponyo I think they look gorgeous with no teeth! I love their gummy grins so treasure the fact that A hasn't got any yet [hsmile] take lots of pictures of her with her gummy smile as it won't be that way for long.

Have we got many crawlers on the thread? L isn't mobile yet. She tries for a little while but then cries! She can sometimes push herself backwards and then turn around to what she wants but most of the time just whinges and whines!

WanderingSheep · 30/10/2011 21:19

Ledkr of course my nose isn't like that I fear mine's worse! I'm beyootiful!

WanderingSheep · 30/10/2011 21:22

In fact I said to DD, "well, when you're older, you'll probably have a nose like mine," and she started to cry! [hshock]

Now, when I post you'll all be picturing Gollum, won't you? [hsad]

wigglesrock · 30/10/2011 21:24

WanderingSheep yup, my little girl is 4 [sob], although her birthday celebrations really tired her out - she was soooo over the dressing up in Halloween costumes by about 4pm yesterday Grin

There were face painters, balloon modellers etc at the bar today, Sofia loved it, Olivia asked for her chips for about 10 mins and then just wanted cuddles.

Anna is crawling and pulling herself up on any dangerous object anything she can find. She has 2 bottom teeth and a top one coming through. Sofias' baby teeth are sort of falling out in the same pattern that Annas are coming through Grin

byronicheroine · 30/10/2011 21:58

wiggles poor you this morning, I don't think we managed 3.30 am as kids even for Christmas. But a very happy birthday to O, glad she liked the prezzie

American your wedding sounds great Grin and the only way I'd be tricked persuaded at the moment

jane and ponyo I too have an idlewild story- they filmed one of their videos near where I grew up and I helped out. My younger talented prettier drama-student sister was in it tho Envy

Borg you've left us far behind on the teeth front too (front teeth??!) as there's still no fangs here, not even for Halloween [hgrin]

ledkr had to laugh at fairy belly, she sounds like such a character (just like her mum then)

ems sorry about work, I have no practical tips I'm afraid, only just managed to get myself out the door in The Before Times. Sure you are much more organised than me tho

needto spying on reastie eh? Eh? More goss from The Towers, please!

wandering crawling here, and pulling up- but don't encourage it- it's exhausting (and guilt-inducing from the amount of trouble they seem to get themselves into- or maybe that's just me?!)

Just back from a Halloween party where we dressed K up as a sumo wrestler- White sleepsuit, extra nappy, material 'belt' and complete with drawn on fat and nipples. Was hilarious!

Emski76 · 31/10/2011 06:43

Byron, sumo wrestler, hilarious! That has cheered me up on this gloomy morning!
I'm really organised with getting out the house in the morning as I've had to do it with Ben for 3 years. I get clothes ready the night before, bags packed, my lunch ready. To be honest it's not to bad with a baby, it's when they get old enough to argue that it gets tough!

Wandering, Noah has been crawling for about 6 weeks and pulling himself up on everything for about 2 weeks. It's lovely but we've had so many bumps.

Wiggles, sounds like the birthday weekend went well!

Well, today's the day. I sobbed last night when dh brought Noah home from in laws, but feel better this morning, I've promised myself no tears. I am strangely excited about work tho! Will try to pop on at lunchtime to catch up.

reastie · 31/10/2011 07:25

ems shall be thinking of you today and hope it all goes well. I'm thinking (or at least hoping) it's the thought of returning that's worse than when you're actually there IYKWIM Confused

deb I see you've been very quiet - have you gone into hiding now your true celeb identity has been revealed Grin ?

byron Grin to sumo wrestler

We have 2 teeth here now I think. Well, we have one for sure but I'm not 100% if the other one has properly come through yet

wandering Grin to the vampire look. Alice is on the move and pulling up, I'm not quite sure I'd class it as proper crawling though, more dragging herself around

Off shopping for a few bits today - must NOT spend too much

janedoe25 · 31/10/2011 07:39

emski hope your day at work goes well.

byron Grin at sumo K, we need to to see pictures!

american df is working/staying in Dundee this week, I told him to wave to you.Grin

I'm off to the doctors this morning to get my scabby finger fixed. I only have kids for an hour this morning yay no school pick up (thank you halloween).

Hope everyone has a good day, I'm off to have a coffee before the sprogs arrive.

ledkr · 31/10/2011 08:11

Bless you ems im sure you will be fine.
I can share my secret. I get EVERYTHING ready the night before-even now. Clothes in piles, packed lunches in fridge, shoes by door, bags packed literally everything. If im out with d i even put the pram in the car.Ella now gets everything done too, puts her uniform out and does homework on a Friday night Shock Im still late everywhere tho Grin

No horror stories of the clock chnages causing probs yet then? I stuck to the old time and managed to get Dills to bed for 7.30 new time and she woke at 6 new time.Hope that she will get a bit later as she was very tired.
Its ironic that she slept late for the first time on the day the clocks went back.

chocoroo · 31/10/2011 08:13

Morning all,

Hope you're all happy and jolly on this miserable
Monday morning. I got up at the right time for going to work this morning as a practice run. I haven't managed to get dressed properly, get the baby dressed or have a wash but we're up!

emski I hope today goes well. Was borg back today too or are you another 7th November-er?

Welcome back wandering hope you stick around - we now have actual proof that most of us aren't weirdo's in real life. It's probably best if you believe mizk 's discriptions of those of us who met up rather than ledkr though.

mizk I hope the hangover was "relieved" by the sleepover. Has everyone had trick or treaters over the weekend? We've had none!

jane Glad the dress fitting went well, I'm so Envy I want to get married!

byronic K's outfit sounds awesome. I am a total failure at fancy dress, I'm useless!

reastie Could you please find me some decent black work trousers while you're out? I've tried Oasis, Warehouse, Topshop, Debrnhams, Next and Gap. None of them have a pair of fairly plain, washable black trousers that fit me well. Looks like I'm between sizes but booooooo!

wiggles Glad the pub celebration went well.

ledkr I got told I had a flat belly by a three year old. I've not spoken to her since!

ponyo I missed that A was ill. Hope she's better soon!

Right, have to go as having a new boiler fitted today and tomorrow (DP's birthday present from his mum and dad). I'm still feeling crap with an ear infection too - stabbing pains and deafness. Anyone got any tricks as it seems R has no sympathy!

americanexpat · 31/10/2011 08:57

jane - what does he do? Not a stalker, I swear

choco - new boiler! This passes for excitement in our lives these days, doesn't it?

wandering - L is crawling and pulling up on everything. Nothing is safe anymore.

L managed until a half hour before his regular bedtime, will try the other half hour tonight.

janedoe25 · 31/10/2011 09:10

american he is a tele-communications electrician, he installs and maintains the the electrics for mobile phone masts.

chocco Happy new boiler!

americanexpat · 31/10/2011 09:51

[scours the city looking for Mr jane] [hgrin]

ILovePonyo · 31/10/2011 12:16

Hello all, well A is at nursery to have her lunch there and a play, am picking her up in an hour. It feels weird being at home without her here! She was fine when I dropped her off, seemed v interested in the other babies :)

wandering A may not have any teeth but she is very good at crawling! (to places I don't want her to be) Agree about the gummy smiles, I have slacked off with the photo taking recently so am deffo going to take some more soon.

reastie the nail polish story isn't that interesting to be honest, friends in bands and stuff like that who ended up playing with Idlewild, bit dull isn't it Blush Enjoy the shopping!

byronic sumo westler baby is brilliant! Bet he looked so cute. Is it just me and thee in the no teeth club now then?

emski hope today is going well for you and you're feeling ok, also hope the rest of the day goes quickly!

choco pleased you got the tv and internet sorted, new boiler woo! Really feel for you with the ear infection, they are so painful arent they :(

ledkr seems that we have all managed the clock change havn't we? phew.

wiggles Grin at O wanting to play at 3.30, very funny, well done getting through the weekend!

Right am going to clean a bit and have another cup of tea in peace before picking up A Grin Only another week before back to work for a lot of us now!

Emski76 · 31/10/2011 12:54

Hi all,
Well ive survived so far! Just eaten my lunch and playing on the computer now. Only three and a half hours to go! Its actually really good to be back and I don't feel like Ive been away! Noah went to nursery brilliantly this morning and I even managed to get to work 15 minutes early!!
All of you worried/dreading going back to work......its fine, honestly! Knowing that Noah is so happy at nursery is brilliant. I just have to try not to think about him or I well up!!

No problems here with clock change, Noah was up at 6 yesterday, and managed to wait for breakfast until 7 (8 old time).

Choco, sorry your poorly. Ear infections have got to be one of the most painful things.....apart from childbirth of course! Well done on getting up for work, I think you need to work on getting ready though :-)

Well ,best go, piles of paperwork await me.....better than a smelly nappy - but only just. Have good afternoons

reastie · 31/10/2011 13:14

Just popped on to see how ems is doing and so glad it's going well ems. One of my worries about going back to work is the kids will play me up and I'll burst into tears Blush

choc sympathies re: ear infection - I get them alot and they are so miserable. No advice but hopefully it'll start getting better soon. Hope the boiler men arn't driving you mad yet. Didn't manage to find you a pair of work trousers while out shopping afraid but I did find myself a coat Blush

ledkr hope the gall stones didn't play up last night

ponyo enjoy your time to yourself Grin

jane what did the doc say re: scabby finger? Did you get betnovate for it?

WanderingSheep · 31/10/2011 14:11

Happy Halloween all! Anyone dressing up tonight? I'm not but DD1 is being a devil (No change there then) and DD2 is being a pumpkin for trick or treating.

Emski glad your day is going well! I imagine that it will get easier now that the first day is over.

Good luck to anyone who is going back to work in the next few weeks!

Choco no weirdos? I feel I don't belong on this thread then Wink Have you been to the doctors with your ear infection? If not, get down there. Poor you, ear ache is a horrid pain! I had one the other week when I was full of a cold and took one of those Beechams cold and flu all in one tablets and it just went. I'm not sure whether they would work for an infection though.

Four4me · 31/10/2011 14:18

emski great news that work is going so well.

choc poor you, ear infections are awful. Thomas is on his fifth bottle of antibiotics and has just got some eye drops prescribed for his ear!

Last day of half term, we've been on a long slow (imogen 2 wanted to walk Grin) walk this morning. Now both babies are snoozing and the big boys are den making in the clothes racks!

ledkr · 31/10/2011 14:28

I dressed up last year but cant be arsed this year,Ella is having a little party for 3 friends then out for some trick or treating, its good here cos the locals play the game and the kids get lots.Me and my friend will partake of a few bevs too, last yr i couldnt cos i was pg.
Im doing hotdogs jackets and other treats but cant eat any of it cos of the stones!

WanderingSheep · 31/10/2011 14:48

Sounds good Ledkr hope Ella enjoys her party!

People seem to get really into it round here too. Last year a house round the corner had crime scene tape all around the house and severed limbs in the gravel. By the door they'd put gravestones and there was a scary witch mannequin by the door with glowing eyes and when you got to the door there was a smoke machine that blew out smoke when you went near! The kids were too scared to knock, ha ha!

Hope you're getting a bit of peace while they sleep 4for. Hope the boys enjoy their last day of the holiday! DD1 has gone back today, bit crap as it's Halloween but hey ho!

I'd best go and wake grotso Lotso up ready for the school run!

janedoe25 · 31/10/2011 16:01

Hope ella enjoys her wee party ledkr. I am a halloween scrooge this year, I will be retreating to my bedroom as soon as it gets dark I am avoiding any guisers at the door! [meany ols scrooge emoticon].

reastie I have a fungal infection on my finger Confused I have Daktacort cream for it.

emski I'm glad your day is going well.

four4me poor T, is he feeling better?

40Weeks · 31/10/2011 18:01

Hi everyone

Hope you are all well. Just in the middle of posting as ds2 started jumping Ll over me and lost it!

Anyway, was saying that the meet up photo looked fab. I haven't posted for a few days but have been lurking - am glad you all had fun but slightly disappointed that there were no weirdos! Did we work out how deb the sleb is famous??

ems glad work went well, what a relief for you. And N is happy at nursery, that's great.

ponyo is it u with the ear infection? Sorry, on phone so can't scroll up to see and have flipped the thread. Hope you get sorted soon, must be very sore.

Jane what song have you opted for? How is the finger?

reastie how are you, did you start the meds?

wiggles glad the birthday celebrations went well, the family day sounds fun, the 3.30 wake up call less so

Have fun tonight ledkr with the vino/Halloween combo

I am still poorly and now have a sinus infection as well as chest so feeling very sorry for myself and Mikey is STILL not sleeping through. This makes me v grumpy. Am being climbed on again. Think it might be bath time.

hellooooooo

reastie · 31/10/2011 18:34

Does anyone else think that everyone on the meet up was actually complete weirdos and deb the sleb is the only normal one and now she's met the weidos she's never coming back to the thread? Hmm Grin Wink

40 I think it's choc with the ear infection. Boo to you still being poorly - you've been through it recently on the illness front haven't you. I haven't started the meds yet Blush

jane I'm the same as you re: halloween - we hide upstairs. We've only ever had one trick or treater to our house - they don't seem to go for it much in this village. wandering I was Grin at the severed limbs and crime tape everywhere

ems Are you are shattered as I think you are tonight?

Alice had her first taste of pizza tonight and loved it Grin I hasten to add it was homemade pizza

A milk/food question - midmorning do people give their LOs a milk feed or a solids feed to keep them going till lunch? I feed alice at about 7 with milk, breakfast cereal at 8ish and then lunch about 12:30ish. She usually has a milk feed at about 10:30 to keep her going but I'm wondering whether to swap it for a few rice cakes or a yoghurt or something. Does anyone else do this? How much should I give her? I don't want her to ruin her lunch appetite!
