ReastieHorrorShow · 07/10/2011 20:49

ledkr Angry face to dilly for her sleepng habits today. Hope she settles quick.

Well, cc update, she went to bed at 7:15 and went to sleep really quickly. She woke up 20 mins later so we got her up and had some snuggles and reading in my bed and just put her back to bed now with the musical light show playing. It's only been 5 mins but so far so quiet. She looed so excited to have the lightshow as she hasn't had it for ages so she could just be watching that. Hope she gets herself to sleep quickly . I'm sure I'll be back to moan if she doesn't Grin . She has a runny nose today so we arn't sure if she has a cold or this is a teething cold Hmm

ReastieHorrorShow · 07/10/2011 20:57

xposted deb are you in a time warp? Hmm I saw the final a week ago at least

ponyo alice just wants to eat any food I have. I went out to lunch with a friend with a 1yo and she said she can'teat at all when holding her dd as she just tries to swipe her food from her.

CC update 2 - she's asleep - no crying at all Shock Shock . Must be the lightshow as she was crying until I put it on. Hope it's not novelty value and this lasts. Plus I hope she's not awake in ten mins expecting the lightshow to be on Hmm

It's soooooooooo cold here. Still no heating on. We are stoic Grin . I've got a fire ready to light downstairs if needed over the week end. SO excited as haven't managed to have a proper fire in this house since we moved and didn't have a fireplace at old house Grin

deadka · 07/10/2011 20:57

reastie all sounds positive, well done for a) sticking with it and b) following your instincts. You are a cracking mother. :)

OP posts:
deadka · 07/10/2011 21:02

reastie waited till my mum got back from hols so we could watch it together. [excited] about A Grin

You're proper stoics with no heating still, our underfloor heating has been on quite a lot already, is lovely when I sit on the floor to do S's nappy!

ReastieHorrorShow · 07/10/2011 21:02

ha deb I spoke too soon. SHe's awake and crying again Shock . So, do I turn the lightshow back on or leave her?

deadka · 07/10/2011 21:04

Ah buggeration. I'd leave her but I don't know her, obv. You don't want to be switching the bloody thing back on every 20mins throughout the night.

OP posts:
ReastieHorrorShow · 07/10/2011 21:16

well, she's asleep again on her own Grin . Please let her get the hang of this please let her get the hang of this

janedoe25 · 07/10/2011 21:17

Ah reastie I was getting excited for you there, come on Alice go to sleep!

Im loving all the name changes, but I can't think of one for myself.
I had a relaxing day, df cooked a lovely dinner and now he is in the pub. I'm having an early night in prep for my big day/night tomorrow, the excitement is bubbling. Grin

Right I'm signing off now, hope you all have a fab weekend.Smile

chocoBOO · 07/10/2011 21:27

reastie Good work with the cc. Could you send the rst of us some luck please? R went off as usual but woke up coughing 20m later. She is now climbing around her cot like a total monkey. She is properly awake.

ledkr R tried to have a 6pm nap yesterday. I plonked her in front of CBeebies.

Jane Have a lovely, lovely time tomorrow. I'll be raising a glass to you.

deadka Am jealous of your underfloor heating. One day...

ponyo Nature centre is really lovely. It's part of Canon Hill Park. The entrance is just on the Pershore Road side. They have lemurs and emu's and bears and tigers. Or something like that anyway. The lemur once escaped to my mates front garden. She gave it a mouldy peach. And if you're at a loose end in Brum let me know!

Right. Am drinking champagne to toast DP's best mate who has found out his fiancee is expecting twins. They went for the 12 week scan and whoops, there's two babies!

Given R is crying again though I'm not sure the champagne is the best idea...

wigglesmonsterock · 07/10/2011 21:30

jane you have an absolutely fantastic time - you hear, lots of drinking, dancing and drunken singing.

reastie all rooting for you and A.

Ponyo Anna isn't too bad around me eating, but she is wild around the girls, they can't have anything but she wants it Grin

Mr W was supposed to have today off but got called in to court at late notice, of course I had already promised the girls that we would take them to soft hell play, so mug here had to take all 3 of them on my own, Mr W met us there after about 35 mins Shock.

40Weeks · 07/10/2011 21:37

Cripes you chatty lot! I have tried to catch up properly but was taking soooo long.

Jane have a BRILL night tomorrow, just what you need after your week. So sorry they didn't mention Zoe at the funeral, esp as her and granny would have met up by that point! Probably just didn't know what to do for the best but should have spoken to you first.

reastie hope A settles for you, are you still bfing? Any chance she could be hungry? Sometimes if M was very tired he wouldn't feed enough to stay asleep. I wonder why she is waking at 8 - is she a Corrie fan? Wink could you try putting her down a bit later and seeing if she goes for longer?

mizk what is this sexlife you speak off? Rings a bell but can't quite place it....I have considered the coil but can't really see the feckin point tbh.

deb was it the GBBO final you watched? Me too, just now on catch up! I am glad she won, I did like her. God am glad it's over though, made me so hungry! I lost 2.5lbs on SW, bit disappointed as my first week but better than nowt. Went to Spin today to help a bit....

Mikey is waking in the night too after going til 5 and then off again tip 7/7.30...plus the other two woke last night. Am just so shattered.

Oh and DH and I had a 'discussion' last night and apparently my life involves lots of sitting on my arse watching Friends....WTF? Nearly stabbed him Wink apparently I can come and go as I please whereas he HAS to go to work each day. Fuckin hell I nearly had a stroke!

I know there's lots more I have forgotten, so sorry. Must try harder.

ReastieHorrorShow · 07/10/2011 22:10

Is anyone up and on here? alice woken up and really snotty and moany. i'm feeding her now as i took pity on her and also gave calpol. she must either have a cold or be teething, but in either case is it fair to do cc on her like this or should i crack on as we were in the night?

ReastieHorrorShow · 07/10/2011 22:26

she's screaming in her cot now and I have no idea whether to take her out and cuddle her or whether to leave her cc style Confused . I put teething gel on her too just incase. arggghhhh

chocoBOO · 07/10/2011 22:28

Oh reastie I hope A has gone back off by now. I'm not sure if this is good advice but it sounds to me like A is teething - R was just the same before last weekends three teeth. I think if you've Calpol-ed I would try again with the CC. If she's still the same when the drugs have kicked in (30m?) then maybe rethink.

40 Why are DP's so daft. Mine also thinks I have the better deal. It's weeks like this when I can't wait to go back to work for five minutes peace!

wiggles I had my first soft play experience yesterday. It has to be said I enjoyed the opportunity to judge!

WeAreBorg · 07/10/2011 22:32

reastie i'm here but heading bedwards very soon, and TBH probably the last person anyone should ask for sleep advice! I know you're supposed to make sure they're well before you start CC but not sure what to do if you're in the middle. My gut is to go to her otherwise maybe in future if she is poorly she won't cry because she's been trained out of it?? But then you'll undo all the work you've done, aaargh. I would go to her but am hoping someone i.e. deadka comes along soon to offer better advice!

Who won the bake off I missed it?

40 weeks what!!! Spluttering with the ridiculousness of DHs comment.

jane have a wonderful time!

emski why are you feeling crap? Hope you are okay

ponyo I use the bbcgoodfood website for everything, they have a nice cauli cheese that N wolfed down

Bad news at our end, poor SIL is in HDU (high dependency unit) at hospital after emergency surgery. MIL says they are hoping she'll go to a normal ward in the next few days but she has a 2 week old baby Sad. It's bad enough being really ill but I just couldn't have been away from N when he was so tiny. I am really sad for her, she is trying to BF too so not sure what will happen with that, presume supply will stop??

Night night all

ReastieHorrorShow · 07/10/2011 22:36

she's still screaming Sad . choc I think I gave her the meds maybe 15/20 mins ago so nearly kicked in.

borg Shock to sil. hope she improves. Re bfing I know someone who was in hosp when bfing (lthough different situ) and her dd had to stay with her in hospital. Not sure if your SIL is up to feeding at all though. They might have expressing machines in the hospital she could use Hmm

still she screams, still not sure what to do and now have 2 differing opinions Confused

Bledkr · 08/10/2011 00:14

Im still up,sat on the stairs typing.Dilly like choccos baby went off as normal but woke at 10 crying sounding hoarse.I have given milk and tryied to cuddle her but she just fights me and kicks and moans.I have plonked her in her cot where she is crying feebly so hope she settles.
Have a great weekend our jane
borg that sounds bad, what is wrong? Supply make stop but sje should be able to get it going again.I had abig bleed after ds1 and was in hosp for ages,i put him on about a week later and supply was back by the next day.
40 Is he mad?Did he realise he was being a prat? My dh asked me the other week what i used to do when i lived on my own and didnt have him to help me Angry I looked at him coldly and said "oh,i used to have fun!" He said he knew he was wrong within seconds of saying it Grin

tadjennyp · 08/10/2011 00:47

I hope all the babies have gone off now and are also feeling better. I don't know about cc when they are ill. I think if they are suffering, they need you. I hope the calpol has sorted A reastie and that D has stayed asleep for you ledkr.

Have a fab weekend Jane!

Angry 40 - has he seen the error of his ways yet?

My coil cost me a fortune (well the insurance, anyway) and I haven't seen enough return on my investment yet. Wink Not likely to, when all 3 of them are up at various times in the night (and I don't mean dh there!) Grin Let's just say I need to buy shares in a coffee plantation.

I hope your SIL is ok borg. It must be scary for you all.

Hope you all have great weekends. We have a couple of kids' parties tomorrow and may hit up a pumpkin patch on Sunday. (I feel like I'm repeating myself, so apologies if I am boring you!)

Emski76 · 08/10/2011 06:28

Morning all! Noah slept through until 5.15 then moaned on and off until 6 and is now sat in our bed playing with a bottle of water.

Reastie, I really hope Alice settled for you, if she is teething though it may be worth taking the cc down a level. She's obviously learning to settle herself so you've done a fab job!

Ledkr, i hope D settled and you got a peaceful night too

Borg, I hope you sil in ok, it must have been so hard for her to leave her baby.

Why oh why can't our babies just sleep?! I can't remember any night wakings with Ben, we used to have to wake him at 7 each morning, and even when he was teething it was just a case of going in at night giving him calpol then going back to sleep!!

Was feeling a bit crap yesterday as think was just feeling at a loose end with the boys and hate not having anywhere to go and being stuck in the house. Called my sister at 8am yest to arrange to go to hers and ended up having a good day.

What are everyone's plans for the weekend?

deadka · 08/10/2011 06:48

Morning!

reastie I really hope things went ok for you last night. It's easy for me to say keep at it but it's not me with the crying baby :(

emski I know what you mean about feeling crap because you've nowhere to go. They end up just snapping at your heels don't they and the house slowly descends into chaos.

borg sorry to hear about your sil, what did she have surgery for? Any good hospital should do all they can to help her keep bfing I think. And JO won the bake off, we were so surprised, we almost discounted her but she really pulled it out of the hat. She definitely deserved to win.

choc the underfloor heating doesn't really heat the house properly- small rooms it's fab in but we have a massive lounge with huge windows and it just can't get warm enough. And OMG it is SO expensive. We pay £130 every month for electricity and the heating's not on for half the year Shock

40 has he ever tried to sit and watch Friends himself whilst looking after your 3? Hmm

Think we're off swimming this afternoon, me and my mum and the girls, Sunday we'll try and get to church.

Better go and get S, she's been chatting in her cot for ages!

OP posts:
40Weeks · 08/10/2011 07:11

Morning all

How did it go reastie ? I think you should go with your gut instinct, mine never resisted it this much it must be so hard for you. I would try putting her to bed at 8 instead to knock the waking habit on the head but you know her best. Good luck.

tadj Grin at the 'return on investment] have fun at the pumpkin patch

We are all watching the rugby, Mikey has his daddy wrapped round his finger and is currently eating rich tea biscuits! And yes he came to apologize and said he appreciates that we both work hard and there are different bonuses of what we each do (I.e he gets taken out for dinner, pub lnches, golf days, pee by himself etc etc!) anyway.....

borg what's wrong with sil? That's so sad, hope they are helping her with maintaining her supply.

deb I agree re Jo, she really excelled in the final, I was so sure Mary would win.

I need to think of a new name, 40weeks isn't really appropriate anymore since I have sprung my last sprog....

Last night was ok, only woken once by Mikey and once by Owen, could have been worse.

Not many plans for the weekend emski a friend is having a bday lunch and we might take boys swimming but that's it really

Hope you all had a good night

ReastieHorrorShow · 08/10/2011 07:20

Morning all, well, I've decided to put cc on hold until I know what's up with her - she's still snotty this morning and moaning more than usual (although happy on her playmat right now!). We left her to self settle in the night a little more than we would have used to but did go to help her out. She seemed to want milk/water more than usual in the night - not sure if that screams teething or a cold Hmm

We were due to visit my granny in hospital tomorrow with alice but given I'm not sure if she's teething or coldy I might have to postpone as I don't want to give granny a cold given her situ. We have PIL visit this morning and are going to a local village this afternoon to nose in the antique shops and not be able to buy anything and get a nice cup of tea out. Gosh I sound like like an old biddy don't I Blush . We are only going antique-ing as I spotted a really cheap garden bench frame in the window of a shop and DH wants a garden bench for the garden.

Gtg alice crying

Bledkr · 08/10/2011 08:10

Morning all.Well that was strange.I plonked her in her cot,got my netbook and plonked myself on the stairs to fight the good fight and she just mumbled herself to sleep till 7!No idea what that was about.
ems i aggree,i dont remember all this shite with the others,i wonder if ive just forgotten but Ben is only little so you would remember.I cant imagine returning to work and Dilly is relatively ok at night.
Has antone elses baby got a relentless place they go to over and over?Dillys fireplace obsession is ridiculous, ive piled stuff in front of it today but she went around the side.Im going to get a fireguard this weekend,i hate the ugly things but cant be avoided.
I have no firm plans for the weekend. There is a baby sale on but D doesnt really need anything so ill just spend money for the hell of it.
I may do a swimming trip actually deb ive cancelled my expensive gym so i have to go to the public pool, its packed on a Sunday and full of chavvy kids on a Saturday Sad

wigglesmonsterock · 08/10/2011 08:11

Morning

Reastie hope A starts to feel a bit better, your day sounds lovely, well not the pils but the afternoon Grin

tad Grin at you not getting value for money from the coil. Let us know how the pumpkining goes, only very cool people go, well according to E-Online, its where all the celebrities are at - girlfriend

40Weeks Olivia has started to creep into our bed at 4.30am, past few nights, not sure why, but she's been a bit sneaky about it Grin

Emski I hate days where you have no reason to go out, even though I complain about the school runs, it does waste a good hour a day Grin, glad your day turned out ok in the end.

Not much happening here, heading to my Mums, in order to palm the girls off on my Dad let the girls spend some quality time with their grandpa. In-laws are back from holidays tomorrow so off to stock their fridge - this is why I get the good Christmas presents Grin

wigglesmonsterock · 08/10/2011 08:14

ledkr feckin' tv stand, Anna has already turned the Virgin box off twice, think she's trying to tell me something Grin

We don't have a fireplace but A is constantly at my Mums eyeing up her tat very expensive Crystal.
