I know I haven't been around much. Blush I hereby promise to try to contribute more rather than just reading... Life just suddenly became hectic Grin

I will also try and write up my birth story. Hope it's ok to still post that here in post natal!

I think there are a couple of people who have dissapeared- hope they are okay. There was another mother of twins (name started with a c) not heard from her in a while. All the regulars are still around though Wink.

curiouselle · 19/07/2011 13:36

CitizenOscar · 19/07/2011 23:36

Yay - we made it to postnatal! Well done everyone. Here's to lots more one-handed typing!

moomin156 · 20/07/2011 08:25

Morning all.......how is everyone today?? what kind of night did you have........DD has been good this week and because of that im shattered LOL. Going to try a new sleeping bag tonight instead of a swaddle ( if i get around to putting some pressstuds under the arms)

OP posts:
Merlion · 20/07/2011 09:36

Moomin do yours not already have press studs? Rosina still being swaddled but seems to manage to escape now more often than notSmile

It's funny with their sleep you get used to surviving on none then you get a bit more get used to that then something happens and you start getting woken up again.

moomin156 · 20/07/2011 09:44

the sleeping bag is M&S and it doesnt have them, its a 1 tog so hope it will be warm enough. The swaddle seems to distress her more now when i put it on, once shes settled shes ok but again is becoming a bit of a houdini so i think its time to move on. I love the swaddle, it means i dont wake her when putting her down in her cot :)

curiouselle · 20/07/2011 11:48

I bought swaddling blankets, but Emma didn't seem that happy and I was worried about her getting hot in our bedroom. thank god she slept better last night as we needed a break! :)

crumbletastic · 20/07/2011 12:51

Hello to all the postnatal mummies! I'm just marking my place then off to catch up on the old thread and the fb group, I've missed so much

HalleLouja · 20/07/2011 14:36

Argh have a feeling z might have slept from 9 to 330 but also have a feeling I might have fed her at 140. My brain has gone. Though usually if I feed half asleep I wake up to find her on me. But at 330 she was in her crib so who knows what happened.

moomin156 · 20/07/2011 14:38

Anyone heard from Motherofsnortpigs recently........wondered how Percy was getting on.

Oooh, new thread! We finally all made it to postnatal ? it?s been quite a journey!

Thanks for all the comments regarding my last post. I agree that it would be good to do a shorter trial run before Saturday, but unfortunately it doesn?t look like that is going to happen as DH is away on a business trip this week and DS has come down with his first cold. It?s not anything serious as he doesn?t have a fever and he?s feeding fine, but he?s quite congested and has been sneezing fairly frequently Sad Poor little guy wants to be held all the time (he?s sleeping on me right now), probably because the upright position makes it easier for him to breathe, but I?ve been having a hard time without DH here to take the baby sometimes and to help with housework and cooking. It?s been really difficult to get a shower or a hot meal this week, and I am starting to go a little stir crazy as I?ve had to forego some of my usual meet-ups with other mums and babies so as to not pass on the cold. Plus it?s a little heartbreaking to hear DS? laboured breathing when there isn?t much I can do for him Sad Two more sleeps until DH is home...

I would really like to get a bit of a break from DS after the intensity of this week, and the wedding reception would be a great opportunity to do that, but now with DS being sick it?s looking less likely that I?ll be able to go. I?ll play it by ear depending on how he does the next couple of days, and depending on whether I?ll be able to express enough to leave for him for the evening (he?s been feeding very frequently since he?s been sick, making it difficult to find time to express, plus I want to make sure he?s getting as much of the antibodies as possible now since he needs them).

Kara, it would be great to be able to bring the baby to the reception, but DH doesn?t feel like we should ask (it?s his colleague/friend) as we are only invited to the reception, not the ceremony, and he doesn?t think it will be a kid-friendly thing (it?s at Oxford University). He doesn?t want to put them on the spot. Thanks for the reassurance that I?m not being precious; this is my PFB and I?m aware that I may react more emotionally to these things now than with later DC!

Moomin, great that DD has been so good this week! Regarding swaddling, DS doesn?t like it. He has long arms and legs and seems to enjoy having the space to stretch out after being so confined in the womb! He sleeps really well in Grobags though, as they keep him warm and snugly but give him room to move. I?ve got him in 1 tog at the moment.

It seems like quite a few people have disappeared, but then I?m not on the FB group. Has the main chat moved over there?

NurseSunshine · 20/07/2011 16:18

PP Sorry DS has a cold Sad A drop of olbas oil on a tissue under his sheet may help with his congestion. You can also get those saline nasal sprays, never used them but maybe you could ask the pharmacist or something?

PrisonerZero · 20/07/2011 16:22

Just marking place for when Córmac finally goes to sleep

Sarahmumtobe · 20/07/2011 17:02

Marking my place too! So glad we have all made it through. I still can't believe I'm a mum!

Sarahmumtobe · 20/07/2011 17:05

Moomin we have found Ewan sleeps for longer in a sleeping bag too-we got ours in Sainsburys and think it is either 1 or 1.5 tog.
