Happy Birthday babies Grin
All well this end...finally i can say this!! Cassie has cut her 5th tooth bless her, i didn't even know it was coming!! She has been so funny this last couple of weeks, she's really motoring with the walking and can now stand up from the floor to stand and then launch herself forward for a few steps!! Its soo exciting, when she falls down thought she claps herself at the steps shes just taken!! She is not talking just mummy Daddy and a few other random sounds but she is signing a couple of new words like gentle, which she did when i went to visit my friends new baby so she does actually know the meaning too!! And also signs thank you, but she also says "ta" too which i personally don't like i prefer thank you but little steps hey!!

We are off to Cornwall in a caravan next week which i am dreading and looking forward to in equal measures!! If the weather is anything like it has been it will be amazing! we are hoping to call into Paignton Zoo on the way
there which Cassie will love, she has already been to Bristol Zoo and Noahs Ark farm/zoo, her favourite is definetley the monkeys and the lions!!

I may have mentioned a couple of times that i don't want a BFP, however, i have realised that i am almost a week late, and i am too scared to do a test!!!!
I'll give it a few more days as i can't be certain when exactly it was meant to be!!

Ah well, best go to bed now as i am more tired now that Cassie sleeping..(get this...12-13hrs all the way thru!!!) than i was when she was waking!! Confused

pettyprudence · 28/03/2012 22:51

uh oh Sam, late and tired???? POAS! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you (not sure if I'm crossing for a BFP or not but they are crossed). V jealous at 12-13hrs a night Envy

We had a couple of 12 hour nights after the clock change but now Arthur has readjusted and found 5.30am again -phew (for him). He waited just until I was starting to get used to it and feeling a bit smug. Grrrr. I don't know if it makes me feel better or worse that my friends 18mo doesn't sleep through very often iyswim?

Should be packing to go home to the family for Arthurs birthday but I'm sat watching ebay as my auctions are ending (having a bit of a clear out) and its a bit bloody addictive. Having to hold myself back from selling everything I own more purely for the thrill of watching bidding wars in the closing 2 minutes!

Lozario · 29/03/2012 14:23

Halo happy birthday H!!! Hope she has a wonderful day. Bet you can't believe it's a year already!

kagey it's E's tomorrow isn't it? Have a great day!!

Sam POAS! POAS!! God if I was accidentally preggo now I think I'd cry!! Still you've got 2, might as well be 3?! Wink keep us updated!

petty two parties - I need Saturday to prepare for our do on Sunday!! Mad Hatters Tea party for my little April fool here. Are you making 2 cakes? You make me feel so lazy!!!

I can't believe Lara is nearly one, and that when DS was her age I was just about preggo with Lara. She's still so tiny!!

DS will be 3 in June and today I decided not to put him down for a midday map as he'd been messing around for it for ages. Realising I'll never be able to get anything done now - took me 45 mins to hang the washing out in between helping him water the plants!! Hmm SUCH beautiful weather though which makes everything easier and Lara is down to one nap a day and had reached the 2 hour mark now - lovely having time with just DS!! Grin

Lozario · 29/03/2012 14:24

Oh Kagey I read your message wrong - Elise has already had her birthday this week! Blush Hope it went well!!

sam26oscar · 29/03/2012 21:18

Couldn't take it anymore so i POAS...................BFN Grin, thank goodness, i really want another almost as much as i really don't want another ..does that even make sense????!!

At least now i can go to Cornwall without thinking about it all the time!!

Lozario · 29/03/2012 22:22

Phew! Sam I know exactly what you mean. I'd love a third in theory but Crikey I would freak if it happened now!!! You'll probably get pregnant in Cornwall now you think you're safe Wink

I'm lying on fecking uncomfortable sofa bed as DH "very ill" with the cold Lara has been gritting her teeth through the last 3 weeks. Can hear him snoring from here!! Been making party bunting from playing cards for Sundays mad hatters tea party for the little one. Cut up loads of coloured paper for paper chains, lots of cardboard teapots for decoration and found some giant playing cards to lay on the food table instead of a table cloth. My mum has made her an Alice in wonderland outfit Grin Can feel myself going slightly OTT with this tea party!! BlushGrin

sam26oscar · 30/03/2012 06:38

WOw you lot put me to shame although in my defence Cassie and Oscar were ill and she was in hospital so it would have been tricky to do a themed one but am very Envy of all these "proper" parties!!! Well, gotta go seeing as \Cassie woke me up early with a pooh..and now thinks its breakfast time when in fact i'm still in bed and shes crawling around the floor!!!

pettyprudence · 30/03/2012 09:24

Loz I'm not doing anything! Each party, food and cake is being organised by the GP's Grin

Arthur started his birthday celebrations just after midnight by screaming ALL FECKING NIGHT for no apparent good reason other than he is somewhere else. I have just put him down for a nap and now he's dropped off I'm going to join him. He's lucky its his birthday is all I can say.....

ckny1 · 30/03/2012 17:00

Happy Birthday, Arthur !!!! Hope you enjoy the day and get a good night's sleep tonight! Wink

ckny1 · 02/04/2012 13:31

Writing from Teething Hell here. Franz has just popped a molar and it seems others are pushing their way through. One week of non-stop crying, fevers, runny nose, head bashing, clawing...his gums are so swollen right now. I feel so sorry for him and also need a break!!!

The only plus side Hmm is that he dropped a bottle b/c he can't suck, so he is back to eating purees since the gums are so tender.

Hope everyone is enjoying the start of April.

Lozario · 02/04/2012 14:25

Oh ckny nooooo Teething Hell - you need a ticket outta there fast! Not a nice place to be. Molars scare me. Lara doesn't have any yet. She seems ok with the 8 teeth she has - can't that just be it?! I hope he settles soon poor lamb.

Soooooooo the Tea Party was a success!!! Spent about 24 hours on cake (put pic of it on FB) and all the deccies looked great, can't bring myself to take them down. Kept accidentally calling it "my party". It was for Lara, of course...! Was a bit knackered as DS still quite poorly and was up in the night with hacking cough but all in all it was great. Not sure what to do with myself now?! (No-one suggest another baby!!!)

highlandbird · 04/04/2012 10:05

yep, same teething hell here, feel your pain ckny he's got tonsilitis too so on antibiotics, will only eat yogurt!! The head banging is awful isn't it? He's also taken to biting me constantly wherever he can get hold of me :( nurofen and calpol on a regular basis last few days :( been trying to stop bf for a while but don't feel like I can do it while he's ill and we seem to have been constantly ill since before Christmas :( right, moaning over, sounds like everyone's LO's having lovely birthdays :)

Should be organising our wedding, only 2 and a half months to go and still haven't sent all the invites....oops! kinda wishing we'd just organised to go abroad and do it on the quiet now!

StealthToddler · 04/04/2012 13:44

Hi all - long time no post from me but have been lurking - sorry! just so ridiculously busy!
great to hear how all the little ones are doing...

Ollie took his first steps on his own last night, just three little stagger and then he fell down. He has been cruising for 3 months so about time! However, when I said to DS1 (4) wow, look Ollie just took his first step, DS1 said "but he has done that lots mummmy, ages ago" which made me feel very Sad that I had missed it! Asked their nanny this morning and she said that she hadn't said anything as she wanted me to enjoy the moment! turns out that "ages ago" in DS1 speak only meant yesterday morning!!

Anyhow, Ollie is being very cheeky and lovely. Has just started a new game of getting a jug of water and pouring it over teh side of teh bath that he finds extremely funny!

Am definitely very broody....did POAS last month but no BFP so fingers crossed it happens soon.....DS1 is desperate for a little sister and is going around telling everyone that we are having TWO little girls...First I heard of it! Grin

ckny1 · 06/04/2012 15:32

Miracle of miracles, Franz has been an angel all morning (it's only 10am)! He's taking a break from the teething, and enjoying himself and being very lovey-dovey. His walking confidence is back and he's staggering like a drunkard walking across rooms, though I'm not so confident to let go of his hand when I take him outside on harder surfaces.

Lozario, the cake was fab! We also kept our decor up for days (at the grandparents'). I won't suggest another LO atm so that you will save time to make future cakes! :) Hope DS feels better.

Highland, poor Angus and poor you!!! Tonsilitis?!?! Hopefully he will recover from the teething and everything soon so that all of you can ENJOY the wedding planning process!!!

So sweet, Stealth , about DS1's concept of time! Yeah for Ollie!!!!!

We're going to an Orchid Show at the Botanical Gdns today with F's little friends, though I dread getting out the sling. My plan is to carry his little gf while he sits in her buggy b/c she is SIGNIFICANTLY lighter! :)

Off to Philly for w/e to see whole family, including my 11 month old niece! F's first train trip! Happy Easter everyone! [busmile]

sam26oscar · 06/04/2012 20:47

Hi ladies and babies, are we almost out of the first birthdays soon?? I can't remember who is the youngest?

Well, Cornwall was a break of sorts!!!! It was a lovely place scenery wise, but just not my sort of thing socially, i guess that makes me a bit of a snob!! Just not the same sort of people as you get at Centre Parks Grin!!

The caravan was fab!! A bit chilly but we did have gales force winds and battering rain so not surprising!! The first night was a bit stressy! Cassie and Oscar slept together in,what can only be described as a box. Cassie freaked out after going down, then woke several times screaming, but by aboyt midnight slept thru til 7am!! Then slept beautifully in her travel cot with Oscar in a match box bed!!!

We had lots of lovely walks along the coastal paths in Perranporth, and watched the surfers!!

Still haven't had a period, so maybe > it might be the start of menopause. God i didn't think i was that old!!!! Will see the dr next week as i also have to go about a broken arse Blush.

The whole of my family meet every month at a local country park and it has a really good assault course with ropes, scramble nets and log bridges etc, well, i thought it would be hilarious for me and DH to race..(Let us not forget my DH is in the Forces), Anyway to cut a long and sore story short, i came down a log ladder bum first bouncing on my cocycx on each of the logs. needless to say i am now in absolute agony a week on!! I read on the internet ( sooo not a good idea) that to confirm a broken bone is to insert a finger up your bum...no thank you i think i will take my chances on that score thank you very much !!!!

Well, sorry to hear some babies are suffering ith teething, i hope it passes and they cut soon.

DS is trying to read this over my shoulder so will sign off for now!!!

sam26oscar · 06/04/2012 20:50

Just read back my post and obviously the Dr does the inserting not just anyone Grin Blush!! Really should read back before i post!!!

highlandbird · 07/04/2012 12:55

ouch, poor you Sam i bruised my coccyx once snowboarding and that was painful enough, I would know better than to try and race my other half, he is VERY competitive and I know it would end in tears!!!! Glad you had a nice time in Cornwall, and that Cassie eventually slept for you!

We've turned a corner here I think, Angus seems to be getting better, and I'm getting ovemy scarlet fever (although still covered in nasty itchy rash), doc has advised us to stay away from playgroups etc for a while as our immune systems are absoluelty knackered so feeling a bit as though we're in solitary confinement in the arse end of nowhere.....never mind.

Wow at all these babies walking, we're a long way off I reckon although A is now pulling himself up to stand very confidently so we're on the right track!

Hope everyone has a lovely Easter, I stupidly sent the OH to do the shopping yesterday and he compleelty missed one side of the list (shop is over an hour away), unfortunately it was the side of the list that had 'chocolate' on it so we're having a choc free easter :( that'll teach me to send a man shopping!!!!

highlandbird · 07/04/2012 12:56

oops awful spelling Blush

sam26oscar · 07/04/2012 14:34

what no chocolate??? Poor you!! We have said to relatives, either a dvd or book as last year DS had 13 eggs and 10 were still there 6 months later!!!

Purplefan · 08/04/2012 10:10

Happy Easter everyone [bugrin]

Sorry not posted for a while... I have no idea where time disappears. Hope everyone is well. Sam glad you had a good holiday and I hope you are feeling less sore now???

Highlandbird I hope all have recovered well and maybe the Easter bunny will deliver some chocolate?? [buwink]
Petty sorry I missed saying happy birthday to Arthur, hope he enjoyed his parties... how is the job going?

All well here.. Bethan is rolling everywhere and can cover ground very quickly now...she has progressed this week to sit herself up from laying down [busmile] Speech therapist has discharged her as she is very happy with her eating progress. She goes to bed beautifully now and sleeps all night!! Have reviews at hospital at the end of this month.

Off to France tomorrow until Sunday for a little holiday. Yay!! Hope everyone has an 'illness free' Easter. Catch up again after holiday [busmile] x

highlandbird · 10/04/2012 13:28

Purple you sound really happy and sounds like Bethan is doing really well :D
A friend from playgroup, who I don't really know very well, sent me a get well soon parcel that arrived on friday with a heap of dvd's and some lovely green and blacks chocolate so easter weekend wasn't too bad after all, and also one of the neighbours gave Angus an easter egg (he's never had chocolate so guess who's scoffed that one Blush ) so not such a choc free few days after all :D

Feeling much better, we're headed off to Ireland tomorrow for a few days for DP's birthday and to visit friends, can't wait!!

Lozario · 10/04/2012 19:18

Are we all one now? First year down - woohoo!! Grin

We are really going through it here. Long weekend away curtailed by Lara being a total nightmare at night - second night we didn't sleep at all!!! Plus took over 5 hours to get there (should have taken less than 3) and she only slept for half an hour of it because of traffic, then on way back we went in the evening in the hope they'd sleep, but DS had eaten so much chocolate that he puked all over the new car! Cue naked sobbing 2 year old on hard shoulder of motorway as we tried to sort him out and put new clothes on him! I think DH and I have actual post-traumatic stress!!! DH VERY pissed off and we're both generally a bit god-why-did-we-have-kids after last few weeks. :(

Took Lara for her MMR today but they said she was still too ill. Has anyone had bad MMR reactions from LO so far? They told me it was the eighth day after the jab that the reaction usually happened.

She has also started rolling over in bed (at the ripe old age of one - before this I could count the number of times she's rolled on one hand!!) and waking up on her tummy is sometimes currently bothering her. What do people do here - move back on to back, or just leave as they have to get used to it at some point? Are we out of the SIDS woods?

Urgh I feel like all my posts are really negative at the moment, sorry girls. Blush I think the last year of being a SAHM of 2 small ones has caught up with me. DS will be 3 in June and he's being so lovely at the moment but I feel like I can't make the most of him because Lara is being so demanding! Does anyone follow the "Wonder Weeks" thing - apparently they can go through one after they turn one and become a monster for a bit?

Anyway! Wine How is everyone else? highland, I was genuinely mortified for you about the lack of chocolate. I am glad that was rectified by your lovely friend! I'm glad you're getting better and I agree about the germ-pit of playgroups although it's a shame - I think that's why we are constantly ill at the moment. All our groups are off at the moment anyway for the hols.

purple you sound lovely and happy and well rested - sleeping all night, well done! We had 7-7 for a few weeks until our ill-fated weekend away to the outlaws.

sam love how's yer bum?! Loved the Centre Parcs comment. We're off there mid-May, pleased to hear we're a better class of citizen for it! Wink Although after the weekend we've just had I'm slightly dreading it. In the caravan, did it bother Oscar when Cassie kicked off in that first evening? Lara just cried for about 10 mins when they went to bed tonight, I don't think 10 mins is that long (although long enough listening to it :() but I do worry that it will emotionally scar DS! DH says I'm being silly though and he won't care!

ckny what did Franz make of the train - DS loves them. Did as a baby too. Glad you're getting a break from the teething - we're in teething hell at the moment. How many does Franz have now? Did he get canines before molars or other way around? It seems that L's canines will come before molars here.

stealth God imagine if you had twin girls. I would seriously take my hat off to you - would that be 5 under 5??! I've probably told you this before but my MIL had 4 under 4, the last 2 being twins. I don't know how she did it. (She says she can't remember!!!)

petty how did the birthday parties go??

Hope everyone else is well, I'm signing off now before I use up the rest of MN's space!! Mammoth post!!! xxx

sam26oscar · 10/04/2012 20:40

Lozario
My bum is still really painful...does anyone know how long a broken bum takes to heal!!!! Poor you on your epic journeys Sad. Oscar was asleep before she went down and he sleeps like the dead Grin so no it didn't wake him!! Cassie had a really swollen and bruised leg after her jabs and was quite grizzly about 8/9 days after it, but no reaction as such.
When Cassie first started rolling i tried to right her but in the end she slept so much better and i think if they can turn themselves over its fine to leave them. I actually used to put her on her tummy to sleep at about 8 months!!

I have just ordered Cassie her first shoes Grin. They are proper old fashioned navy blue leather T bar shoes!! can't wait for them to come theyr'e 2 1/2 G bless!! Oscars first shoes were a 4 G!!! I have bought her a pair of walkers from Clarks at a bargain £3 couldn't believe my luck!! That was after Cassie puked over another pair in a different shop Blush!!!

I have started to sell a load of clothes on the facebook selling sites now and trying to save up some money for a sandpit and water tray!! And possibly her shoes!!

Well, i have got a stinker of a cold, and a proper one with sneezing and runny nose, i am quite chuffed actually as my colds for the past God knows how many years are usually just all in my sinuses and really painful so this makes a change!!! So nice hot bath and bed Grin

StealthToddler · 10/04/2012 22:34

Sam - could you imagine - would be 5 under 5 1/2 which would probably be hideous!
Am in mourning ..... Tonight was the first time I didn't bf ollie in the evening. He necked about 8oz of milk from his cup so I know he didn't need me, and he didn't demand it like he usually does so I didn't offer! I feel very sad about it but he did turn 13 months today so it is probably about time.....
Sorry cant remember who had no choc at Easter (iPhone can't see other posts) but very Sad for u ... We had too much and ds 1 thought Easter was all about chocolate eggs do I had to have a little chat with him before his grandfather thought I was a terrible mother!!!
Ollie can walk 2 metres on his own now and walks around waving at everyone ...very funny!!!! Also got a new game of dumping jugs of water out of the bath!

pettyprudence · 11/04/2012 23:50

helloooooooo

Glad to hear everyone is one the mend (well nearly!) A had the hideous D&V bug that was going around a few weeks ago and passed it on to EVERYONE he came in to contact with - much apologising to friends Blush

2 parties went well, I did bugger all. A was very unsettled on his first night back at my parents though and screamed ALL NIGHT. Argh. Making me dread upcoming holiday a bit......

Teeny tiny bit of walking going on here, like if your only 30cms away A might take a step or might just lunge at you and collapse in a heap Hmm. Either way he seems very pleased with himself!

Right must be off to bed now, boring old work in the morning :( but I'm up late because I've just had a lovely night out with friends and NO BABIES Grin

PS - I think we had our last bf this morning. It was the first one in a few days. I'm a bit Confused, I'm more than ready to finish now but sad that my baby won't need me anymore.
