OOh congratulations eversomuch

Lozario · 29/02/2012 10:21

OOOOH congrats everso!!! V exciting. Love that moment when you get the BFP. Lovely news.

Who's gonna be next!!!!

food Lara prefers to feed herself and has never been into purees unless it comes out of an Ella pouch! Hmm

birthday Still over a month for us to decide but as her birthday is on April Fools Day I think we're going to do a sort of Mad Hatters tea party with the fam.

Well we had a rough night with Lara last night, very unsettled from 2am and this morning she is gnawing at her fists and nose is streaming. Molars on the way I think. So tired!! On the plus side though - she has started crawling FINALLY!!!! At 11 months, when all the other babies are walking! Bless her. Not going very far but has definitely crawled about a foot?!

ckny1 · 29/02/2012 13:23

Everso , congratulations!!! Will be cool to have close siblings! I also had a huge fibroid near my cervix and it didn't affect pregnancy much (though had a CS).

Halo , I never wake Franz up from nap or sleep, except once I did slowly get him out of his cot to change him and place him in buggie and he woke up, but I'd prefer not to. How's sleep going with H? Nice that she is napping well.

He's still not sleeping through the night!!! Now he wakes up a half hour after we put him down (?!), then sometimes at midnight, 4am, and/or 6am. The good news is that yesterday he finished his 3 meals + snack, and he drank his preferred milk intake so he didn't wake for a feed, only for a cuddle then his dummy.

We went to Gymbo yesterday and he was significantly larger/taller than his GF after 1 week! Her mom thinks he went through a massive growth spurt making it impossible for me to rock him to sleep every night , which is possible, mixed with molars coming in and learning to walk...

I'm only concerned that we have introduced new bed time routines at this late stage which I'd prefer not having introduced (rocking, staying beside him, bringing him to our bed,...)

First b-day will be in Germany with ILs. Should be fun if he survives the flight and we survive his non-sleep!

ckny1 · 29/02/2012 13:37

Oh, and happy Leap Year Day, everyone! :)

me23 · 29/02/2012 18:55

Congratulations Everso! That is fantastic news :-)

sam26oscar · 29/02/2012 21:20

Thanks to everso congratulations am very Envy of you as i would love another but am too old!!!

Well, good news Cassie is finally on the mend, in fact so much so that she nearly ate all of my lunch of my plate at lunchtime today!! That being the most food she has eaten in over a week!! Her fluids are also up and are now having wet nappies once again Grin

Sorry purple and petty for having to cancel our meet but i really dikdn't want to pass on any germs to you or the babies!

Cassie's first birthday ..bless her was , well, quite frankly ..crap!! Bless her! She looks really poorly in the photos!! I just had my Mum, Dad and sister over for a cup of tea and a slice of cake as the main celebrations were to be on the sunday but in the end i cancelled it all...and took the cake back and got my money back!!!!!

Other news... boring really !! Just trying to catch up on the 50 loads of sick covered washing!!!! And trying to rid the house of that awful sickly air!! Lots of windows open ( thank you for being nice and sunny!!) and smelly candles!! Starting to feel like a healthy house again!!
I hope everyone is ok and enjoying the promise of spring woith all this nice sunny weather!!!

Well, this has cost me about £3 in dial up as i have run out of time and bites or some such thing Blush!!

Sign in soon!! x

StealthToddler · 29/02/2012 21:32

Congrats everso
I have 17 months between ds1 and 2 and can attest to it being hard work but lots of fun. They are so close and best friends! Hope you are feeling ok and not too tired!

eversomuch · 01/03/2012 09:33

Thanks everyone. I'm feeling fine so far; really not feeling pg at all. I'm sure things will be very different in a few weeks, though!

My in-laws are coming over from the US for S's birthday, so we have to decide if we're going to tell them this early in the game. At this point, we're leaning towards doing so. DH is sure they would keep it to themselves until we're in the clear, and it would be really nice to tell them in person this time rather than over Skype.

Glad to hear so many positive comments about small age gaps between siblings. My sister and I are five years apart and definitely not close, lol.

OK, I promise not to clog the thread with pgpgpgpg.

sam Glad to hear Cassie is finally on the mend.

Hope everyone else is well and enjoying the springlike weather. Thanks again for all the lovely comments.

Lozario · 03/03/2012 13:28

Girls. A cry (literally :() of help from me.... Lara is properly crawling now but has also had a couple of colds in the last week - she's at the end of one now - and I'd say for about 5 of her sleeps in the last week she has fussed and cried so much going down that I've ended up rocking her to sleep. I think she might be teething as well but I'm really stressing out about it - she just went COMPLETELY mental for her lunchtime nap, DH ended up rocking her to sleep but she'd really worked herself up if you know what I mean - that horrible hiccupy breathing even when she'd finished crying and was asleep in his arms :(

I'm really stressing out about it. I feel like everyone else's babies just go to sleep when they go in their cots - she always used to but this last fortnight it's really touch and go every time I've put her down. A couple of times I've taken DS in to my room so he can sleep in peace and I can pat or rock her to sleep - I'm sure if I left her for long enough, she'd scream herself to sleep but I just can't listen to her cry until she's hoarse :( Do any other babies occasionally go nuts when going down?

Been bloody car shopping all morning too and DH had a hangover so stayed in bed til 10am, muggins up since 6 with the kids, and have a cold myself! Feeling sorry for myself :(

Lozario · 03/03/2012 13:29

Gosh look at all the sad faces on my post!

StealthToddler · 03/03/2012 14:31

Poor old you lozario you are having a tough time! You must all be exhausted by all the colds..... I went through simulate in January with endless colds and ear infections and sleep went to pot. Ended up back at square one rocking to sleep almost every hour! She WILL get over it and get back to routine.... It just feels like it takes forever!
Similarly annoyed with dh over demanding the Saturday lie in when I haven't been able to shake my cold for 2 weeks! Men huh?

haloflo · 04/03/2012 19:20

lozario I hope today was a better day and you got a good nights sleep. Sometimes the babies just get so wound up but that's ok, so do we!

Not every ones baby just goes to sleep in their cot! I often pat H to sleep in her cot, it just helps her relax. She sometimes screams if I leave which I think sometimes is separation anxiety or teething. Today she refused her morning nap so had an hour and a half after lunch and was tired and grumpy til half 6 when I put her to bed early. I am shattered. Entertaining and carrying a grumpy baby is hard work!

Back at work tomorrow after a lovely week off (spent with DP and H at home) I think I'm going to have to up my days to 4 as 3 days leaves nothing spare at the end of the month for emergencies. Sad

pettyprudence · 04/03/2012 20:41

Hope you are feeling better Loz. I sort of have the opposite problem to you in that A screams his head off if I'm IN the room Hmm. Not normally a problem, I scarper out of his room pretty quick Grin but when we went away last weekend and had to share a room again, he was up for 2 hours in the middle of the night crying and shouting because he couldn't get back to sleep with me and DH there. Strangley I couldn't get back to sleep either....

I have come to realise that babyproofing has nothing to do with the saftey of your baby and everything to do with protecting your possessions (and cats) Hmm After months of saying NO to Arthur in various ways I'm giving up and babyproofing EVERYTHING. The boy spends all day repeatedly emptying cupboards, bookcases, bins, catfood bowls, the bath, over and over and over. When I say No, or try to distract him he has a major tantrum and I've had enough! Tomorrow ALL cupboards will be locked, new high up and heavy bins will be purchased and chocolate and cake will be eaten in another postcode so he doesn't get a whiff of them Grin

Muser · 04/03/2012 22:37

Oh gosh, I've missed so much! Big congratulations to everso, what lovely news! I am a bit jealous, I would love to be pregnant again.

Lozario how is the sleep now, have things improved at all? They will get better again. We had dreadful sleep recently but things have settled down again. I think it was her learning new stuff, she seems to have had a bit of a mental leap and you can see her little brain putting things together more.

The childproofing is a pain petty, I think we have moved pretty much everything now. Thankfully she's not really a cupboard emptier. At the moment all my girl wants to do is climb. On the sofa, over the sofa, off the sofa. On the sofa, over the sofa, off the sofa. And if I'm sitting on it then I get clambered on to. Her dad took her to soft play yesterday, they were there for ages. Soft play is a godsend as far as I'm concerned!

I'm back at work in a few weeks too. Just doing the settling in at the childminder at the moment. Everything seems to be ok so far, she starts properly this week. I'm looking forward to having a few days to myself before I go back to work, but I feel really weird about it all as well. I'm sure she'll have a great time, but it's a big change in our relationship.

At the moment all anyone asks me is if she's started walking yet. She cruises, but no sign at all of walking unaided. She wants to hold on to something when she stands up. Everyone looks disappointed when I say no, but she's only a year old! Plenty of babies aren't walking yet. Sheesh. Gimme a break!

highlandbird · 06/03/2012 08:27

Just got back from hols in Lanzarote Grin where we finally got rid of all our colds and coughs, it was so lovely to spend so much time outdoors and for Angus to have so much freedom (villa very open plan and not much furniture, veeeery different from our home!! and DP even let me have a few long lie ins and went on couple walks by myself and even horseriding one day (bliss!!), back to earth with a bang though, house is a tip and a billion piles of laundry to do but my mum is coming to stay today for a week (hooray for mums!!!). Flight was hell, squirmy, bored whingy child writhing about on my lap, but was so worth it to get away!!!

Loved reading through the thread last night, so much has happened in a couple of weeks!

eversomuch huge congrats to you that is just fab news!!!

had planned to stop bf in the next couple of weeks, but no idea how to go about it, about a week ago I just thought I've had enough and decided I wanted to stop, but gave A some milk out of a cup yesterday afternoon and I cried for 20 mins after Hmm so I'm going to have to think this one through!!

Can't believe how advanced all the babies are, A is still commando crawling, doesn't even properly crawl, doesn't stand up or anything like that!! His latest achievement is going from his belly to sitting so I think it'll be a while before we have a toddler here (which is fine with me!!)

Lozario A often goes nuts when I put him down if he's really overtired / grumpy its difficult to know what to do but he generally falls aslepp within a few mins. Hope Lara gets better soon you sound knackered, seems there's been a lot of poorly babies :(

Happy Birthday to all those turning 1, we're just having a small tea party for family and close friends and Im going to attempt a cake!!

sure I had more to write......oh yes, happy birthday petty, I turned 30 a couple weeks ago it wan't all that bad ;) enjoy your celebrations, me and DP had a meal out and I spent most of it worrying about A.....until I was halfway through a bottle of wine, he he!!

Lozario · 06/03/2012 13:26

Thanks everyone - things a bit more on an even keel now and I don't feel quite as mental - I totally lost it on Saturday, being ill myself too my resistance was low and the sleep deprivation too severe!! She slept all night the last 2 nights and seems to be on the mend - it's this lingering cough that keeps waking her up and mashing up her naps. But DS seems to be down with it now! He said this morning, "Mummy, I'm a bit poorly... I can't feel my breath" which was a bit worrying?!

Think we had a bit of a honeymoon period when they first shared a room as neither were ill - when one of them is, it really messes things up. What I wouldn't give for a 3rd bedroom! Am hoping the sharing will be lovely for them in the long run though!

Also my back is killing me after patting her and rocking her during her illness; she is small but still nearly a year old so not like a newborn! Right that's my moaning OVER I promise!

Just worried now that after my and Lara's "performance" (as DS would say) on the weekend will mean that DH will now be completely off the idea of ever having another baby; I'd quite like another (despite everything!) in about 2 years. Still, that gives me time to wear him down I suppose - maybe I'll go off the idea anyway. Feels sad though if that's it for us. Really want a home birth!

highland sounds like you had a lovely holiday! Yes I'm struggling with the giving up BF too. I've now dropped the morning feed so just the bedtime one to go. Think we'll keep it going for another month or so.

petty my DS was like that and I used to HATE going away with him if it meant sharing a room with him - if he knew we were in the room it was awful! I remember going away with the outlaws once and I was 8 months preggo with Lara, DS was awake basically all night! I was knackered!!!

Muser Yeah it's pretty unusually for babies to walk before one I think - DS was about 16 months before he was properly walking independently. Also people forget/don't know what babies do when - once when I was looking after my cousin's 3 month old, (before we had kids ourselves) my DH rang me, heard him squalk a bit in the background and said, "Oh what did he say?" Had to try and explain to him without laughing that kids tend not to talk quite that early....

Stealth there's something about a complete lack of guilt with a DH lie-in don't you think - if I ever have one, I'm like THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!! If DH has one he says "Urgh I'm still knackered though!" I did get a lie-in on Sunday morning though when I was feeling really grotty with illness though.

halo when will you have to start your 4 days? What's your job again - I've forgotten? Do you think H is going down to one nap a day - I think Lara will soon. Quite pleased as that morning nap is becoming a real faff what with playgroups etc. At the moment she only has 15 mins or so (I wake her so she'll go down at 1 with DS) from 9.30amish and if she doesn't go down straight away then we just have to miss PG.

Right that's a bit of a mammoth post - hope all are well xxxx

Jupiter118 · 06/03/2012 22:23

Evening girls ? sorry it has been so long since my last post ? seems to have been a busy last couple of weeks [Jupiter squeezing every waking moment out her mat leave]. Anyway was back to earth with a huge bump today as first day back at work. It was ok and I?m lucky enough to only be doing tue, wed and thur, but still would much rather be doing school run and pootling about with my little girl rather than dealing with ?lovely-- bloody solitors. Actually lots of them are lovely, it?s just the work that?s tiresome.

News from here is that we are on the edge of toddlerdom. E is getting to standing position all over the place and has done the odd single step and once two in a row. It?s nice, but I would so much rather have a baby still and her not walk until about 15 months. I think that?s much more usual btw I just seem to be ?blessed--cursed with early walkers as DS was about 11 months (somewhere between 11 and 12 as well.

Lozario how are you? Sounds v v hideous the sleep, the illness and the car shopping. And in amongst you are also still keen on number 3?! Shock. Actually [whispers] I could entertain the idea of a third, but DH very very very firmly in the no camp. Maybe, I suspect not, but?. also am 36 so not getting any younger compared to all you just turned 30 people. Happy Birthday (belated) to highland and petty. And halo you youngster, so envious of your youth!!!!

eversomuch congratulations fantastic news!!!

highland holiday sounds fab ? v jealous

petty your posts always make me chuckle. Love that chocolate and cake will be eaten in another postcode. E is also a cupboard emptier (DS never was) and is now cross with us after childproofing locks went on all cupboards at the weekend.

Purple fab to hear Beth is doing so well

sam belated birthday wishes to Cassie and hope that she is fully recoverd.

stealth grrr at DH re: lie in

sam26 happy birthday to cassie for Friday. Happy birthday to other babies.

stealth ? grrr at DH

CKNY good luck with flying and the outin-laws

I think s.o asked about spilt and tooimmature. Spilt had a girl last summer, perhaps August (hope you are doing well)and I recall vaguely that tooimmature is due quite soon. Thinking of you also as you remember Thea?s birthday. Sending you both love and good wishes.

car seats - E is just about 9kg and is now in forward facing in DH?s car and still in rear facing cabrio in mine. Our second forward facing is in my parents garage in the south east. We have waited with her until she was big enough, but with DS we had to move him when he was 7.5kg as the little wotsit escaped from the rear facing (not the cabrio we used to have one that went with our original pram, a loola) one whilst we were on a winding road in Herefordshire. Even though he was too light my health visitor said we must move him as he would be safer in ff seat than escaping from the infant one iyswim.

milk ought to be starting to move to cow?s milk here, must get round to it. We are still on 3 per day ? 7oz at waking and bedtime and 3-5oz mid afternoon. Guess it might change again with being at nursery 3 days who knows??

Meet up I could potentially be up for a mass one. Birmingham v easy for me obviously ? made it to after school club in 22 minutes even in rush hour traffic today. Only live 4 miles from centre though.

Pushchairs am very naughtily thinking about a new lightweight one. Have a Zapp from DS and is great for popping in and out of the car, but crap for walking with and will be walking more as school run two days. Sooooo thinking about Baby jogger city mini, maybe 4 wheel, maybe 3. Does anyone have one? All info greatly received. DH will be v cross mind you!!!

Gosh sorry mega post, little and often would be better..

Jx

sam26oscar · 08/03/2012 21:23

evening ladies!!
Wow, some mega posts to read...love it Grin
Well i am so happy february has gone it was a pretty shit one!! All but me and my mum has had some illness or another and 2 of the family been in hospital, dad had pneumonia.( really bad attempt at that spelling i apologise Blush) Oscar was off twice in one week, God it has been awful!! Still, all over now Grin

We have been on cows milk for about 2 months now jupiter no adverse reaction she just took it!!

Cassie has been having just the one nap after lunch since she was about 10 months, it was hard going as she wanted to go to sleep at about 11.30am but it was too close to lunch so i tried to stretch her til 12 then lunch and bed. She generally sleeps 2-3hrs.

Very Envy at highland having had a lovely warm holiday!!!

petty you do make me laugh!! Can't wait to see you and purple next thurs Smile

cassie has once again started to walk a few more steps, she lost her confidence since being poorly, and it has really put her development back, but shes started to try walking and standing for longer periods!

Her sleep at night is getting better but its still hit and miss as if she sleeps thru.

Do you count it as sleeping thru if they wake/cry out but you don't have to go in.... or is it sleeping thru if they don't make a noise and you wake up look at the clock and you say "Get in there!!!" Wink.????

sam26oscar · 08/03/2012 21:30

P.S Jupiter Cassie is still rear facing and will stay that way until shes about 15 months, i am lucky as the car seat i have is a huge one and she still has about 6" of head room left, her legs are up the back of the seat but thats ok its just the head room that they worry about!! If E still has room at the top of the chair they recommend that they stay rear facing for as long as poss, also could save a bit of money Wink!!

I have a bugaboo bee and am in love with it!!!! Am waiting for petty to work her magic and come up with some ideas on how to customise it...hear that petty Wink Wink, she is amazingly talented with a needle!!

It is seriously lightweight and has the benefit of being parent facing or forward facing, and you can collapse it without having to take the seat unit out.

GeekLove · 08/03/2012 21:45

Hello long time no see! Can't believe they are all nearly 1! Where has that time gone!
It seems that there is a lot of illness about. At least there is some sunshine and daylight. We've been dogged by illness with DH and DS1 being out of it for this week. Never have I looked forward to a weekend so much!

As for M's birthday he's having two! One for the GPs and one for our friends. I am hoping that M's constitution will hold up for now.
Hope everyone gets well soon. I am so glad about split and that hope that tooimmature has a safe delivery.

OP posts:
pettyprudence · 09/03/2012 19:28

Jupiter I have the bugaboo bee too and luuuurve it. I've had 3 prams now but this is a keeper! (Sam I'm going to get cracking with trying to make a hood, just trying to find the right material but already thinking I could make them lined/double sided - ooh the possibilities!)

On that note I have been very busy trying to build a website and start properly making and selling things. Finding the website building a complete PITA even using a template. I'm also starting a new job next week - part time and quite flexible. It's given me the boost I needed to start my own business - ie I will have a financial fall back plan should the whole making thing not really go anywhere.

A really suffering with teething today - he's normally really good but he's been sooo upset today and his cheeks were VERY hot :(

Glad to hear babies are on the mend - hopefully now spring has sprung we can put porrliness behind us for the summer Grin On that note, just booked some cheap flights to spain for guaranteed sun Grin

Sleep through the night for us is me not getting out of bed before 6.30am. A sometimes cries out for a minute but goes back to sleep without me even getting up. More often though he needs feeding at 5am. At least he goes back to sleep though til 7.30/8.30ish

Lozario · 11/03/2012 11:50

Lara has woken up with conjunctivitis - any experience anyone? Have drops from the doc who said start using them if it hasn't started clearing up after 24 hours - TBH not sure why I can't just start using them now though?! Hmm Anyway she's in a lovely happy mood despite her gross eye so even though we've had to cancel our plans (seeing friends with kids who wouldn't have thanked us for lurgying their kids who have to go to nursery!) we're having a nice day with them - DH has taken DS to woods "to find the gruffalo".

sam sleeping through for me is if I don't go in before 6!! Good night last night as we woke at 6.30 to happy chatting between them - and then we went in and saw the state of L's eyes! Yuk!

petty are those teeth through yet? Poor A :(

buggy we're getting a new one too - I think I want a maclaren!

Boys about to get back from the park now so better get the lunch on! Hope everyone is having a good weekend x

Jupiter118 · 12/03/2012 00:09

v quickly as need to go to bed...

lozario you are lucky GP gave you drops - mine refused. Saline is good for cleaning the gunk - I have tixylix mini tubes of saline, i think was supposed to be for noses, but good for eyes.

Used teabags also supposed to be good.

xx

highlandbird · 12/03/2012 07:52

Bleurgh, Angus is back to waking at 5am with a big poo then thats us up for the day :( am very bleary eyed this morning!!!

Not much news from here, trying to spring clean, organise a wedding, and have started back at work, decided to go self employed so just the odd day here and there, really enjoying it so far :) A tries to pull himself to stand now as well, oh and we've dropped to one bf a day, the last one before bed, which we're going to drop - -when I reluctantly feel like fighting that battle- - in a couple weeks time.....

Lozario hope Lara's eyes get beter soon!

Hello everyone else!!

sam26oscar · 12/03/2012 21:04

Purple Happy birthday to Bethan for tomorrow Grin xx
