Hi all,
Sorry not posted for a while. No excuses.... I'm just rubbish!!!!

As Sam has pointed out above...it is Bethan's 1st Birthday tomorrow Grin (thanks Sam).. It really doesn't seem possible. She is just delightful now (well always has been, but even more so now!!!), she is still in 3-6 month clothes, she is sitting beautifully, rolling and most importantly......SLEEPING!!!!! Grin I can now put her to bed about 8pm and she listens to her little tune on her cot and goes to sleep in about 5-10 mins and then sleeps all night till about 7am!!!! YAY!!!! We are eating better too, still not totally happy with lumps and finger food, but a vast improvement. Smile

We are a long way off walking as we are not even crawling yet.... but she is making so much progress! She is a chatterbox and loves bouncing away to music!!!

I am working tomorrow on her 1st birthday Sad, but we did have a family thing at the weekend and I have made a cake for a little party that my childminder is putting on for her and the kids after school tomorrow... big sister is very excited at being asked to help organise this!!!

I need to have a good read through and catch up on everyones news.. I did skim and I caught news of a pregnancy.... CONGRATS to Everso

Hope everyone is well.... catch up soon... Purple xx

Muser · 13/03/2012 10:02

Happy Birthday Bethan!

Lozario · 13/03/2012 11:25

Happy birthday Bethan!!! Grin

Kids here still ill. Given up on trying to play with them... we are all sitting down watching Happy Feet having a rest....

sittinghippo · 13/03/2012 16:07

Quick message - I have been so busy lately I don't know where the time goes. I will have a proper catch up later when I get half an hour peace, but wanted to drop in and wish happy birthdays to all the babies. Bethany is 1 tomorrow, but we had a little celebration at the weekend so big sister could be involved, and before my close friend emigrated to Australia (she left this morning Sad).

I do believe tooimmature has given birth now, I'm so happy for them all, and thinking of Thea today.

Congratulations everso, how very exciting for you!

Promise I will catch up properly later.

highlandbird · 13/03/2012 16:22

Happy Birthday Bethan!!!! And Happy Birthday Bethany for tomorrow!!!

Kagey · 13/03/2012 16:49

Congrats everso and happy birthday babies!!

Purple I shall also be working on dd2's birthday (2 weeks today) but I had to work on dd1's 1st birthday too. Either my mum or mil will be looking after her that day so she'll be utterly spoilt and then fussed over again when me and dh and dd1 get home.

We are holding a party for her the weekend after and I must get round to organising it Blush.

Hope you are all well! Smile

superpenguin · 14/03/2012 12:37

Hello again everyone!
I can't believe all our babies are turning one! Where has that year gone?

Got a BFP this morning so am feeling all cautiously excited! :)

xxx

haloflo · 14/03/2012 13:03

Congratulations Superpenguin! Hopefully these BFPs will be catching! Although I say that but I am having doubts about TTC number 2. Its not an easy decision. There's money, work , Hannah, my relationship with my partner, sleep to think of but I can't help being broody. Maybe I always will be?!

Happy Birthday to both Bethan and Bethany!

Lozario Hope your DCs feel better soon.

Brilliant news for tooimmature. I often think of Thea. It must be a very emotional time for her.

I got Hannah weighed today! Does anyone else still do that? At 50 weeks old she is 24lb exactly. Wow. She is not that tiny helpless newborn anymore!

highlandbird · 14/03/2012 14:40

What's a BFP???

haloflo · 14/03/2012 14:50

BFP = Big Fat Positive on a pregnancy test. Smile

sam26oscar · 14/03/2012 18:20

Happy Birthdya to all the upcoming Yearbies!!!
Am also LOVING all the BFP on here at the mo... won't be from me but am looking forward to hearing all about the news on here from the PG ladies... how will you cope with 2 threads to follow!!??
Can't stop it is meant to be bath time but OSCAR AT A FRIENDS AND AM JUST WAITING FOR HIM TO BE DROPPED HOME BEFORE we go upstairs....sorry about the capitals am in a hurry as cassie in kitchen and all is quiet...........Wink!!

eversomuch · 14/03/2012 19:04

Happy birthday to all the babies! What a difference a year makes, eh?

Lozario, I hope Lara is finally on the mend. Sounds like you've had a really rough few weeks.

Congratulations Superpenguin! I hope everything goes really well for you. As for me, was at the EPU twice last week, intrauterine pg confirmed but still too early to see anything (prob only 5 or 6 wks right now). Going back in two weeks and hoping we'll see a heartbeat then and finally get an EDD!

Sorry for the fly-by but the in-laws are arriving from the States tomorrow morning and we are so not ready!

highlandbird · 14/03/2012 21:40

oh wow, huge congrats superpenguin thats fab news!!! :)

sittinghippo · 15/03/2012 11:19

Wow Halo! Hannah is growing well - I had Bethany weighed today, at 1 year exactly, she is just shy of 18lbs. Bless her - she looks like a proper little cheeky monkey in all of your pictures, and always smiling! Grin

Congratulations Superpenguin, more exciting news!

How many BFPs have we got then?
I'd love to do it again, but there is no way, maybe in a decade I'll think about it.

Have just signed up to start at college in September, as I want to start on my journey to becoming a midwife. So that is me signed up to study for at least 5 years, and then a few years actually working would be nice, before I can consider having more children. (never say never - I like the idea of having a ten year gap and then having two more). Who knows though - 10 years is a long way off.

ckny1 · 15/03/2012 13:24

Wow, 2 pregnancies??? Congrats Superpenguin ! A friend just told me today that she's having twins, and another friend is preggers, so very exciting indeed. I predict another pregnancy on this thread very soon (NOT me!) :)

Happy B-day Bethany and the March 15th babies (whose mummies are MIA)!

Franz's first b-day in Germany with the ILs was perfect! He loved all the attention and toys. The travel itself, not so perfect this time. The cross-Atlantic part was a bit too much for him (and us). The good thing is that he is finally sleeping through the night again (well, until at least 5am), yeah! He received gorgeous toys and clothes from the ILs, which makes me feel even more guilty about only getting him some non-toxic crayons and a sketch pad Blush. Daddy thinks I got too much! Confused

Petty, too funny about A taking the house down! F empties all the bookshelves in the house, too, so we have big suitcases and chairs blocking them, though he manages to find a way. It seems our LOs are very set in their ways and independent, which is nice in so many ways, though I'm also frightened of what's to come! ;) It wouldn't be so bad if he weren't so strong and HEAVY! Geeze, I can't carry him anymore! Today he walked from the dining room table to the sofa, which is exciting for us and him, but he's super-clingy these days and I feel so bad about my whimpy-ness.

Am impressed by how much many of you get done in the day. Work, other children, DIY and websites...I am still stressed about taking a shower and making dinner. What am I doing wrong?!?!

Aside from that, these days are quite fun with my chunky monkey.

Lozario · 16/03/2012 09:00

Greetings from Lozario's Emporium of Germs :( Still no better here, we've been to no playgroups or playdates all week, have been sleeping with DS1 who isn't as brave as his baby sister about being ill, "Oh mummy another bogey! MY EYES MUMMY MY EYES!!!" Hmm but I'm really hoping Lara is on the mend now, which means DS1 must have another 3 or 4 days of it. We went back to the docs yesterday for a swab (of the EYE - gross!) as eyedrops haven't been touching it. I do hope Lara has turned a corner now. I am SO tired. DS missing a birthday party today too :-(

ckny Glad F had a great birthday! We're not even getting Lara an actual present! Putting money in her account as she's missed out on the govt grant that DS1 got that they have abolished now. Am hoping everyone else gets her cute little clothes etc. You're so brave with all the jetting about - I'm stressing about going to Norfolk for Easter!!! Blush

sitting a midwife, how exciting! Are you already a nurse? I'm starting to think about re-training, still like the idea of being a breast-feeding consultant type person. Also - my mum had a ten year gap between me and my brother and then my very littlest brother - she said it was great, we came home from school around the time she was getting fed up of the baby so she'd just pass him over and we'd entertain him as she cooked tea! He was VERY spoilt though!

superpenguin CONGRATS!!!!! Best wishes for your pregnancy. I hope you don't all disappear to other threads you preggers girls! Wink

everso hope you're still keeping well. Good luck with the outlaws - what do you have planned? Are you going to tell them?

Birthday party as Lara was born on April Fools Day, we're having a sort of Mad Hatters Tea party.Dressing her up as Alice in Wonderland and DS as the Dormouse (aka Big Bad Mouse from Gruffalo!!!)

Right time for her morning nap as she woke at 5.45am Hmm

Have great weekends all xxxx

ckny1 · 16/03/2012 14:20

Oh, Lozario, it sounds like you need a big break, and hopefully Norfolk will provide some rest. Poor LOs, too! The b-day plans sound super-fun and the experience itself will be a fab gift! :)

Question about water: how much are your LOs drinking per day? F drinks about 4- 6 oz. Still not reducing his milk, though! Will introduce cow's milk next week at lunch, fingers crossed...

Another week of flooded chest from teething drool, poor guy. The amber necklace is working, in that it makes him look like a hippie more than anything else! ;)

Lozario · 18/03/2012 08:45

Happy mothers day everyone!!! Flowers

Medee · 18/03/2012 13:34

Congratulations SuperPenguin!

Happy mother's day everyone Thanks

Lozario · 18/03/2012 19:16

Ah yes well done Medee Thanks was what I was looking for! Blush

highlandbird · 21/03/2012 09:09

hope you all had good mother's days?! I got a card and coffee in bed (and tea cooked for me) which is more than I can wish for really!!
Angus had a great birthday, although my grandfather died in the morning so I had an awful day. No big party here but I made a cake and some family came round.
Having to make the epic drive to Wales tonight for the funeral, decided to leave at his bedtime so hopefully he will sleep in the car, bleurgh, we both have awful colds again to, he keeps waking with a nasty cough.
Our lovely holiday seems a distant memory now......

On the plus side he is now pulling himself to stand (if there is something out of reach that he REALLY wants!!!)
Hope the birthdays are all going well. x

eversomuch · 21/03/2012 21:01

So sorry about your grandfather, highland. I hope the journey to Wales goes smoothly and that you have a chance to celebrate his life.

Sabine turned one yesterday. We had a lovely day at home with her grandparents, who are visiting from America and who brought way too many presents for her. I'm making a big effort to keep her off of sugar for as long as possible (I have a horrible sweet tooth and hope to not pass it along), so she had a birthday fruit salad with fresh strawberries and blueberries and whipped cream and a sparkly candle. She was delighted and we had lots of fun.

The grandparents looked after her for most of the day today and DH and I went to lunch and the theatre! First time we've been out together on a proper date in over a year!

ckny I'm not sure exactly how much water S drinks these days. We fill her sippy cup every morning and she drinks a good amount, but I'm afraid it's less than 4oz. Not sure how to get her to take more. She's been in a fussy stage lately and really into her milk again.

Hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day. Quiet day here; received a lovely box of chocolate that I've made a significant dent in already.

ckny1 · 23/03/2012 01:10

Highland, sorry to learn of your grandfather and hope you and your family are all well. Congrats to Angus on the standing!

Ever, happy birthday to Sabine! I'm doing the same with keeping Franz away from the sugar and salt as much as possible in hopes that he won't know what he's missing...though I hope I'm not going overboard. Your date with DH sounds divine. We're still waiting for such an opportunity...so many friends have offered, but it doesn't seem right.

We've cautiously started on whole milk, I'm mixing it with formula. He seems not to mind, though is still gulping down more than the doctor thinks he should (32 oz/day)! :( It's either that or no sleeping through the night.

The weather is very hot and summery here, with hints of spring. I fear the hot & humid months to come and am longing for the mild London weather!

Happy Mother's Day to all (2nd year with no acknowledgement, though this year I'll let it pass since we don't celebrate it until May).

pettyprudence · 26/03/2012 20:12

Hello Everyone!

I keep thinking I have posted on here but seem to get distracted and forget to actually post my message!

Happy birthday to all the babies - where has the last year gone????? Arthur is one on friday and we are having 2 parties over the weekend (I'm exhausted just thinking about it).

Not sure if we are getting closer to walking yet. He seems to get a bit over excited to keep upright.... I'd quite like him walking by the time we go away in 6 weeks so he can wear shorts without me worrying about his knees. On our way to our first word other than mumma though. He's trying very hard to say cat and chases our two or follows them with his gaze ALL the time. The cats are most pissed off/terrified Grin. He's also saying "bear bear" a lot but I don't know what the feck that's supposed to mean bless him.

I've started a new job, 2 days a week but its quite flexible and also trying to launch my own business. In retrospect it might have been easier to do this when Arthur was a newborn and just lay still! I thought things would get easier as he got older but bloody hell is he hard work now!

Right better get back to said business otherwise I won't have any products for my "official" launch!

Kagey · 26/03/2012 20:51

Happy birthday Arthur for Friday. Elise is 1 tomorrow Shock and we had a birthday tea this afternoon for relations who can't make her party on Saturday. She seemed Confused by the whole happy birthday singing and cake, but was woofing down the cake shortly after.

Her big sister was more concerned about getting a party bag Hmm.
