petty that's weird I think we did last bf yesterday too! Feel same as you - bit sad but it was time for us. Get you with your late night!! Nearly midnight lady!!!

sam26oscar · 12/04/2012 14:39

petty and lozario do they have milk from a bottle/cup before bed or just straight down?? I am still missing bf!!

Cassie would go apes**t if i didn't give her milk before she goes to bed!!!As soon as she's out of the bath and dressed she signs milk frantically !!
She goes down wide awake chatting away to her "sophies" they are the sophie la giraffe softy comforter with a loop for the dummy to be attatched, she loves her!!! But they are very expensive so they stay in her cot and never come out!! Not even if she's poorly! she can have a "moo" instead, (muslin!!) funny how nicknames are attatched to things! Oscar has always called his Muslins moos!!

Well, not much news i still have a coold Sad, but on the plus side either i am so tired from it or she isn't waking but the last copule of nights she's slept thru!! She had a bit of a blip when we got back from Cornwall but hopefully....!! I don't let her have so much sleep during the day now as it does sem to make a difference. She has max of 2hrs and awake no later than 3pm for a 7pm bedtime! She would sleep 3hrs if i let her i'm sure!!
I have made a fish pie for tea today, Cassie hates fish, well, she did last few times i tried but thought i would try again as their tastbuds change every few weeks i think!! Oscar loves it so at least it won't go to waste Grin. I think fish is the only thing she really refuses to try/eat...whats your LO's absolute no-no?? Her favourite things are orange, kiwi, blueberries, pineapple (all have to be eaten off a fork Confused ) and any type of rice!

well, just waffling now Grin

.
petty and purple think we are overdue a meet up @jump now Grin. PM thru FB any dates you are free over next few weeks Smile.

cup of tea, choc biscuit and Escape to the country, nosey bugger me!! love looking at other peoples houses!!!!

haloflo · 12/04/2012 14:46

Grin and Sad for the weaning babies. No chance here, I have a boob addict!

Hannah is sleeping a little better (2-3 wake ups) after a rough week last week (high temp, then teething & sleeping hell) Weirdly the molar seems to have broken through last night when we had a pretty good night.

No walking, just cruising. And biting. She will bite anything and everthing. Except my boobs, she isn't that daft.

sam Hope you feel less sore soon. I once bumped my coccyx as a child. I thought i'd never be able to walk again, it was awful.

lozario Hannah loves to sleep on her tummy. This started maybe 2 months ago? On her tummy, bum in the air. Hopefully if you leave Lara she will start to find her own way back or get a new comfortable position. Hannah is demanding too. She points and goes "urrrrgh" and gets mad if I don't know what she means. And fights nappy changes like i'm hurting her. At least she naps well (and I love her fat little face)

Which centre parcs you off to? We are going in May too but guessing as we are much further north it won't be the same one. I'm already planning my spa day...

StealthToddler · 12/04/2012 15:23

Petty he still needs you!!!! am going through the same emotions right now.... down to just one morning feed and I don't think he really needs it but we both love the snugglyness....

eversomuch · 12/04/2012 19:25

Wow, the end of BFing for some of you. Part of me really wants to get there soon, and part of me doesn't mind carrying on as long as S is interested. She still feeds after breakfast and before bed, and sometimes after lunch if we're home for her pm nap as well as during the night if she wakes up, which is only occasionally now. She has absolutely no interest in drinking cow's milk (though I give it to her in her breakfast cereal/porridge) and she eats more natural yogurt than anyone I have ever met. If anyone encounters a shortage of the stuff in North London, it's probably her fault. I've tried several different sippy cups, trying to get her to take milk, but she just won't go for it. She drinks water during the day, but not much of that either -- maybe 2 or 3 ounces. Any suggestions on how to get her to take more and drink milk would be appreciated!

sam Hope you're almost over your cold and are feeling better after the coccyx crisis.

lozario Re: MMR, S had hers about two weeks ago. She was absolutely fine but did develop a very faint rash around her neck about 3 days later. Didn't get too fussy or anything, though, which was a huge relief.
Re: tummy sleeping, I used to flip S back over when she started doing it at three months bc she couldn't turn from her tummy to her back for a long time, but that would only wake her up, so I eventually took a deep breath and stopped.
Re: the "Wonder Weeks" There's one at 55 weeks (but I think the fussy period starts a few weeks before that) and then another around 64 weeks or so.
I hope you manage to get a bit of a break for yourself soon -- sounds like you really deserve it. I'm already feeling a bit daunted by the idea of being a SAHM of two soon.

Sabine is signing a lot now. Yesterday I said I was going to wash my hands, and she signed washing hands even though I had only shown her it once. She signs brushing teeth and eating, too. She says "yum" and "uh-oh" and a few other little things. She still only has four teeth and even the top ones aren't fully in after two months. Crazy! Still chews on everything though, so really hoping she'll get a bunch very soon. Cruising lots but not walking on her own yet; still likes to hold both my hands when we walk together, gets worried if I only offer one.

In other news, I'm now 10 weeks with DC2 and have my 12-wk scan later this month. Have been pretty exhausted and nauseated and not spending much time online, and mostly lurking when I am around. I'm back to sleeping when S sleeps during the day so am getting even less accomplished than usual. Fx for a rebound in energy in a few weeks, although last time I felt ill until around 16 weeks.

OK, off to make dinner while the thought doesn't make my stomach turn. Hope you all have lovely evenings.

sam26oscar · 12/04/2012 21:06

Thanks everso and haloflo butt is still really sore Sad. Am going to go to the Drs i think, not really sure thaty they will/can do anything but surely it should be getting better after nearly 2 weeks?? Really am struggling getting off things.i.e the car and the sofa...mind you being glued to the sofa all day.........................!!

ckny1 · 13/04/2012 13:45

Everso, I always wondered how a pregnant mum could manage to nap for 4 hrs in the day (as I used to) with another DC running about! Hope the nausea goes away soon!

Sam, did the dr visit help? Is there physio available for this? Sympathy pains as I sit...

And big hugs to all that are going through weaning pains. I still remember when one of you mentioned crying for one week during DC1's weaning. I shared that with a mum friend here who had no idea that that's why she was so down and it made her feel more "normal".

Halo, Franz sleeps with his bum in the air, too! Amazing I haven't pinched it!

Lozario, the little Master whined a lot during his 1st train ride b/c needed his nap, but fortunately he slept in his car seat in the train on the way home (despite standing room only). I'm with you on the SAHM exhaustion thingy.

I think I finally have meals/snacks down so that my poor DS is finally well-fed! However, now he's simply used to waking up a few times a night just asking for his bottle for the hell of it. I will insist on the sippy cup only today if he wants his milk! Looks like I need to start reading up on sleep solutions! :(

Otherwise, loads of fun here with him walking like a drunkard, pointing at all the birds outside, and turning the house upside down! :) I feel more confident taking him out in the sling for a few hours at a time so I ventured downtown this week to the cooler part of town (so sterile up here!) on the subway and went to a new Thai restaurant where the owner literally took F from my hands and said "you eat and I watch him!" and he was thrilled to see someone else's face for a change! :)

Now if DH and I could only find someone to babysit for our anniversary later this month...may need to be a brunch date instead of dinner.

Lozario · 13/04/2012 13:56

halo we're going to the Elvesden one (Suffolk) on the week beginning 14 May - what about you? Would be cool if the same, we could meet up!

pettyprudence · 13/04/2012 20:07

I know A still needs me, but BF was something only I could do. We're both ready to end it but I'm sad none the less.

Sam A hasn't had any kind of milk feed at bed time since he was about 5 months old - I had to force him to BF for a good month or so before that and gave up the fight. He just didn't want to feed before bed. He's a wierdo sometimes Grin. He has a late tea though to see him through the night.
Hope your bum feels better soon!

Milk/Cups - A doesn't really have milk in a cup as I give him soya or oatly. He finally "got" the sippy cup about 4-6 weeks ago after I put chocolate oatly milk in it and he was desperate to drain it Blush. He has really upped his fluid in-take too over the last few weeks when I have been diluting juice in his cup. He has got the hang of a doidy cup now too, it just goes a bit tits up when he's not paying attention putting it back down on the table Hmm

Food - Arthur loves Banana and pretty much anything sweet (oops) - he's just discovered chocolate! He only really objects to rice and anything TOO spicy, like tonights chili which to be fair was almost painful to eat (I went a bit OTT with the chili)

Halo you would think I was torturing Arthur when I changed his nappy or got him changed. Absolutely fine as soon as its finished Hmm He's been like this for months now but having his nappy changed used to be his all time favourite thing! I think its the whole keeping still part he objects too.

A has taken one or two steps unaided but he's really not sure about it! I want him to get his bum in gear before we go away next month!

Right, that's my mammoth post done Grin, over and out

FaceCrack · 17/04/2012 11:19

Oh boy I've found you. You went off my active convos.

I've name changed (was cheese)

Have ha a quick squizz at recent posts. Hooray for walking, talking babies! Hope the weaning is going Ok for those who want to wean.

Whats going on here? I'm back at work and loving the combination of part time work and motherhood. It is really hard work and I'm exhausted most evenings. I'm back running and doing race for life soon. We are thinking about TTC number 2 soon, maybe start middle of this year. Congrats to all those pregs with the next one!

Isobel is fab. She's just getting over a diarrhoea bug. She let vomiting in her sleep but not making any noise / crying. The first we'd know about it was when we went to check on her. Bloody awful. Anyway she seems to be on the mend today.

She's got 12 teeth, molars don't seem to have bothered her too much. She's pretty chatty - has lots of animal noises, brums at cars, says hi, bye, uh oh, up, duck. She also picks up her shoes and carries them to the door when she wants to go out! The endless climbing is a bit of a problem so she's got lots of bumps.

Food wise she's brilliant. I can't think of anything she won't eat. She eats 3 meals a day, 2 snacks. She ha a beaker of cows milk in the morning and we are sticking with a bottle at bedtime. She was really quite chunky but a combination of illness and constant running has meant she's slimmed down a lot.

Childcare is costing us a fortune (nanny share) so no big holidays planned. Will pop to the south coast for a week in July if it's not too wet.

Right I will catch up with rest of thread over her lunchtime nap. Take care all!

sam26oscar · 17/04/2012 21:18

We're nearing the end of the line on this thread ladies...where is geeklove we need her to start a new one Grin

i think i have a slow learner on my hands!!! reading all the posts about babies chatting and teething!! cassie has only got 5 teeth and can only really say Mummy and Nanana and Ta. Still, it makes a nice change from Oscar who at this age (14 months next weekShock) was doing 2 piece jigsaws and all shapes in his shape sorter without help. So its nice to have a lazy one haha!! Although she may be lazy she certainly has a temper..or is it "personality" If she doesn't want to do it, she won't!! Whereas Oscar was very placid that way!

Back to school for us tomorrow, half of me is Thank God, and the other half is oh Sad. Why is it they are always so much better behaved the couple of days before they go back??

Currently sat on Cassies swim ring to alleviate my broken butt!!! Still not any better but have been to Dr and if not better in 2 weeks to go back again. its been very frustrating not being able to drink my morning cup of tea and custard creams read quietly before the children wake up as i can't sit in bed as the pressure on my butt hurts !!

Watched the film Water for elephants last night...ahh it was a lovely ending!!!

Well, seeing as Oscar has been in bed and asleep since 7.15pm for the first time since Goodness knows when i am off to watch t.v in bed Grin

Night all! x

Lozario · 17/04/2012 21:33

Oooh Sam I'm well jel that you wake before the kids! Wld love a lie-in from mine! Lara is back to waking around 6am so I'm retrying to go without morning nap as its interfering with DS's playgroup routine, but she really struggles to go longer than 4 hours awake still Hmm

We're slowly getting back to normal after weekend away - Lara still seems unsettled going to bed though and cries for 10-15 mins, but maybe that's because she's learnt to sit up or stand up in her sleep bag and I have to go in and put her back down at least once! Plus, sharing a room with her brother doesn't help - he shouts NO BE QUIET LALA!!!! Hmm I don't understand why she's suddenly so unsettled going to bed - but I have to say, the Wonder Weeks thing does tally with her behaviour!

DH and I just shared a bottle of wine and drunkenly talked about possibility of another baby - could only be in 2yrs though as we have no room as it stands. And I have no energy!!

cheese good to see you again Grin
