I have seen my little wriggly baby Grin

mumoverseas · 27/06/2011 17:24

Grin fab news MS, how many weeks now? x

4 more sleeps.....................

Calico1 · 27/06/2011 18:19

I'm not stressing about potty training Lilian. DS was quite late (nearly three) but it was really, really easy as it was definitely what he wanted to do and he hardly had any accidents. I watched lost of mums struggling to potty train toddlers who has only turned two and they seemed to have months of stress but got to the same stage as DS at about the same time. Lilian is keen to wear her 'pretty pants' over her nappy but only so that she can show everyone (lots of lifting up her skirt in Tesco to show strangers her pants Blush).

Re: meet up - I can do any daytime meet up in the last two weeks of August except Fridays. Evenings are more tricky to be honest.

So humid here - must be storm soon, the clouds are gathering.

MS - hope the scan went well.

SilveryMoon · 27/06/2011 20:09

MS aaaawwwwwwwww Smile

Jacob was done and dry by this age.
I'll just leave Luke as he is, in a pull up and gentle encouragement. At least he's doing it in the potty at home.

Far too hot here today.

MarkStretch · 28/06/2011 06:48

Scan was really good and they put me a week ahead of where I thought I was so that was nice!

They scanned me twice in the end as they forgot to measure the nuchal fold so I got to see him/her twice, even better. I have already got some sarcastic comments on FB, we should buy a TV, we are doing our bit to populate the world, etc..

I guess I should get used to that but it's quite annoying that people feel they can freely comment on the amount of children you have!

Interesting note for all of us who had BP problems last time around- my BP is fine so far (think the weightloss helped) but my consultant said even though I am not taking any BP meds and it is fine at the mo, they recommend that any women who have had BP problems in previous pregnancies take a low dose aspirin for the duration of any subsequent pg's. Apparently this is to ensure adequate blood flow to the placenta.

I still haven't joined the new ante-natal group, I might just bang on about it on here until you all get bored of me.

dinkystinky · 28/06/2011 10:06

Ok - meet ups: I will try to organise an evening one (Swampster - there will be wine... dangles the bottle invitingly to coax the lesser spotted Swampy out of hiding). Can one of you (maybe MOS, SM or Calico) try to organise a day time one which hopefully more people plus nippers can make too?

MS - the scan sounds lovely and great to see the baby twice! Ignore all the stupid comments on FB etc - they're dunderheads!! Would be lovely to hear all about your pregnancy on here (make us reminiscent of this time 3 years ago!) - so pleased you're not suffering BP issues this time round. Hopefully this pregnancy will be a breeze for you.

Its my 8th wedding anniversary today - our nanny is looking after the boys tonight so DH and I can go out for dinner. Yippee!

Awwwww MS lovely to hear about your scan. How exciting, please do keep us updated on pregnancy progress - makes me all nostalgic.

Happy anniversary Dinky! Enjoy an uninterrupted dinner tonight.

oooggs · 28/06/2011 12:21

ms - just sent you an fb request cos I am interested in your pregnancy (as I am not having another one) !!!!

oooggs · 29/06/2011 12:43

hope you and dh had a lovely anniversary dinky

SilveryMoon · 29/06/2011 17:08

Meet-up
What about Wednesday 10th August at Corums Field? is pretty central after all, easy for me to get train and then bus.
Or what was that place mos suggested? What did we think to that? Although, is there a bus route from the station? Not sure me and my 2 would fit in your new merc mos Wink
I can do pretty much any day after 22nd July and before 5th September.

I will do my best to make evening meet up as would be good to have a few Wine with you all. It's just the cost of travelling plus drinks in central London Shock unless we find a working mans club to get into where half a pint is £1 Wink

MarkStretch · 29/06/2011 20:14

Ooooo I can make it down from Naaarfolk on that day! I wouldn't be able to do an evening one as would have to get the train down and back in a day so would be a long day for us anyway but we would love to come.

SilveryMoon · 29/06/2011 21:00

Lovely. So that's 1 for August 10th. Let's just hope it's ok for everyone else.........

mumoverseas · 30/06/2011 03:50

Have put 10th in diary. DC3 and 4 are booked to go to a nursery on Monday and Wednesday mornings but hopefully the nursery will let them swop that day.

SilveryMoon · 30/06/2011 08:01

Fingers crossed mos I am really looking forward to seeing you again!!
If not, can you do any other day MS?
dinky When did you say you were going on hols? I just picked a date out of thin air yesterday as no one had commented after you'd asked one of us to plan it. I forgot about you not being available for much. What dates can you make?
And would others prefer one of those dates?

dinkystinky · 30/06/2011 10:03

I'm on holiday the first 2 weeks of August SM so wont be able to make that date - but daytime meet ups during the week are out for me anyway due to evil work, so you should definitely go for the 10th!

Will put my thinking hat on for somewhere cheap and cheerful for an evening meet up. You come into Waterloo right? MoS - where do your trains come into?

OP posts:
mumoverseas · 30/06/2011 11:27

Sad but dinky you are the glue that holds us together!

I get the train into Victoria if that helps. Is that quite central for everyone? That place we met last time was luverly.

I need help. I need a new name by this time tomorrow otherwise I will be misrepresenting myself Grin

dinkystinky · 30/06/2011 11:45

Nah MoS, I'm just someone who rambles away to herself on here to keep the tumbleweed company Grin

New name - you could go for your "pornstar name" (name of first pet and mother's maiden name)? Or the name of the first single you ever bought. Or, having seen your FB status last night, how about MercMama? Grin

OP posts:
SilveryMoon · 30/06/2011 11:45

mos ReturnOfTheMum you know like return of the mac.......only thing I can think of that ties in with you coming home. Or InlandMum, Or just use mosuk so people still know who you are, no one would have to know that mos stands for mum overseas, you'll just be mosuk.

dinky such a shame re work. Can't you call in sick Wink
Yes, my train comes in at waterloo, but easy enough to get elsewhere from there.

MarkStretch · 30/06/2011 17:55

I can do another day, to be honest I am quite free in the summer holidays apart from the first week when we are in France.

I just looked at the 10th for train tickets and it looked reasonable and affordable!

SilveryMoon · 30/06/2011 20:24

ok, so we need to know if mos can swap her fc's nursery day or if she'd prefer another day.
What about a weekend so dinky can join us? Or will everywhere be horribly packed on weekends? I also don't fancy that journey on a saturday, but would do it.
Swampy? You out there? Are you free?
Any other fab febbers lurking?

swampster · 30/06/2011 21:54

I almost never plan anything that far in advance BUT 10 August is the one day I am being host to hordes of little toddler friends of DS3.

SilveryMoon · 01/07/2011 07:16
Sad Let's change the day then. What's good for you? and MOS? MS?
dinkystinky · 01/07/2011 09:12

Dont plan for a weekend just so I can attend - if midweek works best for everyone happy to go along with it! And if I can by some miracle make it, I will do.

Swampy - what about 9th or 11th August then?

OP posts:
Calico1 · 01/07/2011 11:21

Hi - I can do the 9th or 11th Aug. Weekends possible too but it'll be busy at Corams Fields...

DS (4) has just asked me 'who invented the word hello'. Yesterday's question was 'what does understand mean?'. I'm finding it difficult to answer him at 4, what's it going to be like at 14?

DH has been away this week, MIL just phoned up to see how I'd been coping without his 'help'. Err, well it's like having two pre-school children instead of three Wink.
