I would join the January one!!! Because it is much nicer to be one of the first having a baby than one of the last. Mine pair were due in April (Love the April 07 mums) but I knew they would be out in March (29th) so only just.

I joined the Fab febbers and Luke came in January!! DS1 was also due in January but came in December. I don't seem to have my children in the month they were due Wink

dinkystinky · 17/07/2011 21:40

Wowsers 4 months already Markstretch - that has flown by! Would say join the delightful dec thread rather than the joyful jan thread if you know you're going to be giving birth in december for sure. SM - lovely to see you on. Congratulations on your job come September- am sure Luke will love nursery. How are the driving lessons going?

Was at MILs in Brighton today for her 65th birthday. She has a lovely garden (was supposed to be a garden party) - which is accessed by a side gate from a shared drive off a quiet residential road. She has a garage which has a bust side door (has been bust for the last 12 years DH and I have been together) and has a spare fridge and freezer and furniture etc in it and a shed with her gardening tools and garden furniture in it. At lunchtime she went out to the garage fridge to get some food for the garden party she was holding this afternoon for her birthday (which was v soggy due to all the rain) only to find she'd been burgled - some fuckers had gone in, taken all the food out of the freezer and fridge, the wine and beer in there - and gone into her shed and stolen her tools (worth probably £200 in total new but all used and dirty) last night while we were all sleeping! She was really shaken - especially as she's normally on her own in the house (or just her and a language student ever so often). Such a horrible thing to happen on her birthday. Just glad we were all there when she found out. She got her cousin to put some padlocks on the doors so if the bastards do come back for the rest of the stuff they'll have to break in and made sufficient noise for her and her neighbours to hear them.

Fuckers indeed Dinky!

(I have joined the Dec thread, eeeeek!)

dinkystinky · 17/07/2011 22:11

Bet it all feels very real now Markstretch. How are DD and DSD feeling about the expanding brood? Offering themselves up for babysitting duties?

Still hasn't really sunk in for me to be honest dinky, the girls just said 'PLEASE let it be a girl this time!'

Dh just keeps giggling. We've decided as this will be our last one we aren't going to find out what it is at the 20 week scan and have a nice surprise instead. Dh would like to be the one to tell me when he/she is born Smile Hope our willpower holds out I scan day!

SilveryMoon · 18/07/2011 08:36

Swampy I don't think there's any chance of me finishing a book in a month Sad so I'll have to pass Sad

dinky driving lessons are on hold until there is some spare cash floating around!
Your poor MIL, that is really awful. Glad you were all there for her though.

MS That's lovely, having dp tell you what it is at birth. Goodluck!

swampster · 18/07/2011 20:58

Dinky - your poor MIL! What an awful thing to happen on her birthday.

SM - great news about the job

dinkystinky · 20/07/2011 11:46

Hello all - v quiet on the board. Hope everyone is well.

Markstretch, MoS - let me know if you do want to do the book swap thingy by the end of the month (if you dont no worries - we have reserves in the side lines who I'll draft in to replace you). Kind of understand how you may be a tad busy with 4 - or nearly 4 - kids to corral...

Evening.
Went to have a look at the day nursery today. Luke was straight off playing with the toys, so am feeling ok about sending him (atm).
He is now registered and will start on 5th Sept.
Jacob met his new teacher for next years yesterday and said he likes her.
Got his school report today and he is doing well, so am very pleased.
Not much else to report really.
Hope everyone else is well.

MarkStretch · 20/07/2011 21:01

I had forgotten how much my back hurts when I am pregnant- owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

The other night I had to crawl across the floor and hold on to the wall to get up and go for a wee! I had lifted the big huge toddler out of the car earlier on in the day and must have pulled something.

Ow.

SilveryMoon · 21/07/2011 01:18

Oh MS, be careful! Hope you're ok x

dinkystinky · 21/07/2011 10:34

Ouch MS - that sounds really painful. Have you had a referral to a physio? If not, get one and quick!

Glad Luke liked his nursery day and J is doing well at school SM. Must be such a relief. Is the new school you're going to be working at nearer to your house?

OP posts:
SilveryMoon · 21/07/2011 10:53

Yes dinky It took me 10 minutes to get there.
It's much closer and a lady that lives in my building works there too, so am hoping to bum a lift Wink

dinkystinky · 21/07/2011 11:01

Brilliant! Sounds like its all coming together perfectly.

Ergh, morning. DS has been up since 5.15am. We have got a wedding today and I am knackered already!

Been to the midwife this week and it would seem I am anaemic so she has prescribed me liquid iron- it is mint chocolate flavour and taste RANK. Like licking a wet dog. Hopefully it will start to make me feel a little less washed out soon though.

Did we decide on a meet-up date?

dinkystinky · 23/07/2011 13:37

Mark stretch - sounds like a steak and oj diet might be more fun for you! Hope the wedding goes ok and you don't fall asleep in the congregation. Think it's SM and MoS organising the daytime meet up.

mumoverseas · 23/07/2011 16:39

hello all, just checking in briefly now I'm finally back home having driven through 7 counties today!
ooogs you didn't get in touch Sad I'm sure I was down your way!

dinky bastards, what a horrible thing to happen

SM well done on job, suppose I ought to start looking for one as DH hasn't got one yet [panicking like shit emotcion]

MS ooh, well done you not finding out what flavour, hope you resist the temptation at your scan

SilveryMoon · 23/07/2011 16:45

Well, I wouldn't say organising, I'm not sure what's happening or if we settled on a date..............

I had to have another smear test today. I've been having irregular bleeding for a few months now and it's mostly like a period every other week, so I made an appointment and went today.
She said that when she touched my cervix, it started bleeding.
I'm a bit worried, but sure it's ok.
She can't really say anything until the results come back, but I had a smear last year which came back normal, so there can't be that huge a change, can there?

mumofsussex · 23/07/2011 16:48

twirls to try out new name and wonders if arse looks big in this?

SM fingers crossed for you. I had an abnormal one a few years ago but nothing was actually wrong, think they just f/mucked it up. Hopefully you'll get the result and peace of mind soon. Did they say how long you will have to wait? That reminds me, I've had two reminders/chasers that I'm overdue for one Sad By the way, no chance you could be pregnant is there?

SilveryMoon · 23/07/2011 16:55

Ooohhhhh mos I LOVE the new name! That's handy, to live somewhere beginning with s.
Don't know how long I'll have to wait.
I hate smears, apparently, my cervix is awkward to get too Hmm so it normally really hurts, but this doctor was really good. By far the best internal exam I've had.
You should def go and get one done mos.
Re meet-up, did we decide a day?

mumofsussex · 23/07/2011 19:16

SM I know, I'd have had to have moved otherwise! Wink
I hate them too, in fact, surely EVERYONE must hate them, it is so undignified lying with legs around ears. Must get off arse and book mine though as at least they will stop writing to me. Will phone on Monday.

Not sure if anything definitely fixed for meet ups, day or night?

oooggs · 23/07/2011 19:30

MoS - I am so sorry not sure where the week went and I am not speaking to you anyway as you brought crap weather Wink
Last week was a very busy last week of term, ds1 has finished infants and dts have finished pre school (well monday am to go)

I am a SAHM at the moment. I worked with the other 3 and used a fab work based nursery but couldn't get Luke in. Hence a career break which I changed into redundancy. This is fine but I feel I have lost myself - anyway back to the point, it has made Luke a real 'I want MY mummy' over anybody else. Normal? I thought he would prefer everybody else as he is with me 24/7.

Who else is a SAHM? (if you don't mind saying) How has not working affected you or your children?

SilveryMoon · 23/07/2011 20:00

oooggs I'm a SAHM until Sept 5th when I start my new job.
I have the same thing, both of mine are very clingy to me. They don't listen to me though and I can struggle with their behaviour.
My Luke is especially clingy and moody and is not good with other people if I am around.
We're hoping that nursery will be good for him, that it will show him that he is still safe and looked after even when I am not there iyswim.
I did that 6 month stint of working recently and when I gave that up I quickly realised that I have had enough of being a SAHM. My children really stress me out, and as wonderful as they are, we need time away from each other to strengthen a positive relationship.
I've been a SAHM for the best part of 4 years, and it's not for me anymore.
