and breathe................
SM I feel for you, I've been pushed and pushed and pushed this week. Time out for 10 mins (you) then try to deal with them x

SilveryMoon · 29/07/2011 19:42

It's a good job dp got in when he did. I'd resorted to shutting myself in the kitchen Sad
I have failed terribly somewhere in the past 2.5 years.
Out of the 13 hours he was up for today, he must of screamed for at least 9 of them.

dinkystinky · 29/07/2011 19:55

SM - we all have days - and kids - like that! It IS just a phase and will pass. Sending you hugs and Wine

mumofsussex · 29/07/2011 20:20

SM which one? are you sure he is not in pain if he has seriously been screaming for that long? x

SilveryMoon · 29/07/2011 20:31

It's Luke. There's nothing wrong with him, he wants his own way and can't get it.

Calico1 · 29/07/2011 20:38

SM impressed that they can both dress themselves. I have been trying to get DS (4) to dress himself as he'll have to do this at school but he collapses in a sobbing heap if I suggest he might like to try to put on his own shorts.....sigh

Hope all ok with Jacob's X-ray.

I can probably get to Coram's Fields earlier but doubt I'll make 11am as will no doubt still be faffing with getting kids dressed at 10 Grin

DH is taking DS on a 'dads and lads' camping trip this weekend...slightly concerned that the arrangements seem mainly to involve which barrel of beer will be purchased from the local brewery....oh well, what is the worst that can happen? Please don't answer that.

SilveryMoon · 29/07/2011 21:00

lol Calico A boys weekend sounds good, I'm sure it'll all be fine.
Luke has a huge need for independence and hates me doing anything like that for him. The number of days we've gone out with his entire outfil on back to front, I couldn't tell you, but it's getting better now.
Ds1 has had to dress himself at nursery after PE so alot of it for him has come from there. He suffers lazyitis though, plus he gets really stressed if he gets his top stuck on his fat head Wink

oooggs · 30/07/2011 16:21

look I go out for the night and you lot strike up a conversation Grin

on 11th we will be in Lincolnshire staying with MIL - have fun - not that I was coming anyway Wink

Calico1 · 30/07/2011 21:17

I dropped DH and DS of at camping venue and it was already looking like a scene out of Lord of the Flies....boys climbing trees and running amok with sticks. DS is one of the youngest there so hope he is ok - not at all confident with DH's supervision skills after having drunk a share of the barrel of beer.

SilveryMoon · 31/07/2011 11:19

Hi.
Calico When are dh and ds back from camping? Hope it all went ok and they had a nice time.
Have just let STW know on fb about the meet-up. I might PM our members who are AWOL about it now actually

katieblirdsnest · 01/08/2011 12:29

Right, I need to jump back in (although that may mean me offloading a lot!) but need a new name as this is currently too obviously me to a certain few RL people.
StillOnTheLine I think. Will try and change at lunchtime

StillOnTheLine · 01/08/2011 13:57

Catching up on just this page for now.
SM what GP results are you waiting for? Hope it's all OK.
My DS is really independent and seems to be pretty physically able for his age too and just making that slight wrong move of 'helping' with something can send him into a complete strop. He can be so hilarious but SO grumpy too. Luckily not really screaming. Enough of the failing nonsense please.

MOS you're a different type of MOS! How exciting, I hope you're enjoying being back - it must be a very strange new way of life for all of you.

Calico, I've heard of a few Dad's camping trips lately. I can't imagine DP ever doing one of those although we're all going camping in Wales soon with my sisters and their families. I'm used to camping and know the kids will love it but God only knows how DP will get on.

I MAY be around on the 11th but will know better how work is panning out that week.

More later...

SilveryMoon · 01/08/2011 15:38

SOTL Hello Grin
Jacob (ds1) had some x-rays done on his legs because of a limp and some pain he has been having.
Would be good to see you on the 11th.

I had the results back from the smear, and it turns out they couldn't do it. There was a list of reasons as to why this may be, so will have to go and get it done again.
She did say if there was blood in it, they'd not be able to do it, but how can they get one without blood if my cervix bleeds when it's touched?
Will go again this week and see what happens.

We only have 3 fish left from 14.
Yesterday, I went into the kitchen on the phone, and when I came back to living room, the boys ahd thrown a plate of pasta bake, some baby wipes, a party bag and sweet wrappers into the fish tank.
Was awful! I couldn't even see through it. I scooped all the rubbish out and changed as much water as dp told me to (he was at work), but sadly most of them died.
Dp changed all the water and washed the tank out this morning, so the 3 surviving fish have gone into water that's not been cycled properly Sad, but figure they had a better chance of survival if all was cleaned.

oooggs · 02/08/2011 06:58

just seen some photos of Coram Fields on anothger mnetter's fb page - looks lovely and lots of fun

mumofsussex · 03/08/2011 20:58

SM poor fish, hope the surviving 3 make it.

So who is going to Coram fields on 11th, think its only SM and myself! Come on, where is everyone else?

Manic day today. Went out to lunch with a friend yesterday and when I got back DS1 casually mentioned (several hours after I got back) that Manchester airport had phoned and all my boxes would arrive Thursday! Shock
DH had (apparently!) been told by shipping company in KSA that they wouldn't be arriving for weeks and ideally, not til he was back. However, in true Saudi fashion the bastards have lied so I have 22 boxes (900 kilos) arriving tomorrow! So, a frantic morning emptying as much crap as we could in the garage and making room for it all. Its coming tomorrow between 9am and 5pm (most helpful!) so that will be fun. NOT

ooh, just had a call from my aunt (mum's sister who is over on a visit from Ireland) she went to the grave today (mum, dads & brothers) and the stone has finally been done Grin I went two weeks ago and was very upset as it was still not done and I found that really upsetting but it seems it has been done since Monday. So very pleased and relieved as we've had a year of arguments (with arse brother) about it.

right, trying to get H to sleep now

SilveryMoon · 03/08/2011 21:02

MOS Glad they've sorted Must make it a bit nicer.

Re Coram fields, I don't think I'll make it. Gotta get through the next 2 weeks on £100. Will be a struggle!

mumofsussex · 03/08/2011 22:04

oh ok, well I don't think anyone else was going anyway so will cancel. Suits me anyway as when my aunt phoned earlier it looked like the only day we could meet was next Thursday and at first I'd forgotten I'd made plans until DS1 reminded me. Pointless me going to CF if no one else going!

SilveryMoon · 03/08/2011 22:16

Oh, MOS I'm really sorry, I really bloody hate being in this position financially, hate it hate it hate it!!
But, if it means you and the dc's get to spend the day with your aunt, then that's nice.

SilveryMoon · 04/08/2011 09:32

Morning.
I just had a call from Jacob's gp. He has the x-ray report and it is showing that Jacob has a slightly titled pelvis and a deranged hip (doctors words, not mine) Sad
He is going to send off for a referral today and will hopefully be contacted by a pead clinic next week.
My poor baby. I feel awful for the months I've been shouting at him to stop whingeing and just walk Sad

oooggs · 04/08/2011 17:25

oh dear SM Sad poor Jacob, hope the job situation sorts itself out (I didn't realise how badly paid TA's were Sad) and also Sad that you are not having the meetup

sorry so many Sad faces

Calico1 · 04/08/2011 17:31

Oh SM that doesn't sound good Sad. Don't blame yourself, you weren't to know. Hope you get a referral quickly.

Shame about the 11th, I was looking forward to meeting you.

Hello SOTL ! Do fill us in on what you have been up to. Hope all is well.

DS and DH survived the camping trip, though not much sleep was had by anyone and I spent the next morning trying to get toasted marshmallow out of DS's hair. The camping field was next to an an ancient church and graveyard and it seems that the kids spent the evening running around the churchyard in the dark pretending to be ghosts....

SilveryMoon · 04/08/2011 19:08

lol Calico At least they all had fun.

I'm sure Ds1's thing sounds worse than it is. I hope so anyway.

StillOnTheLine · 05/08/2011 22:17

sm how awful about jacob's hip. Hope you get some treatment for it soon but please don't blame yourself for not knowing. It would certainly have sounded like a classic delaying tactic if it had come from one of mine when trying to get anywhere and def not something I'd be looking out for.

Sorry corams fields didn't come off this time but I'd be up for a cheap meet up one evening - maybe when holidays have settled down?

Talking of which, wheres the amazing dinky? Is she on holiday?

I've got another week at work then a week camping in Wales. Had 2 weeks in Thailand at Easter so wasn't planning on doing much this summer but have last minute arranged to go with my sisters. I feel completely under prepared but I'm sure it will be ok.

Marshmallow in hair sounds fun/painful,

MOS I'm so glad to hear the stone has been sorted at last and hope it gives you more comfort next time you visit.

Off to Lollibop on Sunday - a kid's 'festival' in regents park. Somehow think it will be a bit different from the festivals I was used to but think the kids will love it.

mumofsussex · 06/08/2011 09:24

SM am sure I sent you a FB message about J. Please do not blame yourself, you could not have known. I explained about DD1's hip, she had that problem (I'm sure it was that one) and she grew out of it. Ballet really did the trick for her but not sure you'd want J to do that Wink Main thing is, please try not to worry, get your appointment sorted, ask all the questions and see what the options are. I remember with DD they were reluctant to do anything surgical as it was a last resort but the ballet did the trick, maybe physio(sp?) or some set exercises might do the trick for J. Hope you get it sorted and can relax a bit and realise you cannot blame yourself.

Yes, is a shame about CF, we are losing so many people, where is everyone, have they got real lives? Envy

Lollibop sounds good, let me know what it is like. Am wondering if that is what DS1 might be going to. (working, not attending!) A good friend of mine has a friend who has a smoothie business and my friend's teenage daughter has been working for her up in the London Parks. She did the underage festival yesterday and has asked DS to help tomorrow. Am somewhat Shock that he is up for it as it will mean him leaving the house at 5am whereas most days I can't get him out of bed until lunchtime!

Am REALLY pissed with DH and it is becoming more and more obvious that we cannot carry on Sad I've often thought coming home would be the make or break, more likely break but now I realise it is 99% certain it will be break. He leaves his job end of month, has no job to go to and has now decided to buy ANOTHER CAR! We now have 3. We have the sensible 'family' car, his (stupid makes him think he is 20 again) car and he/we bought the 2nd hand convertible last month. I had thought that he would get rid of the stupid little boys car (subaru) and we'd have the 2 cars. Chances are, a job he got would either involve a company car or else he would be getting the train or walking if lucky enough to get one at a local company (there is a HUGE company 10 mins walk from home that specialises in his field so quite hopeful). Anyway, no, he saw a stupid twatting little boys car (the sort that is not sensible and practical - newer version of the stupid car he has now which he has conceeded is not comfortable and indeed, at easter he couldn't even drive it as it hurt his back getting in and out of it) so, if you are still with me, he saw it online, sent his friend to go and look at it and is buying it! HE IS A TWAT! He asked me what I thought, I told him (very politely for me that I did not think it was a good idea, it was not sensible/practical/comfortable and he hasn't got a job and we dont' need 4 cars) and he said he is buying it anyway. STUPID LITTLE BOY HE IS 45 not 25! Angry

Sorry for vent Sad

mumofsussex · 07/08/2011 08:15

OMG UPDATE DS 1 has not only managed to get his arse out of bed before midday, he has got up, left the house at 4.30am and got the train to London to work for a friend's friend! She owns a 'smoothie business' and is in several parks in London and he has gone to work with my friend's daughter who has done a few days with her. I AM IN Shock but also very proud. Hopefully he might get work over the next month or so before (hopefully) he goes to Uni which would be good to get some money behind him.
