Hello ladies, hope you found your way over here okay!

Our little newborns are newborns no more! :( :)

Hopefully a while yet before teething and weaning starts, but there's definitely a lot of wiggling and squealing going on already :o

I was bought daffodils this weekend.

Just saying.

So did you all have lovely Mothers days?

We went to an animal sanctuary and then for a drive in the country. We were going to stop at a pub for a drink but madam was asleep and I didn't like to wake her. She is now in bed and DP is cooking me a lovely meal so I'm not allowed in the kitchen. Hard life, ain't it?

RunningKatie · 18/03/2012 19:37

What beautiful daffodils! Grin

We put DD in the buggy this afternoon, she was asleep by the top of the road so the "walk" turned into a sprint to the pub for a quiet drink! DH was most chuffed.

RunningKatie · 21/03/2012 20:34

Sorry, killed the thread, Blush

DD obviously knows OBEM starts soon as the roaring from upstairs has just started.

gallicgirl · 21/03/2012 21:09

sorry, been busy dealing with a tummy bug.

Recycled milk the consistency of ricotta = not good

dioralyte = better

rice cakes = almost well.

Back to nursery tomorrow.

On the plus side, a couple of days off make me realise that part time could be fun after all.

Fuzzywood · 21/03/2012 21:35

Oh poor Alys, glad she's better now.
What is it about little people and yelling at the most inconvenient times? Hope you're getting to watch it Running. I'm not that in to this series may catch up on 4OD but don't seem to get the time.
Friend of mine had her little boy 5 weeks early on Tuesday. He's doing well, pretty tiny but not in SCBU anymore. I went and bought him a newborn outfit for him to wear in a few months I guess. It's so small, my 2 were too big for newborn stuff. I am determinedly not broody Grin

Flubba · 28/03/2012 18:09

hellooo? anyone still here and hanging on?

DH had a strike day today, and DD1's school was also closed, so we headed to West Wittering beach for the day - it was glorious sunshine and just perfect! Everyone looks very well weather beaten :)

How are you all doing? How are all your one year olds?

We're still here, had first midwife appt today, booked in for the 1st scan on Friday 13th - I nearly asked if we could change it to the Monday.

That sounds excellent progress jjkm, don't they say you need to offer food 10 times before they might take it? I know Iz can sometimes really surprise me by what she decides not to eat, but then she hoovers other stuff up without fuss. Tonight she's been stripping the top off homemade pizza and eating as many olives as I would give her!

OBEM tonight, I've not got my Freeview+ box, but definitely getting one.

Question - how do you stop your DC doing something? Iz has a magnetic attraction to the phone socket and unplugging the phone line. I keep saying "no" and moving her away, I could tape over it which would stop the problem but if it's not that then it'll be something else next.

Fuzzywood · 28/03/2012 20:54

Hi, I'm here too. We have a walking boy here now (well a wobble 3 or 4 steps and fall over boy at least) Grin. Strangely he took his first steps a week before turning 14 months which is exactly the same week as DD.
Sounds like good progress on the food front JJKM. Evan's current obsession is bananas, might explain all the climbing, half boy half monkey!
Beach sounds fab Bubba. Very jealous.
Told my boss I'll be leaving in Aug so he said to keep it quiet for now and he'll try and get me redundancy which would be fab.
Running, Ev is starting to understand the word no. Doesn't usually stop him mind Hmm. I'd keep up with it but try some distraction as well when she shows signs of getting interested in the phone. Evan does stop at first but then just can't help himself.

Heavens above, just looking at the weather forecast for this week - snow? What's going on? I'll be putting the heating back on again especially as DH is away with work Wink

No progress yet on the keeping Iz away from the phone, she's moved onto Daddy's hifi this weekend though so that's entertaining!

Anyone doing anything nice for Easter? Iz got her first Easter egg yesterday which I have confiscated, I love DH's grandma but I don't think Iz is ready for Mini Eggs. Thankfully Mummy loves them

gallicgirl · 01/04/2012 20:04

I live near to a small farm which is having an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday. the In-laws will be visiting so we'll go to that. Alys also has an eater Egg hunt at nursery this week. Bit worried about her being off the premises but I'm sure they'll look after her.

Really snow? I'm sort of glad it's going cooler in a way because Alys has loads of winter clothes she's not even grown into yet.

RunningKatie · 04/04/2012 20:03

Who had snow then? We woke up to it and then it kept snowing until lunchtime when it changed to rain which has washed all the snow away. DD is poorly so sat looking out of the patio door crying at the snow.

Flubba · 04/04/2012 20:47

We're heading up to Scotland via Cumbria. Leaving 4am tomorrow Shock. No snow here, but we've packed the winter woollies :D

Fuzzywood · 05/04/2012 10:31

Lost you, marking place, back later, boss wants something (honestly anyone would think I was paid to be here) Grin

RunningKatie · 10/04/2012 08:19

Hope you all had a good long weekend. DH has gone back to work today, and apparently I am a terrible mummy for not letting Iz have chocolate bunny for breakfast. I've got to move it to where she can't see it before lunchtime!

How was the Easter Egg Hunt gallic - we had rain on Sunday so hope you didn't.
And, how was Scotland FLubba?

Have the 12 week scan on Friday, I'm excited/nervous all at the same time. Definitely got a bigger belly at this stage than I had with Iz, I've had to unearth my maternity trousers.

Good luck for tomorrow Running, very exciting.
Having a tough week here as DH away and Ev a bit poorly so not sleeping at all much so I'm knackered!
DH back tomorrow though and we're off for a long weekend with a big group of friends which whilst not at all relaxing should be good fun.
How is everyone else?

gallicgirl · 15/04/2012 17:18

How did you get on with Evan, fuzzy? Is he feeling better?

Today Alys has mostly been ignoring her toys and kiddy tv and has instead been causing havoc in the kitchen. How many times do you think I should take stock cubes off her before I let her just eat one to find out they're vile?

Flubba · 15/04/2012 19:54

Problem is, gallic, they don't think they're vile, they love the salty crapness of them too much :o (same goes for cat biscuits Blush Hmm)

Back from Scotland - much fun had by all (if you pretend my big sister and I didn't revert to our teenage years and have screaming rows ending with her stomping off like a mardy old git :o / :( / Confused. Hey ho, the kids had fun, we had fun (once she left) and it was chilly but lovely. So the question is, why do we continue to live in London in a wee box when we could be living in the highlands with beaches and mountains and beautiful views for a fraction of the mortgage Hmm

Any news on the scan running?

Did you survive the weekend fuzzy?

jjkm I think it s quite normal for 15/18m olds to cry when others are crying (unless your LO has the empathy depths of a bucket like my DD1, who didn't care one jot when others cried, and still doesn't seem bothered by it Hmm )

RunningKatie · 15/04/2012 20:45

Scan went well thank you all, I was really nervous beforehand, not least because there was a couple in the waiting room slightly hysterically giddy as they'd just been told they were having twins. DH and I were just glad to see one sleepy little bean bobbing away. Due Oct 25th, so will probably arrive in November!

Hope the week without DH went ok Fuzzy and that you had a good weekend away.

Are there any jobs in Scotland Flubba? My friends moved up there 4 years ago but are now moving back, I think the realities of being 90 mins away from a major supermarket with 2 small children became difficult especially as their DC1 has challenging behaviours & they are miles away from family.

Great news on the food front jjkm,

Gallic - I feel your pain, we had a house viewing on Friday, I tidied a room, Iz watched and then untidied it afterwards to help, this included eating any breakfast leftovers found under the highchair and grinding raisins into the carpet.

Aww that's so sweet!

Fuzzywood · 18/04/2012 20:34

Ev much better thanks, we survived last week without DH and the weekend away was lovely. Interestingly when we were away Evan was coughing as he usually does after going to bed and one of the other couples mistook it initially for one if their DS (lots of the same baby monitors). Anyway, their DS used to have reflux and sounded just like Ev coughing so they suggested it might be the milk giving him acid indigestion/ reflux which is making him cough and disturbing him later as well. So when we got back I bought some infant Gaviscon to add to his bedtime milk, first night had a bit of an effect, last night no coughing at bedtime at all though a bit disturbed in the night, tonight no coughing. Will see how we go but Gaviscon does no harm so thought it was worth a try, hoping hoping hoping it sorts the sleeping out. Feeling a bit Sad that it might have been this all along. It never occured to me.

Good news about the scan Running.
Hope all are well x

Flubba · 18/04/2012 21:06

Oh poor you, and poor Ev. Not much consolation, but better now than later on - also, haven't you been to the doc's countless times with him too? If a health professional didn't pick it up, how are you supposed to have?
