Hello ladies, hope you found your way over here okay!

Our little newborns are newborns no more! :( :)

Hopefully a while yet before teething and weaning starts, but there's definitely a lot of wiggling and squealing going on already :o

Ahem, I may have news.... There might be another addition to this thread in October, that's all Wink Very early days obviously but exciting and chaotic times ahead!

gallicgirl · 19/02/2012 19:41

Bloody hell, you're nuts....erm Blush I mean, congratulations, brilliant news etc etc.

Grin

Hope it all goes well for you.

Fuzzywood · 19/02/2012 20:19

That's wonderful news Running Grin
Mate of mine has just had her 3rd and there's only 16 months between her second and third. So far she says it's great as she remembers how to do it all Smile. Only 18 months between me and my brother and we used to fight loads but it was also great to have someone to grow up with. Hope all continues to go well.

Glad the girls are better JJKM. We still have 2 healthy children here, long may it last!

Flubba · 20/02/2012 16:54

Fantastic news Running :) :) Will keep my fingers (and legs Wink) crossed for you.
17 1/2 months between my first two and they're thick as thieves and always have a friend to play with. :)

RunningKatie · 21/02/2012 19:15

Thank you all, yes I think I might be a little nuts gallic! It was either that or go back to work Wink

LadyBuzz · 22/02/2012 12:46

running thats great news so exciting.

My friend has just announced she is expecting her third and her eldest is 26 months Grin.

flubba DH made that decision too, I am Sad but at least I didn't have to make that call, if it hadn't been for having awful sections I probably would never have stopped - I would have been on 15 kids and counting Grin.

Kali is also a hooligan and constantly bruised, she is way way worse then either of the boys ever were, she climbs everything. She has done a full stairs tumble but thankfully was fine, hoodalum!

Today at long last Iz pulled herself up to stand - whoop whoop, she did it on the side of the bath whilst I was in the shower. She has gone for the day to see my PIL so no doubt they'll be trying to get her to do it again all day!

I'm spending the day cleaning not messing about on the internet, I'm just about to attempt to make rice pudding, how hard can that be? I hate the stuff but Iz & DH love it so I thought I'd treat them.

Flubba · 28/02/2012 05:58

Hurray! She'll be off in no time I suspect :o

Mmmmmh, rice puddind. A whole load of faff for a whole load of yum :)

Flubba · 28/02/2012 05:59

Fuzzywood · 28/02/2012 21:51

Yay Iz. Still cruising here, he did try to take a step a couple of times in the last few days so I guess he'll be off soon! Had to leave work early again today as he has conjunctivitis again!
Home made rice pudding sounds lovely. I made what my family call bakestones but everyone else calls Welsh cakes tonight for DD to take to nursery on Thurs on St David's day. The Danish mum in nursery went in and did a Christmas for them and another mum did some lovely things for Chinese New Year so thought I ought to not let the Welsh down (still on a high from the rugby on Sat which helps Grin)

Flubba · 29/02/2012 06:47

Grrrr.

Welsh schmelsh.

Wink
Fuzzywood · 29/02/2012 08:44

So I shouldn't mention the Triple Crown then Bubba? Grin
DD was looking at me like I'd gone mad whilst I was hiding behind a cushion for the last couple of minutes of the game. She'll learn with time Smile

Flubba · 29/02/2012 12:10

Blinking video umpire and his blinking short sightedness. Harrumph.

RunningKatie · 29/02/2012 20:33

I'm being made to watch the football tonight, I've told DH he can watch it until 9pm and then OBEM is going on.

We've started night-weaning Iz, fingers crossed it seems to be going quite well, she's only waking once, having a sip of milk from her beaker and then goes off again. It's nothing short of miraculous, so either this is the calm before the storm, or waiting this long meant she really was ready for it.

Flubba · 29/02/2012 20:38

Good luck with that Running

Impressed you can stay up till 10pm - when I was in my first trimester with all three pregancies, I was absolutely shattered by about half eight most nights! :)

That's very impressive. Alys is only just beginning to stand independently although she toddles around with her walker.

Still no words either although she chatter all the time, it's all rubbish. She had to be told to be quiet at nursery last week as they were trying to get another child to nap and she kept shouting!

Wow that's impressive JJKM. We're just starting to get Mama and Dadad. Not sure what he'll end up calling DD as her name might be a bit difficult for him.
Bless Alys and her shouting, that's very funny Grin.
Ev is standing independently now and has just started to walk only holding one of your hands. Thing is he gets around so quickly by crawling or cruising I'm not sure he gets the point of walking yet.
My 2 are getting really rough and tumble with each other now, can be a bit of a nightmare. They were wrestling on Sunday and Ev bit DD so hard he left teeth marks! I was hoping we'd have a little more time before the biting stage

Flubba · 07/03/2012 12:36

We have the biting stage going on here too Fuzzy - so far just me and his sisters, but I'm on the look-out when we're at playgroups etc.

That's impressive development for both of the girls jjkm!

Well ladies, I sold my baby stuff (bumbo, door bouncer, bottles etc etc) and have also sold maternity clothes on Ebay. Just need DH to get the snip now :o >>evil laughing emoticon

RunningKatie · 08/03/2012 19:52

I'm really impressed with the talking all the little ones are doing, Iz still manages "Dad" and occasionally if I've been very good we get "Mum".

My mum turned up today with a gorgeous sampler she'd sewn for Iz, she was so proud of it as it's taken ages and really is lovely. I looked at it, and couldn't help myself blurting out "but Mum, she was born in 2011 not 2010" & then having hysterics. My poor mum is absolutely mortified, it cost £83 to get the thing framed and now she has to take it apart to alter it and then the framer will re-do it for her.

I take Iz to a gymtots class where she essentially bumshuffles about whilst all the other kids are doing forward rolls etc. they all get a stamp on their hand or foot for doing something well, like a forward roll. Yesterday, she got a stamp for balancing a bean bag on her head. My daughter - the future Olympian

gallicgirl · 08/03/2012 21:32

Oh bless, your poor mum!

Has anyone taken their little one swimming? Do you think it's a good idea or is it a whole load of stress?

Fuzzywood · 08/03/2012 22:27

Oh your poor mum!
We take the DC swimming pretty much every weekend. It's a bit if a faff but once you get the routine sorted it's no problem. I think it's fab to take them. Both mine were first in a pool at about 8 weeks old. The earlier the better I think so they don't know to be afraid of it.
