Hi. I haven't been on any June 05 threads before as didnt' discover mn til a couple of months after ds was born. So hope you don't mind me gatecrashing!

Not weaning yet. But i DO think i have the moodiest baby in the world. EVER! Anyone else feel like that some times?

Hello troublesmummy! Welcome. My dd2 doesnt like to sleep for long and likes to feed a lot but fortunately is generally very good natured. Is this your first baby? dd or ds?

Talking of poo Welshie dd2 was in a disposable last night (due to me forgetting to get the nappies in off the line) and we had the most ALMIGHTY poo this morning while dd1 and i were havng breakfast. I went in to get dd2 up and she had poo everywhere. I swear it was nearly up to her armpits. I had to strip her off in the shower and clean the bath after!!! There was hardly any left in the nappy. I was giggling away though as dd2 thought the whole thing was hilarious.

Ds. Born on 28th. Yes its my first. He sleeps really well, and has done since he was 6 weeks old, so i think this is his way of showing me i can't have everything!!

Bubb, is 5-6 milk feeds not normal? Is that a lot or a little? I follow Gina (don?t shout at me) and she is advising 5 feeds per day at this age. DS usually wants one more top up feed on top of that. It?s hard to tell you how much, as I?m swapping him over from b/milk to bottles at the moment. On his 3 bottle feeds, he seems to drink about 8ozs on 2 of them and about 7oz on the third. I?m also giving him the 2 x 2 ice cubes per day as well, but I?m pretty sure he would happily scoff more.

Mrs Wed, glad you had a good night with DS2. That made me laugh about your book club. I was dreading reading the last book chosen for our book club. I reluctantly started it, only to find that the meeting date was changed, so I didn?t have to read the book after all. I was secretly quite pleased. What?s your book?

Lynny, hope you have a lovely time in Bournemouth. I do know what you mean about being away from home, but you feel SO good when you get back home, even though you?ll have a lovely time away.

Katz, I?m using the Annabel Carmel book as well. I?ve so far tried: carrot puree, pear puree, sweet potato puree and tonight I am making, guess what?. apple puree!!! Lol, huge variety there, but it does look really good when they get a bit older.

Welshie, lol at the poo though. My DS doesn?t go for 3-4 days and when he does go, he really goes. It is truly foul. This is one of the only silver linings I can see in going back to work and leaving DS with DH

My news of the day is that DS has done his 1st roll front to back. However, here's me spending all day trying to coax him to roll for me. DH wanders in from work, smiles at DS, and over he rolls!! DH is v. smug.

Does anyone else find that there DS/DD saves up and does uncontrollable nuclear poo's since introducing solids? I find DS doesn't go for ages but then blows out in one Chernobyl like disaster. It is so messy no nappy will keep it in at times - even my Stacinator wrap which was previously bomb proof

Has anyone tried the new Tots bots bamboozle??

Oh I'm doing ok. Nice to pop in here again. I skivved college today so am far less tired.

DD2 not on solids yet so huge poo from this morning was a bf one. Pure liquid. I am sure his bowels will settle once he gets accustomed to it.
TM - Does your ds like to be carried alot or is he generally upset for no reason? My friend's baby never settled and cried ALL the time and she saw a cranial osteopath which really helped her ds. She had a bit of a traumatic birth.

Jonah-Great news on the rolling.
5-6 feeds is totally normal-I was just curious as to how much your ds was taking.My ds always has 8oz's and drinks his bottles dry,but my HV said I should drop one-which I'm not going to do at the mo.I'm just really confused with it all and wondered what everyone else was doing,after all,all babies are different.
I've now uped his veg intake and he's eating it all-I'm sure he'd eat even more if I let him.

Skyler-Water does sound like a better idea,especially for when it spills on the carpet.Though't I'd try juice though as it's got a bit of a flavour.

Bubb - I know what you mean. I am well into my water though living over here. I drink gallons of it and have noticed a difference in my health and wellbeing lol.

Jonah, it's Janet Street Porter's autobiography, and I've still only managed to read 30 pages (fell asleep last night). So a short visit from me as I really must get it read!

Evening All. Many thanks for the kind welcomes, I really appreciate it.

Haven't been frightened off Mrs W but have had hairy last few days. Ds has had terrible (sorry) diahorrea, for 12 hours and I was finally panicked into visitng Dr's yesterday. The lovely Dr checked him over and said she thinks he's fine but that his routine has been upset by monstrous weekend visit to M & FIL's. Poor little pickle is exhausted after rotten nights for the last three days and too many people picking him up and overstimulating him. I try and stop them but it's very hard and Dh is lovely but useless at telling his family to back off.Aggghh! I become horrible DIL of course. Up shot is that I'm now even more obsessed by DS's sleepng and napping and after yet more failed naps, took him out today and walked him UNTIL he fell asleep and then stayed out in the rain to keep him asleep too LOL! Worked though, because he slept for three and a half hours in the end, (at home too) and his eyes are slightly less pink thank goodness and he's slightly less ratty. He was still difficult to get down tonight, but it's a start. Sleep seems to be such a Catch 22, the less he gets the more he needs, but the less he seems able to sleep.

I really thought we'd got past waking up a zillion times a night and being a ratty baby who doesn't nap but suddenly after a trip to the inlaws I'm right back where I was four weeks ago. So frustrating. Oh well. Time for some sleep now.

PS Troubles mummy hi I'm new too, and absolutely we went through a period where my DS was massivley moody. Lasted about four weeks and thencamled down, until this weekend anyway! Not weaning yet either...

Morning. Well dd2 only woke twice last night . I feel much better as a result and hope it was all just a growth spurt that is passing. DD1 is at creche and I have just bought some bits from the thrift shop and come home for a coffee and in theory to do the ironing, but shock horror I find myself on here .
The dd's made me laugh this morning. I had put dd2 in the pram ready for the walk to creche and was putting dd1's shoes on. DD1 pipes up 'Mummy Mummy, H is looking at us'. Yes yes I murmur humouring her but not looking up. This gets repeated another couple of times with more urgency on dd1's part and I finally look up to see that dd2 has got hold of the toddler seat bar (one of those old fashioned Silver Cross ones) and pulled herself up to a very wobbly precarious half sitting position. Her face was a picture she was SO pleased with herself but mildly concerned about her lurching to either side. I have therefore learnt to pay more attention to dd1 and also that dd2 cannot really be trusted . Right off to have a play with dd2 while I have her all to myself!!

hello again

got a minute, dh has not been very well, the poor man drags himself to work but has not been usual useful self around the house. think we need a holiday but with new mortgage extended maternity leave and dh job that just is not possible.
am now looking forward to christmas when we get to spend sometime at inlaws which is always very nice.

skyler- dd exploits! mine getting to be quite dangerous now too just cant leave her she will try to pull self up to sitting or drag along te floor on her back, she can go far i tell you.
in answer to your question-born in africa childhood and teens in madeira rest between portugal france and england. settled in london where i feel most at home. not cold enough anymore thinking of iceland

weaning - going well loosely following annabels book. am on one cube breakfast and dinner 2 cubes lunch. when i started i mixed all with ebm and baby rice, am slowly reducing these except for breakfast.

skyler- oh yes glad night ok dd also sleeping well last couple of days

Hey Twitchet you came back thats great,awww poor you little one been so unsettled, our william was the same yesterday, although he is getting a tooth, he was so tired but just wouldnt have a nap, drove me mad grrr.

Lynny hunny you ahve alovely time this weekend i know im going too, after a good talking to myself lol ive decided its my littles sisters wedding and i shall make the most of everything, looking for something blue at the moment, bought a lovely card yesterday, still have decied on grass skirts for their wedding prezzies lol shes going on a surfing safaria in shrilanka lol trying saying that went you drunk.

Yes sloids are going good here, i meant to say welshie have you tryed a drop of water with solids i know your breas feeding but this might help clear if you know what i mean .

William now poos every day since we started him on rice, we also give him banana rusks which he loves
and the rice just a couple of spoon fulls with his milk.

Sklyler wow your little one, so cute but you have to keep your eyes on them now dont you, i left william in his bouncy chair to prepare rice he started shouting hed only bent right over to get a toy and was stuck poor darling was so upset.

I dont know how our william will be on our long journey on friday, and if my boy lol will ever get there, friday will be a fun day at least if they get lost we have a day to find them lmaoo

Thanks for all the welcomes!! Feel like i'm pushing my way in here most the time, so its nice to feel welcome. Tbh i think his moodiness is because i've been a bit stressed lately. He's been a very good boy so far today, so mummy is in a very good mood as well.

I'm hoping he's just going through a phase. at the rolling over. Ds is trying soooo hard to do it. His blinkin arms keep getting in the way though. Lol.

Dd is doing some fabulous drawings - castles, trees, houses, rainbows - we're so proud of her.
Ds is having real trouble with his poohs poor little love. We were in the doctor's yesterday about his cough she said not to worry and make sure he has some water(agreed with you EYM), it's just his system settling down with solids and the bit of formula he's getting.
I just move from one obsession to the next with sleep being the constant one.
BFing - sleep - wind - sleep - constipation - sleep etc I wonder what's next....

welshie- you inspired me just to get on with trying to get Ds down. Last night he did go down well, but ended up in the bed after being woken up by his sister! still I'm starting and have also got him on the bottle twice now! Am gonna keep going with this and get a bit of FREEDOM...yah

feel a bit out of it with the mushy veg, as I 'm not starting weaning til after Christmas. Hopefully you'll have got it cracked by then and can pass me yr tips.....
